Just picked up from here and everything was great. I had lard na with beef, they kept the sauce separate from the noodles so they stayed crunchy and tasty until I got it home. My wife ordered pad khee Mao with shrimp and asked for it to be spicy, and it was SPICY! Everything was packed well and carefully, food was super tasty and filling. My lard na came with so much beef I was stuffed. They also have some of my favorite crab rangoons, they are are like purses filled with tastiness and crunchy! They even cut a little vent in the container so the steam doesn't get trapped and it stays crunchy! I'll definitely be picking up more from here! read more

This is one of my go-to places for a quick bite around me. Sometimes I'll even walk there in the summer! I always get the same items on the menu. I don't know that this is the most authentic Thai food out there, but it tastes great, staff is friendly, there are plenty of fried appetizers to appease our kid, and the pad khee mao and tom kha soups are delicious. Ordered from here two times. First time, I got the spicy basil stir fry with vegetables and the second time I got shrimp and scallops with asparagus and extra vegetables. Portions are generally pretty tiny for what you pay... I can get WAY more food at somewhere like joy yees for only a couple extra dollars, so that's definitely a minus. I was pretty pissed when I ordered my shrimp and scallops because I literally got 7 small shrimps and 3 scallops. Like for reals? You call this a meal? The biggest saving grace of this place is that the food isn't overly oily and is relatively clean tasting. And the food itself does taste pretty decent... just really need to rethink their portions. read more

Tonight was my first time eating at Pinto. We wanted a B.y.o.b in Evanston and pinto was perfect. They seem to do a lot of take out. People were busting in and out all night. The tin yum soup and fresh spring rolls were delicious. I order the yellow curry with veggies. Everything came out fast and piping hot. We had a great dining experience . I honestly cannot say anything bad about this place. I've been ordering here almost every weekend. My friend Diana has explored the menu more then I because I cannot get over the Pnang Curry with white rice. The flavors are so so good. Add tofu and salmon and I promise you'll be satisfied. Diana has loved every single item she has order (garlic chicken, pad Thai, and among other things I can't remember). Crab Rangoon and Spring Rolls are delicious as well. These folks have a great attitude, but their food is just too mediocre. My first visit, I put them through my usual first-time assessment for Thai restaurants--cucumber salad, spring rolls, chicken pad thai. The Thai rolls were fresh and light, but bland. Even the dipping sauce didn't jazz it up much. The cucumber salad was A+, maybe the best I've ever had. You might think that a cucumber salad would not vary much from place to place, but you would be wrong. Pinto serves theirs in a broad, shallow bowl, so the dressing is evenly distributed through the whole salad. Most cucumber salads swim in a pool of the dressing, with dry slices on top and drowned ones beneath. Not only was this salad not over-dressed, the flavor was the perfect balance of sweetness and zing. Unfortunately, the chicken pad thai which followed was dry and VERY boring. It needed more sauce and peanuts. It didn't taste bad, just too bland. Yesterday I got takeout from there--spicy basil chicken. It was better than the pad thai but not that great. Maybe a C or C+. This place is close to my route home, so I might consider takeout again sometime. Their dine-in experience is entirely forgettable, with no ambience to speak of, and service which swings between over-attentive and ignoring (same server, same visit). read more

Now my favorite local Thai place :) My family and I ordered delivery last night and I was so pleased with the items on the menu, the quality, the price, and the service! We tried the pad Thai, tofu and shrimp with rice, pot stickers, crispy rolls, and jabchai noodles. All delicious! I'm pretty sure they even gave us extra crispy rolls. The delivery was fast (although we ordered after lunch rush), and the delivery guy was pleasant. I am looking forward to trying out more items on the menu. I still love the food at Pinto. However, the last few carry out orders have been lacking.. missing utensils/ chopsticks, napkins, sauces. Which is expected when you order to-go. Thank goodness I checked and requested those things before leaving because I was planing to eat outside with a friend. Everything I've tried from Pinto has been delicious. I've just had their Tom Kha Soup for the first time. Incredibly delicious soup itself. I do love onions, and their nutritional value is outstanding, but my soup was about half onions with only three to five mushroom and two tomatoes. This place is the bomb. I had the Red Curry lunch special and it was a huge serving and really fantastic. $9.00 for a full plate w/ rice and it came with these little baby egg rolls that were great. I ordered on grubhub and there was some mistake and my order wasn't ready, they apologized and whipped it up very quickly, less than 5 minutes. No big deal at all, this stuff happens. It is a small and cozy neighborhood restaurant, but it got some really nice thai food here. Our friends live just across the street and they dine in here all the time. The service is warm and the food is served fast, so if you are in a hurry but don't want any cheesy fast food, this is the place to hit! We four people tried all kinds of thai dishes: pad thai, pad see ew, thai curry, fried rice. All are delicious, especially the fried rice and pad see ew. I am not a huge fan of curry but their curry tastes the same as lotus Siam, the best thai restaurant in US. Also they offer a generous amount of meat, so good for meat lovers like me! read more

I live down the street and just recently decided to try this place. It's rarely busy and very small inside (so I was a little worried the food might not be stellar.) Boy was I wrong! We got crab rangoon with wonderful sauce to dip them in (we would have liked to lick the bowl clean). Then we had a spicy seafood dish and sesame chicken. Both were extremely fresh and the seafood had plenty of fresh veggies. The chicken also had a wonderful sauce that was sweet, sour, and a little spicy! It was by far the crispiest fried chicken I have EVER had ANYWHERE and simply wonderful. I hope to make this place a regular spot to get my "Asian Food" fix! read more

Got takeout with my friends on a Friday night and I've gotta say that the delivery was fast and friendly. But sadly my Pad Thai was a little bland, and the noodles were oddly chopped up- all about an inch long, instead of long noodles you could twirl.
