We ordered carry out one night but it looks like we're gonna have to dine in sometime. They have a rooftop that looks nice from outside. I ordered the basil ground chicken and it was tasty but wish I had gone spicier. I paid for hot sauce but it wasn't spicy to my taste either. We also had the Thai curry puffs appetizer. I thought it's supposed to have chicken but ours were vegetarian. We also ordered two entrees that both came with rice but we were only given one small rice take out container for both of us. Still, the food was good and we'd order from them again.

I ordered takeout. I had a panang curry with crispy noodles. It was good. The broth was a little on the sweet side but I enjoyed it. Next time I'll probably order it a little more spicy. I also got chicken curry puffs. The puffs were actually really good but I don't think they had chicken. They were like an Indian vegetable samosa. Maybe they gave me something else and I didn't notice but either way very good.

The ambiance was so warm and welcoming. We sat on the outdoor patio. The service was super friendly and quick. We ate around 430pm on a Monday so a little slower. Food was delicious. Will definitely be back.

The space is very cute with three levels and outdoor seating. There are items clearly labeled if they can be made vegan or gluten free. If you are vegan I would recommend mentioning it as some menu items do need modifications to be made vegan while others do not so it doesn't hurt to double check! The pad Thai was flavorful but the noodles are very thin and it reminded me more of pad wo on sen. The pad kee mao was also delicious but is spicy. As somebody who enjoys spicy food I thought it was perfect but know some can be sensitive to spice. I think the prices are also a great value and would definitely recommend trying this place out!

We ordered delivery since we saw it was new on the app. Pad Thai - one of the best ones that I've had in Chicago! We are definitely going to order this again. It hit the spot. Panang curry - pretty flavorful. It was our second favorite of the three items Pad woonsen - flavorful but a bit salty Overall, we're excited to reorder from here again on the future!

While walking around Evanston, we felted a bit hungry. I craved for Thai food. Joseph searched for some places. Yasotorn Thai Cuisine popped up. We decided to give this place a try. So glad we did! After reviewing the menu, I ordered the vegetarian egg rolls for appetizer, and Pad Kee Mao for my entree. The dish came with large flat noodles, carrots, broccoli, mung beans, sliced cabbage, and green peppers. The food tasted divine! I enjoyed every morsel. I felt like 5 star chef prepared my food. Joseph ordered the Hoi Tom. He said it tasted good. It came with mussels. Our food took about 23 minutes to arrive. But well worth the wait! It appeared the locals, and students, frequent this restaurant often. After eating at Yasotorn, people could go shopping at Trader Joe's or visit one of the quaint local shops. When in Evanston, drop by Yasotorn Thai Cuisine. Bring friends, dates, and / or family. I highly recommend it.

The best hidden gem rooftop in Evanston!!! The patio was so cute, and each dish was so flavorful and delish! We had great service and will definitely be back!!

I am a huge fan of Yasotorn, especially in the summertime when you can eat on their lovely rooftop! Their Thai food is top-notch, and they even have a wide array of Gluten-Free options. I brought a friend with Celiac here and she was thrilled with how well they handled their food and had no issues with cross-contamination. I would make sure to clarify the issue of cross-contamination though just to be sure! I have dined in and taken out food from here multiple times, and it it always delicious and plentiful servings. It is a great spot for some authentic Thai food.

Fried Tofu- super crispy and sauce was delicious!

There was a live saxophone player and I loved the live flowers they had. Our waiter was extremely nice and took the time to explain the menu as well as their customer favorites. I order a Thai iced tea which wasn't bad but I prefer mine a little thicker and sweeter. It came in a thin tall glass which in theory was not a lot of drink. To start we order the chicken appetizer and fried beef on rice to share and unfortunately I did not snap a pic but these were listed under apps or shareables but the portions were extremely small. As our mains came I noticed that they were also small and each were around $20-$30 per plate. Not a bad thing if you don't eat much but I'm a big bang for buck type of gal. My family came to share and this place is a more fine dining thai restaurant which could explain the smaller portions. We ordered the pad Thai which was alright in my opinion I expected a little more flavor, the aubergine which was tossed vegetables as recommended by our waiter which was also ok not much flavor but beautiful plating though, and the coconut curry which was by far my favorite. If I were to come back here I would order that again, it was a nice light yet complex flavor profile which made me savor every bite. Overall good place for an upbeat fancier meal and I highly recommend the coconut curry braised chicken if you visit. Little pricey but that's just my opinion let me know what you guys think if you visit! Oh and they also give your receipt in a boat which they spin and leave a thank you card once you paid which was really cute.

The first time I visited I didn't realize they close at 8:30 pm so I arrived at 8ish and the server/owner snapped at me that they will be closing their doors by 8:30 pm so I hurriedly ordered a delicious chicken satay appetizer with peanut sauce presented beautifully in a tiny goblet and a crispy curry puff which was extremely good too. I loved the thai iced tea even though it was served in a small glass with lots of ice. The reason I am leaving a two is because the owner made me feel like I was not welcomed and an inconvenience because I arrived half an hour before closing. It was hard for me to savor the food based on the fact that the owner who is also a server to cut costs made it clear she needed me to leave when they start the closing process so I rushed through my first ever dining experience there. Today was my second and admittedly will be my last. The owner gave me the same icy indifferent attitude as if I wasn't genuinely welcomed. The first time I dined there I had a feeling she was the owner so I didn't tip and this time the owner lied to me when I mentioned I knew she was the owner when she practically DEMANDED a tip after my disappointing dining experience. She said she works there as s server and doesn't have a clue who the owner was completely lying to me so I would be quilted into leaving her a tip. First of all I arrived here at 1:30 and she coldly stated they close at 2pm no exception. There was no separate lunch menu and she let me decide what I wanted and didn't even take my order till 1:40pm I chose the crazy noodles with beef and you either get a tiny portion of cucumber salad or an egg roll appetizer. When my food arrived there were no chopsticks just forks and the plate was very decorative but the portions were extremely small. The egg rolls were good but each eaggroll was the size of your pinky finger and you get 3 tiny pieces. I ate quickly and when I got up to pay she asked me how id like to tip. I knew she was the owner so I felt it was HIGHLY inappropriate to hustle a guest for tips especially if you own your own restaurant and you're serving to cut costs by not hiring a server to work for you. Again I thought it was a tacky move on her part to insist on a tip and then lie to me and say she doesn't know who the owner is in real life. I don't like the owner's lack of business ethics so I will not be returning here especially because the lunch deal is extremely overpriced and doesn't include a side of salad or rice or beverage. She never once smiled at me nor made me feel like a welcomed guest so I don't feel like returning to support a business that treats their customers with such disdain and genuine unkindness. Also let me Reiterate even if the food is good my meal was soured by the negativity from the owner who works here as a server too to cut costs. My meal was $18 ish dollars not much of a deal when you realize the plate portions are small and the appetizer is miniscule too. What spoiled it for me was her lack of kindness and no chopsticks. Just not the vibes I'm seeking. I don't like the fact that the owner lied to me about not being the owner so very sketchy!

I've had many clutch spots over the years as I moved around, but it took me a minute to find my North Shore go-to. But here I am, a local for half a year now, and my go-to is Ni's, 100%. Lisa, the owner extraordinaire, is friendly, engaging, and an absolute customer service star. Not to mention a formidable chef. She has an obvious passion for food and its cultural history, and I love talking with her about it. The whole crew at Ni's is awesome and always happy to chat or handle any dish alterations. They clearly care about their clientele, and it's one of the things that keeps me coming back. My "must have" is the veggie summer rolls. I get them every time. Really, really good. And after living in the Vietnamese neighborhood of San Francisco for a few years, eating out almost daily, I've had my fair share of summer rolls. The produce at Ni's is always fresh, and I love how they cleverly use jicama for crunch. The rolls come with peanut sauce, but Ni's makes a delicious vegan fish sauce in-house that I go with almost every time. Banh Mi, Veggie Pho, Crispy Tofu, Fried Rice, I've had everything on the menu that is vegan or can be made so, and I'll gladly order them all again and again. This is not an all-vegan restaurant by any stretch (fear not, meat eaters), but Lisa goes out of her way to have options, and I've never been anything but satisfied. Even my kindergartner is into the veggie Pho broth and summer rolls, and he's not the easiest to please. Wilmette is lucky to have Ni's. I hope everyone knows that. They're tucked around the corner from the busier area of Central Ave and Wilmette Ave, and I've been doing my best to spread the word. "You've never been to Ni's?! Get the hell outta here.." So, if you didn't know, now you do. You're welcome.
