When the food came out we asked for salt and pepper, which never came. Unfortunately we did not have a great experience. The service was awful. Our food was sub-par. The pizza tasted old and lacked flavor, the pretzel was burnt and crunchy, and the mini sliders were completely burnt - buns, meat, even the cheese on the sliders was overcooked. All of the food seemed like it was sitting underneath the heat lamps for far too long. Our service was terrible. We couldn't find our server a lot, only to see him texting on his cell phone in the corner multiple times. Our lane kept breaking, balls and pins were getting stuck, we couldn't refresh the lane and nobody was around to help. It was beyond frustrating. We reserved our lane for 2 hours for a whopping $65.00. The manager told us we were "boujee bowling" and there's nothing boujee about Pinstripes except their prices. We dipped into Pinstripes to escape the cold, and because the Chicago local we were with had heard great things about the place. I'd never seen this type of concept done before. This spot is like a classy adult hangout. There are bowling lanes, with people sipping wine and enjoying delicate foods. There is also a dining area and event spaces (there was a bridal party loading in and we loved seeing everyone's outfits!). We came for a small bite and ended up ordering a "Mozzarella Marinara" app and a Farmers Market salad. The salad is what I'd hands-down go back for. It had butternut squash, pomegranate seeds (LOVED that on a salad), grains, and a nice, subtle vinaigrette. Even our non-salad-loving folks at the table enjoyed it. Booked a bowling reservation to celebrate my husband's birthday over the weekend. Our pre-bowling dinner reservation ran long. 30 mins before our reservation, I called twice to notify Pinstripes to see if they could accommodate a later arrival. No answer either time, so I left a voicemail after the 2nd call. No one bothered to return my call. Showed up 45 mins past our reservation. They could not accommodate us and insisted on charging the no-show fee. Complete garbage. Either answer your phone/respond to voicemail or waive your fee. read more

Well, the delay in everything is where the 2 star stems from. I believe it took 30 min for our drinks to come out and longer for our food to come out. It also seemed like they just couldn't get certain specific orders together or simply forgot what was requested. A lot of improvement seems to be needed in these particular areas. Now, our waiter was very kind and apologetic for the mishaps and delays as he portrayed that the delays and mistakes were due to the kitchen. The lemon me... lol I don't know how to spell it. But, this drink was bomb and strong! You couldn't taste the alcohol BUT lol you could surely feel it. The jambalaya was excellent as well. Flavored well and decent portion sizes. I was so impressed with my entire takeout experience with Pinstripes! I never have my hopes too high when trying out a new place, but Pinstripes really wowed me. My fiancée and I wanted to try them out since they were running an awesome deal for carry-out and we've seen the place a few times. We ordered online through their website, got an estimated pick up time, and called from outside when we arrived to get our order. Very easy and seamless! We ordered the full rack of baby back ribs, parmesan fries, mac & cheese, brussel sprouts, and cookies. Everything we ordered was very enjoyable, with the ribs and the brussel sprouts being the stars of the show. The balsamic bbq sauce on the ribs is INCREDIBLE, I was so impressed with the depth of flavor and how balanced it was and how well it complimented the food. The brussel sprouts were also amazing as they were crispy and I loved the level of heat/spice they had without being overpowering. The fries, mac & cheese, and cookies were also tasty, but not very distinct or memorable compared to the rest of the meal. The fries were very crispy and had an okay amount of parm on them, the mac & cheese was very cheesy and heavy on the butter (not complaining lol!), and the cookies were crispy, not gooey, which I prefer, but my fiancée not so much. Overall, I was really happy with the meal we had from here so I would recommend it for sure - check their website for deals first! Typical bowling alley with upscale prices, digital scoring and leather sofa's. We ordered bruschetta and wine while we were bowling (bruschetta was delicious 4 pieces for $15). In a hour we were able to bowl 3 full games. We went on a Monday after 3pm so it was $20 per person per hour (rental of bowling shoes were included). I highly suggest my a reservation. Since I live in Aqua Bldg nearby I've been to this Pinstripes location a few times over the last 4 months. Good selection of beer on tap and VERY good food! I've had the Italian Paella and the Super Salad and both were excellent! Well-prepared and presented, and both very tasty. I was there recently for watching a Bears game and found they had good seating around the bar for viewing, and plenty of TVs. Since the Bears were getting there butts kicked by TB my son & I played some bocce ball for entertainment. All-in-all I highly recommend Pinstripes on Illinois Street. PS. We went here for my stepfather's birthday. I thought we were just going to a new bowling alley, but this was so much more. The bowling was great, but afterwards, we ate and it was a full service all you can eat buffet. That was pretty cool. They had bruschetta as one of their appetizers, kind of classy, and they had a chocolate fountain as one of the desserts with bits of strawberries and pound cake and other things to dip in it. It was just nicer than you might expect and the staff is extremely helpful. We were there(435 E Illinois St, Chicago, IL 60611) yesterday for dinner, and honestly that was the worst experience I had since last couple of years. Food was delicious however service was the worst! I saw multiple servants wandering around but not looking at the customers. One of them (I can say from the purple shirts) whole time kept watching basketball game from the TV. Another very young servants didn't know what is dessert menu we asked. The young woman who was getting rest of the orders from us was very rude and as if she was on rush. There was a tall and masked guy he was the only "working" servant around which kept forgetting to take our plates after we were done. I reminded him couple of times by walking servants section and said "hey please our plates" He came and took one of the plates and the rest stayed there another 15-20 mins. We asked orange juice by walking servant aisle again, because they didn't look at the table or came to ask what did we need. That orange juice was forgotten... I mean.. come on..You are Pinstripes. Just went to a wedding here last weekend! Super impressed. What a cute spot. The wedding and reception were down stairs and was set up beautifully. The exposed brick walls and wooden beams really added a fantastic touch. The wedding planners also seemed to be wonderful. I was a point of contact for the bride and there we a few small hiccups that had to be taken care of. The 2 girls were on top of it! Dinner was OUT of this word!! They served a pear and Cesar salad, cheese ravioli, fettuccine Alfredo, short ribs and chicken Marsala with asparagus! BEST food I've ever ate at a wedding! The review is only for corporate/large party events! I've been to Pinstripes twice in my life, both times for work holiday parties. The place is gigantic with multiple levels, the bottom level I believe for mainly large party events. The second level is divided into a dining section and bowling section. When I was there for my holiday party this past Thursday, there seemed to have been two other events going on in the lower level. Our event included a cocktail/appetizer hour with a number of beers, wines, cocktails offered, and appetizers including veggies/dip, pita, stuffed mushrooms, bruschetta. The food itself is not life changing by any means, but it's generally pretty good tasting. The caesar and pear & prosecco salads were tasty. The charred broccolini and roasted potatoes were pretty subpar. The lasagna was on the salty side, and the penne with tomato sauce I could have made with my eyes closed. The maple glazed salmon was very tasty and wonderfully cooked, but the chicken piccata was underwhelming. After the meal, we were scooted up to the bowling section where coffee, tea, and desserts like cheesecake, brownies, and cookies were served. I didn't actually bowl but most of my coworkers had a fun time. I don't know that I would come here for a meal, but the bowling and drinks I would definitely come back for on my own dollar. There's Bocce and the overall aesthetic is just a bit more grown up. Nothing wrong with PBS, just a bit different. The food was also on-point; I would say better than the food we had at PBS (we had another work even the night before at PBS). Better not only in terms of quality but also selection & type of food! Their brunch menu doesn't have that many options but you can tell that the few things there were carefully selected . I tried almost everything on the menu and nothing disappointed . Our server recommended the lobster bisque and it was hands down one of the best I've tried . We also ordered a side of avocado toast ( you can't never go wrong with this) and the scrambled eggs with lobster , in my opinion that's an odd combo but definitely tasty . The steak on the steak and eggs was cooked to perfection. Finally the biscuits and gravy were really soft and buttery . We had just had a bite to eat elsewhere and came in since it was on our way back to our hotel. We came in and sat at the bar and the bartender was...how do I put this? A jerk, for lack of a better word, right from the get-go. I'm not sure if he was just having an off day or if he really, really HATES bartending during Happy Hour? Who knows. He rudely asked if we knew what we wanted even though we had literally just sat down then turned away and pretended to be busy. It wasn't busy as there were empty stools all around us and a few other people sitting at the bar. ***Crickets*** The only reason why I'm giving this place 3 stars and not 1 is bc the other bartender Lexi came over and was kind enough to take our order. As I looked up Pinstripes on yelp, I noticed they had a free seasonal gelato for their yelp check in and dessert sounded good. Cue my mistake here. I didn't see Lexi and ended up making the unfortunate blunder of asking the first bartender if we could do the yelp check in. He stared at me disgustedly like my question was totally beneath him and mumbled, "Sure", but then went back to making himself look busy without putting in the order. Again, it wasn't even busy. Whatever, Dude. Lexi reappeared minutes later and I asked her instead, which she did without a giant attitude. I pointed out that the other bartender was being rude and she was just super cool and smoothed it over in an incredibly professional way. She came around, chatted with us a bit more and didn't make us feel like the unwelcome tourists that other bartender obviously thought we were. We let her know she forgot to charge us for it and she came back and told us she had bought the second round for us. I mean... it was totally unexpected and unnecessary, yet greatly appreciated. Look, I don't know if people in Chicago- (besides that jerk of bartender) are usually as awesome, but Lexi was phenomenal. The food is always fresh and up to standard. The staff is very friendly and you will always be greeted with a warm welcoming smile. I like the fact that the staff wears uniforms and that gives them a polish professional restaurant look. My wife and I have tried lots of great tasty food here. We have also tried their Sunday Brunch buffet that is fantástico y delicioso with a great set up and lots to choose from. They have high quality and fresh ingredients and it's always a great experience when we come here. The patio seating is great (when the weather cooperates with us that is) but the interior is also nice and cozy. I love to sit in their booths as it's more of a privacy thing for me. But you cannot go wrong with any seating available. We have sat at their bar area in many other occasions and it's always a pleasure to be served and catered by their bartender staff. We have never had a problem with our cocktails and it's always fast service with a smile. The location is excellent and we love to take advantage of the neighborhood discount that we get thru the company that our high rise staff has set things up with we love that. I highly recommend you try their pastas, especially the Cauliflower Orecchiette and the Angel Hair Pomodoro. I also highly recommend the Glazed Salmon dish (it comes with quinoa and veggies and a tasty sauce). Or if you are looking for more of a meaty dish, try their Tenderloin Sliders (they are AMAZING) or their burger is also so delicious). For dessert I highly recommend their house made Gelato (strawberry is amazing) or if you want something more fancy try the SALTED CARMEL TURTLE SUNDAY (is so much better than their Banana Split. What I don't like about the banana split, is TOO SWeET. If I were you I would order it but make sure they do not add the syrup and whipped cream (not a nice flavor) too much of a store bought taste, so stuck with the Salted Carmel Turtle Sunday.
