The atmosphere is great, too bad the service was so severely poor. It took absolutely forever to get a drink, even though there's hardly anybody in there. We finally got our first round never seen our waitress again so we had to go find somebody else to order a drink that took forever as well. We ordered one of every appetizer they had, we got them. They came to try to take our plates that still had food on them I said no They said they were closing in 20 minutes I told him that we wanted to finish our food, Still trying to take our Food. I had to tell him three times no. . When the lights came on, we had 10 minutes we were trying to put our shoes on so we can go eat our. But the guy and lady quickly went over to all of our food and dishes and tossed into a black tub and left it on the our table and walked away swiftly . Throughout the night, not one server had a smile. They all seemed very cranky. There were seven of us. Two of us had no bowling shoes because they had a size 6 or 9 I wear a 7 1/2 so couldn't make either one of them work my coworker had similar problems. She also had to wear just her socks. We came here after a medical conference hoping to relax. Absolutely unacceptable service oh, and by the way they take their gratuity out. Sad. This could be a super cool place. read more

I've been to multiple Pinstripes locations before, but this was my first time at this spot. The venue is fairly big, with multiple floors and an outside area as well. We sat in the dining room on this hot day. The service was prompt. I had a glass of pinot noir and a chopped salad with salmon. It was a good size and tasty. The salmon was cooked a little overdone to my liking, but I still liked the dish overall. We did an hour of bowling after dinner, and it was very fun! Do you ever have an experience so bad you want to warn anyone else who is thinking of coming here to just...not? Well we came here for lunch on a random Tuesday. Want to emphasize that point since it reinforces the fact that it was moderately empty and wasn't like a bustling weekend dinner. We got seated and someone who wasn't our server got our drinks order and said our server will be right with us. We'll, we then sat around for like 15 minutes until our server finally came around to take our food order. We then proceeded to sit around for an hour with no food. Our server was also nowhere to be found most of the time. We finally had to flag down a random server and take our food to go as we didn't anticipate having to wait an hour alone between the time we ordered and the time the food was ready. Thankfully for us the other server was around since ours was pretty useless. The overall endeavor took about 1.5 hours between the time we walked in to the time we finally got our food (to-go nonetheless). The food itself was very mediocre. Price range is probably around ballpark on the scale of prices in the area but $17 for a burger that wasn't good doesn't make me want to return. Save your time and money and just go elsewhere. This was the perfect stop off after taking the Chicago Line architectural boat cruise. We were quickly seating on the outdoor patio and handed the happy hour menus. Being a yelp elite, I immediately 'checked-in' and noticed there was a free scoop of gelato or sorbet with the check in! The rest of my party has learned about yelp and all proceeded to "check-in" as well. Our server was none too pleased to see us all receiving a free scoop alongside our wine. The macaroni is acceptable everything else is disgusting. Do not order ribs. The soda is flat, tastes like just the syrup. I attended a corporate party and I was very disappointed. I was impressed with the food and atmosphere, and the games are pretty good. You can earn tickets just like at Dave and Buster's and use them for redeeming prizes in their store. This place is one of my favorite casual spots in Chicago. It has delicious food, but isn't snobby. It has good cocktails that you can enjoy while bowling or playing bocce ball. The service is consistently good. Some of my favorites: Chicken and goat cheese, which is a creamy dream made with fusilli pasta, rosemary cream sauce, and pepper; their moist, bursting with flavor tenderloin sliders (appetizer); the Puccini, made from stool pack, mango juice, citrus sour mix, sparkling wine. We went to Pinstripes last night with another couple for a birthday celebration. Here's what struck me - it's a great combination of really good food with the entertainment aspect (bowling and bocce) with ambiance (we ate outside) and finally with a staff that serves their customers well. We were all blown away with how perfect the evening was. At our table we started with the prosciutto fig flatbread. Absolutely amazing! We traveled Italy before and this reminded us of meals we had in Florence and Rome. The meals that came were delicious and can't think of anything wrong with what we ordered. I would say the best dinner hands down was the lobster Mac n' Cheese but that's not to say the rest wasn't that good. Finally, we ordered the tiramisu and gelato w/warm brownie to share for dessert. Of course, we took part in a friendly game of bocce after dinner. We were novices so the directions provided were helpful. It was a fantastic night and we're glad we went. Just had lunch at Pinstripes in Streeterville again and, as always, the food and service were great. This is a wonderful lunch place that few think about when looking for a casual meal. It's not overly crowded and has beautiful outdoor seating, weather permitting. The management is superb as is the wait staff - They bend over backwards to make sure that your meal and service are to your liking. Cannot say enough good things about this restaurant. Pleasantly surprised - fabulous restaurant! I was in town for a conference and having dinner with a group of 11, someone suggested here and I thought being an entertainment place with bocce ball and bowling it would be fun but I assumed it would be pub style fair. I was complete wrong! The decor is great - it is known as a Gastro Pub with a scratch kitchen! We were seated in a private room, the overall ambiance was perfect and the decor included exposed brick and rustic tables it was very nice. The menu was expansive and could accommodate anyone including a few seeking gluten free options. We started with drinks, which were great and we ordered everything from a side of figs, salads, pasta, salmon, tuna, Ahi tuna tuna, and flatbreads. The meals were all served hot and together - three servers served us our meals. Groups can be tough and typically someone's meal is not right or cold - but everything was on the mark and delicious! Despite being one of the best places to grab a boozy Old Fashion cocktail in our neighborhood, the entrée offerings have been a bit disappointing recently - your safest bet is to stick with their pizzas and flatbreads ($13-$15), which are always surprisingly tasty, well-crafted and feature classic toppings ranging from prosciutto & fig to the ultra-simple margherita pie. On our second visit in as many weeks, our four-top struggled to find anything to praise other than the near-perfect Crispy Calamari appetizer ($13) - always butter tender, deftly fried and served with a spicy marinara dipping sauce. The Fettuccini Bolognese arrived swimming in grease and the tiny portion of breast meat hidden inside my go-to Spicy Crispy Chicken sandwich ($13) was neither crispy or spicy - sadly, the most flavorful element of the sandwich was the dime-sized dollop of calabrese sauce buried under the tomato. With our waitress "mission in action" after delivering our meals, I eventually walked over to the brick oven baking station and scored some hot sauce from the friendly chef passing flatbreads in and out of the fire. The monochromatic Chicken Marsalas with risotto looked a bit under portioned for $20. Given the opportunity, we would have certainly ordered another round of cocktails from the bar, but our waitress was still busy stacking dinner plates in the kitchen with the rest of the wait staff - so, we flagged down the manager. Once we explained our frustrations, he was genuinely apologetic, offering up several comps, as well as some future dining coupons. Clearly, not their best effort - we hope when we visit our neighborhood restaurant again, we'll have a better dining experience. read more

Dined at Pinstripes for the 4th of July. Pre-paid dinner $79, 4- course meal, taxes & gratuity included. Awesome views of the fireworks away from the rowdy crowds is well worth it & we left stuffed! Warning, the building is near the Pier, so you may want to wait for a couple of hours before leaving the building. Got there a little before 730PM & was seated on the patio within minutes. Our server was great from beginning to end, made sure we were enjoying ourselves & made sure to tell us not to rush anything since fireworks started at 930PM. We got bread upon sitting. Alcoholic beverages-of course- were not included, but that was expected. Got a bottle of Rose for the table. Very light & crisp! Perfect for the muggy weather! First course-- assorted cheese & meat plate enough for our party of 4. Enjoyed that thoroughly, nothing was left on the plate! Second course-- Salad with yummy watermelon slices. Finished every last bite of that too. Third course-- had a choice between Salmon & Steak Medallions, 3/4 of the table chose the steak, although the Salmon (I heard) was very well cooked. Came w/ 3 generous portions of steak with different toppings. Best one I'd say was the peppercorn, then the parmesan & lastly the gorgonzola. Sides were plenty of grilled asparagus & creamy mashed potatoes. Fourth course-- We got the house made gelato (cookies & cream) PLUS the Mango Sorbet, both very delicious in their own rights. By the time dessert rolled around, the fireworks were already blasting off. Our server offered to take a pic of us with the fireworks in the background & advised us to get closer. She was awesome! We just celebrated my birthday dinner here last night. Although, my wife (party organizer) had some initial hiccups securing a room/space for our group of 15, the General Manager Ben came to her rescue and made sure that we had the option of sitting outside on their river facing patio or got a private room, if the weather didn't cooperate. Sadly, it was cloudy and chilly so we sat in the private room but our group had a great time. Service through out the night was excellent and our server was patient and gave us plenty of time to order apps and eventually dinner. Drink orders through out the night were timely and no one had to wait too long. Everything on the menu tasted great. Our table got calamari, various flatbreads, salads, bruschetta, sea bass, some pasta, ribs, risotto to name a few. Food was very good, not your typical bowling alley fare. This was gourmet! They were also great in letting my wife bring cup cakes and a bottle of champagne. They chilled the champagne and brought out 15 flutes when it was time to toast. We decided to try Pinstripes solely based on yelp reviews, brunch price and the menu. After a quick response from Briana, their event sales manager, I decided this would be the perfect place. Brianna was so accommodating and happy to answer all my questions through multiple emails. Well, yesterday was the party and we all walked away very happy with our choice. The brunch was fantastic! The private room was great to be able to visit with everyone. Staff was also very accommodating and friendly. Pretty cool Pinstripes. They got bocce ball lanes, plenty of tables and chairs to wine and dine, and upstairs they have plenty of bowling lanes for all your bowling fanatics out there. Everything was in super nice condition; the shoes, lanes, bowling balls were all good. The computer touch-screens that were on our lane were a little finnicky, and the bowling pin setter machine was quick and fast after each frame. The food there was awesome. We ordered: CRISPY CALAMARI -- nice and crispy. I'm a tentacle person, and these were great SPINACH & ARTICHOKE DIP -- decent. I really liked the pita chips/bread that came with this STUFFED MUSHROOMS -- there was 4 to an order. Pretty good, the mushrooms were stuffed with a concoction of zucchini, goat cheese, artichoke, sundried tomato, roasted red pepper FRIED MOZZARELLA -- not mozzarella sticks, mind you, but mozza balls on a bed of lettuce BARBEQUE CHICKEN PIZZA -- delicious, crispy crust, although the chicken could have been more YELLOWFIN TUNA FLATBREAD -- absolute star of the show. If there's one appetizer you gotta get, its this! ANTIPASTO & CHEESE PLATTER -- a smorgasbord of imported italian meat, housemade lamb sausage, variety of cheeses, accompaniments The drinks were strong enough, and they had a decent Happy Hour selection. I stuck with Old Fashions, cuz I'm an old fashion, Don Draper wannabe guy. The waitstaff were super accommodating to our party of 15 and when I asked if any of the dishes had nuts, the server didn't know for sure, but he made it a mission for himself to go out of his way to get several waiters/staff to look over our spread and make sure we were all good. Excellent service! BATHROOM REVIEW: There's a private mens/women bathroom on the top floor near the bowling lanes. I went to the one downstairs in the dungeon, where there were separated mens and womens bathrooms. In the mens bathroom, inside there were several urinals and stalls, and they were all super clean. The River East Building has not had good luck with restaurants.... so this review is strictly on the restaurant. Upon entering this massive restaurant, I had noticed how cool this restaurant is with the exposed beams, brick walls, wooden floor and the brightness of this space is. We were seated right away since we were having a late lunch. We had opted to have a booth. There are various seating configurations to accommodate everyone. George had greeted with a great smile and personality. He went over the menu with us then proceeded with our drink order. Everything looked really good. George had brought us our drinks then took our order. I had ordered the loaded mac n' cheese (I tend to judge a restaurant on this item). My companions had ordered the Salmon Sandwich and the Prosciutto Sandwich. We also had ordered three cups of the chicken dumpling soup since it was a cool day. The soups were brought to us right away. The soup was very good. Then shortly, the food runner had brought our main courses. We had sampled each other meals and none of us had any negative thing to say. The Mac N' Cheese was one of the best I've ever tasted. I've had some bad Mac N' Cheese. Throughout our meal and dessert/coffee, George was great. He really added a great experience. After our meal, we take a tour of this complex of restaurant and bowling and bocce areas. The areas looked really spotless. The restaurant has an incredible patio over looking the river. I haven't went bowling in quite some time, so I decided to make a reservation and check this place out with a friend since I heard nothing but rave reviews from other friends about Pinstripes in Streeterville. Upon arrival, we were immediately greeted by a young hostess who was very warm and welcoming. While being checked in, she was very helpful in answering our questions about their amazing decor since it was our first visit. We had a really great time bowling, the drinks were reasonably priced and yummy, and our server (who's name escapes me at the moment) was very attentive. We even met Anthony, a manager, who was very accommodating and even gave us a tour and showed us their outdoor patio. We sat outside near the fireplace, along with other guests, who mentioned they were from out of town, and it was nice to just relax and meet a few folks who I'll probably never see again. I guess that's the hustle and bustle of life. :-) All in all, I definitely recommend checking them out. I certainly will return soon, perhaps for happy hour or dinner with friends. read more

I have been meaning to come here for a while now but for one reason or another, haven't. I finally decided to suggest this place to my girlfriend before our movie date and we are glad we came here. We ordered some sliders, pizza, and gelato and everything was freaking delicious! Even the bread and pesto aioli we get was very good! Everything had a great flavor and the portions were very generous as well. Though we didn't order any drinks, a lot of people were there for happy hour and the drinks looked pretty good. The staff was very friendly as well and accommodating. We didn't get to bowl but next time I come in, I would like too. The atmosphere of the place looks pretty chill and very fun! We stopped in for a quick lunch before a movie and were very pleased with our tasty lunch. There were a lot of people there to play bocce ball or to bowl. There were groups with kids as well as adult groups. Along with that there is a good sized bar and restaurant area, which is where we landed. The food menu had a selection of salads, sandwiches, and a few entrees for lunch. We both opted for sandwiches, and were very pleased with our lunches - not your typical 'bowling alley' fare. My wife got the chicken salad and I got the tuna salad. We both got the creamy tomato basil soup (soup and sandwich combo). The soup was creamy and flavorful, and the sandwiches were fresh and came on what was described as a whole wheat bun, but it was much more than that - more like a ciabatta roll - which would have been very tasty without anything else, but was a nice accompaniment to the sandwich. Service was very good - with out waitress stopping back a number of times to check in. I'd be willing to give this a shot for dinner when they have an even more extensive menu. It's certainly not what you'd expect from a sporting venue - it's an excellent choice for a good meal. read more
