I came here for Sunday buffet brunch and the food was fantastic! Definitely bring a big appetite and try everything. The buffet price also includes one mimosa. There was nothing on my plate I didn't like/finish and service was attentive, hence the five stars. They make a little of everything. There's an omelette station, a waffle station, breakfast sausage, smoked salmon, shrimp cocktail, prime rib, roasted turkey, salads, baked goods, chicken tenders, grilled veggies, pasta, fresh fruit, and a chocolate fountain with all the goodies for dipping. The cheesecake at their chocolate fountain station was heavenly good. I don't usually order waffles when I go out, so I had to take advantage and try their mini waffles, which they make to order. Oh my, they were the best waffles I have ever tasted. The waffle was so fragrant, pillowy soft and slightly sweet from soaking up the syrup. They serve it with fresh whipped cream (choose among plain, balsamic, or NUTELLA) and fresh cut strawberries. I can't think of many things that can eat good old fresh whipped cream. read more

The food was less than mediocre and the service was horrible! We were tossed around among three different servers, one of whom admitted that they all kept forgetting about us. There were large gaps in time with no food or drinks - just waiting. At one point, we left our table to physically go pay for drinks at the bar. I was shocked at the final bill for 2 salads and 3 cocktails given the fact that all of that took over 2 hours. NEVER going back! Save your time and money and go someplace local as it is located in a great location with MANY other famous Chicago places with good food and better service just seconds away. read more

This place is just super cool. We were in Chicago for a weekend and wanted a cool--that is, air conditioned--place to hang out. We only had drinks, so I can't speak to the food, but the fact that they have indoor bocce ball should make this a go-to place. The servers were attentive and friendly, and did I mention they have indoor bocce ball? read more

Good was ok. Service was horrible. Food was cold and the order was messed up. Cool atmosphere . I imagine if you lucked up and get a good waiter you would enjoy your visit here. read more

From beginning with MiMi at the front desk. She was exceptional and I would not have enjoyed my experience without her. Our waiter Tony was very attentive and prompt. The food was Great, the cleanliness was very good. They refilled what was empty quickly and I appreciated the updates. Will most certainly visit again so that we can eat and then bowl. read more

Great food! I've been here 3 times for dinner and have had a great meal every time. I've tried the calamari appetizer, pear salad, and open-faced grilled salmon sandwich which comes with a tasty side salad. The portions are big and the quality is good. I also tried the limoncello martini once which was great, albeit strong. The ambiance is also really nice, both at the bar and main dining area. The service is nothing to write home about. But the food and ambiance make up for it. Looking forward to coming back and trying their happy hour menu and/or sitting outside on the patio by the water. I've never bowled or played bocce here, but that looks fun too. read more

Coming here brought back some lovely memories. It was 2 years ago to this day, in which I had my first date and shared my first meal with (my now loving wife). The first time we came here we were floored by the immaculate service and exquisite food. Unfortunately this time, we were left underwhelmed. The service was solid but not great, and the food was okay..nothing to compliment. We got the exact same dishes as we had ordered two years prior and the food was definitely not as tasty as before. I had gotten the chicken & goat cheese pasta while my wife got the fettuccine bolognese (which seemed to be a half serving, as a opposed to a full one from years prior). I wish I could give this location a 3.5 but I will settle with a 4, just because of the wonderful nostalgia this location brings to my wife and I. read more

My first time here was for a Yelp Elite Event. This place is amazing. Is your one place for a amazing date night. There is a amazing restaurant with great beer selections and a bowling alley all in one place. This bowling alley is amazing! I don't see myself going anywhere else to bowl after this amazing experience. They also have outside sitting. Go check it out! read more

Great place for dinner on a Saturday night! My parents were in town and we were looking for somewhere close to Navy Pier but not too close, you know what I mean. Pinstripes was right on the way and the experience was lovely. Our waiter was great, such a gentleman and very attentive. We split the sausage and peppers pizza and grilled chicken club sandwich. Both were great! For checking in, we got free pistachio gelato. Never had pistachio gelato before, was mind blown by how great it was. Like completely mind blown. Also, came in a waffle bowl. For FREE. All in all, genuinely great! read more

Excellent food!! Caesar salad and BBQ pizza were fabulous. Outdoor seating was so nice on the Riverwalk.

Stumbled upon this place tonight. Wonderful experience. They have boci ball, bowling and a cozy fire to sit by. Located on the water and great outside seating. Lighting could have been better outside. We started with the spinach and artichoke dip. A must! My husband had the spicy crispy chicken sandwich. It was enormous, ended up bringing half home. I went with the Prime Rib Dip on pretzel roll. Delicious The horseradish cream wasn't tangy enough for me. read more

I had such a great time here when I came to visit Chicago a few weekends ago. I flew in a little late, so I missed the group dinner, but I was able to enjoy myself at the bocce ball set. My boyfriend and I split 2 bottles of wine at 1/2 price, and they were delicious. I also got the shrimp and tomato flatbread. It was so good, and it heated up well the next day for leftovers. Also, props for the giant corkscrew in the front -- I need one of those for my house! I can't wait to go back and experience Pinstripes again! read more

OMG the descriptions in those negative reviews about bowling / eating in this joint happened to us too. We should have listened. It came down to bad management and disinterested employees who had no interest to provide better service and pay zero attention to, or attempt to respond to, customers needs. I have had better experience at BMVs. Not recommended. read more

I was lucky enough to attend the grand opening, and folks, you're in for a treat!! Even with masses of people, the site was ready to serve! All the food was phenomenal- my favorites were the italian jambalaya, chicken Parmesan slider and all of their amazing desserts! (Ok, the wine wasn't bad either) This pinstripes has two huge levels- the top is darker and more sexy, while the lower level had white lights and felt more romantic. Both levels had bars and games. Lovely bathrooms too! This is sure to be a big success as it gets going. I can't wait to come back! read more

Would love to come back and eat in and/or bowl, but that'll have to wait for our next Chicago excursion. We did stop by to grab some takeout after our architecture boat cruise (a must people!) as we needed to check-out from our hotel an hour or so later. I had a cheeseburger, which was fan-flipping-tastic; definitely one of the best I've had in recent memory. My wife had the stuffed mushrooms and the veggie burger, and she loved them both. This place definitely raises the bar for bowling alley food. read more

Came here from the architectural boat tour of the city. It rocks right by the restaurant so you can grab lunch! They have outdoor patio seating facing the water and bocce ball too! Indoor seating is bistro bar style, industrial, exposed brick feel to it. I tried the stuffed mushrooms as a starter and got the fettuccine bolognese for my main course. Pretty tasty. The stuffed mushrooms are great! Have some goat cheese, pesto sauce and fresh cheese. I took an Uber here cause parking is tricky. Music is top 40 mix so it's a casual feel. Nice for a Saturday afternoon while you are out and about enjoying the rare warm Chicago spring weather! read more

We had a great experience here! Stumbled in after a long day sightseeing and walking miles upon miles. I got the superfood salad and looooooved it! Service was fantastic and quick, the place was beautiful and we will definitely return. read more

Our first brunch in Chicago and we chose Pinstripes. A place that has bowling and bocce ball in side. But they also had a stellar brunch until 3pm. It's a good thing that we arrived at 2! We were seated almost immediately and then shown around, there was just about everything you could choose from: Carved meats, hand made omelets, waffles, meat balls, chicken wings, pizza... Quite literally .. EVERYTHING. And the desserts were to die for. They even included Mimosas in the price. I enjoyed the carved meat station the most, it was good prime rib! The salads and the home made breads were so tasty. I would love to come back. read more

I really loved Pinstripes! It felt like being in a wine region venue more than anything else - you'll know what I mean when you go. The place is spacious and roomy yet by the bar it's cramped. We had drinks and were lucky that they had $5 Bloody Marys and $3 mimosas. They also have a wonderful Chenin Blanc which I became addicted to. The service was professional and friendly. We didn't bowl or play bocce ball but plan to next time. If you have a special event, I suggest looking here because they have a large private room downstairs. The only reason why I didn't give Pinstripes five stars is because the music is atrociously bad - adult contemporary elevator music was their choice. IMHO opinion, if they want to have a more elegant atmosphere, I'd suggest they play jazz. read more

Pinstripes - Gin and blueberries! - New American Near Me - Chicago, Illinois

First time at this location. Usually go to northbrook location cuz closer to home. But was in the city with family n went with kids for dinner and bowling. The good... Bowling was pretty cool! Had the blue lights goin on n kids loved it! And it was half price on bottles of wine!!!! The bad... Service was a bit slow. We were all super thirsty from walking around all day and we needed lots of water but it was hard to get it. Missing a couple place settings. Also hard to get. Food all came out at different times and so some finished before others. But not too much of a big deal cuz we're staying to bowl anyway. Was't in a hurry. The ugly...the food I LOVE PASTA!! Ordered a chicken Alfredo kinda penne pasta dish. Don't recall exact name. But No gusto!! I love al dente "noodles"!!! Love to twirl it on my fork and take a huge bite! So I asked to substitute the penne for spaghetti noodles. Big mistake. When you switch up a dish I guess chefs panic n it just doesn't come out right. Or at least that was the case here. The pasta was way over cooked. It was like eating a big bowl of thick creamy mushy noodle soup. But the flavor of the sauce was ok. Just not a good pasta experience. Hubby had ribs. He liked it. Kids had spaghetti. Didn't like it but sausage was good. Cousins had a Cajun seafood risotto dish (basically looked like jambalaya) that was a bit salty n a salad they liked. Prob will return for bowling n half price bottles of wine on Friday nights. And I'll try not to substitute anything!!! read more

I might go back here to try bowling, but the service left a lot to be desired. We had lunch there on a weekend, and it took almost an hour and a half - this was at maybe 25% capacity. Our waiter was nice but had no idea how to answer our questions about the food. It took about 45 minutes for the soup to come out, but when it did, another waiter stood awkwardly at the other patio table for a few minutes with our soups. After that, we got our soups, and we also got our (overpriced but good) entrees at the same time. There was absolutely zero coordination, and it looked like very little training. Our waiter forgot lots of things, too, like a glass for my friend's beer. He would be gone for 15-20 minutes at a time, and the place was hardly slammed. The bocce was nice enough. The entire place is clean and well designed, apart for only one bathroom on the main level. I know this review seems a bit humorless, but it's frustrating that a place that tries to bill itself as so upscale and ~*~atypically nice~*~ has such issues with lunch service for maybe 10 tables (this includes inside and outside). read more

We stop in to bowl and get out of the rain. This really not a bowling alley, but more of a social eating place. They only have 11 lanes and countless eating area, downstairs, patio and upfront. The best part is the patio with the lake runs behind. read more

Out of town Guests who want to visit Navy Pier on a Sunday? Time for Brunch at Pinstripes. Food: Solid brunch fare. Ambiance: Quite pleasant. Very relaxed and aesthetically pleasing. Price: Outstanding $29 for adults (includes one mimosa). Drinks: Love the Salty Dog and the Puccini. Service: Absent. Pinstripes - Roasted Turkey Cobb, nothing special - New American Near Me - Chicago, Illinois

I've come here on a couple of occasions now and my thoughts on this place are overall positive, but mixed. The best time to go: happy hour! the appetizers and flatbreads are at a great price and the drinks are very value-based. the not so great time to go: brunch for the next two weeks. They're on a "holiday brunch" schedule which means it's $35/person AYCE + bottomless mimosas while it is normally $28. I'm not quite sure where the extra $7 came in. There was nothing that made me feel like "damn that was worth it." Yes, they had smoked salmon, yes they had prime rib, and yes they had endless mimosas. But if you're not a huge drinker, i think you'd be disappointed with the stale pizza, dry chicken fingers and overdressed salads. It was decent for the price but nothing I think I'll come back to anytime soon. On top of which, the wait staff seemed to really rush us to leave (asked if they could give us our checks while our plates and mimosa glasses were quite full on two occasions). Other than the food and service, though, the venue itself is quite the treasure. Clean, spacious, and fun! read more

I had the pleasure of testing out their new Saturday Brunch menu (for free, thanks!). I wasn't sure what to expect going in because, after all, this is a chain and it's based around bowling (not a knock on bowling, I just picture greasy pizza and 2 liters of Coke when I think of bowling). I was truly surprised and very satisfied walking out of Pinstripes. First of all, their outdoor seating is extremely pleasant. It looks out on a quiet part of downtown and you get the outdoor vibe without the sirens and passing stares. It's secluded but in the best way possible. The menu, though small, had a lot to offer: a variety of sweet and savory brunch entrees ranging from a granola bowl to steak and eggs. I went with the lobster crostini, which was quite pricey at $17, but hey this was free brunch so I went for it. It was amazing - great portion size and they didn't skimp on the lobster. The scrambled eggs were creamy (think of Gordon Ramsey's scrambled eggs) and delicious. The truffle wasn't overpowering and the bread was perfectly toasted. We also ordered the biscuits and gravy and the breakfast sausage. This was some of the best breakfast sausage I've ever had. The biscuits were great, although I wasn't keen on the gravy and would've preferred butter, but it was still great overall. I also had a glass of OJ - which was actually a glass and not a tiny cup, which is what usually happens when you order OJ at restaurants. Also - refills! Yay refills on OJ! I would order all of this again! I imagine that Saturday Brunch at Pinstripes will be quite popular. read more

They offer brunch but I've never tried it. So perhaps the stars would increase one more if I did. There is a bowling alley as well as bocci all Inside this complex. In the summer time there is an outdoor balcony/patio that lets you see the Ogden strip behind it. There's also a fire place at the back for those chilly night. My wife and I stopped by on our way to Navy Pier. The exterior of the restaurant doesn't look too interesting and you may be inclined to pass by. But it's worth taking a look inside. We had the most wonderful meal here, and that's saying a lot as someone with multiple food sensitivities (gluten, corn & peppers). David sat down with us and reviewed menu options that I could safely eat, and carefully prepared us the BEST meal we had while visiting Chicago.
