here is an update. their food is actually amazing. I've come back several times since my initial visit and review and each time after the first, the food was amazing. And cheap. ive now tried all of the flatbreads, several apps, a couple desserts, and several entrees. Do yourself a favor and order the filet mignon trio and the apple and pear bread pudding. oh my God. orgasmic. AND the crabcake is heavenly. read more

This place is fantastic! I have visited this location twice now in one week. Staff is kind and prompt. Outdoor seating was beautiful, with really pretty fairy lights and plants that completed the experience. The bread they offer is delicious. The food is amazing-- I genuinely believe it's the best lasagna I've ever had. I only visited for a dining experience, so I can't say much about the other activities offered here. However, I highly recommend coming here to eat!! read more

I've only come here for happy hour and it's my favorite place is Chicago. Not only does it have bowling, bocchi ball, AND a HAPPY HOUR FOOD MENU, it's also a nice restaurant and bar. After walking around Navy Pier for a bit, we worked up an appetite and decided to find something nearby for some snacks and a few drinks. There was not anything on Navy Pier that looked interesting, so we continued walking for a few blocks and happened upon Pinstripes. Great vibe once you walk in. There are Bocce ball set ups, a nice bar, and dining tables in the back. It was a Friday night at Happy Hour, but it was not too crowded or loud. We found a table in the bar sat down, and were promptly greeted. They had some craft cocktails, and overall they looked good and were priced right at $13, but many of them had fruit juices which i thought would make them too sweet. I ordered their House Old Fashioned which was flavored with Italian Cherry juice, and Maple Syrup, making it very sweet. My colleague ordered the Espresso martini which was flavored with vanilla vodka and simple syrup, again making it very sweet. We ordered the Calamari and the Artichoke dip which were both prepared well, and were full of flavors. A great place to end or start the evening, although i would stay away from the Craft cocktails unless you like sweet drinks. read more

I've been to Pinstripes a handful of times, all for different reasons. I've been for a group dinner where we all shared flatbreads, bottles of wine, and a few games of bowling; I've gone for late night drinks after a show at Navy Pier, I've been here for lunch on the patio along the river, and most recently I decided to join them for 'Blends & Blends' yoga and brunch. Despite how many visits I've made to Pinstripes, I still have yet to write a review.... what a SHAME! Well, I'm redeeming myself. This place is the tits. Great food, friendly staff, huge space, great, sunny outdoor area, an amazing buffet brunch, entertainment, and all in a great location... I'm not sure what else you need! That Sunday after we got our complementary mimosa after yoga, we used our coupon to get $5 off the brunch buffet. $3 mimosas, and all you can eat- it was excellent! Will definitely be making a trip back for the brunch, hopefully to sit outside once it gets warmer:) read more

Terrible service would be an upgrade. Why are there 5 people at the hostess stand, but no waiters or waitresses. We're told of a 10 min wait in an empty restaurant. Didn't get offered to be seated for 25 min. read more

Delicious Brussel sprouts and chicken wings very tasty this was all carry out can't wait to go in and try other dishes.

Great venue! Had a surprise birthday party, and the details were taken care of. Alex, our server, was quick and efficient whether it was to get more mimosas, get something extra for us or even clearing plates. Joe, the manager, was great to work with as well. Sunday brunch at Pinstripes was THE way to go. We had 18 people, 2 bowling lanes, and 1 bocce court. We liked the privacy of the two left lanes. We also enjoyed the fire pit outside since it was a lovely day. We had a private room which we all sat communal style. It was the right size for all of us. read more

The people at the waffle and omelet station was fabulous. I find $35 Sunday Buffet a bit over priced. Water is the only beverage that comes with brunch. The food on the buffet table wasn't hot such as the eggs, links, tenders, fries, hard biscuits and dry potatoes. The Host had us sitting in the lounge/bar area even though there were numerous available tables. We were the only ethnic group sitting in the corner of the lounge. It wasn't until myself and another customer let him know we weren't comfortable, and it was cramp, he gave us a table. When I asked the waitress(An** Ma**) for a spoon, she returned with it semi-cleaned and told me where I can find it. RUDE. 1st time & Last time. read more

We live right by this and my husband has always suggested this place whenever we want to go to dinner during the weekend in our area. Finally I begrudgingly agreed one night. I wasn't super excited because this place is a bowling alley and I know it's also a chain. It far exceeded my expectations. They have a bowling downstairs and a restaurant upstairs. It's super nice and the host told us some people have their weddings there. The food also blew me away. We got chicken avocado pizza and crostini to share among 4 people. My husband got the dipped beef sandwich and our friend got the jambalaya. The food was well cooked, flavorful, and a good price. More than anything the service is is INCREDIBLE. They go above and beyond here to make your dining experience amazing. I was thoroughly impressed by our waiter and I'm never impressed by service. The only thing I would say is that their bowling ends pretty early. We got there around 10pm and their bowling ended at midnight so we didn't have time to play a game. They should extend their hours on weekends. If you're looking for a laid back, fun time on a weekend with your friends, this is perfect. read more

We had reservations for lunch today at Pinstripes. We were seated immediately upon arrival. Our group was myself and 3 teenage boys. Everything was great!!! The chicken corn chowder was delicious. Worst experience ever! I came with friends to bowl - 2-4pm. Everyone paid and we got ready to bowl. There was a photo shoot/commerical being shot next door which was very distracting and the lights alone were blinding me and my friends while we tried to bowl even 1 game. We made it to the 10th frame, and they wouldn't let us finish and ended our game 25 min before 4pm. How is this even fair??? They never apologized, the manager saw we were unhappy and didn't do much for it. I will make sure my huge network of friends and corporate contacts to never come here. The food was good, they forgot a few items we ordered and ended up getting to us much later which altered how we finished the game. We never even finished 1 single game. Horrible planning by all at pinstripes. Shame on them for this type of treatment. At least have the decency for everyone to finish the last frame. Unbelievable. read more

We had the most incredible evening at Pinstripes. It was on our list as a "maybe, if it works out, if the weather is bad" kind of back up option. It turned out to be one of the highlights of our trip! The food was beyond delicious; it was the best meal we had in Chicago. The tenderloin sliders and crispy buffalo cauliflower starters were heavenly. I would never have expected that! The service was amazing; we honestly felt like VIPs. The staff was attentive, personable, and fun. My kids, my husband and I all had a blast playing bocce ball and bowling together. It was the best, most magical night of our trip. I wish we had a location near our home, and would happily recommend Pinstripes to anyone visiting the Chicago area. You will not be disappointed! read more

Eat, drink and play. 3 in 1 at Pinstripes. It's a gigantic restaurant located on the Chicago River in the historic River East Arts Center. Very modern and open. They offer a bowling room for both individuates and groups for all age, perfect for family as well. they also have another fun and interesting sport, Bocce, if you now how to play or just want to learn. It looks very fun. Who knows how to play Bocce, hit me up and let's go. I like to try new things. Both sports are very inexpensive. The bowling price starts as low as $8/hour. The Bocce starts as low as $5/hour. Bowling shoes ($5)are required and are charged per person but it includes complimentary Pinstripes socks, that's great. Separate menu at the bar section and for dinning room. so much to choose from. The price is so reasonable. They have a big wine selection for the wine loves. I love their happy hour menu, some of the appetizers are half off and as low as $4 every Monday through Friday from 3 to 6:30 pm. Now, you know when to come and catch me, LOL. I go there for happy hour and happy tummy. Great service and fun atmosphere. Highly recommended for a fun day with friends. In the summer they will open up their gorgeous patio with a beautiful river view/city view. I love hanging out with friends and enjoy my wine there. Can't wait for the weather to get better. I miss that quality time. read more

While being touristy in Chicago with my boyfriend and his mom, we came to Pinstripes because it was within walking distance from Navy Pier and the Ogilvie train station. It was a solid find! It's got an upscale twist on bar games with bowling, bocce, and decidedly not-bar-quality food. Unfortunately we didn't have time to enjoy a round of bocce before heading back to our train, but we did enjoy a leisurely meal. On our way in we were given cards good for a free appetizer with entree purchase. Being Wisconsinites, we opted for the fried mozzarella. What's a meal without cheese, after all? It appeared they breaded and fried mozzarella pearls which made for a nice bite-sized snack without the unmanageable strings of melted cheese sticks tend to result in. For my lunch I went for the Grilled Chicken Club. It was really tasty for the most part except for the bites that were heavy on the charbroil and/or fennel. A little fennel put an interesting spin on the common chicken/bacon/avocado combination, but a big bite of fennel was overwhelming for me. The matchstick fries were crispy and delicious and I wish I'd had room to eat more. My boyfriend enjoyed his Famous Prime Rib Dip and his mom loved her Chicken & Goat Cheese pasta. When I checked in on the Yelp app I saw I got a free scoop of gelato or seasonal sorbet. My lunch companions had stopped at Ben & Jerry's before but I wanted to wait to see what else we discovered - glad I did! I had my choice between mandarin sorbet or mint gelato. I picked the mint and was delivered three scoops in a bowl - enough for all of us. The staff didn't know my table mates had already enjoyed a sweet treat, so I greatly appreciated them taking us all into account. The gelato had thin mint cookies chunks throughout and was served with two as garnish. The mint itself was light and refreshing - definitely the product of real mint and not a bright green syrup. There was a slight snafu with being charged for our appetizer, but that was remedied pretty quickly. Our leftovers were boxed and bagged which made for easy transport on our ride home. read more

I went to Pinstripes the other day for an event and I had a great time. I will definitely be heading back to pinstripe with my friends to enjoy some good food, drinks and bowling! Bowling: The bowling area located on the main floor is very cozy with nice leather chairs and loveseats that made me wish I could take them home with me. I believe they have 12 lanes available which is nice because it just makes for a more intimate environment. Food: The food was delicious, especially those sliders and Italian Beef Pizza. I highly recommend trying these if you dine here. Location: very spacious spread out over 2 floors yet managed to pull off a warm/inviting feel. *** NOTE: Check in on Yelp to get a free gelato or sorbet *** Couldn't make happy hour, so we made reservations for 6:30pm on a Friday night when happy hour ends (insert crying emoji). We were hoping to sit in the patio, and the staff confirmed an hour prior to the reservation that we could sit out there. However, every table on the patio was full when we got there at 6:30pm for our reservation. We were given the option to sit inside or outside by the entrance of Pinstripes (not the same as the patio, Pinstripes, not the same). This place is massive. There's the patio, indoor dining area, kitchen, bowling alley, bocce area, and bar. It's a fun and modern atmosphere. We didn't get to check out bowling or bocce unfortunately and can only speak of the dining experience. I ordered the Maple Glazed Salmon, which has organic quinoa, cucumber, avocado, tomato, pesto, and red pepper. I had a bemused expression when the server asked how I wanted the salmon cooked. I'm so used to being asked that question when ordering steak that it just completely threw me off. I decided on medium-well. The dish turned out to be delicious! The flavors just worked so well together, and the salmon was perfectly cooked. It is a bit pricey though at $27. I wonder if that's why prices aren't advertised on the website? I also had the sorbet dessert, which was sweet. Not the best sorbet I had, but it was okay. Our waitress was great. She was friendly, attentive, and made sure to accommodate for my food allergies. In fact, the receipt even stated to remove the ingredients I was allergic to! I think I need to come back during happy hour to get a taste of that menu and dine in the patio area. read more

I mostly come for bowling with the added service of food and drinks. Both times have been with my coworkers - group of around 14 people split across two adjacent lanes. The lounge chairs next to the bowling lanes make the atmosphere seem very high end. The large group allowed time for people to grab a slice of pizza between turns. Their selection of pizza is quite nice - I especially like their tuna/avocado and bbq chicken pizzas. The cocktails were half price on Thursday - $6 each. I have no idea how much this cost since our boss was treating, but it was fun experience! read more

$8 Kids' meal is an awesome deal, dessert was awesome We didn't have a reservation but was still able to dine in the lounge area before our visit to the Navy Pier (read from fellow Yelpers food in the pier is horrible). I wasn't expecting too much from this place given the 3.5 rating but was genuinely surprised. We had: Prime Rib Sandwich served with fries - deliciouss! Juicy and tender, the brioche bun was perfect for soaking up the au jus in every dip. The au jus wasn't salty, but just had enough flavor to up the ante. Fries were shoestring and perfectly salted Pepperoni pizza personal pie - standard pizza with spicy pepperoni, my wife liked it Chocolate Smores (dessert) - Damn, why don't I make this more often? Oh, yeah, it is a pain in the ass to make (easy to burn the marshmellow and a mess to clean up). While it is still messy to eat, I have no clean up and they made it just perfect with no burnt marshmellow taste Intelligentsia coffee - My wife prefer this way more than Lavazza But here's what my daughter had for $8! Marinara bread stick Orange Juice Mac and Cheese 2 Chocolate Chip cookies It was a steal. Granted, my daughter is not yet 3 so as my wife pointed out, this meal probably won't be enough for older kids. But add a side for them and they are good to go! read more

I attend a Yelp Elite event at Pinstripes and I will say they have a great space! Two MASSIVE floors. During my time at Pinstripes, I spent most of the time playing Bocce. They have three turf lanes/courts in the bottom section of their establishment. You can play with a few players - probably max of three per team so you can have a fair amount of turns. It's A LOT of fun. Some people get heated, so they include a tape measure. Trust me, it's necessary. I ordered a few drinks, and the service was a tad slow. I actually ended up chatting with the manager on staff, Kyle, and made the experience much better! He is incredible kind and attentive. For this reason, I'd deff go back and play some more bocce and grab drinks. They also have a bowling alley - did I mention it's a huge space - on the ground floor but I never left the bocce lane. This is a great place to go have drinks and hang out with friends. It's a relaxed environment with two awesome activities. Came here for a department work party over lunch, and it worked well. They have quite a few options for different packages, so it was easy to find something that fit into our budget. We had two lanes for a group of 12, and it was a little tight because the space we had was 'walled off' from the other lanes. Having the privacy for our group was nice, but there wasn't quite enough seating for our group, but we made it work. The food was plentiful (they'll refill anything you want), and it was pretty good-an assortment of flatbreads, pizzas, pasta and regular salads, and desserts. They also let us box up whatever was left to take back to the office, which was nice as not all place let you do that. The bowling itself was standard bowling, and our group had a lot of fun with it. It was nice to have something other than the standard 'out to lunch' option for a work party, and I'd likely work with them again in the future if the opportunity presented itself. read more
