There are quite a few reviews on Yelp already detailing the lack of service that PinStack has. After going there with my family tonight, I couldn't agree more. We were seated within moments of walking in. The dining area itself is great. Pretty upscale for a bowling alley and they had huge TV's (and were adding more this evening). That was probably the only great thing about this place. We ordered our appetizer and got our water pretty quickly. Once the waitress took our dinner order and gave us our appetizer, it all went downhill. We didn't get plates for our nachos (there were four of us) and had to get up from our table to ask another server for plates and napkins. No one seemed to care that our water was finished, so we called the waitress back over to have to get us some more. Normally, you should refill the customers water when they're close to being finished. My dinner came with a salad and my brothers' came with soup. They brought out the salad and my brothers entree first and completely forgot his soup and ranch dressing (which he specifically asked for). My parents' order came next and surprisingly it was alright. They completely botched my order. Instead of bringing me grilled chicken, they brought me a chicken sandwich. When I told the waitress that this was incorrect, she stated that the kitchen was making my dish and should be out "right away". During this time, she served THREE other tables with their food. If you get someone's order wrong, common courtesy is to rectify that mistake first. When I asked her where my food was, she stated that the dish "takes 10 minutes to cook". I mentioned it had already been 10 minutes and she said "yeah" and walked off. She later came back with an entree, only it was the wrong one again. The waitress said "you ordered chicken satay". When i mentioned that I ordered the item at the very bottom of the menu, she looked confused. I told her not to worry about bringing me my food and rather than asking what she can do to fix it, she walked away and brought the check. We got up and told the manager who seemed like she didn't care about our experience at all. She was extremely unprofessional and said she would talk to the waitress. She offered us a free hour of bowling for our troubles which we would've taken had we not had such a bad experience in the arcade (which was terrible to begin with). When we were trying to get our prizes, there was a yo-yo that was clearly priced at 200 tickets. We had the necessary amount of tickets, however the employee told us that the yo-yo was 240 tickets. When i explained that the sign said differently, he said "well, my book says 240". Fed up, we walked out. PinStack could be so much for the area that it's in. West Plano is booming and needs a family establishment like that. Unfortunately, their service and demeanor were absolutely atrocious. We will never be coming back and will never recommend this place to anyone. read more

This is not a bowling alley in the 1970s sense at all. It's an entire amusement park, fantastic for kids. There's so much to do you"ll never have the been-there-done that feeling. I don't understand some complaints about the wait staff being young. How is that a bad thing? People can be bad waiters at any age. I think the management has done a phenominal job at hiring and training friendly, courteous, attentive, and knowledgeable staff. Most are in their late teens and early 20s which is utterly irrelevant except that youth can and at pinstack does bring enthusiasm and energy with it. Great food, great service, great entertainment. Man. We had just given our card to the waitress when the group after us came walking up and said it was their lane. We knew we were done but the staff had not even given our card back yet. Then we were playing games. I grabbed a beer at the side bar but the bartender could not move any slower. He actually wasn't even moving fast enough to even realize that as I stood there he kept helping others that had just walked up. Finally I was the only one standing there and he noticed me. But to my awesome surprise when I ordered my beer the keg blew. I had 2 thoughts. 1. Since I watched him pour from that tab to help the people if I'd been helped in order I would not be standing here. 2. Oh well kegs blow it's Saturday lunch and the place it packed. Shouldn't be much longer. WRONG again. He called to someone for a keg change. Then things got real bad at his bar top. I stood there for another 14 minutes. I wish I was exaggerating but I texted my party to let them know where I was at. Then I watched as guest walked up and walked away without service. About 20 people just not being helped. I shook my head as a I watched a manager (oblivious to everything) walked close to the bar but not far enough behind it to do anything. Say something to the bartender and walk off without lifting a single finger to help his drowning employee much-less the guest in his establishment wanting to spend money. Finally as I wait another Woman manager came over a fixed everything. She was all over the place working hard to put out this fire. I know things happen and maybe it was a scheduling issue, or someone called out but what could have made the whole thing different for me to the point I would have just accepted the issues at face value and moved on was the manager that did nothing. Did not try to help his staff. Did not try to help his guest. That shows to me that it truly is just poorly managed. read more

I went to Pinstack in Plano twice recently but for two very different occasions. Both were great. First, I attended a celebration of a year-long project's successful completion for my employer (in the top half of the Fortune 500) with IT vendors who teamed with us in the project. Several VPs and senior executives from my employer attended, as well as various key players in the project. We all had a great time at Pinstack, which proved to be a good setting for a fun yet professional get together. The service was great; the drink selection was good; the food was fine and wide enough in variety to accommodate various tastes and dietary restrictions; and the bowling proved to be more entertaining than expected for a wide range of young and older men and women. Noise levels were surprisingly muted, too, so we were able to talk and hear each other relatively easily. Our group had maybe 30 people over 3 or 4 hours one afternoon, and it seemed like everyone really enjoyed the outing based on conversations following the event. Second, less than two weeks later, my neighborhood's elementary school had a dad-organized outing to Pinstack for our fourth-grade daughters. Obviously this was a very different affair from my first visit, but it was equally successful. We had a party of 30-40 people, and the service was again quite good. Our waiter worked very hard to attend to the dads' and daughters' requests, and everyone had a good time. The kids bowled and surprisingly my daughter got hooked, unlike a couple of previous bowling outings. My daughter also devoured a plate of chicken fingers, whereas other girls chowed on pizza, etc. Dads seemed to enjoy the burgers and similar lunch fare, as well as the beer selection. Note: The Velvet Hammers are really good. After bowling, the girls had fun in the arcade, on the overhead ropes course, and on the climbing wall. They didn't do laser tag, so that will be one to try next time. Overall, I give Pinstack a 5-star rating and their service staff great marks, especially over other competitors like D&B. Made racist comment and manager did not once come apologize or try to rectify issues. Celebrated a birthday here and was told to sit in back of place. Those were exact words "sit in back" after a few minutes of sitting in back the manager came and stated the whole section was closed. I then asked where do we sit nobody had an answer it took 10 minutes for employees to put a few tables together to have us sit. Then they sent a black waiter to serve us. Not one time di the manager decided to come and apologize about confusion or inconvenience. It was not team work or customer service it was leave the black waiter to tend to black people. I know I will not stop anything by not ever going back to this place but it's 2019 and everyone deserves treatment of respect and customer service. Great family fun time!! I've been here several times with my company and each time we felt the restaurant service was really bad. Today though, it was a complete 180. Nice concept but very poor execution. We went there on a Sat night for a small gathering of 15 to 20 people. We had no reservations bc we were originally going to go somewhere else. When we arrived we ask about seating and was told it would be a two hour wait bc they were 12 deep. But I saw plenty of seating in the dinning area, a vip room that wasn't being used and it wasn't used the entire night a indoor patio seating next to one of there two bars that had plenty of seating. We were told we couldn't sit in the patio area bc they had no waitress which would of been ok with us. I could of just gone to the bar and got our drinks. We finally found seating next to the bowling lanes but our party had to be split up. We tried to order several times but the wait staff all seem to be confused on if we could order food there and who was actually going to help us. We also tried to get a lane for bowling which we were told was a 4 hour wait. In the meantime we did finally get to eat and enjoy ourselves. But the two hour wait we were told for dinner actually was an hour and a half but we had already found a table with no help at all by the staff and ate. When it came time to bowl we had an hour. We got to the 8th frame and our time ran out, most places let you finish an entire game but pinstacks didn't so we left. I spoke to one of the managers just about why we couldn't sit in any of the available sitting and basically was told I didn't understand the business. I'm the customer not the owner or manager it's not my business to understand. But I grew up in the business of customer service so I do understand if you have a customer who at the end of the night that is going to drop at least $500 or more you try your very best to accommodate them. I will never be back and do not recommend trying to have a party there bc they seem very disorganized. read more

I brought my team from work here for an afternoon away from the office. The entire group had a blast. Great bowling, excellent facilities, and the event manager was extremely accommodating. There are many things to do at this facility and games are all top notch. Highly recommended. read more

If I could give this review less than one star I would. Do not ever go here. William Griffith who is the "manager" was unhelpful and rude when we had an issue. When we asked to speak with a superior or supervisor all we were given was a 20 yr old who did not care about our issue or complaint. Other than the terrible service and management the place is ok.. Horrible service! We came here during winter break on a Monday night. There was a 2 hour wait for bowling so we chose to wait for a table in the restaurant. We literally waited an hour and half for a portion of our meal. I had to complain to the manager and shortly after received our food with a hair in my California Burger (turkey). I attended in Pinstack for the first time today with my 12 and 9 year-old. I wanted to write this review based on the service we had in the restaurant. We had an excellent server named Austin, and he deserves recognition for the way he treats his customers and how pleasant he made our experience. Hosted an AM meeting followed by afternoon into evening FUN for a group of 20 adults. EVERY single person said they had a great time, commented through the day on how much fun they were having, and thanked ME for selecting the venue! Everyone there was very helpful, food was great, attractions were SO FUN (my first time to play laser tag!), loved the bumper cars and ropes - and we truly did enjoy the team building experience. Kudos to Sandy, Marshall, Gerri and the rest of her team for being so hospitable and treating us like rockstars! Will be back soon - count on it!! read more

Warning: don't go if you or your child have food allergies. We were invited by friends to try this place out. Looks great and we were planning to be there all day. My son is 6 and has several anaphylactic food allergies. I called ahead as I always do to see if there was a menu item or 2 that he could safely eat--ex. cheese pizza or nuggets/fries. Usually this is not a problem. Here it was. They were unable to work with me for any menu item. So, I asked to bring food in for just my son. Again, this has never been a problem at other places. Here it was. So, my 6 year old could not eat their food nor was he allowed to bring in something to eat. Later, after we decided that we could not go here, they called back and said he could bring in ONE item to eat but only ONE. Well, he's 6 and eats like a horse so ONE thing wasn't going to be a workable solution. read more

I had a birthday party on Saturday with 20 kids who attended. We where told I'd have two party host. It started out that way then ended up being 1 party host. She was fantastic she made sure to help me set up, get the kids shoe's, get the food, and most importantly she interactive with all kid's. Then I was given new party host. I wasn't happy at all. The lady we had was wonderful. Her name was Jess she was the sweetest girl. I have no idea why they took her away from my party. My son enjoyed her company. She made sure he was center of attention. Pinstack seems to be disorganized and they seem to change party host often. For this reason I will no longer go to pinstack. Why would I book a party then end up getting 3 different host. The person I feel sorry for is Jess. And if she reads this Jess you where a fantastic Host. I want nothing to do with Pinstack ever. read more

My husband came to Pinstack Plano, Texas today with his company for a bowling outing. He is a league bowler with 222 average. The lanes are not oiled, rubber on top. No way can his shoes slide as he bowls. His Storm reactive Resin balls don't react as they should. We will NEVER SPEND ANY MONEY AT THIS HORRIBLE BOWLING ALLEY. Went on a busy Saturday night with reservations and had a great time!! We reserved three lanes that came with delicious food and drinks all for only $20 plus tip! Our group had the tacos, mozzarella sticks, pizza, chicken wings with fries, and mac-n-cheese balls. Our host Mary was super attentive and helped make our already fun evening even better. I came to pinstack on Saturday night. Place is cool. Rude bartender. Asked me for my ID after I ordered a beer. He looks at myID for almost an entire minute. Asks me to repeat my birth date. I repeat it back. He still looks unsure and hands my ID back to me as he is laughing and makes it seem like he is doing me a favor by letting me drink at his bar. I am 23 years old, and have worked in the service industry for 7 years. It's not a big deal but pinstack should train their bartenders how to properly check ID and not make their customers feel un welcome or as if they are doing me a favor by letting me drink. I had a regional meeting with my team of district managers. We were looking for an opportunity to give back to the community, have some fun, and do some team building. By far, this was the best experience I've ever had at a team event. We made backpacks for underprivileged kids while playing some really fun and interesting games...which was even more fun due to the competitive nature of my group. The facility was clean and the staff was friendly. The entertainment choices were diverse and will ensure a wide range of preferences are served. Every member of my team had an amazing time. The bumper cars were awesome and the ropes course, while not friendly to my fear of heights, offered a great chance for people to conquer fears with the support of the group. This place was fantastic and I highly recommend checking it out for your next corporate event. Well I took my wife and kids there last night and man oh man we had a gooood time. My company had a fun day Thursday March 26th and had to take my family back. First the food: really really good and nice size portions. There was a 2 hour wait for bowling so we decided to eat first. I don't know if this was the owner but seems like it was but really really nice man came to our table to talk to us to make sure we was ok and just to see how we Like the place. That was the beginning of a good night. That means alot so thank you to the owner for doing that. Then another manager passed by and checked on us. I think other companies need to learn from pin stack. Anyway: The food was great, I wish I ordered the nachos because other people had nachos and was in a huge portion but don't worry, I'm going back for them. Then we took the kids to play until our bowling lane was ready. What a time we had. Your money go a long way here. Yes we put aloooot of money on our card but it went a long way. Me and my wife even wal climed, my kids played all kinds of games. Me and my wife both said this place is waaaay better that Dave and Busters and main event. Pin stack is way more kid friendly also. The workers were really nice. We played so much we didn't even want to bowl. We wanted to just stay in the gaming area which we did. The only reason for 4 star because we waited 2 hours for bowling then was told it'll be another hour bc they waiting on a big party to leave. We went back to gaming area and we were having so much fun we didn't want to bowl so when the little thing notified us our lane was ready we gave it to another couple that would've had a long wait. I LOVE PIN STACK. To the owner, please don't change anything, please don't get ideas from any other place because you have something special. OH I forgot to put my wife and kids on the bumper cars, that's how much fun we were having. AGAIN if this makes it to the owner, thanks for bringing this to dfw and thanks for your hospitality. This is a cool concept that is going to clearly fail due to horrendous service. I went shortly after it opened and thought all their shortcomings were due to growing pains. Went back recently and it hadn't gotten better possibly worse. Poor operation, poor service, seems understaffed but I've seen more done with a lot less, average wait time for a drink at least 15 minutes after order placed. With this many major problems this has to be a reflection of poor management that fosters a culture in which no one seems to care about a positive customer experience. read more

Pin Prick is more like it. You can be in the 10th frame of your game and if your paid time runs out (and it will run out - the pin machines certainly take their time resetting) not only will your game abruptly end but your score will disappear and you will be told to beat it. Luckily, any inclination one might have to return in the future is extinguished by the memory of how expensive this place is. Two stars for the full bar and lots of games. read more
