My husband came to Pinstack Plano, Texas today with his company for a bowling outing. He is a league bowler with 222 average. The lanes are not oiled, rubber on top. No way can his shoes slide as he bowls. His Storm reactive Resin balls don't react as they should. We will NEVER SPEND ANY MONEY AT THIS HORRIBLE BOWLING ALLEY. This is a cool concept that is going to clearly fail due to horrendous service. I went shortly after it opened and thought all their shortcomings were due to growing pains. Went back recently and it hadn't gotten better possibly worse. Poor operation, poor service, seems understaffed but I've seen more done with a lot less, average wait time for a drink at least 15 minutes after order placed. With this many major problems this has to be a reflection of poor management that fosters a culture in which no one seems to care about a positive customer experience. read more

Pin Prick is more like it. You can be in the 10th frame of your game and if your paid time runs out (and it will run out - the pin machines certainly take their time resetting) not only will your game abruptly end but your score will disappear and you will be told to beat it. Luckily, any inclination one might have to return in the future is extinguished by the memory of how expensive this place is. Two stars for the full bar and lots of games. read more

Awesome family place. We love the 'over the arcade' rope obstacle course. Awesome food, lots of different activities including laser tag, rock climbing, rope obstacle course, bowling, bumper cars, and of course, arcade. It's a huge upgrade from main event and the staff is friendly. Would recommend this place to anyone with kids and looking for fun. read more

Pricey, but fun! Don't get the food- it was horrible. My hummus was fizzy so I sent that back and got nachos. They were basically a huge bowl of chips with tons of lettuce and a glob of old guacamole. Very disappointing. read more

I came to pinstack on Saturday night. Place is cool. Rude bartender. Asked me for my ID after I ordered a beer. He looks at myID for almost an entire minute. Asks me to repeat my birth date. I repeat it back. He still looks unsure and hands my ID back to me as he is laughing and makes it seem like he is doing me a favor by letting me drink at his bar. I am 23 years old, and have worked in the service industry for 7 years. It's not a big deal but pinstack should train their bartenders how to properly check ID and not make their customers feel un welcome or as if they are doing me a favor by letting me drink. I can go somewhere else. He was a white male about 25-30 years old working last Saturday night. read more

Booked Pinstack for our corporate event. A great time was has by all. Our sales rep handled everything from start to finish and all I had to do was show up. The worst place ever. I know it's new and they are working out the kinks but this was just the worst. We sat in the patio area, which was nice. There were heaters to keep you warm on this chilly day. Good luck shaking down a bartender to take a drink or food order. There was one guy there. There were 3 others but they didn't take any orders they were just making drinks for other areas. We waited for 30 minutes and finally asked the waiter if we could order. We waited for and hour for a cheeseburger and macaroni cheese bites. COME ON! I asked for garlic Parmesan fries because I heard Greta things about it. Well I didn't get that and when I told the man I didn't think these were garlic fries. He told me that was what he put in, NoT let me fix that and get you what you wanted. I just said ok because again, we have officially been there for an hour and a half and I was hungry When I got my check he in fact did not ring in what I asked for and I mentioned it again. I got an I'm sorry I thought I did. Terrible service. We wanted to spend the night there doing stuff but we were so turned off by the service we didn't want to spend another dime in there. We booked a package for our daughter as a going away party for her and her friends. She is 11 yrs old. My husband specified that we did not need a host as this was not a birthday party, but we did not expect that no host meant NO SERVICE. When we showed up the first young man apparently placed us in the wrong room even though on our paperwork it said room #3. We were then moved out of that room to another room, so we had to pick up all of our stuff and change rooms. Then we were just kind of left alone. Finally my husband went to the desk to inquire about our bowling shoes. We booked for 20 people to eat, bowl and play games. This is not a cheap place. We paid over $600. You would think for this price there would be some level of service. After we finally got the kids bowling, I inquired to 3 different people about preparing the food before we finally found a young lady to assist. Bless her heart she must have been new. We received one plate of food with tenders and fries to feed 20 kids. I then asked her about drinks and condiments. It took her 20 minutes or greater to get drinks and condiments. After we had only been in the room about 20 minutes we were told we would have to leave because they needed the room. At this point we had only received 2 pitchers of drinks to feed 20 kids, really???? I plainly stated we had just got in the room due to their negligence in preparing the food timely. The staff basically kept coming in and looking at us. I finally moved our group to the back table so my child could open her gifts from her friends. The staff promptly took that as their opportunity to clean the room while we were still in the room. I asked but as far as I know never saw a manager. The tenders and fries were good. Although we barely got condiments for them. When I asked for ketchup they brought 4 bottles that were basically empty and based on other reviews I just read, this seems to be the common theme. The kids enjoyed the bowling and they do have a large game room. I would be very skeptical about booking another part here, host or no host. read more

Cool looking place, good looking restaurant menu, fun games, but...food sucks (cold food on two separate occasions), and tonight told 45 min wait to bowl and after one hour, "the computer system crashed" and informed we had to wait another hour. I really wanted to support this place, but I think we will stick with Main Event. read more

I visited Pinstack for the first time last weekend with my family. I must say I was very disappointed in the food & service we were provided that night. The waitress, Jordan, was sweet but lacked knowledge on the food and what the menu had to offer. I inquired about certain entrees and her response was "I don't know." We asked for lids for our paper cups that we received our beverages in and she said they didn't have lids but yet there were customers who had them at another table across from us. I ordered an appetizer platter. First off the chips on the platter were greasy and cold, the chicken waffle appetizer was cold & hard, and the mozzarella sticks here super salty. I was very upset paying $48 for an appetizer platter with poor quality food. We asked for paper napkins the waitress brings back another set of utensil sets with more silverware. Smh. Really. I don't know if it was her first day or what but whoever trained this young lady needs to go back to training on being a server and providing customer service. I can say this that at this point I wouldn't refer anyone to try the restaurant part of Pinstack. As for the arcade section, it was nice, but I think I could have had a better experience at Main Event or Dave & Buster's. read more

ok so I've been in the restaurant industry before for many years and know what good service is. This restaurant was terrible! If this review was strictly based on the restaurant and not the whole bowling alley experience, it would receive zero stars if possible. It was the worst customer service I've ever had. The server had to go back and check on a simple question of ours three times only to come back and still not be able to give us a coherent answer. Not only that, but our drinks took 20 min to come to our table and he didn't have a clue what was on the menu. Then one of the other servers running the food sent one of our burgers to the wrong table, watched the wrong table's children pick apart our burger only for the parents to say that it wasn't theirs, then she tries to still serve the burger to us after another customers' hands have been touching and dissecting our food! Disgusting. The bowling aspect of this place was great and I have nothing but praise for that part. We got VIP seating without paying the price for it, which was the only reason I didn't complain when our two hour time window we did pay for was cut short because of the horribly slow service in the restaurant area before our lanes were ready. read more

This was my first time at pinstack and I wish my experience was better than it was. My son absolutely loved the arcade and my husband and I really enjoyed them as well. The restaurant experience was awful. I ordered the fish tacos. Weren't the best but they were decent. My son had the chicken tenders and as long as there was hot sauce he will say there delicious. My husband ordered the mahi mahi with Brussels sprouts( only thing he could have due to a specific diet) after 30 minutes of waiting for his food( my son and I was on our last bite) a manager FINALLY came to our table to apologize. She offered to get him something else while he waited for his order. She stated the the kitchen was not fully prepped and it would be about 10-15mins longer. His food arrived almost an hour after we had sat down. Absolutely unacceptable. Had he not been starving we would have said to cancel. Working In The restaurant industry for over 6 years I was appealed at the customer service that we received by the manager. Our server was very nice but he didn't even know why his order was taking so long. This place isn't far from my home and I was looking forward to a new fun place to take my son. I'm hoping to give them another shot to see if they can turn this experience around. read more

We wanted to try out a new bowling place and it ended up being a horrible, costly experience. The wait was over an hour for a lane. I couldn't get anyone to serve us while we waited. Had to end up getting our own menu and grabbing a waitress to help us. The food was bland. To be expected. At this point I'm trying to continue to keep my 5 year old occupied. We got our lane and had to wait an additional 15 minutes for the previous guest to leave and have staff clean the table.... I went to speak to a manager . I explained our situation, He was polite and said he would refund our money and give us a free game in VIP room. The lane was great, good amount of oil. No problems the rest of the night. Until I looked at my bank statement. The manager refunded half of my first lane and then charged me for the VIP room.... the exact opposite of what he told me. I have spoken to anther manager and no luck with getting money back... just be aware. read more

I visited this week at a corporate event, so everything was included. I'd never been, and was pleasantly surprised. The facility itself was clean, inviting, and didn't have that grungy "bowling alley" feel to it. There was a wall that seperated 2 bowling areas and it seemed to help the noise level. There was SO much to do, and we did it all-we bowled, did the rock climbing wall, bumper cars, laser tag, and walked on the feature that is above the arcade-not sure what it was called but it was cool enough to give you a thrill, but you also felt safe. If I HAD to come up with a negative, I would say the food could have been better-our event had burgers, chicken, chips, pasta salad, and cake balls. It was just Ok. What blew me away was the staff. Every single person we encountered were so kind and helpful, and they all went above and beyond. Rudy was amazing, he helped my son get a stuffed animal that he won out of a machine that somehow got stuck in the claw's grip, and refunded his card for the swipes he spent trying to dislodge it. Another employee walked by as my son dropped his armful of prizes (they were pretty easy to win!) and the guy helped my son pick them up, and then said, "hey buddy, let me go get you a bag to carry your prizes!". Those are just a couple of examples, but literally everyone we encountered, from the guy at the shoe counter to the food servers in the event room-they're all rock-stars! It's really hard to find that kind of geniune, customer service-oriented staff nowadays. I can't wait to go back! read more

I don't know why this place has such a low rating because I LOVED it here!!! We were trying to put together a last minute birthday celebration of sorts for one of my friends and came in at about 6:00 on 10/17/15, asking for seating for 20(I had called previously but the young lady I spoke on the phone with told me they do not accept reservations, even though the phone prompts you to select a number for restaurant reservations). When we arrived and asked for the table, the hostess and another young man got a manager and he was very accommodating and was even able to give us a room that was sort of sectioned off from the main restaurant area. We had a setup for 20 by around 6:30, which is amazing given the short notice! The food was deeeelicious! I had the burger and we also ordered pizza, game nachos, and the macaroni balls(scrumptious!) for the guests coming. Unfortunately, not all of our guests came and we only ended up with 9 guests. Even so, the manager allowed us to stay in that area. The manager (I can't remember his name) came to check on us every now and then and the waitress was prompt, courteous, and professional. Everyone made sure that we were happy! After singing happy birthday and handing out the cupcakes, we played games and played laser tag. It was awesome! I am always weary of going to places like these, because service usually isn't really that good--but Pinstack really offers a unique experience in that they offer A+ service along with the unique opportunities to rock climb indoors, drive bumper cars indoors, play two-level laser tag, and climb a high ropes obstacle course. I was so impressed by how accommodating the manager and the other Pinstack team members were that I am actually booking my brother's birthday party here! The rates for the birthday parties are very reasonable given the packages offered. If you haven't already, please check Pinstack out! The only thing that could be better is the size of establishment. I wish the game area was larger for more space for the activities and games! Other than that, I loved it here! read more

For those of you that think this is just another Dave & Busters, it's not! Yes, there's games and yes there's bowling, but there's also an obstacle course located above the arcade, rock climbing, bumper cars, two level laser tag and more! The look and feel of the space is very inviting as soon as you walk in. The restaurant area is very large and also includes a covered patio that is perfect for warm weather and large parties. There are plenty of lanes for bowling and there's also an enclosed area with private lanes for special events. In addition to the bar located in the restaurant area, there is another bar right by the lanes so you don't have to travel far for a drink-or you can ask your server. The first time I came here, we booked a birthday party that included food & drinks-the platters are HUGE and very affordable! They seriously gave us so much food we couldn't even finish it and there was like 10 of us. I went recently with a party of about 8 girls, and we all had a really great time. We were a guest for a birthday party which my son was invited through school. We arrived 10 minutes early, walk in and ask the female host where the party is, she pointed out to walk straight down to the bowling alley and it will be in Room 4. I got there and there were people already inside but it wasn't our party... so I figured that we must be early and that the people inside are finishing up. So we waited outside the room and sat on the stools. At exactly 3:00pm, the people were still in the room so I'm wondering what is going on? Then I asked a runner outside is the room ready for a birthday party which I pointed out the name of the party. She responded and said yeah they are finishing up and will be out shortly. So I waited till 3:10pm and then I walk back out to the front and asked a different female host and this one told me it was at the Private Room with the big screen, finally we got to the right room but we were like almost 15 minutes late and the kids have already ate and almost finishing up the pizzas. Disappointed at the service there, I will not be doing any birthday for my son anytime in the future at this place. read more

We came for my sister's birthday tonight with a group of 5 adults and her two children under 5. We paid for two lanes for two hours and we were enjoying our time and having fun. A group of 10 or 12 people started playing in the two lanes to the left of us and right away we could tell they had had too much to drink. The first time the drunkest girl from their party walked through our area we looked at each and said "ok, let's let it be" Ya'll know how tight that space is between the couch and your little table. Then a man from their group did the same and we looked at each other and knew they were messing with us, then the first girl looked us in the eyes and tried to walk her drunk tail through our area and we said "No ma'am. Please go back over there with your friends and stop walking through our space where the kids are trying to play". She didn't like that and stepped up to my moms face, of course I then stood up and said "oh no, it's not about to go down like this. Step back and go back to your area." Drunk mob mentality took over and they swarmed us, that's when management came and took us to the side and asked what was going on. When they got the stories they took us to the back to the "VIP" area but then insisted we hurry with our game because kids weren't allowed in after 9pm. It's 11pm, if that was the case why did you move us instead of the drunk people disrupting our family time? After they said that we just decided to go and asked for a refund for our remaining time since we were being rushed to finish our game. We did'nt want a refund for our entire game, simply the last part of it we couldn't enjoy because they were rushing out of an area they moved us to in the first place. They would not give us a refund and wanted instead to give us a game card for our trouble.... are you kidding me, a game card?! Why would we want to stick around a play games after being treated that way? It cost use almost $200 for our lanes and time we couldn't enjoy and you want to give us a game card?! What should have happened was the group of drunk people should have been escorted from the building for disorderly conduct and our game comped for the inconvenience. I'm calling corporate in the morning because we shouldn't have been moved and then rushed to finish our game when WE the sober people with kids playing simply wanted the drunk party of people to stop walking through our area read more

We have come here on three occasions. The first two times we waited over 2 hours to get a lane and one never came available so we kept busy playing the arcade games which were fun but had a few mishaps where we had to grab an attendant. On the third visit we FINALLY got to go bowling. We reserved one hour. During that time we had to call maintenance more than once. The first time our lane and our neighbors lane was eating the bowling balls and had to get someone to fix this and neither of us were given back the time we missed or an apology. The second time our pins stopped dropping so we called maintenance. No one helped us for over 10 minutes so we grabbed a manager who was walking by us and completely ignored our situation. He tried to reset the lane and we had to stop him again to let him know his "quick fix" wasn't working. The only person who seemed to know what was going on was our waiter Harper. He was awesome! Our lane was finally fixed yet we never got our full time back. We will not be returning. read more

We came to bowl and eat, but we're shocked by the price for an hour of bowling ($34!!). Apparently it was "peak hours", but there were probably ten open lanes the entire time we were there. We had a great time bowling, it's very clean and doesn't have that funky bowling alley smell. You can order drinks and food for your table, so we got a pizza and tried* to order margaritas. The waitress helping our table got the pizza order at the start of our time and then spent an hour chatting with another table across the alley. We tried to get another waiter to order our drinks but not a single person came back to our area all night. Kind of disappointing because we were having a great time and probably would have extended our time had we gotten drinks and more food. I'm sure we will return for a second chance, but they need a waitstaff that is actually going to attend to customers and maybe reconsider the whole "peak pricing" situation when it isn't busy. read more

Pinstack is a really new place, and after a wonderful Mother/Daughter event there, we decided to have our daughter's 10th bday party here this last weekend. We signed up for "The Spiller" package, and had originally estimated 15 kids, but by sheer happenstance, most of the kids invited RSVP'd YES, putting our total at double. The final bill was pretty hefty, but I knew that was a risk when I reserved this venue. Pinstack did a very good job of accommodating our change in attendees. All the kids had a blast, and I have gotten some texts today from parents saying what a great time their child had at the party. The party attendants did a good job getting the kids organized for bowling, and with getting the food served when it was time. One tip: DO fill out the form they send you with the kids' shoe sizes so they can have the bowling shoes ready right when guests get there. It was a little chaotic getting shoes, which took a decent chunk of time away from our bowling time. Here are three things that could be buttoned up in my opinion: 1) For some reason Pinstack works off of more than one system, so changes made to our party did not get translated to the other system. There was some confusion around # of kids participating when we first got there, but thankfully they were able to work it out and accommodate us. 2) I work in the food industry, so anytime I see people handling food without gloves, I cringe. If their attendants cut cake and serve food, they need to wear food-safe gloves, and it would be great if they had antibacterial gel for the guests, 3) It is impossible to monitor and track all kids in the game area. I was a bit worried about being able to tell if all 30 kids had been picked up (they are at an age where parents tend to "drop off"). I think a colored wrist band of some sort might have made it easier for the adults to tell what kids were part of our party, and if the adults had worn the same color, probably would have made it easier for kids in our party to identify their "home base" adults. Overall, it was a great experience for our daughter and her friends, which was really what it was all about that day! read more

I've been to the place multiple times and have had ok to terrible experiences each time. This time was the last straw. The problems began when a waiter came to us to order food. We put in our order, then 10 minutes after we placed it, Jared, the manager, came to inform us the kitchen closes at 11. We ordered our food at 10:50, and it was basic things like hummus and bread and chips with salsa, something that doesn't even require an oven. After that my buddy asked for a glass of cranberry juice (which a full service bar has on fountain) to Jared ("the manager") and 2 different waiters, including our first waiter. After 45 minutes the drink never came and my buddy just gave up. Lastly, we were pestered and rushed 10 minutes before they closed to finish our arcade games, and threatened to shut them off. I understand if it is past closing or right at 12, but rushing us to get done early isn't the right thing to do. If you, as an employee or manager, have a problem with the establishment being opened till 12, talk to your owner, not peg it on the customers. I'm not even sure why we even continue to come here after the previous bad experiences, but this was the last time for sure. read more

Tried for the first time on a Saturday night. 2hour wait for a lane. The drink service was very slow and didn't always bring the right drinks. The lanes are very poorly managed. While we were waiting there were at least 4 lanes open. Apparently they give people 10 minutes to show up before reassigning the lane. On a very busy Saturday night, not a good idea. Especially since you can watch the wait list on your phone. Plus they were actually giving people more than 10 minutes. We were finally assigned lane 19, but had to ask people to leave our area, since they were just drinking & eating. Turns out we knew someone & they said leave their appetizers for us. Another waiter took it all away while we were bowling. We had an extra drink on our tab that had to be removed. Server Aamir was great after the 1st guy we had. Technical difficulties with the lane took 15 minutes to get our ball back, then a few minutes later, it needed service again to reset pins. The maintenance people were pretty slow as well. It was clean & the light make it look nice. Didn't eat there so can't say how the food is. Right at midnight, a very large crowd came in with at least 6 small children, all under 5, which they did not supervise. They kept letting the kids wander into both our area & lane. Of course, the adults were just as unruly! On the whole, NOT a great experience. Only would go back if we can reserve lanes online ahead, & they change their policies regarding small children after 11pm. read more

AN ABOMINATION. This is a place for people who think Main Event is too cheap and efficient. They've got, I don't know, 4 lanes. The reason I can't really tell you how many lanes they have is that we never got to see them. All I know is it isn't enough to justify the name Pinstack or any association with bowling. We waited 3 hours and found out they'd lied to us twice, never called us to tell us our wait had changed (by multiple hours). We'd already gone to the restaurant area by that time. After another long wait, 2 people didn't get their food and had to re-order. Once everyone else had eaten, their food arrived. It was pretty much standard bar food, except, you know, more expensive. One girl ordered the Buffalo wings and said they were "Awful. If Wendy's served Buffalo Wings, they'd probably be better than this." Anyway, after pretty much a full night of sitting around in this large, uncomfortable noise box and accomplishing almost nothing of what we'd set out to do, we all just decided to leave. It was pretty much the worst service I'd gotten anywhere. Several employees accused us of lying. The manager wanted to invite us back for some special complementary package deal, but I don't see why I would want to reward a place for being terrible. If we want to have a good time, there's a lot of better, cheaper places out there. I certainly wouldn't go there for any special event where I wanted things to go right. I can see how this place might appeal to some families, because I think a good number of adults like to go sit at the restaurant or bar while their children run around the arcade and bowling alley unsupervised. They probably love it. I just know I won't ever go there again. read more

Have been 3 times (Shame on me for going back, but have had negative experiences each time) I first went when it opened. My family and I decided to eat in the cafe they have on site. Bless the kids heart but they had 1 server taking care of at least 8 tables, and he did not know what he was doing. Second time I had multiple problems with my lane, and I requested a lane change as there were at least 5 others open. The manger told me it's not the lane, and wouldn't let me switch? He never told us sorry for the inconvenience, but rather seemed irritated he had to fix it..:sorry if my ball is not returned and the gate guarding the pins stays down, I guess that is my fault... 3rd time I went was the Sunday night before MLK day, bowling alley was jumping so I got my name on the waiting list, the high schooler told me it would be over two hours, so we decided to go eat at shops at legacy and come back, got a text 27min later saying my lane was ready...I'm done with pinstack. read more

Well I've seen this place service on walk ins and reserved parties and honestly. The food looks good for the first five minutes it's warm. Afterwards the pizza looks like dry cheese on card board. I peaked in a room and saw a short Hispanic girl eat out of the mozerella sticks and chicken tenders we had ordered. Disgusted me and I never went back. The bowling alley right when we got on was messed up and they try compensating for it by adding time but if there's a wait sometimes they didn't even do that. Honestly there's a problem with the alleys like every ten minutes and they add time but it wastes time. I don't want to sit there while I wait for them. The people are polite but that's the least I would expect when their electronics are messed up. There's chubby worker there who had an attitude with me bussing my table and on top of that another one of their Buss boys are delusional who walks around with his music in and doesn't even respond to you when you need something.
