They always welcomed us whenever we arrived at the hotel. Our room was large, clean, and well laid out. The bed was among the most comfortable in any hotel I've stayed in. This aloft is conveniently located right off the highway in Dallas, which makes it really easy to find and also easy to get back on the road quickly the following morning. Location aside, Roshana on their staff was very friendly at check in, and Melanie was very friendly the next morning at check out. The hotel rooms were clean, and the showers had good shampoo/conditioner/body wash. The beds were solid and freshly made as well. They have a hotel bar in the lobby too, for those that would be interested in having a drink before bed. Overall, it was a good experience! read more

If you're looking for a cool place to hang out with your friends and enjoy the lobby or pool area, this might be for you. But if you're a tired traveler and want to retire to your room and just relax, you may be a little disappointed. I found my room to be clean, but very dark. I had to turn on every light in the room and the bathroom to provide ample lighting to do my makeup in the morning. The shower is very dark, even though it's all glass. The food selection is pretty limited. Basically whatever you see in the cooler or on the counter is what you get to choose from. The service was good. The cleanliness is what other hotels should set their standards at, the staff was incredibly accommodating and knowledgeable, and for the most part it had all the necessary amenities. I do wish the breakfast was included, but something unique to this location is they have a plinko giveaway at check-in for Bonvoy members where you can win everything from breakfast to bonus points. I was working in the lobby area and was approached by an employee (Marcin) who asked how my stay was going and if there was anything I needed - this is the first time someone preemptively checked in before there was an issue. This was the very first time I have ever stayed in this Marriott chain. The hotel was eclectic, trendy and simpliy contemporary. The room was clean, comfortable and roomy. I love the shower area which was all tiled and close completely sealed. In the lobby, they had a pool table set aside with trendy comfortable seating along with a cool bar area. Upon check in, we get informed that we will be disturbed at 8am (6am my time), so that new mattresses can be delivered. I was of course not happy about that because I wanted to sleep in since I was so sleep deprived but that obviously didn't matter to them. They never went over any amenity such as where the gym was, the breakfast, etc. just the disclaimer that we would incur an inconvenient wake up call the next morning. 8am rolls around and I had anxiety waiting for delivery guys to roll into our room early, so I woke up early to clear the beds. Of course they didn't come. We wanted to grab something to eat but were afraid the delivery guys would come in when we were gone so we spent some time unpacking our valuables so we could take them with us. A few hours later, around 1pm, we return to the hotel to find 2 delivery guys, 3 housekeepers, and two hotel staff occupying our small room...awesome. I told them I was exhausted and wanted to hurry this along so I could rest before checking out earlier than I anticipated due to a scheduling conflict back home. They finally took both mattresses and then said "ok we're done." I then asked them if they were seriously going to just leave us with NO beds and the employee Kelly responded "well you're checking out early so you won't need one!" Are you kidding me?!?! I told her it was none of her business when I was actually checking out because I was prepaid until the following day. Furthermore, I didn't need to explain to her why I would like a bed in my hotel room! She continued to argue with my friend which we both were left in shock by. I finally told her that I was running on about 4 hours of sleep and I wanted all 6 of the strangers out of my room. The housekeepers then started actually trying to clean the bathroom after the mattress was finally in and I had to tell them 4 times to please leave. The experience was just ridiculous. The timing for changing the mattresses was retarded and the staff was clueless. The hotel was a glorified wanna be W hotel in the middle of a burnt field with nothing to see or do. We were literally the only people staying there. I never saw ANYONE other than the employees. What a complete joke. read more

This is one of the worst hotels I have stayed in. I understand COVID has made come challenges but dirty laundry and garbage has been sitting in hallways for the last 2 days with nobody picking it up. The toilet started leaking water and I was told they could not come into the room due to COVID. I was not offered another room, and when I told the front desk I will not be responsible for water damage they said they would try and have maintenance fix it. Within the next 8 hours toilet was leaking again. Multiple family members are in town for an event and everyone has had some terrible experience. Aside from all the issues the hotel is nowhere near any of the shops, restaurants or entertainment. If you make the mistake of staying at Aloft, at least the Frisco Aloft is near civilization. read more

I would NEVER stay here again. This hotel is literally the bottom of the barrel. Outside your like ok... then you go in and it all changes. I arrive and immediately check my room like always to find a stained bed. Not just one stain, the entire bed full of black stains, makeup stains. Absolutely disgusting. The pillows had stains on them and smelled like they had never been washed. The towels had hairs on them and the shower had shampoo or soap streaks down the glass I switch rooms and get a better room, still smells like musk and overlooks the pull. I pull the sheets back and what would you know??? STAINS!!! These sheets are so old the stains are permanently on the bedding. I have never been so uncomfortable in all my life in a hotel and had to stay there 6 days prepaid with my company! The air would run non stop on 78 degrees setting and was freezing cold in my room... People sat out at the pool until 12-1 AM talking so loud I was on the 4th floor and could hear EVERY single word they said. The bar area is the size of a toothpick, dirty as hell and offers about 3 food selections for you. Not like u wanna eat that anyways! Your better off licking the floor. The hotel is old and gross and there's WAYYYY better hotels 1-3 blocks all over to go to without people yelling like drunk idiots that can't afford a renaissance and don't have jobs apparently to go to in the morning! After a long drive from Las Vegas we were just happy to be back in Dallas. I found this hotel while searching online. It had decent reviews and looked nice in photos so I was like #heckyea! sign me up. First, let me just say this: The area itself is great. I used to work for a company situated in that complex. It's close to public transportation and there is access to many restaurants. You have most of what you need right there so you don't have to go too far on your lunch break. Very walkable and nice. Now, let's get to the hotel. The surrounding, again, lovely and peaceful. The hotel itself, I expected a little more, but it is pretty basic. Parking is sparse in the lot and I'm not entirely sure that it's only for those who've paid to stay because anyone can enter. The design and decor didn't really do anything for me. In fact, there was a certain flow missing. The hallway that lead to our room was lined with these heavy, metal, brown-grey painted doors. For some reason, it reminds me somewhat of a hostel. The room was lackluster and the furniture seemed more on the lower end. The shower was nice and spacious. The only issue was that the shower door pushes in rather than out. If you know what I mean? When you are trying to get out of the shower you have to pull the door towards you which means you need to move to make space for it rather than it opening outward and clearing space for you. Also we checked in as a couple and for some reason there was only towels for a single person as well as only one complementary bottle of water. The toilet ... Y'all, I was dead sleep when my bf decided to go to the bathroom. Suddenly I'm awakened by the sound of something heavy crashing. I jump up, my heart racing. The first thought was that the sink fell to the ground and exploded. Why? I'll tell you in a minute. But, no, it was simply the sound of the toilet being flushed. Now, back to why I thought it was the sink falling. Well, some time during our stay we noticed a good sized puddle of water had built up on the floor near/under the sink. We wiped it up and moved on with our day only to discover it again later. I'm thinking that it happened when we turned on the faucet, but we couldn't actually find any evidence of that. It could have been from the mini fridge which sat in a cubby next to the sink. Either way, there's an issue. The positives were that the staff was really nice, fast and helpful. The cable channels were decent (unlike other hotels I've visited) and they have a little bar area and lounge downstairs if you want to just chill. read more

Three stars! If I had only stayed one night it'd be 5 easy. Checked in Friday afternoon and the front desk was very friendly. Beds were great-appeared clean*, and when I called Saturday morning and asked if we could get breakfast brought up to our room they were happy to oblige. I wish I had got the mans name, he was great! (I saw when I wrote this review that they don't have room service, but I am glad he did a little extra because it made my stay) So now why this place lost two stars. Well first, I'm a very easy going person. I don't get bent out of shape over little things when it comes to hotels. I'm usually not in them for any length of time other than to sleep. So when my pillow shams have blood/brown drool stains on them, I get a little uneasy. Lol Two of the four where dirty, but it made me wonder if they even check them after every stay? I didn't report it to the desk because I didn't uncover it til the next morning. I only use one so the others were pushed to the side. Be sure to check before you lay down! BUT considering the people who were working the desk that day, I am sure it would've been taken care of immediately. Now onto the noise levels here. Unless you blast your TV, you will hear EVERYTHING. My last night was spent trying to drown out the sounds of my neighbors sexual conquests. It was ridiculous and it went on til 8 am the next day. Lastly, on the day of our check out, the front desk was rude and even hung up on me when I called and asked for some info. Nice, comfy, clean beds and rooms. The hotel is ideal for people on a short business trip, not really a hotel for a romantic getaway or an extended family stay. There is no restaurant - only an area where you can purchase 'snack food' like you'd find at a gas station and they do have a bar. FREE SHUTTLE service within 5 miles which took me every night to and from the local 'Shops at Legacy' - good food! The pool is small - maybe only 12-18 feet long and maybe 8-12 feet wide. The gym was nice, clean, convenient - used it everyday I was there! (Free headphones and towels in there to use) Stayed here for 4 nights (Tuesday through Friday) and was there for business - my company booked this hotel for me and I was pleased. I would definitely recommend this hotel. I only gave 4/5 stars because of the lack of a restaurant (fresh food to order) and due to the info about happy hour not being updated on the TV screens in-room resulting in me paying full price for a drink. read more

This place is fantastic! My boyfriend and I stayed here after booking through priceline. We couldn't have been more impressed. One of the main reasons we choose this hotel is because of its pet policy. We were allowed to bring our 15lb mini Australian Shepherd here without paying a pet fee. They also offered us dog toys and a dog bed if needed. The interior of this hotel is also super chic. I love the modern decor and the rotating colors on the bar top are excellent! The sitting area near the bar also offers a lot of fun things for people of all ages. Tons of board games are available and just a short distance away is a pool table. The rooms are also very nice. Sleek and modern, but not cold at all. I would love to decorate my room at home like their hotel rooms. The close proximity to Stonebriar Mall was also very convenient for holiday shopping. read more

I stayed at this property on Friday, 08/24/2018 with my mother for a brief overnight trip to Dallas. I have previously stayed at this location over five years ago and remembered staying here - this is why I sought out the same location! I have stayed with other Aloft locations and been very pleased. This is hotel chain does not charge for a pet fee and/or deposit and since we were traveling with my mother's dog this was very important. The AC worked well; the bed and linens were good. However, my biggest complaint with the hotel was this: THERE WAS NO HOT WATER IN THE SHOWER OR THE SINK. I let the water run for a solid five minutes in the shower and nothing but cool water! By the time that we discovered there was no hot water we had been settled into the room for well over three hours with the dog and there was no chance that we wanted to relocate. I reported the issue to the front desk on Friday evening and asked to speak with the Manager on Saturday morning. The young man at the desk informed me he was the manager and when I explained the situation - he offered me $20 in breakfast vouchers. That said, the Social Media/Twitter Team for SPG was quite responsive and they informed me that I would receive a follow-up from the hotel. FOLLOW-UP: 09/02/2018 The manager never reached out via phone, to my knowledge - as a I travel frequently for work, but she did email and gave me 5,000 Points on my SPG Rewards - not sure what I'm going to do with them, especially considering the actual points for the hotel stay in question never posted and shows no record of me staying at this location. read more

There is no ice on each floor though they do have a machine on floor 5 and a washer/dryer. So for a $100+ night this is a 4 Star. The lobby is like walking into a bar so at first I thought "am I at the right place?". Then I just realized it's just a different model. Rooms are minimal but just what you need comfortable clean. And no bedspreads. Yeah! I overlooked the parking lot - don't think you can avoid that. So wouldn't reco if u want to languish in bed and get room service(they don't have it). What they do have is a serve yourself cappuccino machine and it was good. I stayed twice in aLoft and I'm pretty happy with it. The simple and efficient rooms are certainly the same in every hotel of this chain. There is a small breakfast area, where you can find some healthy food options in the morning. The lobby, bar, meeting area share common space, modern and comfortable. The bar tender is super nice and always has something special for your taste as the local peanut butter beer I was so happy to discover during my last vistit. The hotel has is a small gym, not perfect, but iI would say it is OK if you ned to keep your shape. The staff in the hotel is super nice. During my last visit I was given a room that faces the highway, I'm a light sleeper and asked for another quieter room. My request was accommodated immediately and although I ended up on the first floor, I was very happy as the rooms have actual wooden floor, not a carpet and are separated from the lobby with a heavy door isolating the noise. The hotel is located a little bit away from any restaurants and you definitely need a car to move around. The shops at legacy are just across the highway, but the overpasses are certainly made for cars and not for walking people. The advantage for me is the walking distance from my company's office and indeed you can walk, there are side walks and traffic lights, so you can navigate around safely. read more

Just stayed at the Aloft--Plano for a girls' weekend. This was my first experience with this lower-cost "W" hotel brand, and it was great! The staff were very accomodating to our large (and somewhat rowdy) group. We got a block of rooms together and spent plenty of money at their bar, which I'm sure they appreciated. But on top of that, they were just nice and friendly and seemed to genuinely enjoy having us there. My room didn't have much of a view (but what in Plano does, really?), but it was clean and comfortable and pretty darn quiet as well. The king sized bed was incredibly comfortable, and although I didn't watch it much, I enjoyed having the huge, wall-mounted high-def flat screen t.v. The room featured a cool color palete and modern furnishings. The "loft" theme meant that instead of a full-sized closet with doors, you get a 2/3 sized "closet" with a curtain, and a large shower (instead of a bath/shower combo). They layout of the room was clever, using a frosted glass wall of the shower to get natural light from the room into the bathroom area. The rooms also had nice bodycare products, a hair dryer, iron, ironing board, in-room safe and small fridge. I saved money by booking my two nights and paying for my stay ahead of time. I am impressed with the Aloft brand, and look forward to staying in their hotels when I visit other cities. read more

This was the team hotel for JMU during the championship football game in Frisco, so we stayed here. I felt that this place was really going for a young, hip vibe with their hotel and almost a European feel, but I'm not sure that it goes over with the crowd staying there. Lobby and bar area is nice- a bunch of us fans drank at the bar and had a good time with the bartender. Can't complain about that area, especially the warm fireplace. I personally don't like the room loft concept with the pocket door for toilet and shower. The beds were okay. The room is overall small and decorated so you 100% know you are in Texas (theme). After the JMU game, we all arrived back at the same time and rushed the elevators- I asked where the stairs are and they said "we don't have any"- what? How can you not have stairs? Pretty sure that's breaking some law. They have food you can buy for sale, but since there's a mini fridge in the room, it's cheaper and easier to order food/grocery deliver or go out and get stuff on your own. If I'm back in this area, I'm going to check out other places to stay that have a little more around them and a little more room. read more

I travel for a living in construction management, and I've seen more than my share of hotels. The aloft properties are awesome! The "lofts" are spacious, sunny, with very comfortable beds. Very modern and always clean and crisp. Basin sinks and frosted glass showers. Every room has a large flat panel tv with a super neat connection box on desk that allows nearly any device to be connected to the TV! If you need a specific cable, they've got you covered. Free water!! The lobby has a well appointed bar, pool table all in upscale setting. They have the equivalent of a convenience store opposite the bar it's well-stocked and very reasonably priced. I stayed here for 2 nights while my job had a crucial deadline to pass. (I'm the Newbie and I like challenges and had nothing to do this Easter/420 weekend.) I chose this place because the pricing seemed perfect (online I got a nice rate) and the decor and needs were met. For the same price I would probably be in a less appealing hotel wondering who's casing my car while I'm asleep. :-p Location: Aloft Plano is located right off the Dallas Tollway and across from the Shops at Legacy. It's literally a few minutes from Frisco, if you're really up for that drive. (And I will be because I've decided Chipotle is for dinner tonight.) Parking: Parking is tight, but you can find one or two spaces if you snag them at the right time. I got a parking space right near the entrance, and, luckily for me, easily seen from my room. Check-in: I think his name was Isaac or Isaiah. He was very friendly and professional with the check-in. No issues here. Interior: Modern, Euro-style. Very slickster and, like I said "Euromod." The place feels like a trendy lounge area, which is supercool. There's a 24/7 cafe and a bar that's open until about 1 am. (You can charge items to your room if you want.) Loft space: Very small and cubic, but you feel cozy. The glass shower is frosted and extends on the bedroom area. I chose a room with a King sized bed. The bed was huge, but it did look a little lumpy looking (see photos when I post them). There's a nice flat screen mounted on the wall in front of the bed, and two large vertically aligned windows on either side. It makes for a great view night or day. Atmosphere: Comfortable, trendy and cozy. The place was small but I was so comfortable. I guess it also helped that I was dead tired and had a crap load of fatigue. Because I didn't even want to leave the hotel - or my perfect parking space - to drive out and get something to eat. I ended up getting a candy bar and drinking water. Sleep: The bed, as some say, is hard, but it's not as lumpy feeling as it looks. I slept like a princess. I knocked out and didn't even know where I was because I had no concept of time (and the blinds really shut out the light). Bathroom: Soooo the toilet doesn't have that hard and powerful flush you may be used to. Take this message however you want to. Shower pressure in the water is fine... same everywhere else. Just know the toilet is a creep and doesn't chug the way it should.--- OH and the shower door doesn't have a lock. You can push or pull it open! TOWELS ... why are these towels so rough? I got creepy goosebumps every time I felt one. Does going green mean hard towels? :( read more

Whenever traveling to Plano to hang out with friends, this hotel is the best place to stay. The location is across the freeway from the Legacy shopping center which is perfect because you have a wide selection of restaurants to eat at. Walking into the hotel, you have an option of checking in at a kiosk or with someone at the front desk. If you arrive closer to the evening hours, there is loud dance/club music playing and every time I have been here, there has been some event going on at the XYZ bar/lounge. The pool area is always busy. We walked in through the back pool area and it was hard getting pass all the people. The rooms are loft style. There is a dock for your i-pod/phone and there is free wireless. The ironing board is hidden behind the bed which was a bit of a struggle trying to find when you're in a rush to get ready. The plus, they use bliss products. They have magazines in case you need something to read while on the potty. They have no locks on the sliding door that divides the shower/ca mode from the sink. For the ladies, they do have a hair drier! That is very important when traveling. There is a frosted glass that is on the wall where the shower is to the room...... Overall, the room prices are great and the lounge is fun to hang out at. When in the area, I know this is the best place to stay at. read more

I would gladly stay here another 17 nights. The bed was comfortable, and the AC blasted cold. I really like the lobby and general layout of this place, even if it does look like IKEA puked everywhere. I mean, as far as being a very youthful building with cool hightech and fun amenities, it's great. The rooms, however, leave a lot to be desired. When the toilet leaks, the shower runs onto the bathroom floor and the walls are thin enough to hear everything that's going on on the whole floor, you gotta know you shoulda invested more in the places your guests will be spending the most time. So, as far as cheap accomodations, it's pretty good, just don't expect the Ritz. The happy hour is awesome, and the gym was well-equipped and clean. I've been to aloft's in different cities, and the same can be said about each of them. I might be too critical, but I think the W's are just really good at finding their niche. The younger crowd will love it, but the discerning traveler should be able to tell the difference in alfot's shoddy McCraftsmanship. read more

I have stayed in many, many, MANY hotels over the years. My experience at Aloft has certainly been good. The room itself is really unique (as it of course feels like a loft) and uses great new technologies, like being able to open your door with your mobile phone! The breakfast burritos at the food window are really great and I've found myself having one every morning. The staff here is quite helpful and very friendly. The shower have nice dispensers on the walls for shampoo and body wash - a nice change from the annoying standard, tiny bottles that are just awkward to use. If I had any complaint, it's just some hair on the floor in the bathroom. I wish they would've gotten to a bit more under the sink when cleaning. I have to give props to hotels that have body wash dispensers!!! Earth to hotels, only old people use bar soap! So good job Aloft. Nice gym, great lobby. Clean spacious room with all the necessities. read more
