Management is cowardly and aligns with bigoted, drunken, racist behavior!
I've celebrated my birthday at Pins for the last 3 years and I've had a great experience in the one downtown last 2 years and celebrated my last one in October at the new location and was happy that it was so much closer to home. This last experience though that I'm going to write to you about leaves me puzzled, angry, deeply saddened and sorry for humanity.
This last Friday night, November 16th, I took a first date out and decided to come inside to play some games, drink and enjoy time out in the patio with the fireplace. My date and I wanted to get away from the crowd and went over to play some Jenga at the corner of the patio. All of the sudden, a group of 3 people came over to play Jenga next to us and started being obnoxious and saying derogatory things that clearly were starting to make us really uncomfortable. My date is a Caucasian woman and me being a Hispanic male, I was really taken aback at the lack of social conscious these people had saying the N word at least 3 times and finally had the drunkest one have the nerve to come over and lay a Jenga piece on our game trying to provoke me to act out. I went ahead and took the Jenga piece off and gave it back to him and told him that I was not interested in participating in his game or being friends. Finally, their company finished the game and blatantly knocked over pieces leaving and saying verbatim, "We will let some Mexicans pick this up!" My date was so shockingly appalled that I finally had to look as the waitress came over and asked us if we were Ok a minute later. She came over and started picking up the pieces on her hands and nieces and these people were clearly enjoying the view with their arms crossed, laughing and trying to humiliate. I finally had enough as my date and I helped the waitress pick up the pieces told her that I needed to speak with a manager. The manager then came over, i explained this whole story to him and my date verified the events that took place. The manager then went over and spoke with the group who was sitting by the fireplace and the kept looking at us like we were tattling but really we are just trying to enjoy our night. Minutes later the manager was getting all chummy with the racist ringleader of these trio of ignorant back trodden imbeciles. Seeing this, I just lost interest in playing Jenga decided to go inside and get away from this negative hateful vibes and was stopped by the coward manager. He had the nerve to ask if everything is OK? And I spoke my mind again and told him not it is not, I feel like my date and I are being disrespected and I thought he really just kinda align his views with these people and contributed to this behavior. I really do hope that people that want to have a good time here don't experience this type of thing that happened us, you would think that being in a very nice location that would be the case. I wish something is done or even hope that someone reaches back to me. I've spent a lot of time and $ to this establishment and to think that I used to recommend this place to friends that anyone that asked me about this place, I will not speak in a favorable manner. If this is the sort of place where racist cowards are made managers then God help this society. read more
