They had a limited selection of food (think burgers, chicken tenders, and soft pretzels) but we didn't have anything. They also had fountain drinks available for purchase but we again opted out. We were told that outside food or drink wouldn't be allowed so keep that in mind during your visit. As for the atmosphere, it was fairly energetic. Music was playing and there were TVs on the back wall. The lanes appeared to be well maintained (although I didn't do great- lol) and the score board was easy to figure out. They also had an arcade section with a few arcade games and claw machines. Overall, our visit to Bowlero was pleasant and I could definitely see us coming back one day :)

New ownership and ops managers are trying to update TVs, games, scoring systems, food, and much more. Penn Lanes is a great family place for all ages as well as a great place for friends to hang out. This game mode is unique and different, the bumpers are up and based on where your bowling ball touches the bumper, you get different multipliers on your resulting score from knocking down the pins. Each round the zones and multipliers are different. Our group was asked if we wanted to order anything as we were getting set up and putting on shoes, but they never came by to check on us after we said to give us a few minutes.

Pretty good games; she liked the Minecraft shooter the best. Ended up with enough tickets to get a little candy. We'd come back.

Bars in each area, and apparently food available though we didn't see anyone eating mid-afternoon on a weekend. And the cost? Nothing. Sure, they want you to have a beer and order other stuff, but they are not pushy about it. I asked at the bar how to get change for the games, and he said "just push start, they're free." We played a lot. Many nostalgic games for me, and Baby K liked Pacman and Defender. A wide variety, and there was always something open. I imagine at peak times you have to wait, but no issues, again mid-afternoon on a weekend, warm spring day. I was thirsty and bored, so got a drink. Ginger ale. No charge. I did tip, but seriously, we were there an hour and could have walked out without spending a penny. We'll definitely be back.

Then the price he charged us was very incorrect, so he had to call a manager. The manager didn't ask questions, he assumed and told me *WE* were wrong about the price of the package. You know, the one advertised on the screen. Right above our heads. One iota of empathy or apology would've de-escalated the situation, but there was none to be found. He ended up refunding the excess in cash, but good golly. The experience was a cluster. Would not go back.

My fiancée, my friends and I went on Saturday night and we were amazed by the quality and cleanliness of the alley. Not all alleys are clean and well-kept. We paid $30 for one hour of bowling and it was worth it. Shoes were $2.50 a pair, and the house balls were solid. No issues with them. There was a slight mechanical error in the first part of our second game, but the staff fixed it and gave us time to finish out our second game. That shows they are kind and customer-service oriented. I had a follow-up concern as well (not a big deal) that the staff (Kim and others) were super-kind in trying to address. Even little things like that make this alley a perfect 300 when it comes to a good experience. I highly recommend!
