peaches and prosciutto WOW!!
Paula L.

The place is small and bright inside. The food is really good. I got a fresh peaches and prosciutto slice that was so yummy. The grandma it was exactly how a grandma should be. The crust was crispy, great mozzarella and very good sauce. The mozzarella sticks were really good. The people who work there are super nice. I would definitely return.

Thanksgiving Pie
Will E.

We drove out from Manhattan to try the Thanksgiving Pie with turkey, gravy, stuffing, cranberry and cheese - it was delicious!

Ordered 2 pasta dishes tonight on Doordash! Doordash said order will be ready in 22 minutes ( done this before and brunette young girl that works there refuses to give order before 22 minute times goes off. Well tonight I guess she want to go home early so they called me and said they are closing in 3 mins and I needed to come get my food. There is no way to make a fresh pasta dish in 4 minutes and in addition if you don't plan on staying they whole time the restaurant is opened on Doordash than shut it off and Never give the customer your snotty attitude !

2 top tier Margarita Slices
Lou D.

Best Margarita Slice in region. Best Margarita Slice in class rating. Super clean and neat Great service Highly recommend. First off, i consider myself a tough pizza grader and usually judge a place on their regular slice. So this is a little unusual. Also, I rate pizza within their peer class in several categories; There is the premium pizza class (usually some top tier artisan hand made coal or wood fired masterpiece), Then there is the middle weight class (these are the good middle of the road pizza places that can range from excellent to poor), Then finally, "Pizza as a food class" . This is mostly the fast food pizza class. This class can range from tasty pizza to hot cheese and dough in a take out box. Pino's gets a 5 in the upper echelon of the middle weight class edging into the premium class. That is a tough crowd to compete in and Pino's is there for several reasons. I stumbled into Pino's last week with out checking yelp first. That is usually not a good idea. Boy was i lucky! First impressions: Neat, clean, crisp, safe, efficient! Clean white subway tiles line the walls with wood grain floor tiles. There is a nice cartoon style mural painting of one of the owners making pizza. Thats cool and really personalizes the business and gives the appearance of pride in ownership. The counter top is somewhat L shaped with pizza on display through spotless glass. The display includes pizza, specialty slices, and the usual pizza hand food additions like rolls and knots. When i approached the counter there were 4 or 5 people working behind an efficient and neat work area. Im not sure but i got the sense that this is a family run business by the way that they were interacting. I was having trouble making a decision and i just blurted out "which one of you make the best pizza?" It seemed everyone responded "i do, i do" One young lady said something like, "would you like a suggestion? Try the margarita slice, i make that, its the best" or something like that. I said, "Done! Make it 2 to go!" I usually go with a regular slice to judge a place, but i went with her recommendation instead. Boy, was i lucky i listened to the recommendation. What a fantastic speciality slice. I have to give it a top rating, best Margarita slice in the region! The Margarita slice itself: the crust was clearly shop made from a unique proprietary dough. The crust was the right thickness, golden brown, with just the right amount of bottom char and crispiness. There is a hint of high quality olive oil in the follow. Authentic NY Style! The sauce was alive, chunky and flavorful with the right subtle hints of garlic and basil. The cheese perfectly distributed and properly proportioned through the whole slice landscape. The cheese itself seemed to be a fresh whole milk or partially skim high quality mozzarella. The consistency of the melted cheese has the right "tooth" and was "al dente" without excessive oil run off. The slice itself, or crust, maintained the right amount crisp from tip to end to support and complement the topping. Thats not easy! Bravo Pino's! I will return. Highly recommend!

Got 5 slices and they are all delish. I think they have really great sauce and dough. It's light and airy and the sauce is very robust tomato but with great seasoning. The place was clean and the people were friendly. I think the owner was there and he was nice too. Great place. So glad we tried it tonight.

Eggplant roll and calzone
Joanne P.

I feel like we don't have good pizza places in this area so I was excited to try this place out but honestly I was a little disappointed. We got the ravioli vodka pie, garlic knots, eggplant roll and a calzone. They def were not skimpy on the ravioli but they were on the vodka sauce. The pizza lacked flavor, idk if the sauce itself was just mediocre or there just wasn't enough of it to really taste it but it wasn't that good. The garlic knots were also not garlicky at all and the eggplant roll was pretty bland and the eggplant to dough ratio was way off-way too doughy! The calzone was pretty regular, good but nothing special. We had it delivered and it arrived right on time though. Maybe I'll try something else out in the future.

'Garlic Bread'
Samantha L.

We have been getting our pizza from here since they opened. Last night we ordered some pasta & chicken dishes and calamari. We also ordered two orders of garlic bread as it is our 7 year olds favorite. What we received was total trash...what a joke!!! I have never seen garlic bread like This...it is not what anyone would expect when ordering it. Such a waste. Super disappointed.

Upside down pie! Delicious. So good, we couldn't wait to take a pic! Lol

Visiting NY. The pizza was good. Everyone enjoyed it. I liked the sauce. Meatballs were ok. We would go again for lunch.

Overrated. Sauce tastes weird, and the pizza is too thin. Plus, it takes them 35 minutes to make 1 pie, and it's never ready.

If you haven't been to Mama's Brick Oven Pizzeria & Restaurant at 30 Deer Shore Square in North…read moreBabylon, you're missing out on one of the South Shore's finest Italian dining experiences. Whether you're popping in for a quick slice or settling in for a full sit-down dinner, Mama's consistently delivers -- and then some. Let's start with the basics: the grandma pizza is exceptional. Thick, pillowy, perfectly crisped on the bottom with a rich, flavorful sauce -- it's everything a grandma pie should be. But don't stop there. The chicken parm hero is, without exaggeration, one of the best you'll find on Long Island. Generous, satisfying, and packed with flavor, it's the kind of sandwich that makes you close your eyes on the first bite. For those seeking something more elevated, the chicken francese is a standout -- light, lemony, and beautifully balanced. And the Bolognese sauce is a slow-simmered masterpiece, rich and deeply savory, the kind that makes you want to mop the plate clean with a piece of bread. What truly sets Mama's apart, though, is the people. Manager Nicole runs the front of house with warmth and genuine care, making every guest feel like a regular from the moment they walk in. Server Carol is an absolute delight -- attentive, friendly, and the kind of server who makes the whole experience feel effortless and personal. Mama's is the rare restaurant that works for every occasion. Date night, birthday celebration, graduation dinner, anniversary -- or just a Tuesday when you need a great slice. The atmosphere is welcoming, the food is consistently outstanding, and the staff makes you want to come back. Simply put: Mama's is a neighborhood treasure.

The last time I visited Cafe Dolce Vita was probably in 2007 before I left for college and…read moresubsequently moved to Boston. I'm not sure what ever became of the old owner and his wife, but they owned and ran Cafe Dolce Vita for decades - I recall when it was located in the plaza next door at 1966 Deer Park Avenue, and we used to go there when I was a student at DPHS. Let me tell you; I still think of their chicken marsala pizza, or their pinwheels. I knew pizza didn't have to be just plain cheese or pepperoni, but that a pizza could have chicken marsala on it was life-changing for me. If a pizza could have chicken marsala on it, why, it could have just about anything on it. I don't know if I'll ever get back to Deer Park someday, or if Cafe Dolce Vita will still be there when I do, but if it is I will absolutely be stopping in. All these haters don't know the half of Cafe Dolce Vita's story and status as one of the grand dames of pizza joints in Deer Park and the fact that some of these newer places crowding the town weren't even a glimmer in their owner's eye when Cafe Dolce Vita was already the older, established joint in town. So what if the old owner was a bit gruff. He made pizza so good I still remember it nearly twenty years later. And it looks like the place is still going strong. Don't let the flame die out! The pizza here is a treasure of the town, and stands on its own merits.

This place is in a small strip mall. next to a Shop Rite that I frequent. Though I haven't sampled…read moreall of their fare, what I have had is enough for me to rate it high! I will definitely be returning for more of their fare. Tale of the tape: Garlic Knots and Marinara Sauce Medium to large sized, they have a light texture and a light chew, with a decent enough garlic flavor to make you realize that you are indeed eating a garlic knot, and not a piece of pizza dough. The marinara sauce (that I had to ask for) was not that great, however - it was thin and not very flavorful. When paired with the knot, the two flavors together were decently complimentary. Creamed Spinach slice Crust is thin with a subtle yet good general flavor of its own - it doesn't just taste like flour and water. The creamed spinach, in a word, is great - I am very impressed! The spinach is finely chopped, is plentiful, and has just enough "creamed" component to give it a really good flavor. This is a very hearty slice! As if this weren't enough, there is a thin layer of really good mozzarella cheese under the spinach with a good pull and which gives it a little extra flavor boost. Serious folks, this has to be the best spinach slice I have ever had, and I will definitely purchase it again! Primavera slice A decent amount of sautéed vegetables, including broccoli, zucchini, carrots and spinach, all atop Vita's thin, crispy, light and flavorful crust. Another really good slice with vegetables that actually have flavor, unlike others I have tried. Rigatoni alla Vodka With a nice flavorful tang, it's very good. Humorous side note I originally posted this review not here, but for a place called La Dolce Vita in Belmar, New Jersey! An alert fellow Yelper was kind enough to message me about my ridiculous mistake, and set me straight! Thanks, Patricia R.!
