Pinky Swear is one of those rare NYC spots that nails it on every level: food, service, and vibe. From the moment we sat down, our server (and bartender) CJ set the tone. He was warm, attentive, and genuinely fun. He even slipped us some free tokens to play around with the art exhibits, which made the whole night feel like an experience, not just a dinner. The food? Next level. The oysters were fresh and briny perfection. The tuna crudo was out of this world with silky texture and perfectly balanced flavors. And the burger... hands down the best my wife has had in the city. Bone marrow, cheese whiz, and an everything milk bun made it rich, decadent, and unforgettable. The way they presented the cheese whiz was genius and had us grinning like kids. We finished with dessert and it was just as impressive as the rest. Creative, indulgent, and a perfect ending to the meal. Pinky Swear does not just serve dinner. It gives you an evening you will be talking about for weeks. Already plotting our return.

Was visiting my friends in NYC and they took me here. SUCH a fun experience and I had a great time. Drinks here are delicious! We actually walked to a different bar right before this and the drinks were a huge let down, but Pinky Swear came to save the day. I got the Cloud 9 which was an espresso martini and it was soo good. The toasted marshmallow really topped it off. As for the ambiance and vibes, it was so cute and artsy. There seemed to be like 3-4 separate areas with varying aesthetics, but all of them blended well together. Very cute, I loved it. Service here was also awesome! Shout out to CJ for making our experience top notch!

One of the prices that came to mind was Redbreast 12 for $20 for a pour. I settled on Bitburger which was $10. Service was quick. You're certainly paying for the location as the bar situated amongst many clubs and events spaces.

It ended up being a nice spot for a casual catch-up, though with a few mixed impressions. The space itself is cute and very much feels like a neighborhood bar. One of the things we liked most was that they have games available--we ended up playing Scrabble while waiting for our friend to arrive, which made the time go by quickly and added to the relaxed vibe. Happy hour prices are solid, and the fried pickles we shared were decent. I also had a watermelon cocktail that was refreshing and perfectly fine, if not particularly memorable. Service was a bit inconsistent. The bartender wasn't very warm or welcoming to us initially, though that changed once our friend--who is a regular--arrived. Overall, it's a comfortable spot to meet friends and hang out for a few hours, especially on a weekday like Thursday. That said, I probably wouldn't go out of my way to return, but I can see why it works well as a local neighborhood hang.

Not too crowded, the wait for a pool table was about 30 minutes, enough for a quick round of shuffleboarding. The games are relatively cheap, and there's so much variety, ping pong and board games. The live jazz is really what sets this place apart from the other pool halls, starting around 7 pm with what seems like maybe the house band and I think they have guests later in the night. It's the perfect atmosphere, fun lighting, lots of grungy writing on the walls, good indie music from the 2010s before the jazz starts. Plus the spacing of the tables is good so you're not constantly bumping into other players, which is a pet peeve of mine. I'm sure it's busier later in the night but it's perfect for an early stop in the evening. Cheap drinks and good deals as well!

The whole concept is…read morebuilt around keeping your hands busy: pool tables, ping pong, shuffleboard, foosball, chess, checkers, even some old-school arcade cabinets scattered through a sprawling underground space. It's actually a legacy spot in disguise. This basement used to house Fat Cat, a longtime West Village institution that shut down right before the pandemic, and before that the room itself was a bowling alley, tucked into a 1932 Art Deco building a few steps from Stonewall. Drink selection isn't the draw here, don't come expecting a deep cocktail list. Crowd skews heavily undergrad, and the place is loud, so it's not the spot for an intimate one-on-one or a real group conversation. It's built for a different kind of hang: elbow your way to a table, keep your hands busy, let the noise do the rest. There's also live jazz most nights, which adds a nice layer if you catch it at the right time. Neat place, just know what you're walking into.

The cocktails downstairs at Sip are incredible. For drinks, the tomato tree and Grandma's Apple Pie were both amazing. The mochi French fry was so unique and delicious. I arrived at 4 for my reservation for the limited burger and ordered it and a few other items. THE BEST THING I ATE was the Fois Gras. Without hesitation, quite possibly the best item on the menu. I could've eaten five orders of it. The burger was good, it wasn't the best burger in the world, it wasn't so great that I'm dying to go back and have it again... The fois gras on the other hand, stole the show. I'm definitely going back for it. The very next day, I went to Peter Luger, and Peter Luger's Burger is superior. If you don't don't believe me do a bang bang in the same day and if you can't handle that, go the next day to Peter Luger. That burger will blow your mind away. Of course, the service there and their old school way of doing things where they bring out a medium rare steak still cooking on a boiling hot plate till it's medium by the time you eat half of it is what's keeping them from being busy. They should've abandoned that sizzling plate. In any event, I digress the burger. Here at sip & guzzle, it's just like the burger at red Hook Tavern, overhyped & does not live up to the hype as being one of the if not "the best burger in the world. Again, the burger was good. The fois gras stole the show. The place is cool, it's small, reservations are tough & The Burger is limited so walk-ins are a gamble. The fact that the bar doesn't open before four so that when you get there early, you can sit and have a drink really is a fail. I find that to be plain silly. Drinks were good. High price point for drinks that were as good as anywhere else, again not superior, but that location is small and rent is surely massive. So, all good. Id go back for apps and 1 drink.

Daily they have a pianist rotation along with bar staff who have voices of angels. Service at Duplex is always superb, table or at the bar. Duplex gets better the more you open yourself to the social happenings around you. Share a drink, take some shots, sing a song in front of strangers. Keep in mind your tab will get pricey, but that is what you'll have to be willing to pay. Though you need not be inebriated to enjoy Duplex, I've done it multiple times and have had a great experience either way. Since we had such a great time, we stopped in on the next night, and it was a massive disappointment. Shitty attitude from the bartender. (Not sure if there were 2 bartenders with the attitude, or just one terrible bartender and a friend hanging out with him doing nothing but distracting him.) Either way, the bar was not crowded yet and he straight up ignored us. For a while. We left. Drinks are made with the cheapest of booze and served in plastic cups. Based on the quality, the prices are high, even for the neighborhood. Despite the drinks and despite the crappy service on the second visit, we will likely come back the next time we're in town in hopes of finding a bartender who understands the job. It's near other stuff we like, and the music and vibes were that good on the first night. And if it sucks again, there's like a thousand other places in walking distance.
