1.5 hours for pizza! The grub hub driver delivered other orders before ours. It was cold. Never again!!!

I placed an UberEats order for a pizza from here. Received it, opened up the box and found MULTIPLE live bugs crawling around on / around / in my pizza. I first saw a big one that at first glance, thought it was just a fly (which would've still been bad) and then proceeded to see at least five or six smaller beetle-like bugs crawling around. I just closed the box, got a trash bag, and promptly threw out everything. This is the most disgusting food issue I've ever had and think this is a health and food safety violation. read more

Updating my review: The manage contacted me and handle the situation. So I order my pizza, it came pretty fast. But the pizza was cold, the it didn't taste fresh. Kinda like if you ordered pizza in morning and come back to it around 7pm that's how it taste. But the pizza wasn't really my big issue, the delivery guy was. Yes, he was on time. But when he got to my apt, he called while still sitting in his car, not even trying to look for my apt. Then he tells me to walk to the street, I told him I'm not walking anywhere and my door is on the first floor. He starts yelling at me telling me to come to his car. I have been coming for years there's a VEGAN option. In all these years I had.ne problem which was immediately corrected. The staff is friendly. The pizza is perfect. As someone who has worked years in the customer service/restaurant industry, I am so incredibly disappointed in one of my favorite pizza joints. I really wanted to show my out of town friends how much I loved pink's pizza. I placed a pizza order for delivery around 8:50 PM. They told me it would be an hour estimated time for delivery... seemed pretty long, but ok, that's fine. An hour passes by and absolutely NOTHING. No phone call, no delivery. At this time, I knew Pink's would be closing soon so I go ahead and call them checking on the status of my pizza... Whoever picked up the phone call, whether it be management or another worker, whatever, told me there's no delivery order pending. I gave him my name and he said he had an order for me under carry out. I know for a fact that I asked for delivery, because I gave the female worker who picked up my call my street address. The man proceeded to ask if the person who took my order was a female in which I said yes. He then tells me that she's new and she doesn't know how to work the system yet. So he basically admitted that it's THEIR mistake for not effectively training their own employees or even having an employee to oversee trainees. Knowing that the place was closing, I offered to pick it up really quick (I live right behind Pink's), and the man just said no, because by the time I got there, they would be closed and because I wasn't charged with a credit card, they have no obligation to get me my pizza. I asked if there was any compensation for THEIR mistake and was hit again with, "No, because you were not charged with the pizza yet." What kind of customer service is this?! I've waited over an hour for a pizza delivery and because of their mistake, I'm just expected to starve? This was literally one of the worst customer service experiences I have ever encountered. I knew there was more that could have been done, but they blatantly chose not to remediate THEIR mistake. Just for even being willing to help me get to my pizza, I would have definitely compensated for their time. read more

Usually, the pizza is good, sometimes too soggy if it is delivered. When we finally decide to come get some because we miss it, we pick it up. Thank God it is next to Shepherd Park because we can have a drink and an appetizer while our 30 minute pizza takes an hour to cook. Maybe this location needs some additional staff. 2/19 Update: the manager reached out to us and explained their staffing situation on Friday evening. We do love Pink's and appreciate the gesture! Pizza was really good and must have been made fresh since it took a long time for the food to be ready. I ordered to go. Price was a bit high for Per Slice more than a little Caesars Pizza. Order a small meat pizza to split with a friend. We dined in, as the server brought our pie to the table; it slipped off the tray and partially landed on out table. She was very apologetic; and said she'd bring us a new one. We already had waited quite a while, and had somewhere to be (couldn't be late)). So we ate the pizza that touched the table. Really good pizza. Plenty of toppings. For my personal taste, I prefer more sauce. I we were finishing our food; our server brought us another pizza, as promised, packed to-go. read more

This place will make individual slices of any pizza you want. It may not look like much but the pizza is really really good. A little spendy but they make sure to load up the slice so it's worth it. Pinks has decent pizza. They have a lot of options with some crazy combinations. I'm a simple pepperoni pizza kind of guy, so I don't go in for all of that. ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!!!! I would give zero stars if possible. This is a reoccurring problem with their staff where they are actually refusing to answer the phones when called to place an order. I understand any other reason why they couldn't answer the phones it's not very busy other than being afraid to speak on the phone. I can empathize with a new hire to have some apprehension but seriously taking pizza orders is your job. After calling and being put on hold 17 times before finally being able to place a order is ridiculous. If their policy is to refuse phone calls and push their website it would be helpful if their website worked as well not sure if this is due to need of hires because of the pandemic but it's starting to show. read more

I love pizza. The pizza here isn't bad, but it's nothing to write home about. I went at lunch and just tried a pizza by the slice option with pepperoni and italian sausage. For $7 (after tax) you get a HUGE slice of pizza, but it's not going to be super fast. It wasn't busy when I got there and it still took about 10 minutes for my slice of pizza. Plus I asked for water with my pizza and I got none. Don't expect great service. As for the taste, it was a bit greasy, but it wasn't bad. Unfortunately, there wasn't that much pepperoni on my pizza. And since they charge you for each topping, I expect a healthy amount of whatever topping I'm paying for. It's decent pizza and if you happen to be driving by and dying for a slice of pizza, it'll work. All in all, I'll keep looking for a better pizza place. read more

Last night I ordered a 12" gluten-free supremo, 2 slices (each with 3 toppings) and the spaghetti and meatballs -- TOTAL CAME TO $49.50. $49.50!!! I was hungry and we were all tired so I just let the price tag go. I thought that surely the outstanding pizza would make up for the sticker price. Sadly, the price tag was just the beginning of the disappointment. The slices were THIN, COLD, CHEWY AND HARD, SOGGY and just plain nasty. (Is it me or does anyone else think their marinara is on the sweet side? -- BARF!) I'm pretty sure we got some of the slices that had been sitting around under a heat lamp. For $49.50 you think that they could at least make a mediocre attempt at serving fresh pizza. The spaghetti and meatballs was a joke too. You could tell that they warmed it up under a broiler because the edges of the dish were burnt to a nice chalky brown. The pasta was dry. The meatballs were dry. The whole dish was again not worth $49.50! I've had better meatballs and pasta at Ikea! I didn't try the gluten-free pizza. My husband's comment was that it's not worth $25. Our food was cold. They don't even have the delivery excuse because my husband went to go pick it up 20 minutes after I ordered it and we live 1 mile away. Please, please don't waste your money on this insipid "pizza." Never again, Pinks! You've swindled us for the last time. read more

UPDATE: I called back in the morning and spoke to the actual manager, who apparently was there the whole time last night. He was very apologetic and connected me to the district manager, who was also very apologetic for my experience. I had the worst customer experience ever at this location. The "manger" Robert has no business representing the company where I have been a LONG time customer, but will never visit another PINKS after today. After being repeatedly being told my pizza was "in the oven" and "will be ready in 10-15mins" I find out it in fact had not even been started after waiting in the front lobby for an hour. I should have gotten a clue when I saw NUMEROUS customers complaining and inquiring about their long over due orders as well and all of the phone complaints we could hear from the front lobby. When I confronted the "manager on duty" Robert, I asked him why I wasn't informed of the wait time when I came to pick up the order and I was repeatly lied to about the status of the order. I was told there is nothing he could do and he will just cancel the order. I asked for the manger's name and he REFUSED to give me a name other than his or a way of contacting them. I left in frustration, having wasted an hour of my time. I understand businesses get busy but I was simply asking for better communication and received attitude and dismissal instead. read more

Cool little pizza place. Next to it is Shepherd Park where you can grab a drink after your pizza, or you can sit outside and have both at the same time. Upon walking in you will notice skate boards mounted along the wall that gives a bit of a hip feel to the place. The slices of pizza are pretty large and is usually served on two paper plates. What is nice is that you can order your slices with what ever toppings you would like. They usually come thin crust, and the crust is a tad bit overdone at times. Don't expect first class service. Kind of a "get it yourself" pizza place, yet the workers will ask front behind the counter if everything is good at times. They do have a large flat screen TV on the back wall. Overall, a cool lil place. Very casual with rock music playing most of the times I've been here. read more

My first time trying Pink's. I wanted to get just a slice of one of their specialty pies. But I was informed that the signage outside is a little misleading. Sure, a slice starts at $3.50, but after all the toppings added from being a specialty, it can cost over $10. Ridiculous. Might as well order a full pizza. So that's what I did. Which cost me $18...for a medium. The flavor was great, I can't lie. But I don't think I'm willing to pay that much again. However, if you decide to try it, I recommend the This Guy, a pie full of flavor. It has prosciutto, Italian sausage, rosemary chicken, goat cheese, mozzarella, spinach, mushroom, tomato and roasted garlic. On second thought, maybe I'll pay that price one more time for another This Guy. read more

The Doubledown and Freschetta are amazing. We live about 25 minutes away and make the trek here (its the closest location) about once a month. Yes, the drive is annoying. Yes, it's pricey. But it is SO worth it. BTW, it's BYOB but the atmosphere is pretty "blah" inside. We usually order the pizza before we leave the house and simply pick it up. Pizza is one of my favorite foods. No joke. Pink's is a great addition to Garden Oaks. Although, I am in Oak Forest, and out of the delivery zone, my partner and I get pizza from here pretty regularly. We generally order and drive ourselves to pick up. They are always timely with the estimate, and the pizza is always great. We have also gone in person and had a beer next door and had a hot pizza delivered. Since SP and Pinks are owned by the same folks, this works out well. Most people in the bar look on enviously. Our favorite pies are the "that guy" the big sleep, freshetta and the marie. Also, leftovers are also really good. Generally $24 for a large pizza which includes a couple slices left over for lunch the next day. We will continue to be regulars! read more

Had a Terri or experience tonight. We ordered pizza and cheese sticks. After an hour and a half of waiting we called the store to see what the issue was. We were told that the food was ready under a heat lamp but the Uber driver wasn't there yet. Uber driver? Apparently when they're low on drivers they use Uber drivers. I don't have any issue with that per say, so long as it doesn't take north of two hours to get our food. Finally we picked it up in person. I understand people have bad days, but that's not what this was. The employees were completely indifferent to their mistakes, including not sending ranch sides that we paid for. If they had just said sorry honestly we would've been fine. But they flat out didn't care one way another that it took two hours and we picked up or pizza ourselves. Terrible service. read more

Hit or miss. Don't expect too much from the staff. Ordered a salad before my pizza and it never came out. Had to get up and go ask for it and when one employee told the other if he made it he looked like a deer in a headlight even though he took the order. Drinks are limited and hot. They are not my beloved Frank's pizza and the staff sucks but it's one of the best to eat on a Sunday while watching football. I actually went there on a Saturday late one night, after calling in my order and going to the location, I found myself standing outside the glass door waiting for one of the workers to open it while they stood behind the counter carrying on a conversation after noticing me standing there. They finally let me and I got my pizza after they finished whatever important conversation they had going on during business hours. Oh and they locked the door an hour early. When I got home and ate my pizza it was yummy, it was everything a pie is supposed to be saucy, cheesy, and crisp tasty crust. And better yet, the left overs were great the next when I warmed them in the oven while enjoying my Texans game. I want to rate them higher because I do think they are one of the better pizza places in Houston but the staff was rude, and good service makes your food taste better. I mean it doesn't compare to the pies you might get in New York or Chicago, but it can beat most commercial chains and some of the other local pizzerias blind on any given day. So all in all I would recommend it but I would also recommend going before 7 when the staff is possibly more pleasant. read more

So excited for Pink's new location at 34th & N. Shepherd. I was so disappointed. I did a half & half - Double Down so I could try their Alfredo sauce and This Guy to try the tomato sauce. Couldn't wait to take the first bite! And then the disappointment. So sad. The spinach was just awful! I love spinach but this stuff was bitter and totally detracted from the dish. I was extra disappointed as spinach was on both halves. Sadly, spinach is an ingredient on 33% of their specialty pizzas. I'm going to give them another chance and try something spinach-less. Maybe even a meatball sandwich. If you are really hankering for some spinach on the pie then stick with the Joe's over at Star Pizza. read more

Not only will you be put on hold indefinitely, you will get to listen the most monotonous hold message repeated to you until your ears bleed in hopes that they can convince you that they strive for quality and perfection with each order, if you ever get to place it. My favorite challenge is to call in, be put on hold, then drive the 20 minutes to the North Shepherd location to place an order in person only to see no one answering the phone. Just ordered my last pizza from this place which took over an hour to arrive and only because I followed up several times. This is not a unique situation. On four separate occasions they showed up an hour and a half late or in one situation didn't show up. We used to love this place and ordered weekly. I agree that these reviews are harsh! Giving our local pizza place a bad wrap. Don't overlook the quality of the pizza. That's what it's all about! I think it's safe to say they need to improve on the delivery speed which also can ruin your quality pie experience. We just factored that out and pick it up, ready in less than 20 min and you're obviously pretty close if trying to get a pie from here. I also agree it can get really pricey if you're not cognizant that create your own pizza's will cost you. It's best to order their specialty and take away if you don't like something. With all that said. If you just can't get off your butt and want a quality pie; the Star pizza on Washington WILL deliver to Oak Forest! Just as good (or better) quality with excellent customer service Pinks admittedly lacks. It will take just as long and the price is comparable. read more

So I was hungry. I mean really hungry. Nothing could tame the beast in my belly. My little belly beast was talking to me. Just more pink's saying that drug out another chuckle. "7 days without Pink's Pizza makes one week." Yeah, I'm a sucker for corny. So this tattooed fella, white Tee and an apron baseball cap says "Hey, Guy, How's it going?" I say it's good, looking around for a menu. I ask him "Ya'll sell pizza by the slice?" I felt like that was a mistake tho cuz it was posted clearly on the window before I walked in, as he explained thoroughly. But anyhow I ordered a slice. Spinach, Pepperoni, Goat cheese. I repeat Goat Cheese. I never would have thought, but apparently they have 7 other cheeses to go with it. Off the Chain. No Joke. I go to have a seat and look up again. left wall had Skateboards, and pictures of skateboards, pretty much got the gist of a skateboard themed pizza place. Pretty awesome. Then it came around the corner. The over grown, worth two meal, three topping pizza. Just a wonder to behold. The guy knew what I was thinking I'm sure, but did not know about my wooki sized hunger I was about to unleash on this pizza. The Pizza was amazing. The Pizza was Amazing!! I know I said that twice. its emphasis. I fell in love instantly. The crust was amazing, The flavor was so Potent!!! Every bite was amazing!!!! Every Single Bite!!! Pizza was cold and rubbery which was strange because I had to wait for it for a while. The pizza is overpriced in my opinion and not worth it. Good pizza! We had the Santa Monica pie I was hesitant about the cranberries but it was delicious. This pizza has olive oil instead of red sauce so that was a plus for me since I am not fond of red sauces. Can't wait to try others from their creative varieties. read more
