One of my favorite ice cream shops! Sweet customer service and even sweeter treats! Must try if you are in the area!

I'm proud to say the new owners aren't on that racial discrimination junk. In fact, it seems like they've made intentional decisions with their staff to make sure to change the reputation the previous owners made for themselves. My wife and I went their for dinner tonight, don't judge me, and we enjoyed the waffles cones and ice cream. Their staff let us taste several flavors before we decided on Snickers and Cookie Dough. Amazing place for ice cream in North Augusta. I was told that this place has really great ice cream so I decided to come here after work but I got gas first. It didn't take me long to find this place and I didn't waste any time going into the parlor. The interior was fantastic. It reminded me of what it was back in the day going to retro diner. The people there were friendly and patient as I asked what the flavors were like. I wound up going with a lemon custard waffle cone and paying $3.30 This is awesome. read more

This is an local landmark that is said to have the best ice cream in the CSRA. Not sure if I'd call it the best, but it definitely is a good option. The ambiance of the shop is very "1960s traditional parlor vibe." Cute to some people, outdated and creepy to others. Take your pick. I'm not a big fan of the stuck in time theme, but for many the nostalgia is worth the visit. Has a local, family owned feel that is charming. Location downtown is excellent. Fairly clean floors and eating areas. Customer service is decent. Not much interaction other than grabbing your ice cream and ringing you up at the register. Lines can be long on evenings and weekends. Ice cream is good quality! Fresh! Many flavors to choose from, toppings are abundant. A good competitor to other ice cream stores around. I still prefer Cold-stone, however. Price is decent. Not cheap, but the homemade confections are likely the reason for the cost. A decent deal. I would recommend this location! read more

No matter where technology takes us, no matter how advanced the world gets we still need good homemade hand scooped ice cream in a fresh made waffle cone. And this parlor is just the place. Just across the river, for downtown Augusta people and right around the corner for Aiken residents this place is a step back in time. Now I will mention that parking, on a busy day, may be full. But there is street parking just past it so you won't have far to walk. As soon as you open that front door, the smell of waffle bathes you. You see the ice cream dipping cabinets immediately and the menu behind it on the wall. Yes, they have the traditional flavors. Yes, they have sugar cones, waffle cones, wafer cones, waffle bowls, plain ole bowls. And yes, they have toppings galore. But don't forget about the banana splits and hotdogs (only for parties). They do have a few dairy-free and sugar-free options as well. Always a friendly team working here and eager to make your order perfect. I will also mention that they have assorted toys along the opposite wall (of the ice cream) as well as a early version of a video game. It truly is a step back in time. I loved this place. Clearly a community hang-out, from the teenagers scooping ice-cream flirting with the boys just in from football practice, to the grandparents bringing their granddaughter in for a treat, to a young couple enjoying each others company. The old games awesome. The ice cream good--not great--but good. The only strange thing is the overabundance of hello kitty. And the copious signs saying "Oh my God, don't let your kid touch anything." Seriously? Then put it up on a high shelf! I felt like we could have enjoyed ourselves a lot more if we weren't constantly trying to keep our kids away from the pretty, shiny, crinkly-wrapped toys. I used to love to go to this place as a kid! It still looks exactly the same way it did in the 80s. Pac Man video game and all:-) There is pink all over the place and it has little pink iron tables with heart shaped chairs. The ice cream (esp. the cookie dough) is great and the waffle cones are very good! I would give this place more stars, but the last couple of times that I went there, the older guy ( I think he was the owner) who was running the shop was not pleasant AT ALL! Cutest Icecream Parlor EVER! The two employees behind the counter were great and so friendly. I had the cherry vanilla and my husband ate the Charlie Brown (peanut butter and chocolate flavor). The icecream was so rich and made so very well. So here is the thing. We know this place because we happen to utilize the 13th street bridge to go into downtown Augusta quite often. When I say that it was worth the time to stop in I mean it! They also have very cute and fun little gifts in their shop. Anyone who is a jelly-bean fanatic like I am knows the jelly-belly game of bean-boozled. WELL they have a huge board game there and little novelty games. So cute and so awesome. I was traveling through Augusta last week and after having a pretty good hamburger at a local farm to table place I decided to get some ice cream. I found this place online and drove across the bridge into South Carolina and found this place just up the road from the bridge. I got peach ice cream because I was thinking that since it's July and the state I was just In is known for peaches this should be really good. Truthfully it was just OK. It tasted like ice cream made with peach flavoring and not really with peaches so I was a little disappointed. I mean really it just tasted fake. Now the company to come on here and tell me that it's not fake and that they use real peaches .but I'm not sure I would believe them. By the look of it I am sure that generations of local families have shared memories having gotten ice cream there and I wish them the best but fortunately I'll never be back in Augusta or North Augusta and so I will not have to waste my time and calories there again. read more

We stood there for several minutes and no one that works at the place acknowledged us and there were only two other customers there. We left. I went to the restroom before leaving and it was disgusting! The toilet was covered in mold and the floor was filthy. The sink was filthy also. We drove by this place by chance and decided to stop in. There were no other customers and the only employee was what I'm assuming was the owner, a cute little old man. It was funny to see him against the contrast of a bright pink ice cream parlor filled with stuffed animals and candy. He served me two scoops of the pistachio almond ice cream and it was literally the best ice cream I've had in my life. It tasted like heaven. The only thing I regret is that I've lived in the Augusta area for over 20 years and it was my first time ever venturing into this AH-MAY-ZING establishment. Everything was truly awesome! From the customer service, to the nostalgic ice cream parlor feel, to the quality 46 flavors themselves (of which I probably tried about 10 of them) everything was superb!!! I am not a person that readily reviews things, but oh my goodness, I have nothing negative to say. I highly recommend it! It is very welcoming and family friendly! I would add more stars if possible. We were riding around enjoying the day and I thought ice cream would be great. We decided to try something other than Dairy Queen or Sonic. Went in and sat at the counter and told the older man that I was in the mood for something really chocolaty. He just looked at me and walked away. Zero personality. Ok, I decided to get the chocolate chocolate chip and told him when he came back. The ice cream is really good, but is bit worth it? We then ate our ice cream and checked out the yelp reviews. All the comments about the signs about not touching all the crap toys is true. Why display all this junk at eye level for kids to see and have signs that threaten? This is hell for parents. This place could really be something if they got rid of all the rude signs and tried being friendly. The people that work here really seem unhappy and are definitely not friendly. Just left from the Pink Dipper. One word of advice - if the owners are there, LEAVE and go back when they are not. First, they do not greet you when you enter their establishment. Second, they skimp on the ice cream scoops. I paid for FOUR scoops of ice cream but it looks as if I only received TWO! With these people, who you are is what drives the service. If they know you, you are treated well and if they don't - well you can read the other negative reviews about that.
