Day 3 on long drive from CA to OH and found Pinemark!! Thank goodness! AMAZING family owned motel with ALL the comfortable, luxurious,thoughtful amenities! Staff were incredibly friendly and attentive. Rooms had beautiful modern furnishings. And the breakfast... JUST WOW! Ash did a wonderful job... 3 different types of eggs, 2 types of sausage, grits, biscuits and gravy and a push-button pancake maker! (Which my husband loved!) Their merch wall was a great touch... hats, signature pillows, very classy things. Then the Lobby... so comfortable with fireplace, leather sofas, game/eating tables, popcorn machine, and games galore!! Outwardly, Pinemark looks like an unremarkable motel. Nothing fancy. Just a place to stay on a roadtrip. In reality, Pinemark is hard to beat. The facilities have been renovated, and have the feel of a tastefully decorated home. The outdoor pool (with salt water!) and fire pits are wonderful gathering spots, especially for families with kids. And the lobby is extremely inviting, with free popcorn, coffee, and fruit, a variety of board games, and daily breakfast. In short, our trip to Pinemark was a revelation. We stayed here while visiting family in the area. The breakfast was really good and hot. We ordered a flatbread pizza. It was good, just enough to take the edge off before taking the grandkids out. Our dog even enjoyed it there. We will probably stay there more often. read more

We drive to St. Louis very often and this was the first time we stopped for an overnight stay at Pinemark (in St. Clair), it will be a permanent stop from now on... If you're wondering why it has a 9.6 rating, it is superior in every way. The front lobby is very inviting, you're greeted with a warm smile, popcorn (as much as u like), cozy couches with books and a fire place, coffee with seriously a lot of flavors (pod), even a cozy game of chess. We got a double double room on the first floor and it was very clean, and even with the wood floors, it was cozy. We had quick access to our car (which was very convenient) and in the morning, it was very easy to just skip over to the lounge for breakfast. The showerhead was like rainfall and the hot water comes on right away. Very clean bathroom and lots of clean towels. The room has a tv, microwave, coffeemaker, fridge, large desk with an office chair. The wifi was pretty stable. The best part was the breakfast! There was a little pancake machine that you can watch the mini pancakes being cooked down a little belt and you can catch them at the end. All you need to do is push the ok button! You can get biscuits and gravy, make your own breakfast tortilla, and there's awesome toppings like salsa, mushroom, sausage, etc. There's little yogurt cups, and an assortment of cereals and instant oatmeal. Wow--just wow! This was one of the most amazing hotel experiences I've ever had. I travel for work and spend around 100 nights a year in hotels, and this stay truly stood out. I had unexpected vehicle trouble and pulled in here expecting very little. My goodness, was I wrong. From the highway it looks like a normal hotel, but it isn't. The property is immaculate--not a burned-out bulb, an uncut blade of grass, or a piece of peeling paint in sight. Everything is cared for with pride. The staff was outstanding. They were so warm and welcoming, it felt like staying at my auntie's house down South. I'm fairly sure it's a family-run operation, and it shows in the way they treat guests. The rooms felt more like tastefully decorated apartments than hotel rooms--complete with leather couches and homelike details that made me instantly comfortable. I was so impressed by the service that I called down to compliment the staff before checkout--and they surprised me by meeting me at my door with a gift. I came her with the family and it was an extremely favorable stay. We had a club semi suite and we ended up having room for the kids too with the insta beds. My kids loved the jacuzzi tub. The salt water pool had a great shallow end for littles, and the umbrellas provided shade. The staff was helpful and nice. We enjoyed s'mores at the fire pit and there was a good breakfast spread. My kids also enjoyed the games in the lobby and popcorn. The room itself had nice furnishings, was clean, and I appreciated that it was fragrance free. We didn't have a pet, but it is pet friendly and all of the dogs were extremely well behaved. Our family had a great time! read more

Traveling back to Dallas and needed a place to rest for the night. Couple of options at this exit but I'm sure glad we chose this one. The young lady at check in was extremely nice and helpful to recommend nearby places to eat. The hotel lobby was welcoming, comfortable, and cozy. I wasn't sure what to expect but when we got into our room, I was pleasantly impressed by the touches made to make the room inviting and accessible. The room was very clean and looked like great care was put into every detail for their guests. The hotel has a really nice pool, a clean dog park, and food onsite. (We ended up going for pizza at Gabby's which was minutes away and within walking distance). The morning breakfast buffet was excellent and impressive! Pinemark checks all the boxes when I'm looking for accommodations, from their yummy breakfast, to their well-appointed rooms, their beautiful landscaping and updated pool area, not to mention the friendly and courteous staff. This hotel is well worth the money, comparable to any other luxury property I've stayed at, at a much more reasonable cost. Another wonderful asset this property has is its event space. For a "two star" hotel, this place gets five stars from me. It was beautifully decorated, clean, spacious, and friendly. Theresa at the front desk is wonderful. I chose this inn because it's unique, rooms were fully remodeled, and it's family owned. Our stay was nearly perfect. The room was not only remodeled, but it was very similar to the Hilton Garden Inn where we stayed the night before. That doesn't mean it's fancy - neither property is. But it was modern utilitarian with a couple of nice touches. For example, the first room had a fridge; Pinemark did, too, but it also had a freezer for our ice chest freezer blocks. It had a microwave but the Hilton did not. It had free breakfast and the Hilton did not! It was spotlessly cleaned (I appreciate the lack of carpet), had a comfortable bed and sofa, and the shampoo from the dispenser smelled great. There were absolutely no signs of wear and tear. The negatives both involve noise. I asked for a room away from the highway to avoid road noise. I was assured by email that the room would be. I assumed this meant the back side of the building. It didn't. We faced the interstate and had truck noise all night. I can sleep through that but my partner can't. Second, it's a pet friendly property which is generally good. However, we awoke to a large dog woofing on one side of our room and a little dog yipping endlessly on the other side. This didn't offset all the good features but it made a less than perfect 5 star stay. read more

I have stayed at this roadside motel many times during trips across the Midwest. This is a great no frills motel. The rooms are clean and updated. The beds are comfy and staff is always friendly. If you're on the road with your dogs this is the place to stop!! They have a really nice dog park out in the back. After 3 12hour days of driving finding out we could let our dogs run around was the best news ever!! Ok onto the actual hotel. The girl who checked us in was super friendly. There was popcorn in the lobby. Lobby is super cute and you can tell immediately that the owners show a lot of care and pride in this place. Rooms do not have carpet which is a HUGE plus- feels so much cleaner. Rooms are very clean, well kept and comfortable. Bathrooms have good smelling soaps. There's a mini fridge, microwave and little coffee maker in our room. This place has tons of parking and plenty of designated space for large trailer parking which is a huge relief if you're hauling. We have a 20ft Uhaul towing a trailer with one of our cars. It was a breeze to park here. I don't see ourselves being in this area again because we're just driving through on a cross country move but I wish every little roadside hotel was even half this nice. Highly recommend. read more

What a delightful spot. I stayed here 4 nights for some local work and was very pleasantly surprised. This is not a white/glass/stainless steel aesthetic. The hotel is a little rustic and old school but warm and welcoming and is up kept and maintained. The rooms are cozy. The beds are comfty. The staff is super friendly. You will find an open a bible and bible verse art on the wall but it wasn't pushy in anyway otherwise. Also they allow dogs! Which is a bonus. So if you're doing rt66 I'd recommend this hotel for your overnight stop to give you a little nostalgia and a good nights sleep. read more

Just love this hometown Inn. Has great charm and the staff is so friendly. At check-in, you see a chess board, a beautiful fireplace, a cozy leather sofa, a coffee, hot chocolate and tea bar that's a help yourself all day. They have a very nice hot breakfast buffet and dining area. They offer popcorn in the evening that you can enjoy around the fire pit or sit on the pool deck. They have outdoor showers to rinse off the chemicals. The rooms have been renovated - no carpet!!! That alone makes me happy. The beds are comfy, the AC works and our room is plenty spacious.
