A few things that could take the experience from good to excellent: It would be great if coffee & alcohol drinks could be served to guests at their tables instead of everyone having to line up at the bar. The cruise goes by quickly, and time spent waiting in line could instead be spent enjoying the views or the company of your guests. I would even be willing to spend more money per ticket for the wine/alcohol to be included and served, so we don't have to start a tab or pay for every cocktail. I also wish we could choose our main course ahead of time. I don't eat fish, so that part of my entrée unfortunately went to waste. The flowers were delivered but they missed the second arrangement for the podium. My dad was already upset considering the event so I tried to call the florist to inquire. It was a Sunday and the shop was closed. We had to display a different arrangement that was sent by family friends but it didn't match what we ordered. In general, the flowers arrangements were pretty but the quality of flowers were just ok and they weren't as full as expected. We also noticed some were already brown on the edges at the wake-day of delivery. I feel like they didn't use the freshest flowers. The arrangement on the tripod was much smaller than displayed in the photo book and had lots of welted flowers. We also paid $215 for that arrangement and it wasn't nearly as full as the picture in the book they showed us. Overall, disappointed. I did reach out on Monday and the shop employee was apologetic and issued a partial refund to my dad for the missing arrangement. Not happy that we had to reach out, instead of the shop, to inquire about our missing flower order. Not sure if adding to the order caused confusion. Wasn't given any type of reason but also didn't care by that point.

For $143 I expected more. They had less food variety as well. They use to have an omelette stations which they no longer have. And my daughter was sad to see they didn't have a chocolate fountain like they did in previous years. We are usually not complainers, however we decided to talk to the general manager and now we see why things are the way they are. My husband let him know the staggered times worked better. The manager shrugged his shoulders and said this is the way we have done it for the last 3 years. I said the food wasn't as good as previous years and he shrugged his shoulders. We felt welcomed from the instant we pulled into the drive. The breakfast the next morning was amazing: a wonderful fruit assortment, caramel sticky buns, and a mouth watering egg strata. I also appreciated their flexibility in easily accommodating my vegetarian diet. Apple Gate Inn is also within a block of the Katy Trail and a stone's throw from Augusta Brewing Co.
