Piazza Messina- order area. Put in and pick up. Easy. The wait staff is so nice and explained it all.

1st for brunch. Been for a wedding. Went at 10:45 so we could order brunch and off the Bistro menu. Brunch- Huevos Rancho Benedict- eggs-avo on a fried masa tortilla. Flavorful take on the two classics. Bistro- Ultm Italian BeefSandw- garlic buttered toasted baguette w provolone and completed by giardiniera! Great touch. Especially if you enjoy Chicago Italian Beefs). Will be back for More!!

We had a great experience here. The staff was friendly and the food was delicious. The staff went out of their way to ensure we were taken care of. The band was fantastic and their patio is beautiful. Can't wait to return when the weather gets warmer to sit outside.

In October 2025 we had our BEST DAY EVER! The venue was beautiful and just what we were looking for; elegant, well kept, and were able to bundle pre-wedding hosting at the bridal cottage and grooms loft with the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. Communication was definitely there during the planning which was amazing. They offered food tasting on a specific day each month which was helpful, though it mainly had items we weren't interested in serving. The catering included the cake so we -bought- the cake taster tray at the event, as they only offered one flavor to try. There was a minimum dollar amount, we had a smaller wedding (70 guests) so therefore we added on extras to make it so much more special and to hit the minimum dollar amount. The extras we added on were the upgraded passed appetizers, inside and outside bar, fire pits, assorted cookie bar, upgraded meals including salmon and steak, and two kinds of dips for late night snacks. I've been hesitant to review because it wasn't what I expected, though my guests were impressed. The day of the wedding it rained-no big deal. We were able to do pictures inside, though when it came to any kind of availability, we couldn't find many staff members except one guy setting up. Everything was arranged as I asked, beautifully, though staff members were scarce. We chose to also have the bar open pre-ceremony to have our guests comfortable with a drink in hand. After the ceremony we had the cocktail hour continue with the passed appetizers. The ones we looked forward to the most (Beef Wellington) were barely passed out in addition to the staff neglecting to pass them to us, the bride and groom. They did set a plate at our table with two of each appetizer so we could try after social hour but they were not good by the time we got to them. Next was salad, rolls, and then our entrees. Not everyone got rolls, though the guests raved about the food. The night carried on and I noticed more flaws- fire pits were out but not lit, the outside bar was indeed not opened and when my MOH asked they said they would have to shut down the inside bar to have the same bartender tend outside. What? When it came to the dance floor, the dj had asked us about staff to clear more of a space with the tables and no one could be found to help so the dance floor stayed limited. The cookies and dips at "late hour" were mediocre unfortunately, but not upset they were included. Prior to our wedding date they said if we wanted to include gratuity, it must be done prior. That's ironic. Overall the venue and event was worth it, and it still was the best day ever, though over $16k for one day felt excessive with promises not fulfilled.

I have visited Piazza Messina 2 years in a row now for two different celebrations of life. If we're going to have to keep celebrating life... You know, to say goodbye... This is where I think we should do it. It's a beautiful place inside and out. It's architecturally interesting. There's a spiral staircase leading to the area where groomsmen get ready. The outdoor space is attractive and probably fun for kids because there's a pond and first time I was there I saw some waterfowl. The food is catered by Russo's was fantastic both times and I am a picky vegetarian I still eat plenty. There is plenty of space whether the big room is split into two rooms or combined into one. This is where I intend to have a future event.

I have a new favorite place for drinks and good eats. Wed and Thurs nights starting at 4pm you can get drinks and shareable bites in a great outdoor setting. Surrounded by a beautiful lake and breeze. This wedding/event venue opens up a few times a week and for brunch on Sundays. Reasonable prices, good food and quick service. Order at the counter/bar and get texted when food is ready. The perfect way to spend a nice evening in good weather. Live music too.

On a beautiful day... with kids in tow- this was fabulous place to visit with out-of-town family. The covered patio had both hanging lights and translucent sky lights. The band was nice and the kids out on a improve show (kids were patrons celebrating a 1st birthday party). Other birthday parties celebrations too k here. The restaurant seems will suited for people of all ages to celebrate. The salad was fresh and well put together. Having both the brunch menu and a lunch menu made everyone very happy. Once I carried my tea to the table, I got a text message my salad was ready to pick up. I had to order at the bar and pick-up ourselves, but a buzzer cleared our table when we went inside. Small things like water being available and restrooms being clean was appreciated. This place was a up-scale bargain for the family get-together.

Had a brunch baby shower Sunday 7/20/2025 for family. Absolutely perfect!! Food was amazing! Venue setup in the corner area with curtains kept it private. Couldn't be better. Highly recommend!

I had attended a wedding at Piazza Messina! It's actually a pretty small venue but can fit quite a bit. My family's wedding I attended was 300 people and I believe that was the max to have. They wanted to invite more friends and family but had to limit their invites. The venue is big enough for people to be inside and out but not for all 300 people to be on the dance floor....if that was the case. I think it would be way too small. The wedding was beautiful, the venue was pretty. Everyone had a good time!

I know this place is known for weddings, but I was invited here for their Sunday brunch. It was way better than I could have expected. When you walk In, you'll see indoor seating and outdoor seating. You order at the bar including your food and then they text you when it's ready. I thought that was a little strange for a brunch. The food....very very very good! I had a ham and cheese omelet, hash browns and a biscuit. I ordered a side of sausage gravy on the side so I could have biscuits and gravy too! The mimosa bucket is a better deal. One bottle of champagne, juice and glasses for like $20. A regular mimosa is $9 and we got almost 9 mimosas out of the bucket. I would definitely come again.

Why drive way down Route 94 to wine country when a perfect wine venue is right in Cottleville? The food here is MUCH BETTER than the wineries along 94 AND a bottle of wine is more reasonable! Piazza Messina is a gem! We like going on Sunday afternoon and getting a bottle of wine, a cheese platter and enjoy this overlooking the lake and swans.

What a gorgeous place! We went here for a friends wedding reception and everything was truly breathtaking. The food was amazing. The view outside of the lakes was beautiful. Everything was clean and the staff was friendly. Excited to come here again.

First time visiting this hidden gem nestled in Cottleville! It offers live music, brunch/lunch, wine, and beer (draft and bottle) on beautiful grounds on Sunday afternoons! We were VERY IMPRESSED with the freshly prepared, tasty food! Looking forward to returning soon!

TL:DR - Just do it. Ruth and Mike are amazing. The venue is gorgeous and the value is unbeatable…read more I cannot say enough positive things about Ruth/Mike and their venue. At literally 25% of the costs of the other venue we were looking at, you CANNOT do better than Ruth and Stone House. Not only do you get a great venue and day of coordinator in Ruth, you also get a DJ and a treasure trove of items to use on your big day like lanterns and garlands. Using her items vs. buying your own, helps alleviate some of the issues with finding homes for 50 black lanterns later. The venue itself is ABSOLUTELY gorgeous. Its great high ceilings and woodwork will make for a super unique venue that will make your day unforgettable. I cannot tell you how many people have told us how beautiful the venue was afterwards. We had a few special things we wanted to do for our guests like putting hand written name cards out at their seats and play a few jokes on our friends. We had asked volunteers to come help us do all of this, but Ruth and her staff was already on top of it and took care of everything and beyond. Ruth even helped our jokes by writing some Chinese on our seating chart. Ruth was super communicative throughout the entire process, making herself available both via email and texts, never taking longer than 24 hours to respond. We had our ceremony inside and her staff was able to flip the interior in no time, making the transition from ceremony to reception seamless. We literally cannot sing her praises enough.

Stone House Of St. Charles This place isn't worth it. Don't…read moreget me wrong the place is unquestionably beautiful. However, the owner Ruth overshadows that with her rudeness, condescension, pushiness, and interference. Stone House isn't cheap so you would think you would be able to have your wedding the way you want it. Not with Ruth around. A wedding day should be about the bride and groom. If you want it that way do not use Stone House. There are lots of venues that are just as pretty that don't come with an owner who is overbearing and tries to force you do what she think you should want vs what you as a couple actually want. My husband and I got married there a few weeks ago and I hardly know where to start so I'll go in order. First, you can only used one of her caterers and of the five only one will respond so it's not a stretch to figure out that they are friends. The food was so-so and the carterer was easy to work with so I can make my piece with that. Second, the bar BOOZE BROTHERS. You are required to use them and they are impossible to work with because of their lack of communication. I would be hazard to guess that the only reason they are in business is because of Stone House. Nobody would book them otherwise. Ruth's son runs Booze Brothers. The only way to reach them is to email mommy and after she or her husband reaches out to them, they will respond to an email. There was a required meeting with Ruth a few weeks before the wedding. I knew then that we were going to have a problem. She'd ask a question and before I could finish a sentence she'd interrupt and keep talking. I tried to tell her what we wanted and how we wanted things set-up and not only did she keep interrupting she argued with me that what we wanted wasn't a good idea. Just for context part of what I do is directing production shows which includes organizing local and national talent. I know how to put on an event. It only took about ten minutes for me to just sit back and let my husband talk. She tried to interrupt him also, but he just kept talking until she eventually, reluctantly agreed we could set up our wedding and reception the way we wanted. Ruth requires rehearsals to be the Thursday before the wedding at her designated time. So, good luck to anyone in your wedding party who is coming in from out of town. When we arrived, I began introducing people and then started from the beginning of the ceremony and intended to go in order until the end. Well, Ruth had no intention of letting that happen. She wanted to start in the middle and then circle around to get back to the beginning. Since our previous meeting, my husband and I had come up with a pretty nice way to honor my parents who had passed which meant it moved where some people sat. So, I was having to go around behind Ruth correcting her as she went. Ruth is a very loud woman and asked me if I wanted her to run the rehearsal or not. I told her I did not that I was perfectly cable of running a rehearsal. I had also told her this when we arrived. Evidently, it was a rhetorical question because she kept talking and directly people the way SHE wanted them to be. I was frustrated and tired of arguing with her so I sat down and watched with some amusement about the ludicrously as she stumbled through the most unorganized and confusing rehearsal, I had ever seen in almost 40 years. What resulted was a group 12 people leaving rehearsal without a clue as to what they were doing. So, I had to conduct 12 individual rehearsals on Friday and Saturday before my wedding started. Ruth also said they she would be running things the day of the wedding and her "team" would be giving instructions and orders. I put my foot down there and told her there would be no one ordering anyone around. The person running the wedding would by our DJ. As far as the DJ, it is included in her price. However, Ruth refuses to let you meet with him or her prior to the wedding. I would never agree to let someone in such an important role be selected without a meeting. That, in my opinion, is a recipe for disaster. So, my husband and I spend the money to hire our own DJ and it was money well spent. Despite the fact that Ruth made her life miserable for a week before the wedding and made digs at her the day of, she was professional and made sure that things went according to the plan my husband and I laid out. The day of the wedding, I gave my bridesmaids one job. Keep Ruth away from me. Unfortunately, her "team" wasn't much nicer than she was. The day went smoothly because our DJ did take over and my Husband's mother oversaw the set-up. Ruth sent her rules at least four or five times and they are all listed in the contract. We obeyed every rule no matter how small or stupid it was. However, Ruth violated her own contact. Her contract states that Stone House will get, set-up, and repack any items that are brought in exactly as they receive them. I packed every box carefully and labeled them. About 9

This place was....interesting…read more I'll be honest, it popped up as a pumpkin patch. My sister just moved to the area and was looking for one close for her kiddos, and this was around the corner, so we decided to give it a try. To start, it was $10/person to get in, which wasn't really promoted. We've lived many different places and have never had to pay to get into a pumpkin patch, so that was a surprise. Kids were the same price, also a surprise. The property is pretty cool, they have some farm animals. They sold food to buy but half the animals you couldn't feed and the other half were already full from being fed so much. We assumed it was a regular petting zoo and bought some food before seeing it, so we ended up with leftover bags of food and no animals to feed. The hay ride only went once hourly so you basically had to wait around forever if you wanted to ride it. The maze was cool and the concept seemed really fun to find a message BUT the first word on the message was "God" and honestly, nowhere did they promote this farm as a religious-based experience. Lastly - the pumpkins. We came here for one reason. They don't even grow pumpkins on site, they ship them in, and they don't keep them stocked. I think we had like 20-30 pumpkins to choose from, if that, and they were picked over. We had a 4YO and a 6YO and they couldn't pick any of the pumpkins up, all the kid size ones were already sold. I feel like this could be a good spot for what it is, and if it was marketed as that - a Christian family fun farm experience. But, that's not what we had expected based on the marketing they had, so it was a bit of a disappointment for us.
