We visited The Public School House for their Ghoul House and Haunted Trail event. We went on Family Night with our kids -- the trail was short but fun, and just spooky enough for younger ones. The Ghoul House itself was really cool and well-decorated for Halloween, with a great festive atmosphere. We ordered some food and drinks, which were decent, though definitely on the pricey side -- but we figured part of that cost goes toward the overall experience. Service was friendly and efficient, and everything ran smoothly despite the crowd. Overall, it was a fun seasonal outing for the family, and we'll likely go again next year!

I love this place for their pop up bar themes. I have been several times. It is always fun to see the themed decorations. This time they cut back in that department. It was a Wizard of Oz theme this time around. When I've gone for multiple holiday themes they go all out. The drinks and appetizers have catchy names and are served with great attention to detail. It seems to be the same drinks with different names for each theme. I wish there was more of a variety on occasion. I will definitely go back this fall for Halloween. It's by far the best!

Public school house always offer a creative and beautifully decorated pop-up bar. Drinks are always amazing but food is generally simple and overpriced. I understand reserving a payed table but would be fantastic if they started applying part of the reservation fee to the tab, as many other pop-up bars are not charging a table fee. $65 for two drinks, an app and a table reservation(per person)

My husband and I decided to FINALLY try this place out...I'm always hearing about their unique pop-ups so I kept an eye on when they were selling tickets for seating for their most recent pop-up, The Love Shack, and I actually scored tickets for the day before Valentine's Day. We walked in and were greeted right away and sat at our seats at the bar....the seats weren't the MOST comfortable especially for my husband who is a pretty big dude but we made it work. The bar tender was personable and we ordered our drinks and food right there. The drinks were super tasty and were great for the theme of The Love Shack! Super cute!!! The only complaint I would have is that for an alcoholic drink....you didn't feel anything. The lettuce wrapped meatballs were super delicious and the fries!!!!! Yummers!!!! The meat skewers were just okay.... I think this is someplace I would bring my girlfriends next time to!!! It was beautifully decorated and romantic...but, I feel like my girlfriends would have appreciated this more than my husband did! We had a great time and it had wonderful customer service, pretty good food and themed drinks!

Been here for multiple pop up bars and the most recent one, Harry Potter, was a blast! They always go all out for decorations- the details are fantastic. We had a great experience this go around. Our reservation was 7-9pm, and we were seated promptly at a table for 6. Right when we walked in we saw all of the letters hanging from the ceiling, the sorting hat, house flags, and servers dressed up as characters. It's such a fun vibe. They have a limited menu, which makes sense since the stars of the show are the cocktails. These menus in particular fit the theme well, as they were newspapers. They had brats, chicken, and a tenderloin in puff pastry option. The drinks were awesome!! I got the Margarita which came with a side of butterfly pea flower syrup that made it purple. It was rimmed with black salt (again, the details). We also had the bamboozled shots, just like the beans in the books. These were soooo fun to try and guess what flavors they had! I ended up with snot lol- which was a lemon drop flavor. Kudos to the Public School House team. Can't wait for the next pop up!

I've been to so many events here and they are top notch. The staff is so friendly and you can tell they love their jobs. The owners are always there interacting and ensuring people are having a good time. The theme pop ups are beyond any I've been to. The food partners are high quality and the crafted cocktails are amazing! Can't recommend this place enough for girls nights out, date nights or your next big event!

This was my second time here for a pop up bar, and I have to say I did enjoy the selection of food and drinks better the last time I came for a Valentine's event, with that being said it was decorated cute as before, the staff was friendly and attentive as ever.

Toasted Chestnut - Holiday Popup Bar. This was beautifully decorated for holiday lights. The indoor restaurant was also nicely decorated and they have table available for reservations. As we didn't find a reservation, still decided to stop by and check out. Parking was troublesome, very less amount of parking spots , we were lucky to find a spot right in front of entrance. If you dont have reservations, they have tent behind the house, to accommodate the guests they also have a patio heater. Behind this house there is Christmas lights walk which is $8 per person. I really loved the atmosphere and place, i will definitely try to go here with reservation and a group of friends to spend couple hours

The Public School House in Historic Cottleville is a charming gem that beautifully marries history with event hosting. Housed in a former one-room schoolhouse built in 1875, it has been lovingly restored to its former glory and transformed into a unique event venue that is perfect for a wide array of gatherings including a Halloween popup, Christmas popup & Valentine's Day popup. So nostalgic with a great patio! Clearly, we attended the Halloween Popup and it was incredibly fun!!!!!

THE CUTEST PLACE EVER!! If you have never been to one of their Holiday pop ups, use this as a sign to go. They go all out with decorations and curate a holiday drink menu. As you can see in the interior photo, this place is incredible! Even more so is for Christmas they put tons of christmas lights up and do heated igloos! We got SEVERAL drinks. I got the LIT drink, a peppermint drink, and a santa's cookie shot. My friend had the boozy hot chocolate & a santa shot!

    Candy Cane Blast

The ambiance was amazing -- every corner of the establishment was decorated for the holidays. I felt like I was in a live Candyland Game. The service was friendly and responsive. The drink menu was fun and had a good selection-- enjoyed the Candy Cane Blast. The food was a bit disappointing. I ordered a flatbread and the crust was quite undercooked; however the goat cheese and vegetable toppings were really good. Overall, a fun experience with friends.

My friends and I came for the Christmas holiday pop up bar. The inside is so cute and festive. Every inch of the place is decked out in Christmas stuff! The service was very fast and quick which we liked since our reservation was for only 2 hours. The drinks were so good! We all ordered different drinks so we could try them all and there was not one I didn't like. We also got the shots and they were very big and just as good as the drinks. My favorite drink was the Russian nog. The food is from sugar fire and that was very good. We ordered the nachos and the meat balls. The meat balls were too sweet for my liking but good. The nachos were massive enough for 3 people to share and my favorite! The gave 4 stars instead of 5 because you have to pay to make a reservation and then the prices for the drinks and food were a little pricey considering we had to pay for the reservation. Overall, it was a fun experience, good food and drinks.

Communication was definitely there during the planning which was amazing. They offered food tasting on a specific day each month which was helpful, though it mainly had items we weren't interested in serving. The catering included the cake so we -bought- the cake taster tray at the event, as they only offered one flavor to try. There was a minimum dollar amount, we had a smaller wedding (70 guests) so therefore we added on extras to make it so much more special and to hit the minimum dollar amount. The extras we added on were the upgraded passed appetizers, inside and outside bar, fire pits, assorted cookie bar, upgraded meals including salmon and steak, and two kinds of dips for late night snacks. I've been hesitant to review because it wasn't what I expected, though my guests were impressed. The day of the wedding it rained-no big deal. We were able to do pictures inside, though when it came to any kind of availability, we couldn't find many staff members except one guy setting up. Everything was arranged as I asked, beautifully, though staff members were scarce. We chose to also have the bar open pre-ceremony to have our guests comfortable with a drink in hand. After the ceremony we had the cocktail hour continue with the passed appetizers. The ones we looked forward to the most (Beef Wellington) were barely passed out in addition to the staff neglecting to pass them to us, the bride and groom. They did set a plate at our table with two of each appetizer so we could try after social hour but they were not good by the time we got to them. Next was salad, rolls, and then our entrees. Not everyone got rolls, though the guests raved about the food. The night carried on and I noticed more flaws- fire pits were out but not lit, the outside bar was indeed not opened and when my MOH asked they said they would have to shut down the inside bar to have the same bartender tend outside. What? When it came to the dance floor, the dj had asked us about staff to clear more of a space with the tables and no one could be found to help so the dance floor stayed limited. The cookies and dips at "late hour" were mediocre unfortunately, but not upset they were included. Prior to our wedding date they said if we wanted to include gratuity, it must be done prior. That's ironic. Overall the venue and event was worth it, and it still was the best day ever, though over $16k for one day felt excessive with promises not fulfilled.

This place was....interesting…read more I'll be honest, it popped up as a pumpkin patch. My sister just moved to the area and was looking for one close for her kiddos, and this was around the corner, so we decided to give it a try. To start, it was $10/person to get in, which wasn't really promoted. We've lived many different places and have never had to pay to get into a pumpkin patch, so that was a surprise. Kids were the same price, also a surprise. The property is pretty cool, they have some farm animals. They sold food to buy but half the animals you couldn't feed and the other half were already full from being fed so much. We assumed it was a regular petting zoo and bought some food before seeing it, so we ended up with leftover bags of food and no animals to feed. The hay ride only went once hourly so you basically had to wait around forever if you wanted to ride it. The maze was cool and the concept seemed really fun to find a message BUT the first word on the message was "God" and honestly, nowhere did they promote this farm as a religious-based experience. Lastly - the pumpkins. We came here for one reason. They don't even grow pumpkins on site, they ship them in, and they don't keep them stocked. I think we had like 20-30 pumpkins to choose from, if that, and they were picked over. We had a 4YO and a 6YO and they couldn't pick any of the pumpkins up, all the kid size ones were already sold. I feel like this could be a good spot for what it is, and if it was marketed as that - a Christian family fun farm experience. But, that's not what we had expected based on the marketing they had, so it was a bit of a disappointment for us.
