The $10 Wednesday special was delicious and quite plentiful as always. There was a bit of a wait this evening. I don't mind sharing a communal table and enjoy meeting new people. The restaurant was completely packed and only 2 servers. Raven and her coworker were really hustling to take care of patrons. Previously, you ordered and paid at the bar and food was brought to you. Actual table service is nice, but more help is needed to be successful. Would also recommend making it clear upfront that you can not pay with cash; debit or credit only.
We were really hyped up to come out to what seemed to be an authentic Biergarten! The music was sometimes German sometimes not. It was also good and loud. The music on the speakers (separate from the live) was a very odd choice for a German themed location. The inside wasn't as clean as I would've hoped. But the staff was great to us, and the other people there were friendly. The beer was good, there's really only one German beer (a few kinds, one brand) I think, and the food was satisfying but didn't blow my mind or anything. Won't be returning but I wish them all the best
Went to the Mary Poppins Singalong event and had dinner also. Their feta cheese dip was wonderful with the deep fried pita chips. My friend ordered the schnitzel, as big as the plate, along with mashed potatoes. I ordered the saurbraten good flavor but I like mine a little more vinegary. The red cabbage was very good but just a little overpowering with the clove, but still tasty. The apple strudel with vanilla ice cream and the carrot cake was very satisfying!! Looking forward to going back again for another event.
My hubby and I were in the Rathskeller of Das Bevo to watch a friend's band. The decor and seating were awesome. There is also a bar down there that serves great drinks. We were able to order food to be brought to our table which was delicious. All of the staff was very friendly. I told my sister we need to go and eat upstairs because it looks amazing and we can try more delicious German food!
There's usually live music events going on inside or outside of Das Bevo. The inside is huge and feels like you are hanging inside a castle. I went to the Speakeasy Friday to see Miss Jubilee. Tickets were $10, which you could buy online or at the door, and it was located in the cool, dimly lit basement. 90% of the tables were filled up in this venue. They did a good job with the décor to make it feel like the roaring 20's. They had a limited menu for food and drinks. The music was lovely, but hard to hear at times because people were trying to talk above it. Miss Jubilee was not spotlighted and sang in the shadows. Mushroom Spaetzle $18 - Generous portion, a bit salty. Das Great Gatsby Board $25 - Bratwurst, spicy sausage, sauerkraut, mashed potatoes, and a pretzel with a side of mustard and cheese sauce. Character, alcohol, German food and amazing decor! What else do you need? A huge cozy fireplace? Check! A biergarten for warm weather and music? Check! Das Bevo has all of this and much more! What do I love about Das Bevo? It is perfect any time of the year. They have delicious food, like the loaded wurst and many beer, cocktail and wine options. The main room has plenty of seating options with tables, tall tables, a large couch (by the fireplace). This is also a great place for a large group or for an event space. Das Bevo often has fun activities like beer choir, bands, sing a longs, holiday cocktail happy hour, petting zoo, markets just to name a few. They also have brunch. Das Bevo is such a unique St. Louis landmark that needs to be one of your "go to" places!
I have been to the iconic Das Bevo several times for Maifest, Oktoberfest, Sunday brunch, Gin World and a trivia night. It is rich in history and a beautiful spot to visit. During the Fests, they have a lot of seating outdoors and available indoors as well. They have permanent bathrooms indoors and outdoors as well. They have a large parking lot and there is street parking nearby. The food is better than average. I really like their fish and chips plate. It's flavorful and served hot. The fries are crisp.

I hadn't been to Bevo Mill since I was a kid and while it's a lottle different now with ordering at the bar and sitting at community tables, the building is still just so unique and makes it feel like a special night out. The schnitzel was pretty good, not like FANTASTIC but for $10 it it a huge piece and comes with mashed potatoes. They have lots of German beer options on tap and delicious desserts (we tried the German Chocolate cake). If you enjoy sharing a table with folks then you have yo check this out on a Wednesday night!!
The atmosphere is fun, the windmill is cool! I love the outside seating despite it being right on the road. There was live music and it wasn't too crowded. The drinks were decent and we got the German charcuterie type board with mashed potatoes bratwurst and more. Would come back to this place again!
Formally Bevo Mill this restaurant is a great night out. Every Wednesday they have ten dollar suppers. We went on schnitzel night. Biggest schnitz I've ever seen. The regulars warned us that meatloaf night gets busy too. They have urban chestnut and four hands beer on tap. You order at the bar they give you a number and you go find a seat. Family style seating in what feels like a medieval tavern. Good food, good drink, and great ambiance. Wednesdays is an older crowd because with wisdom comes knowledge of the best deals for a night out and Wednesday at Bevo fits the bill.

The menu is so unique with German offerings. The building is so rich in history. With both of having German heritage it just feels good dining here. I ordered the fish and fries being a Friday in Lent. It was good, however, I wish I would have ordered a German dish. The creamy coleslaw was probably the best I've had. My husband ordered the Sauerbraten which is pot roast. It was served with spaetzle, red cabbage and veggie of the day which was green beans. He absolutely loved his meal. You order at the bar and server brings food to your table. They let us wander around the premises while we were waiting for our food. Climbed the stairs to the top (never been up there) and saw all the rooms that must have been private living quarters in the day. Looked out the windows where the mill was spinning by. Went to the basement where there is a bar and large room for entertaining. The outside patio looks amazing. We will be back. We go to the Arkadian for movies down the street and this is a perfect place to get dinner before the movie. We are in love with this place!
Das Bevo is such a fun venue. Driving down to their location off of Gravois, is such an epic experience. Upon approach, you are greeted by the iconic windmill in motion. My friends and I attended the buy one get one 'Martini Madness' event and had a splendid time. It's a spacious, open concept room when you walk in. Reminiscent of a German Bier Hall, there is plenty of seating, tables and standing room. Cozy couches placed near a roaring fire was a lovely setting for the chilly evening. Families with kids or a couples night out, all are welcome here. The cheap deal on drinks was great but they were tasty too! I tried the espresso martini, which is always a classic and my personal favorite. I also tried the red delicious apple martini which was on the sweeter side but a nice treat to finish out the girl's night. We shared some appetizers; the cheddar biscuits, Brussels sprouts, pretzel and sausage platter with sauerkraut and mustard and the fries with beer cheese. Everything tasted great but the Brussels sprouts were the star of the show with a honey and balsamic glaze which were slightly crispy. The last event I attended here was an adult Easter egg hunt! I highly recommend this place especially in the summer to enjoy their patio during live music events. Another fantastic and vibey place in Stl.
Das Bevo is such an interesting place with multiple floors to explore. The main entry floor has a very lovely set up and this Friday had a table side magician! Pretty casual establishment overall where you order food from the bar. The lower level, where I sat, is even more relaxed and had a live band playing. Really great way to enjoy dinner! The food is good, unsurprisingly the pretzels were divine. I will definitely come back in the future. Looks like they have a good size patio I'd love to check out in the warmer months.
My friends and I went to the Mary Poppins sing along. Unfortunately the closed caption was not on for us to sing a few songs. We did know a few songs and sung loudly! The food was delicious. We ordered the brusselsprouts, pretzels, and fried green beans. All appetizers. Yum! Service was super. Bevo Mill is a very nostalgic place for me. When I turned 21, my dad took me there for a manhatta. That was many, many years ago. Great memories! Location is still beautifu! read more
I so wanted to like this place, the setting is amazing and with the history. The inside looks like a German hunting lodge but it was vacant and I would soon find out why. When I stepped to the bar to order my beer (admittedly they do have a reasonable German beer selection) I almost tripped because I stuck to the floor. It was ridiculously sticky I ordered the flammkuchen, schnitzel, spaetzle and German Chocolate cake. The flammkucken was alright. It did have good flavor but was mid. The schnitzel was dry and overcooked. I should have ordered the currywurst instead. The spaetzle can be described in one word, sad. The best part of the meal was the one part that isn't actually of German heritage the German Chocolate cake. It was moist, not ridiculously sweet and good flavor. I would probably return just for a piece of cake. For $88 not worth it. Unless you're REALLY craving German pass the food overall is mid at best. read more

Since my visit to Zaanse Schans a couple summer ago, going up into Bevo Mill has been on my list, and I finally got to it this past week. If you've never done it, add it to your bucket list--there's just something about being inside a windmill that makes the experience special. The building itself is stunning, with beautiful architecture and a cozy atmosphere, especially in the winter when they always have the fire going. The food is about as German as it gets. We had the pretzels with cheese, the cheese curds, and I had the mushroom spaetzle, which was fantastic. Super hearty and comforting. Definitely a spot worth visiting. read more

Das Brunch - We went during the winter so the outside area was not open. Went with a group of 6 for brunch and walked in to seated ourselves. You have to order at the bar which took some time but the food was great (not surprising or overly escalated from the description but quality food for what was ordered). And everyone was picking at the fries too. Variety of seating of low tops and high tops which was nice. Bottomless mimosas is cheap for what you get (skinny glasses tho so you'll need to flag down people or go up to the bar for refills). Fun place to get together with friends for a casual drink and food hangout! read more

Beautiful venue in south city with friendly staff. It seems that they've moved more into private events, with limited menus on weeknights. The night I went, their special was a roast chicken dinner with potatoes and green beans for $12. For the price, I can't complain. It would be worth visiting if there was a special event in the area, but not necessarily worth making a special trip. It was a super rainy night when I visited, so I didn't get to check out their outdoor area, but they do appear to have a nice setup out there which could be fun if the weather cooperated. read more
Das Bevo offers so much more than it seems. You can find many events held here like concerts, pop up markets & delicious brunches on Sundays! I've ate here on Sundays for brunch & the service has been spectacular! In the heart of Bevo Mill, stop by & see this wonderful building. read more

Honestly..... don't know how I feel about this place anymore. I used to come when they had servers, real menu, kick ass brunch! Now is just OKAY. We went on a Sunday especially bc of a Bloody Mary bar flyer. Little did we know there was no bloody marry bar and the options for the it was just two olives and a piece of salami and the bloody marry was premade! They did have bottomless mimosas and they do go around refilling your glass. You seat yourself, you have to go to the bar and order your drinks and food every time. Drinks and food are very limited! Not sure that I'll be back any time soon. read more

Came for brunch and plenty of room for small or big parties. There is a smaller menu and most of my group got the breakfast sandwich. The cheesy potatoes are amazing! The sandwich was flavorful but the egg is a bit too thick. Most of us cut the egg slice in half for better portions. read more
Das Bevo is a unique and iconic spot in St. Louis with its giant windmill in front. The interior is very cute and I'd imagine great for a variety of events. I also really appreciated the large parking lot available right outside rather than having to find street parking. I ordered the pretzels with cheese dip and we sat outside on the patio while listening to the live music. The pretzels were delicious! read more

I love German restaurants and German food. This place Ce had an awesome live band that could even play " the grateful dead well" unfortunately there German cuisine albeit good not a lot of selections idve liked to see some Spetzle noodles and maybe some Hasenpfefer read more

We LOVE LOVE LOVE Das Bevo for their Sunday Brunch, their Wed schnitzel dinner, and annual Oktoberfest. We live in the neighborhood and often walk here. the Outdoor Beirgarten is exactly what it needs to be and our kids like to play on the old fire truck. The staff are super friendly and kind to our elementary age kids. The ambiance is cozy and has character and you can meander through restored parts of the Mill house. The food is good and reasonably priced. We love the $8 cinnamon roll please dont change it. Thanks for bringing this iconic spot up to the status it deserves. We hope it stays open for years to come and really look forward to Das Bevo's positive impact on the neighborhood. read more
We finally made it out to Das Bevo and we're not disappointed! It's even cuter in person than the pictures show. I had the quiche of the day which was onions, green peppers, and tomatoes. It was amazing! It came with a side salad that was so fresh and tasty. Then I tried a cinnamon roll. It's the absolute best one I've ever had! My friend had the breakfast sandwich with avocado and the cheddar potatoes and said they were both wonderful. The service was great and everyone was friendly. They had a band playing and they were perfect for brunch without being overwhelming or loud. I can't wait to go back when it's warmer and enjoy the patio. This will definitely become a regular hangout for brunch. read more
Updated review: -2 stars. 12/10/22 We were there for a holiday happy hour. Everything was going fine. But a then young busser came to clear our table and then the owner scolded him while he was still at our table. The owner was very disrespectful to the young man. You shouldn't talk to your employees like that especially in front of customers. He was doing a fine job. And when the busser was confused on what he was doing wrong (we were too) The owner continued to scold him saying "don't look at me like that" It made my table uncomfortable to witness this microaggression. When asked if he was OK, the busser said he was used to it. I'm going to have to really consider if I want to come back to this establishment if that's how their employees are treated. Original: There's always something fun going on at Das Bevo! Most recently, it was the starting point of the 1st Annual Bevo Zombie Walk. I had the witches brew cocktail and parmesan fries! Both delicious. Their Sunday brunches are also great! I recommend the breakfast potatoes. And there's always live music during brunch as well as Friday and Saturday night. Thursday Beer Choir nights are so much fun! They also host trivia nights, stand up comedy, pop up markets and more! Tons of parking. Beautiful building. Rich history. Great neighborhood currently going through some revitalization. read more

I recently had a chance to visit Das Bevo for a "Breakfast at Tiffany's" movie showing and a themed movie menu of breakfast for dinner. I am glad they offered this because I probably would have never had a chance to try their food! The special menu has chicken and waffles on it so I had to try it! The liege waffles were crispy and sweet, and the fried chicken wings were fried to perfection. I also had a Tiffany cocktail in the beautiful blue shade and it was delicious too. The service was friendly and I enjoyed watching Audrey Hepburn while enjoying my meal! read more

This place is old and quiet .The food is salty but good (Germany cuisine) and they have different kinds of drinks including liquor and beer wine etc. read more
Amazing atmosphere with an inviting patio serving cold beer, warm pretzels, and German-style pub fare. Das Bevo has been restored its historic glory! The atmosphere is what sets this place apart and reason alone to check it out.They have bands on the patio regularly, custom fire pits, and an old school fire truck for photo ops. Inside it's a European beer hall, with mahogany wood bar, and event space downstairs. History note: The Anheuser-Busch family commissioned the mosaic tiles in the far end dining room from the 1904 World's Fair. Beers are $6-7 and food is $13-20. Not cheap, but you are really paying for the atmosphere. I tried the German board - two sausages, kraut, spicy mustard, warm pretzel, and cheese sauce. The best "value" if your hungry and it filled me up. I wouldn't go for the food alone but overall no complaints. Great spot for a group. For a unique experience, Das Bevo is a destination for friends, beers, and good times. read more

Only brunch on Sunday. We went on Saturday and could only order lunch off the menu.
