    Cozy fireside seating

The $10 Wednesday special was delicious and quite plentiful as always. There was a bit of a wait this evening. I don't mind sharing a communal table and enjoy meeting new people. The restaurant was completely packed and only 2 servers. Raven and her coworker were really hustling to take care of patrons. Previously, you ordered and paid at the bar and food was brought to you. Actual table service is nice, but more help is needed to be successful. Would also recommend making it clear upfront that you can not pay with cash; debit or credit only.

We were really hyped up to come out to what seemed to be an authentic Biergarten! The music was sometimes German sometimes not. It was also good and loud. The music on the speakers (separate from the live) was a very odd choice for a German themed location. The inside wasn't as clean as I would've hoped. But the staff was great to us, and the other people there were friendly. The beer was good, there's really only one German beer (a few kinds, one brand) I think, and the food was satisfying but didn't blow my mind or anything. Won't be returning but I wish them all the best

Went to the Mary Poppins Singalong event and had dinner also. Their feta cheese dip was wonderful with the deep fried pita chips. My friend ordered the schnitzel, as big as the plate, along with mashed potatoes. I ordered the saurbraten good flavor but I like mine a little more vinegary. The red cabbage was very good but just a little overpowering with the clove, but still tasty. The apple strudel with vanilla ice cream and the carrot cake was very satisfying!! Looking forward to going back again for another event.

My hubby and I were in the Rathskeller of Das Bevo to watch a friend's band. The decor and seating were awesome. There is also a bar down there that serves great drinks. We were able to order food to be brought to our table which was delicious. All of the staff was very friendly. I told my sister we need to go and eat upstairs because it looks amazing and we can try more delicious German food!

There's usually live music events going on inside or outside of Das Bevo. The inside is huge and feels like you are hanging inside a castle. I went to the Speakeasy Friday to see Miss Jubilee. Tickets were $10, which you could buy online or at the door, and it was located in the cool, dimly lit basement. 90% of the tables were filled up in this venue. They did a good job with the décor to make it feel like the roaring 20's. They had a limited menu for food and drinks. The music was lovely, but hard to hear at times because people were trying to talk above it. Miss Jubilee was not spotlighted and sang in the shadows. Mushroom Spaetzle $18 - Generous portion, a bit salty. Das Great Gatsby Board $25 - Bratwurst, spicy sausage, sauerkraut, mashed potatoes, and a pretzel with a side of mustard and cheese sauce. Easy parking in the lot. .|\---/| | @_@ | ..\_^_/..2025

Character, alcohol, German food and amazing decor! What else do you need? A huge cozy fireplace? Check! A biergarten for warm weather and music? Check! Das Bevo has all of this and much more! What do I love about Das Bevo? It is perfect any time of the year. They have delicious food, like the loaded wurst and many beer, cocktail and wine options. The main room has plenty of seating options with tables, tall tables, a large couch (by the fireplace). This is also a great place for a large group or for an event space. Das Bevo often has fun activities like beer choir, bands, sing a longs, holiday cocktail happy hour, petting zoo, markets just to name a few. They also have brunch. Das Bevo is such a unique St. Louis landmark that needs to be one of your "go to" places!

I have been to the iconic Das Bevo several times for Maifest, Oktoberfest, Sunday brunch, Gin World and a trivia night. It is rich in history and a beautiful spot to visit. During the Fests, they have a lot of seating outdoors and available indoors as well. They have permanent bathrooms indoors and outdoors as well. They have a large parking lot and there is street parking nearby. The food is better than average. I really like their fish and chips plate. It's flavorful and served hot. The fries are crisp.

    Schnitzel and German Chocolate Cake

We went for $10 Supper Wednesday and this week it was Shnitzel! I hadn't been to Bevo Mill since I was a kid and while it's a lottle different now with ordering at the bar and sitting at community tables, the building is still just so unique and makes it feel like a special night out. The schnitzel was pretty good, not like FANTASTIC but for $10 it it a huge piece and comes with mashed potatoes. They have lots of German beer options on tap and delicious desserts (we tried the German Chocolate cake). If you enjoy sharing a table with folks then you have yo check this out on a Wednesday night!!

The atmosphere is fun, the windmill is cool! I love the outside seating despite it being right on the road. There was live music and it wasn't too crowded. The drinks were decent and we got the German charcuterie type board with mashed potatoes bratwurst and more. Would come back to this place again!

Formally Bevo Mill this restaurant is a great night out. Every Wednesday they have ten dollar suppers. We went on schnitzel night. Biggest schnitz I've ever seen. The regulars warned us that meatloaf night gets busy too. They have urban chestnut and four hands beer on tap. You order at the bar they give you a number and you go find a seat. Family style seating in what feels like a medieval tavern. Good food, good drink, and great ambiance. Wednesdays is an older crowd because with wisdom comes knowledge of the best deals for a night out and Wednesday at Bevo fits the bill.

My husband and I have both been to The Bevo Mill for different occasions in the past, however, this was the first time dining as Das Bevo. We absolutely loved it. The menu is so unique with German offerings. The building is so rich in history. With both of having German heritage it just feels good dining here. I ordered the fish and fries being a Friday in Lent. It was good, however, I wish I would have ordered a German dish. The creamy coleslaw was probably the best I've had. My husband ordered the Sauerbraten which is pot roast. It was served with spaetzle, red cabbage and veggie of the day which was green beans. He absolutely loved his meal. You order at the bar and server brings food to your table. They let us wander around the premises while we were waiting for our food. Climbed the stairs to the top (never been up there) and saw all the rooms that must have been private living quarters in the day. Looked out the windows where the mill was spinning by. Went to the basement where there is a bar and large room for entertaining. The outside patio looks amazing. We will be back. We go to the Arkadian for movies down the street and this is a perfect place to get dinner before the movie. We are in love with this place!

Das Bevo is such a fun venue. Driving down to their location off of Gravois, is such an epic experience. Upon approach, you are greeted by the iconic windmill in motion. My friends and I attended the buy one get one 'Martini Madness' event and had a splendid time. It's a spacious, open concept room when you walk in. Reminiscent of a German Bier Hall, there is plenty of seating, tables and standing room. Cozy couches placed near a roaring fire was a lovely setting for the chilly evening. Families with kids or a couples night out, all are welcome here. The cheap deal on drinks was great but they were tasty too! I tried the espresso martini, which is always a classic and my personal favorite. I also tried the red delicious apple martini which was on the sweeter side but a nice treat to finish out the girl's night. We shared some appetizers; the cheddar biscuits, Brussels sprouts, pretzel and sausage platter with sauerkraut and mustard and the fries with beer cheese. Everything tasted great but the Brussels sprouts were the star of the show with a honey and balsamic glaze which were slightly crispy. The last event I attended here was an adult Easter egg hunt! I highly recommend this place especially in the summer to enjoy their patio during live music events. Another fantastic and vibey place in Stl.

Das Bevo is such an interesting place with multiple floors to explore. The main entry floor has a very lovely set up and this Friday had a table side magician! Pretty casual establishment overall where you order food from the bar. The lower level, where I sat, is even more relaxed and had a live band playing. Really great way to enjoy dinner! The food is good, unsurprisingly the pretzels were divine. I will definitely come back in the future. Looks like they have a good size patio I'd love to check out in the warmer months.

Absolutely! Corkage fee is $15 Prost!

Only brunch on Sunday. We went on Saturday and could only order lunch off the menu.

Has anyone made a reservation for brunch?

Welcome to your new favorite neighborhood bbq joint…read more Stellar Hog has been a meat up spot for my friends and me for several years. Especially during the spring and summer when we can take full advantage of the patio. There's live music a few nights a week. I recommend going early. They occasionally run out of the daily specials and more popular items. Step inside the bar area to place your order for food and drinks. They carry a nice selection of local and craft beer. There is a full bar for any of your cocktails and spirit drinks. They offer all of the traditional bbq meats: brisket, ribs, smoked turkey. My favorite is the smoked salami. I still haven't figured out what's in there but dang it's good! The meats can be served as a meal with a 1/2 of your choice of meat and two sides. The sides are absolutely stellar . Mac and cheese, pit beans, slaw, potato salad etc. My go to is the Brussels sprouts and the hand cut fries. They offer traditional sandwiches that include one side. Feeling like something out of this world? Try one of the Stellar Sandwiches. Can't decide from the long list of options? Have the team give you a recommendation. Don't forget to ask about the daily specials. The pork steak is enough for two people and thick fall off the bone tender. Grab a number when you order and find a table. The food comes out pretty quick. The final addition is one or all of their house made sauces. Spicy Lou is my go to followed by the white sauce. I've never been disappointed with a meal here. The kind of place where they welcome you and are truly appreciative of your patronage. The Stellar Hog is one of those places. Located in an older neighborhood all by itself, we were greeted by the owner who took us to our table. The first thing you notice is the smell. It's a wonderful BBQing meat smell that makes you can't wait to eat. The place is bigger on the inside than it looks and very clean. There's an outdoor eating area as well. We ordered at the bar, both my friend and I ordering the OG Brisket Sandwiches, mine with Coleslaw and my friend's with fries. No sooner did we sit down did our food come, and WOW, the sandwiches were huge with a pile of perfectly cooked melt in your mouth Brisket. I'm hard pressed to remember any better. The coleslaw was, well, different and hard to explain, but had a tangy mustard kind of taste. The fries on my buddy's plate were fantastic as well. The owner checked on us several times, and obviously valued us as customers. BBQ is huge in St. Louis and the big places and chains get all the attention. But if you want some seriously good BBQ in an authentic down home place, head to The Stellar Hog. Let me know by liking my review.

St. Louis is lousy with these microbreweries--this part of town in particular, to the point where,…read moreas I ran the streets of the surrounding area, I was violently assaulted with what must be the smell of beer as it's being brewed. It's not altogether different from the smell of beer as it's coming back up, and it called to mind my illustrious, mostly-forgotten-at-this-point college years. I was suddenly compelled to listen to Cannibal Ox and watch certain videos that I'd pilfered from Kazaa, and it's probably for the best that I didn't have access to a circa 1998 Compaq Presario in that moment. The vibe in Bluewood Brewing is a lot classier. There's no "Iron Galaxy" over the PA. The lights are dimmed, which I imagine would be convenient if there was someone there you owed money to. I was particularly impressed with a long table on the patio. I remarked to a member of my running group that it almost certainly didn't come from IKEA. The wood was of too high a quality. The food menu is limited to a small selection of standard sports-bar fare, but this is not anywhere you'd go to watch the game. They might not have any TVs. Did they spend too much on the table? Also, they don't sell any beer in cans, that I'm aware of, which I generally prefer as someone who, as the evening progresses, is prone to dropping things. I went with something called Crush, which is an orange-flavored high-gravity IPA. It was the highest ABV selection on their regular beer menu, but it also costs a little bit more, so you're not really getting over on them--unless you thought to "pregame." I found it to be both less "stiff" than I was expecting and less orange-tasting, in a good way but also in a bad way, in that anything that fails to conform to expectation is at least somewhat disappointing. I was expecting paint thinner and orange juice. I got something that was balanced and flavorful. From the food menu, I got the daily special, which was a sort of elevated patty melt called the Stable Melt. It came with two all-beef patties, Swiss, caramelized onions and "Frisco" sauce on Union Loafers marbled rye, with your choice of chips or fries. It was $18, and as I was standing there a guy came out and changed the price to $19, presumably due to developments in the war with Iran. I was assured that I'd be "grandfathered in" at $18, but I'm not sure if he told the guy at the register and I didn't bother to check. It wasn't necessarily my kind of thing, but it was a great burger. The name-brand bread alone nearly justified the price increase. The meat was generously proportioned (no Diddy), but it didn't quite extend to the edges of the bread. Perhaps if it were one larger patty? The onions gave it a sophisticated Salisbury steak vibe, wholly superior to Hungry Man. The fries called to mind the fries at Wendy's. If only they offered a Frosty to dip them in. It wouldn't necessarily go with their beer. I'd suggest they put bourbon or something in it, but I shudder to think what they might charge.
