Feta cheese dip w fried pita chips
    Gail A.

Went to the Mary Poppins Singalong event and had dinner also. Their feta cheese dip was wonderful with the deep fried pita chips. My friend ordered the schnitzel, as big as the plate, along with mashed potatoes. I ordered the saurbraten good flavor but I like mine a little more vinegary. The red cabbage was very good but just a little overpowering with the clove, but still tasty. The apple strudel with vanilla ice cream and the carrot cake was very satisfying!! Looking forward to going back again for another event.

There's usually live music events going on inside or outside of Das Bevo. The inside is huge and feels like you are hanging inside a castle. I went to the Speakeasy Friday to see Miss Jubilee. Tickets were $10, which you could buy online or at the door, and it was located in the cool, dimly lit basement. 90% of the tables were filled up in this venue. They did a good job with the décor to make it feel like the roaring 20's. They had a limited menu for food and drinks. The music was lovely, but hard to hear at times because people were trying to talk above it. Miss Jubilee was not spotlighted and sang in the shadows. Mushroom Spaetzle $18 - Generous portion, a bit salty. Das Great Gatsby Board $25 - Bratwurst, spicy sausage, sauerkraut, mashed potatoes, and a pretzel with a side of mustard and cheese sauce. Easy parking in the lot. .|\---/| | @_@ | ..\_^_/..2025

I have been to the iconic Das Bevo several times for Maifest, Oktoberfest, Sunday brunch, Gin World and a trivia night. It is rich in history and a beautiful spot to visit. During the Fests, they have a lot of seating outdoors and available indoors as well. They have permanent bathrooms indoors and outdoors as well. They have a large parking lot and there is street parking nearby. The food is better than average. I really like their fish and chips plate. It's flavorful and served hot. The fries are crisp.

We went for $10 Supper Wednesday and this week it was Shnitzel! I hadn't been to Bevo Mill since I was a kid and while it's a lottle different now with ordering at the bar and sitting at community tables, the building is still just so unique and makes it feel like a special night out. The schnitzel was pretty good, not like FANTASTIC but for $10 it it a huge piece and comes with mashed potatoes. They have lots of German beer options on tap and delicious desserts (we tried the German Chocolate cake). If you enjoy sharing a table with folks then you have yo check this out on a Wednesday night!!

The atmosphere is fun, the windmill is cool! I love the outside seating despite it being right on the road. There was live music and it wasn't too crowded. The drinks were decent and we got the German charcuterie type board with mashed potatoes bratwurst and more. Would come back to this place again!

My husband and I have both been to The Bevo Mill for different occasions in the past, however, this was the first time dining as Das Bevo. We absolutely loved it. The menu is so unique with German offerings. The building is so rich in history. With both of having German heritage it just feels good dining here. I ordered the fish and fries being a Friday in Lent. It was good, however, I wish I would have ordered a German dish. The creamy coleslaw was probably the best I've had. My husband ordered the Sauerbraten which is pot roast. It was served with spaetzle, red cabbage and veggie of the day which was green beans. He absolutely loved his meal. You order at the bar and server brings food to your table. They let us wander around the premises while we were waiting for our food. Climbed the stairs to the top (never been up there) and saw all the rooms that must have been private living quarters in the day. Looked out the windows where the mill was spinning by. Went to the basement where there is a bar and large room for entertaining. The outside patio looks amazing. We will be back. We go to the Arkadian for movies down the street and this is a perfect place to get dinner before the movie. We are in love with this place!

Formally Bevo Mill this restaurant is a great night out. Every Wednesday they have ten dollar suppers. We went on schnitzel night. Biggest schnitz I've ever seen. The regulars warned us that meatloaf night gets busy too. They have urban chestnut and four hands beer on tap. You order at the bar they give you a number and you go find a seat. Family style seating in what feels like a medieval tavern. Good food, good drink, and great ambiance. Wednesdays is an older crowd because with wisdom comes knowledge of the best deals for a night out and Wednesday at Bevo fits the bill.

Das Bevo is such a fun venue. Driving down to their location off of Gravois, is such an epic experience. Upon approach, you are greeted by the iconic windmill in motion. My friends and I attended the buy one get one 'Martini Madness' event and had a splendid time. It's a spacious, open concept room when you walk in. Reminiscent of a German Bier Hall, there is plenty of seating, tables and standing room. Cozy couches placed near a roaring fire was a lovely setting for the chilly evening. Families with kids or a couples night out, all are welcome here. The cheap deal on drinks was great but they were tasty too! I tried the espresso martini, which is always a classic and my personal favorite. I also tried the red delicious apple martini which was on the sweeter side but a nice treat to finish out the girl's night. We shared some appetizers; the cheddar biscuits, Brussels sprouts, pretzel and sausage platter with sauerkraut and mustard and the fries with beer cheese. Everything tasted great but the Brussels sprouts were the star of the show with a honey and balsamic glaze which were slightly crispy. The last event I attended here was an adult Easter egg hunt! I highly recommend this place especially in the summer to enjoy their patio during live music events. Another fantastic and vibey place in Stl.

Das Bevo is such an interesting place with multiple floors to explore. The main entry floor has a very lovely set up and this Friday had a table side magician! Pretty casual establishment overall where you order food from the bar. The lower level, where I sat, is even more relaxed and had a live band playing. Really great way to enjoy dinner! The food is good, unsurprisingly the pretzels were divine. I will definitely come back in the future. Looks like they have a good size patio I'd love to check out in the warmer months.

Since my visit to Zaanse Schans a couple summer ago, going up into Bevo Mill has been on my list, and I finally got to it this past week. If you've never done it, add it to your bucket list--there's just something about being inside a windmill that makes the experience special. The building itself is stunning, with beautiful architecture and a cozy atmosphere, especially in the winter when they always have the fire going. The food is about as German as it gets. We had the pretzels with cheese, the cheese curds, and I had the mushroom spaetzle, which was fantastic. Super hearty and comforting. Definitely a spot worth visiting.

Fish and chips Friday was fun! The fish was good. The fries were great. And you can never go wrong with cheese curds! Am I right! They were the star of the show! There is alot of history in the building which makes eating here fun!! Beautiful decor and a fun patio for warmer months!!

He also said he would have the space set up (tables and chairs arranged) the night before my event, but when I arrived that day he was still in the process of setting up. Overall the experience we had with hosting our wedding reception at the Upstairs was quite good…read more I had been to a fantastic Yelp event at the Cheshire, where we got to tour and taste our way through all of the fantastic spots on the Cheshire property. I already knew the Upstairs was a gorgeous space with warm textured wooded walls and beautiful imported lighting fixtures. When we began the process of planning for our wedding reception, we were already staying at the Cheshire (taking a Brit to the British hotel when he's in town visiting is the way to make him feel at home, right?), already, so we decided to see if we could see the space as a possibility for our celebration. We had a few other ideas of locations, but we loved the Cheshire. It felt so right to us. The room is split into two distinct spaces. I requested that all of the guest tables (we had 60 guests) remain on the side of the room with the wood paneling, light fixtures and windows. The dance floor and DJ were set-up on the other side. The space would absolutely accommodate more guests, but it didn't seem ridiculous to have so few. They let us use their mirrored chargers and votives for the tables, and we brought in vases of flowers with our own table numbers on them. Originally, we were set to have our happy hour in the fireplace room, which is still on the second floor, but outside of the ballroom. When Lucy abruptly left, she was replaced by Karina, who very kindle advised us that the Red Room downstairs was not being used on the night of our event, so we had our cocktail hour and hors dourves downstairs. It was perfect because this meant we could easily stand near the door to greet the guests as they arrived, and then when it was time to go upstairs, it was a whole new venue. This allowed us to have our evening bar, place card table, gift table and even a selfie photo booth in the fireplace room. It was perfect. We set-up our cake on a table on the dance floor, which if I had to do it again, would have in the fireplace room or closer to the entry somehow, as many of our guests reportedly never say the cake prior to us going to cut it... and it was a gorgeous cake and deserved to be seen. I didn't enjoy the experience of working with Lucy, as I felt like she wasn't very friendly and didn't make us feel important at all. Working with Karina was much nicer. Because we live in London, and were finalising details from home, she went out of her way to set-up a Skype call to introduce herself and go over things. I have very few complaints about our event, but I had been told that the tables would be set the morning of the event or the day prior. To me, "set" meant that there would be linens, plates, glasses, and silverware on the tables. Chris and I picked up our cake and delivered it to the ballroom ourselves at 1:30pm. Nothing was set at all. The tables were in the room, but there weren't linens or anything else. I have to admit that I started to panic a teensy bit. We were told that we could come in at 3:00pm to set the centerpieces and our other pieces. We all had planned to do this and then go get ready at the hotel. Apparently the wrong colour linens had been delivered and were moments from arrival. I was assured that by 3:00pm, this would be rectified. We arrived to set everything up, and still nothing had been done. They said that no one would be there until 4:00pm to set-up. They asked what I wanted to happen, and I said that I needed the tablecloths to be on the table so we could get the center pieces arranged. They did that, and we set-up the cake table, selfie booth and the place card table in the meantime. They offered to let us leave the flowers and things for them to arrange, but of course I wanted us to do it. The second thing that bothered me was regarding the cake. When it was taken away and cut, they brought out random slices and strew them over the tables. I had anticipated that they would put them out so people could take a piece if they wished. This meant a lot of cake was wasted with people not eating it, or not being able to choose what was given to them. We had been looking forward to the strawberry cake for months. We were so busy that we left our plates on the table to join our friends. We had every intention of coming back to them. Our plates were cleared after I'd had two bites and Chris hadn't had even a taste. They also took the Champagne he'd been saving. In my opinion, we should have been asked if it was okay to do this. We did get the leftover cake sent home with us, but there wasn't any strawberry. I'm still sad about this weeks later. My third and final complaint is that all of the place cards were taken and disposed of. I had every intention of keeping ours for a scrapbook. At the end of the day, I would highly recommend this venue. Our guests were pleased with the staff, everyone was blown away by the food, the venue was beautiful and unique and it was an overall good experience.

It colored the whole rest of the night, and not in a positive way. During the night, he just looked so upset to be there. At the end of the night, he chimed in to warn drivers away from a certain neighborhood in the area, claiming it was the "Ferguson of South County", a pretty clearly racist statement. I ordered the Hatch'd By You which consisted of two eggs, meat, hash browns and and English muffin. I thought everything was great. The eggs were spot on and the hash browns were super crispy - exactly how I like them! Hatch'd is a true example of how a restaurant should be run. The owner, Josh, worked alongside his staff, and also stopped by at every table to introduce himself and check on their dining experience. Our waiter was also incredibly polite and suggested some great, personalized customization to our dishes. The place has a very welcoming atmosphere.

We thought we had to wait for a long time, but it actually went quick (like 5 minutes) when we got there. We did not realize this place had an upstairs, until our waiter guided us. This place looks very large on the inside compared to what it looks like on the outside. The restaurant also had an rustic atmosphere. With exposed pipes, rusted decor, and 80's memorabilia on the shelf. We ordered coffee here, and one of them came in a Christmas cup. Even though it was six months away. My wife chuckled on how they served her coffee in a Christmas cup. Mine came in a plain white cup. But I still excessively chuckled on how funny the menu is and the staff are. The staff are very attentive to how your food tastes and make plenty of funny jokes with you. They also are very descriptive on what the specials on pancakes and omelettes are. As well as being very honest. I ordered the Benny's Got Beef Or Belly with Brisket. I know, long name. I watched the weather while my food was being prepared, and occasionally looking at the PBS TV nearby. My wife was drawing with my 11 year old daughter (and writing "secret messages") as their food was being prepped and prepared. When my food finally came out, I immediately took a bite. The brisket was very juicy and tender. And the eggs were delicious on the side. I tried this place several years ago. Was still the same good taste that I remember when I took my wife to this place. Very amazing place. Will come again.
