Another company float trip and another wonderful stay in this motel. No rooms are cleaner. It's a great place to stay.

Please avoid this place like your life depends on it, I'm begging you. Stopped here for the night…read moredue to car issues and bad fog on my way home to Ohio. I honestly wish I had just slept in my car at the gas station down the street. Where do I start? First of all, the counter guy wouldn't let my boyfriend pay for my room over the phone. I'm running low on funds due to multiple car issues so he was trying to do me a solid. Nope. So I asked could he book it online. The guy says yes but then he'll have to email him a picture of his credit card and ID with a note about me staying there. Ummm, no. So, my daughter used PayPal to send me enough for the room. I pay for it and get the keycard. This is where the real horror starts. I enter the musty room to the TV on. That's a little disconcerting to say the least. First thing I did was look in the bathroom to make sure I was alone. My boyfriend (on the phone) said to look under the bed. I tried. It's sitting on some sort of wood frame which kinda creeps me out. Hopefully there's not a secret compartment with some creep hiding underneath. It's probably there so they don't have to clean the crack pipes and needles up from under the bed though really, I'm guessing from the looks of this room. It's the most disgusting room I've ever seen in my life. I'm literally afraid to lay down on this bed so I've been just sitting here exhausted for hours. I don't even know where to begin. I guess I'll start with the smell. It smells like decades of chain smoking, hard drugs, alcohol, and sex for hire in a prison cell. I could be much more descriptive but I'd prefer not to get flagged so use your imagination. Now on the the physical appearance of this h e double hockey sticks hole. There's holes in the drywall and multiple gouge marks in the hideous dark blue "accent wall". The decor is 1970's at best. The entertainment center/microwave holder/dresser is falling apart. There are countless cigarette burns on the tub and sink, as well as just general grime. There is no bath towel (not that I'm planning on taking my clothes off, trust me), just a hand towel, washcloth and bath mat. The bath mat is laid over the grungy tub with the toiletries on top of it. So gross. Think that's bad? It gets worse. The chair in this room is not just threadbare, it is covered in multiple suspect stains. You couldn't pay me to sit in it. But wait, there's more because I saved the best for last. The piece of fabric covering the rock hard bed (I can't call it a bedspread, as I'm pretty sure it's a curtain of some sort) is covered in jizz. Yes, you read that right, this place has so much DNA in it that ancestry dot com could find everyone's missing links within just a few short weeks of gathering samples from this Bates Motel. Pray for me y'all. I'm glad I had my own pillow and blanket. I pray you never have to stay in Sullivan, MO but if you do, for the love of all that's holy, Don't stay here. Minus One Million Stars.

We also had random phone calls in middle of the night where no-one would answer, followed by knocking & people screaming next door. Couldn't wait to get out!

The inside was beautifully done. This is a great option for some slightly more upscale food in a semi-casual atmosphere. We sat at the bar for probably close to 10 minutes before receiving any service, we were dangerously close to leaving when the bartender "came back from break". He did apologize, and did a decent job waiting on us after that--albeit a little slow. There was another worker (Nicole?) clearly carrying the team, who was waiting on all of the bar area tables and perhaps others in the restaurant as well--she was delightful when she ran our food out for the bartender. I was excited to see their extensive beer selection. I opted for a boulevard wheat (one of my absolute favorites!). We ordered a couple of appetizers to hold us over until the wedding dinner we were about to attend. The flatbread of the week was a white sauce base with sausage, prosciutto, and bacon. When it first came out, it looked underwhelming, but it was amazing! The crust on the bottom was beautifully browned, and the combination of flavors was perfect. We also ordered the spinach artichoke dip, which was just average I'd say--very heavy on the cream cheese, not a ton of gooey cheese. All-in-all I would likely try it again.
