The baked potato was the best thing I had which shouldn't be the case, especially considering I didn't get it with any meat. I got the pulled pork sandwich, ribs, mac and cheese and a baked potato. The pulled pork sandwich is my go to and it wasn't high on the list of my bbq places. I love mac and cheese and wouldnt consider myself super picky but it wasn't all that great either. I think I may have ate one rib so I wasnt all that impressed with them either. As stated, the baked potato was good. I didn't try any of the chocolates cause I am not a fan of just chocolate balls so I can't comment on that. Unfortunately, I doubt I go back.

It was raining the first time we came, so getting from the dirt parking lot to the front door turned into a fun little game of dodging puddles. The second you walk in, you're greeted by some of the sweetest staff. The cozy country atmosphere is full of fun, quirky décor that gives you something new to notice while you're waiting for your food. Speaking of the food...everything we tried was so good that we ended up bringing more family back for a second visit. The baked taters are HUGE and definitely filling. The green beans have the perfect sweet-and-savory flavor, and apparently the mac and cheese is a winner too because my son finishes it every single time before I can even sneak a bite! They also have plenty of seating, so even with a group, there's room to spread out. If you're looking for good comfort food with friendly service and a laid-back country feel, this place is definitely worth checking out.

While I was waiting I noticed the Friday special of catfish. After recently getting a catfish basket from an area seafood place that left me very disappointed, I ended up ordering two catfish baskets. (Me and mom) I have been trying to find good catfish. I will definitely be back for the catfish, it was so good. Nice full pieces not small and insanely flat as the other place. The batter had a really tasty flavor and with their tartar sauce . Green beans as a side order - yum. For dinner ate half the potato with beef (which I ordered to put beef on the side. Also very generous amount of beef). Took a tiny bite of a rib, saving those for tomorrow with rest of potato. Flavor was better than any ribs I've had in a while. Worth driving past and making a u turn back.

And then it just so happened that we had something to do in the area coming up, so it was a really easy decision to plan our lunch destination that day. We were tempted to order two chicken fried steaks, since that was apparently the main event here, but just to try something different, I ordered a burger and she ordered the large CFS so there'd be plenty for me to try. But we started off with the mixed basket of fried treats and it hit the spot pretty well. A solid 4-stars here. The chicken fried steak gets 10-stars for its size (photo attached with a cell phone next to it for scale. 4-stars for the quality. Enjoyable, but not, "I absolutely have to go back" level. The double bacon cheeseburger was... fine. My wife commented that it looked like two frozen patties and that seemed pretty accurate. 3-stars. With my burger, I subbed in mac-n-cheese instead of fries. I have to say, this might be the worst mac I've ever had. The first bite I took was lukewarm, at best. But it basically tasted like a flavorless, soggy noodle. I took about 3 bites and just set it aside. 1-star. We finished with some banana pudding and it was an enjoyable finish. With real bananas, even. 4-stars. As I said at the top, I'm probably rounding up for this 4-stars, but we were glad to support a modest, family owned business.
