Dog friendly. Day of departure.

This place has changed owners since we last stayed. Lots of upgrades for sure. Still awesome though. Robert at the front desk was awesome and super friendly. Place is clean, but it is camping so to speak so I'm not expecting the place to be spotless however it was pretty close. We kicked out keys under the couch and we were like oh boy, what will we see there. To our surprise, it was clean. hahahahaha. We had the microwave and their space heater running and it triggered to power to go out. we were able to figure it out. The chalet's heater is a bit loud so we used their space heater which was super powerful. We will be back.

We got married here and it was a beautiful venue. I would absolutely recommend to get married here. It is the woods so be prepared for bugs we also had some bugs crawl into our cabin. The refrigerators do not work well and ice chests may be needed.

Dog turd

This is our fourth time coming here and we were disappointed with the overall experience. We arrived in the cabin and we noticed a dog turd waiting for us. It looked like it was there for sometime. Makes you wonder if the cabin was even cleaned. The wifi worked great last year. This year it didn't work at all. We have at&t so we had no way of calling out. We heard that they recently got new owners so maybe they fired the good staff idk. Also the cabin we were in had Zero coat hangers. Hello were do we put our jackets at? Family of five had to put them on a chair. Overall really weird setup. This will most likely be our last stay here. I hope the owners correct the above and maybe we will come back next year. Update: since the owner responded but didn't provide a way to respond. We stayed in cabin N on 11/13. I'm sure you could look it up now. Also if the place was cleaned then how was there a dog poop upstairs? Thanks for looking into this.

With all of the restrictions and travel precautions taken place this year, I was in need of a place to relax and refresh. I came across Pinecrest Chalet that has individual cabins, chalets and townhomes. An added bonus was that it was pet friendly. I decided to book a chalet for our family and our family dog. Nestled amongst lovely large trees with the sound of a creek running nearby. This was a nice quiet place to reboot. We went in the winter time, it was chilly but no snowfall yet. The cabin was kept warm by a lovely fireplace that was controlled by a thermostat. We had a small full kitchen. This location is perfect for skiing or boarding at nearby DodgeRidge Ski resort which is about 2-3miles up the hill. We can't wait to return when there is more snow fall or even in the Summer to enjoy the nearby Pinecrest Lake.

I did not stay here but am reviewing based on the hospitality of the staff. Being up this way (In the mountains) cuts you off from the cellular grid depending on your carrier. My group and I starved for some wifi were allowed to used it even though we weren't truly guests there. This is much appreciated Also to my surprise they have a washer and dryer here. Being a bit unprepared for the trip in the clothing department I was able to use the laundry room here which again was a big help making it through my week here as hiking and traversing through the woods dirtied up my clothes pretty good. From the looks of the grounds though, it is well taken care of and there is a pool for those who don't feel like going down the hill to Pinecrest Lake. Unlike the camp I stayed at, Pinecrest Chalet seems a bit more on the "high end" side of camping so if you're into more amenities, this looks like the place to be.

Warm and cozy cabin

Pinecrest Chalet is a beautiful lodge with cabins surrounded by the great outdoors. There's a flowing river in the back and the smell of pine trees everywhere. There are various sized cabins to accommodate couples, families and even larger houses for big groups. It's under new management as of the beginning of December 2019. Our room had a queen+futon to sleep 4 comfortably. There was a microwave, hot shower, water boiler and plates and utensils. Very convenient and we cooked up some simple dishes and ramen. Fyi, there is no food or supplies within Pinecrest Chalet, so prepare your food ahead of time or drive to Strawberry town for hot food. The lobby had a collection of DVDs we could bring back to our cabin to watch. Also, there were free refreshments, tea and some muffins. Pinecrest Chalet is 6 minutes from Dodge Ridge Ski Resort, so it's convenient to shred all day and by end of the day, you can relax in the privacy of your cabin. Also, for families with younger kids, you can sled right behind the playground area. There's a sweet hill to send it!

Just a bed, sink and toilet. And it did have electricity. Campsite also includes a built in bbq, a fire pit and table and two chairs on the deck. Was able to park my car right next to the cabin. Cabin also included a table top fan which was very helpful, as it was a very hot week. As someone who wanted to camp, but didn't want to sleep on the ground, these little cabins they have were perfect! Showers were coin op and just a quick walk from the cabin. Showers were .50 cents for 3 mins. You can add more quarters for more time. The communal bathrooms and showers were VERY clean at all times. Very well kept. The pool was terrific! Perfect temp and was very nice to hang out down there and read a book. Just a 5 min drive to big trees state park. Also a quick drive to Lake Alpine, Stanislaus river, Columbia state park, some terrific restaurants, and the moaning and Mercer caverns. The staff was super friendly and very helpful! All in all I had an amazing trip, and I will definitely be back!

They have one site with 50 amp. They do have 6 pull-through sites for larger rigs. They allow tents on pull-through sites only. The sites are dirt, but fairly level. Anyone with a large rig and tow vehicle should avoid this place or call to ensure you will fit. There are several large trees in the park that can make backing your rig difficult. Most of the sites are fairly small. If you are trailering another vehicle, they recommend renting another site to accommodate that tow vehicle which is a bummer. They do have a pool, showers and bathrooms. For me, it was cool to experience this place one time, but it wouldn't be my first choice.

They have a new spa area, 2 beautiful 1 person bathrooms w/shower, a comfortable community clubhouse with couch, chairs huge tv, coffee, creamers, milk, seltzers-all complimentary! Each site has newer firepits and they sell firewood... small, tidy, perfect!! While there's a long list of rules, the park is so chill - not uptight like so many others. It's all about common sense and courtesy... Also, just a five minute walk to the Local Scoop ice cream, the Deli, the general store and June Lake Brewing, where you'll find the La Parrilla food truck, which is amazing! There are a couple other restaurants as well, but most of them are closed Sunday through Tuesday, which is a bummer. None are dog friendly unless a service animal (but not the general store or the balanced rock cantina restaurant-no dogs PERIOD) June Lake Marina offers boat rentals but Gull lake is a little cheaper and much prettier! We checked out a couple other rv campgrounds and this one by far exceeds them all! HIGHLY RECOMMEND! No need to go anywhere else!

We learn the hard way when we were making too much noise because we were so excited to see each other and had some complaints from one of our neighbors. This place is very clean and comes with almost everything you need. Also the staff is pretty nice, and make sure you had what you needed or was able to help you get what you needed. There's a nice pool but it is not heated so just beware. We went when it was pretty warm, but that pool was so cold yet it still felt refreshing. We stayed in the premium Lodge that has a microwave and college size freezer fridge raider situation. There's a coffee maker in there but everything else you will need to bring yourself. There is one full service lodge that is on the ground however, that is located closer to the RV part and there's literally only one of those, so they book up pretty fast. There is a common outdoor kitchen area that has Stove to cook from however, there was one party there while we were there that it was basically camped out there the entire time. We could probably have gone over there and made meals, but it was a bit awkward because they literally were taking up all the space. We enjoyed ourselves and we like that we could all of our food outside and everything was so close together. We really love that the kids could just go and play at the playground and it was super close. Everything is just very close to each other. It was a really wonderful weekend and also this place doesn't seem to have any insect or bugs. Even though they mentioned that it was tarantula mating season when we came, we didn't see any tarantulas or any bugs in the Cabins, which is a good thing cause I'm terrified of tarantulas. I definitely would come back and looking forward to our next trip here.

The coffee had one not working. No one seemed to be carrying drinks around the floor. There were no musical performances. The cafe was re-worked, according to the person with me, and not for the better. Apparently, there was a buffet. The choices for food were good and the portion was very good for the price. The workers seemed friendly. The gift shop was a bit over-priced but otherwise as reasonable as a hospital gift shop. I sat beside the person I drove to the casino and my machine seemed more favorable, but, it was hungry in the end. I even got ahead for a while. It was most definitely smoky but once we sat at the slot machines, it wasn't bad. Who knows if I'll return, unless someone needs me to drive them there. I usually only gamble when I go out to eat.
