    Let me say this, "Your support during a challenging time has been invaluable. Thank you for being a rock I could lean on." Where do I start. The owner Cynthia is beyond a shining star. From the first day I met her she was beyond pleasurable and sweet. I came to here with an issue and she was nothing but understanding. From Day 1, she helped me by putting fire after fire out. She was truly my lifesaver with a fire extinguisher in hand. It was nothing that I had to worry about. She placed me at ease and made sure that my 50th birthday celebration would be fantastic. I will never forget her kindness and look forward to using this venue again for future events. I wanted to express my gratitude for everything you've done. Your selflessness and kindness are truly appreciated.

    Where to even begin?! Located in downtown Stockton this beautiful Industrial Style Venue has wooden floors, high ceilings, central heating and air, newly renovated restrooms (two family bathrooms plus a men's and women's), nice size prep kitchen, ice maker, big bar space (equipped with ice tub, sink, prep table and refrigerator!), gated lot and ample parking in and around the venue. However, it does not matter how amazing the hall is if management is not easy to work with. Well let me tell you Cynthia was AMAZING! My wife and I are so appreciative of Cynthia and how easy she made this whole process for us. We will definitely be renting out the venue again. Note: If there is no event the night before your's, you may have the hall that day to set up and if Sunday is open as well, then you are able to do the clean up the next day. Day of the event, you must be out by Midnight. Venue: perfect for a small or medium reception. We had 200 guest with enough space for a large dance floor. Location: Downtown Stockton, Weber Ave & Stanislaus. I was quite surprised how quiet and safe the area was. The surrounding buildings have been renovated or in the process. With the lot being gated and security at the door, the kids had plenty of safe space to run around.

    Booked the Sycamore for my daughters sweet 16 and I can't say enough how wonderful it turned out! The venue was more than I could've ever expected it to be. This facility is clean, big, and so many restrooms which made it easy for large groups. The kitchen area was perfect and the Bar area was great, everything we needed! They were so accommodating and helped ease my stress from planning such a big party! Don't hesitate book your next event with them you won't regret it!

    I had my wedding here a few weeks ago and Cynthia was amazing! Unfortunately I had to push back my original date during the peak of Covid and she was understanding and helping throughout the whole process. The week before the wedding I was texting her nonstop asking a bunch of questions and she was always available for me and made sure all my questions were answered. The event space is beautiful and it has a bar, fridge, prep kitchen and plenty of clean restrooms! I will definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a place to have an event.     We recently held our daughters quinceañera here at The Sycamore. Such a beautiful location, perfect for the aesthetic my daughter was going for. Cynthia was AMAZING from beginning to end! This process couldn't have been as easy without her. She was happy to answer any and all questions, super helpful with vendor recommendations and so flexible with all my "add ons" as we got closer to the party. They venue itself was beautiful and super clean. Didn't need to be overly decorated as it had a vibe all its own. Nice size prep kitchen, ice maker was a lifesaver in the summer heat and bar area was very spacious. Bathrooms were great with women's and men's bathroom and 2 good size single bathrooms which made it easy for our daughter with her dress!! Added bonus , the big roll up door... we were able to surprise my daughter with her car without making everyone go outside! Would totally recommend this place to any and everyone!

    I must admit, it's taken me some time to review The Sycamore located in Downtown Stockton, California simply for the reason, I didn't know where to begin. Our experience at this venue were nothing short of spectacular. Everything from start to finish was unquestionably perfect because we had the absolute privilege working with Events Director, Cynthia Guerrero- Lopez, whom was more than accommodating to all our needs at all hours of the day and night. Cynthia was readily available and answered all of our questions thoroughly. She was undoubtedly the sort of welcoming help you need when planning any event. Not to over exaggerate, but I must've contacted her at least two times a week for nine months about wedding details. I've jokingly teased, in the nine months she was helping us plan our wedding, we could have produced a child in that time frame. LOL And do you wanna know the real kicker of it all?! Cynthia Guerrero Lopez had a wedding to plan of her own. It just so happened she was getting hitched the weekend before us! Crrrazzzy, right?! Every bride knows how stressful planning a wedding can be, so to this day, it boggles my mind how readily available she was especially planning a wedding of her own. Pros Not only was the space gorgeous, but we were allowed free reign of the entire venue. And when I say free reign, I mean it. For cocktail hour, Cynthia's team were kind enough to host a bar outside as well as indoor to better serve our guests for open bar. During cocktail hour, we had catered street tacos paired with with esquites (mexican corn in a cup) while having lawn games such as: Giant Jenga, Giant Connect Four, Cornhole, and flip cup to entertain our guests. Later in the evening, we used the outdoor space to host two fire pits for our guests to roast marshmallows and make smores. As for the indoor area, my husband lives and breathes pizza and donuts, so we were able accommodate his wishes by creating a donut wall and a pizza bar for the groom. I cannot stress enough how huge this venue was. In addition to the pizza bar and donut wall, we also had a full dessert bar, a full buffet line, eighteen beautiful rustic farm tables, plus a photobooth to host 205 guests without it feeling cramped nor suffocating in any way. Oh let's not forget to mention the bartenders provided through The Sycamore. They were the best pair of duos serving up delicious drinks throughout the night. This bride was toasty shortly after dinner, so the bartenders did their jobs right haha Cons I think the only cons about this venue is, you'd have to bring in everything yourself. For example, the venue only provides the space so you'd have to rent out chairs, tables, china, silverware, etc from an outside vendor. However, in our case we absolutely didn't mind and liked the idea of putting in our own touch to our wedding. For instance, we brought in a whole patio set for the seating area around the main fire pit. And the Sycamore provided tree trunks that we used as seating for the other fire pit. People often ask us what was the best part of our wedding day was. The best part about the day thanks to Cynthia, her staff, and my family, we didn't have to worry about a thing. Everything was taken care of. And because everything was well taken care of, this bride was "Bride-Chilla instead of Bride-zilla! In turn, our experience at the Sycamore has exceeded our expectations entirely. My husband and I couldn't be more happier about about our wedding day and wish we can do it again 100 hundred times over. It was such a magical day full of love, laughter, and happy tears. Honestly, if you don't mind being a little creative and reaching out to vendors, The Sycamore is the venue for you! The Sycamore is exactly what Stockton needs.

I feel the start of a Comedy, 2 weddings and a graduation will be the title. Our latest adventure was a wedding for one of hunnie bunnie's co-workers. When I heard we would be going to the "Commander's House" on Rough and Ready Island in Stockton, I had a tough time finding any information. And what a shame that is. What a beautiful location, tucked away in the Port of Stockton. This was actually the Commanders home at one time. Story has it that the Navy sold the land to the Port of Stockton for $1.00. If that is true, what a bargain! And this was before our current economic problems. The house is located at the end of the Lyon's Golf Course, which we didn't have time to explore, but was beautiful. Although you can see all of the cranes from the Port in the background, you can maneuver yourself to avoid having them in your pictures. The event we attended was held mostly outdoors, but the house would have been beautiful, with a little work. (They need to put up some decorations, the walls were bare. And the bedroom upstairs that the bride and her entourage used didn't have a stick of furniture or even a mirror. I would have brought one from home, if I'd only known.) One of the local restaurants provided the catering (YELP review to follow) and DJ provided wonderful dance music as we danced under the stars. A few suggestions for future/prospective brides: 1/ Set up some nice chairs upstairs in your dressing room and some folding tables for your belongings. 2/ Ask if lights can be strung from the trees if your event is going to be held after dark. There is a nice bar area in which hosts can set up an open bar, and a stage for a DJ setup. My girlfriend had a dessert stand and there was plenty of room to set up all the fun decorations that come with a backdrop. She even had a taco vendor set up outside so it's nice to know this banquet hall honors outside vendors with the assumption that insurance requirements are met. Parking is very limited for guests and when it fills up (which it will), there is street parking but watch out for posted time limits. Considering how loud we all were, it's safe to say that you can host your next party here without worrying about noise restrictions.

Our event was awesome everyone loved how the hall looked we got so many compliments. This place is a very affordable venue hall holds 150 ppl but can comfortable seat and hold many more. Has a full kitchen w/warming trays, huge fridge, AC, private and street parking, raised stage, draped ceilings, tile floors, bar, another fridge here and ice machine. The only flaw I find is there's 2 single stall restrooms 1 men, 1 women other than that everything was perfect for holding a small event. We really didn't have major restroom issues although I say we ended up with around 200 people at our event. There were times it could be a bit of a line not too bad though. This would not detour me from leasing this hall again and again. You need a deposit to book, they do require 2 security guards and are very open to allowing you to set up a day before if the hall is not booked that day. They also do all kind of rentals you may need for your event at very affordable prices. We ended up renting tables and chairs from them. The owner of this venue also owns the party store across the street so they just bring anything you may want to rent or buy right over. They make balloon garlands at the store too although we ended up doing our own garland. I highly recommend this business all around 5 star service and experience. The only thing I would like to add is the need for a bigger AC unit and/or an additional large electric cooler (they have 1 already). We had our event 7/13/19 and that day was 100 degrees I believe the hall was cool when we got there and then it was just super hot. Which is normal I know with the door constantly being opened and as more people arrive plus the speakers from the DJ and so on. I do feel there is a big need for an upgrade. Hopefully the owner will considered addressing this area because inside the hall got to be pretty unbearable. Other than that this hall is perfect.

There is plenty of accessible parking available in the parking lot. There is a beautiful garden and many picturesque spots as you walk the path towards the venue. The building has a rustic exterior with leaves and vines hanging on the walls. The venue is spacious and elegant inside. There are multiple rooms that consists of the bar area, main reception hall, and a room where the photo booth and bathroom was at. The main hall was intimate and a lovely setting for a wedding reception. Overall we enjoyed our experience at the River Mill. The staff was friendly and accommodating. I DJ'd a wedding there in May 2026, and while the venue looks beautiful in photos, the actual experience behind the scenes was extremely disappointing. I'll give credit where it's due -- the landscaping and outdoor aesthetic are gorgeous and definitely photograph well. However, once inside the ballroom, I noticed spiderwebs in almost every corner, many with actual spiders still in them. For a venue that markets itself as upscale, the cleanliness and maintenance inside did not match the image they advertise online. The treatment toward vendors was also incredibly unprofessional. I was only allowed ONE hour to fully unload and set up all of my DJ equipment before guests arrived, despite caterers and other staff being allowed ample setup time. On top of that, I was not allowed to temporarily park on-site while unloading gear. I had to park across the street and haul thousands of dollars of equipment back and forth. After the wedding ended, I pulled into the parking lot briefly to load my equipment, and one of the managers told me, "You're lucky my manager isn't here because she would yell about where your car is parked." Completely unnecessary and disrespectful, especially after working a full wedding day there. The staff overall were not welcoming or vendor-friendly, and the policies are extremely rigid. For example, if your event is booked until 10:00 PM, they require everything to end 15 minutes early. So realistically, if you want your wedding to go until 10:00, you need to pay to book until 10:15. As someone who works weddings professionally and values both the couple's experience and the treatment of vendors, I personally would never recommend this venue. If you care about the people working hard to make your special day successful, I strongly encourage you to consider how this venue treats its event staff before booking.
