I do not know where all these people who gave five starts have eaten outside of Isleton, Ca but OMG. This place was HORRIBLE. I asked for water with my meal and they gave me bottled water of which they charged 1.90 for. I requested Tea at that point since I was paying for my drink anyways. The tea tasted like it came straight from their drain water. It was GROSS. At that point I asked for a pepsi since it was canned and SAFE. During this process the girl with long hair got pissy about the tea. one server tasted it and shook her head as if it was GROSS and she agreed. The girl with the long hair tasted it and said to just serve it anyway. WHAT? I mean, I am not a tea professional but I know what a good glass of ice tea should taste like. The food was far from par. The fried rice was too crispy as if it had been reheated and reheated again. The "generals crawdads" was such a disaster. It was a bowl of shriveled up crawdads with sweet n sour sauce poored over it. no rice served, just a bowl of 2 inches of sauce drinched over the over cooked crawdad morsels. I cant not see how this place has stayed in business. When given my bill I saw that they charged 1.90 for a can of pepsi. Let me get this straigh.. no matter what.. even with water.. if I wasnt a refill, I have to pay 1.90 EACH 12 ounces of fluid I drink? I felt so sorry for the table of five that we passed on the way out. They all had pepsi. i bet the waitress didnt mention that it would be nearly 10 bucks for not even a six pack. I would encourage Gordan Ramsey to visit this place. I bet the kitchen is a mess. If the dining room looks THAT run down and dirty, imagine what it looks like where you CANT see! 4 stars for good food. Very old chinatown garage sale atmosphere. Take out superb. Have dined in 3 times. Really nice wait people but the SLOWEST service ever each time. I'm only giving this place 3 stars. It's ok for Asian food. I asked the waitress what was their specialty? I usually ask that. She states it's all special. Ordered the Spicey chicken. Well it was ok. I love Pineapple and I probably spend too much money there. It's authentically made by a wonderful family in Isleton who happen to also own and run Peter's Steakhouse down the street. For those visiting Isleton, you literally cannot miss this place. It has street parking and is right on Main Street, right off of 160. It has a charming atmosphere and can definitely be considered a FAMILY restaurant. Bring the kids! I love their orange chicken and potstickers, but their Chinese chicken salad with almonds definitely gets craved frequently in my house. Decently priced for a good amount of food. read more

The food here is very authentic and perfectly prepared! We ordered the shrimp fried rice and the shrimp were plentiful and rather large, no complaints about that! The Pot Stickers were perfectly done and not burnt as so many are when cooked to long on to hot a flame, the special sauce served with them could be a little more spicy for my taste but is very flavorful regardless. The Sweet and Sour Pork was the best I've ever had... Seating is limited don't be surprised to see full tables if you don't go early, service can be a little slow but it's a family run and operated business and the food alone is worth the wait! Surprised Isleton keeps them in business, but I'm sure glad they are there!!!! read more

My wife and I went there in August after a good review from the T.V. show "Eye on the Bay." Met the owner. She was a character. Not professional. The place is OLD. The prawns were as if they bought them pre-breaded from the frozen food section. More rice and noodles than the main coarse. Service sucked. And it was not crowded. It was a waste of time and money. isleton, you are so interesting. we were on our way back to san francisco and found this little town. this town reminded me of that town woodbury in walking dead. most buildings are closed up although they are decent looking. and there's nobody on the street. zombie apocalypse. i told my friend if we heard any moaning noise we would run back to the car and leave as fast as we could. but no zombie. phew... good. and we saw this chinese restaurant. it looks... historical and very chinese. we were not very hungry but we just HAD to eat here. the owner seemed to know everyone in the restaurant, so they greeted us like we were strangers who just came to town, which we were. the food was nice. but nothing outstanding. nicely cooked. nothing offensive. it was cheap. we paid up and left. i was still pretty wary that a zombie might pop out from somewhere. three seasons of walking dead would do that to you... read more

Overall, I think that this place really deserves 3 1/2 stars, which I can't give. It's a neat little old-style Chinese-American place in atmospheric Isleton,one of the little, old originally largely Chinese towns nestled along the levees in the delta. The food is overall very good American Chinese. The Almond Chinese Chicken Salad was very enjoyable, if a bit simple and lacking subtelty, the lettuce roughly chopped. I read one review complaining that the tofu version was bland, which I could see with the light vinegary dressing, iceberg lettuce, etc. However, the version we had was great with the fried chicken pieces really making it. The chicken was very nicely fried, hit, crispy, and tender, and married nicely with the vinegar, crunchy lettuce, and toasted almonds. The orange chicken was a but intense and slightly on the slaty side, but very flavourful and again the chicken was nicely fried with a good texture. The Szechuan beef also was a bit salty but very tasty and nicely cooked. The sizzling rice soup was great, with a very nice richly flavourful broth. Wonton soup was also great . The honey walnut prawns were good, but a weak point as they were not very crispy. The service was good and friendly. The place and dishes could have been a touch cleaner but it was fine. For lunch in Iselton, I would recommend this place and would go here again when in town. read more

This is my favorite Chinese restaurant. This is food like no other. In a world where Panda Express passes as Chinese food this place has the real stuff and may not be for people who are unfamiliar with real flavors. The pot stickers are made by hand not from a frozen bag, the chow mien greasy goodness with pork not chicken (tired of chicken chow mien), and my favorite General Chicken. The General Chicken is like no other (it reminds me of a Thai firecracker chicken), its fried and in this red tangy spicy sauce. Most General Chickens are in this brown sauce I never like it. We ate here today!!! We had a wonderful waitress!!! We played taiko at Isleton's New Year Celebration, and after playing we were very hungry!!! So we tried the 'Pineapple Restaurant', it was recommended to try the Potstickers, they were perfect! Crispy of the bottom, and full of meat!!!! Worst tofu I've ever had, and I've had stinky tofu. The waiter was nice but food took way too long and since we were getting it to go we needed utensils which he forgot. Then I open it up in the car and it's less garlic tofu and more clumpy squishy bready chunks with soft tofu inside in a ton of sweet sauce. With no rice. My husbands Asian salad was a lot of tasteless lettuce and dry chicken. Yikes. read more

This is a wonderful Chinese restaurant with great food, at reasonable prices. Yee is a hands on owner who enjoys inter reacting with customers. She is effusive, and a lot of fun. My family and I have been eating here since 1992, The food was amazing! After 2005. Maybe they have changed owner or cooks but, It has gone down hill.....hubby and I used to enjoy the food here, we came often but now, the chow mein recipe and flavor has changed its not good its just okay, the orange chicken was horrible and the meat was very hard, the beef and broccoli hubby ordered, they used beef gravy....gravy. it was bad. What happened here, this was the Best Chinese Food in the world and we have eaten in a lot of Chinese Restaurants in our time, But we will not go back to the Pineapple anymore, its so sad because we loved the people and the food, but now things have changed and so has the food quality, and for the price they are asking per plate.....its no longer worth it. read more

We keep a boat near here. It is a treat for us to get the takeout and bring back to the marina. It has become one of our favorite Chinese restaurants, so much so, we keep a menu on the boat for ordering. Their food is fresh and well prepared and all at a very reasonable price. The menu has a wide selection for every taste. This is truly a family operation with everyone friendly and helpful. Isleton is a true Delta town, so don't expect much ambiance. But I notice that they are always busy, which says something. If you are in the area and have a craving for Chinese, try this place. I am sure you will be happy. read more

We had a family style meal (Menu A I think) and it seemed the food just kept coming and it was ALL amazing! We will make this restaurant a "must visit" every time we get out to the delta area! Interesting place, we traveled from Elk Grove, Ca to the town of Isleton, Ca to explore this city. On Main st. there lies a series of old Saloon slum types of buildings and one of the buildings lies an Asian restuarant consisting of Chinese style dishes. The atmosphere was nice, it was good enough to where you walked in and KNEW it was an Asian restaurant. Looking through the menu, we ordered the Chicken fried rice and the PuPu platter, and received our waters as we wait. The water ... tasted .. "interesting." (I only took one sip) The PuPu platter consisted of 2 chicken wings, 2 cheese wrapped won-ton, 2 tin-foil chicken, 1 eggroll, and 3-4 pieces of peking spare-ribs. I could say it was ok, but truthfully it had no flavor, I had to splash everything with the sweet and sour sauce and drown it not to be rude. We took the chicken fried rice to go, and I'm eating it as I am typing this review and the rice is kind of crunchy as if they fried it twice and the chicken is very interesting, like chicken flavored gum. I don't know if I would want to visit this place again, but it was an experience I shall be well aware of next time I visit this place. read more

Service was slow, but fresh prep takes time and with few patrons at 2:00 on Wednesday, to be expected. I've been to this restaurant five times. It was okay until the last visit. The server, which I hadn't particularly noticed in previous visits, was quiet and sullen. She is the owner's daughter. When it was pointed out by my companion that the server was seemingly put out by our presence, I asked her if she was ok. She immediately became upset and told me she didn't have a problem with everyone, just me?!?!?! I paid for my drink and left and will never return. I know everyone has a bad day but those who are serving people need to swallow their insults for whatever reason and not voice them to customers! I was shocked and embarrassed - she said this quite loud and there were other customers. Just finished having dinner there with my family. Was treated extremely rudely by the waitress. From slopping our waters down on the table, to throwing the plates, she never once was pleasant. Never offered to get more drinks, and after waited more than 10 minutes for the check, my husband finally had to get up and ask for it. Food was passable. Sesame chicken was the best. Our table was right in the setting sun, complete with flies. What a great evening. Will not go back. If you want to be ignored, this is the place for you! read more
