    Delicious Honey walnut shrimp
    Justin S.

I have been here 4 or 5 times. The food is very good, however my problem is with their to go containers. They need to start using paper and wax Chinese food boxes and unfortunately they put piping hot food in styrofoam boxes. I could smell taste and see the melted styrofoam in my food. The food is so good, they have the best honey walnut shrimp in the Bay Area! They just need to change their to go boxes and this will be my favorite Chinese spot. I hope the owners will please take action. Thank you

Being that we love Chinese food in our house and love to try different establishments and show support. We decided to stay really close to home and stop in here. Was very quiet with one other person seated. We were welcomed in and sat where we chose. Provided a double sided menu with some good choices.,once we placed our order I was excited to see Thai tea on the menu. But even more surprised that it came out in.a can. (Not what I was expecting) but after tasting was not bad in taste. Our food arrived, everything smelled good and was served as family style portions. I like spice in my food but when asked for sriracha, was told they only have chilli oil. I'm not much of a fan of that. While here we also noticed cool decor on the walls and a few displaying of pineapples , hince the name. I see this spot as a cool place to have for the very small town that it is. The sweet n sour pork was a tad tough to chew but every thing else we ordered was okay.. But if passing through and Chinese food is on your agenda. Stop in and see what you think. Still glad to have been able to support a local small business

Everytime I drive through the Delta, I think of Pineapple Restaurant and if I have enough time to pick up some food. You see, I've only heard about this wonderful place from my cousins. They have always told me to try the Garlic Fried Chicken if I'm ever near Isleton. This was the first time that the stars aligned for the Pineapple Restaurant and Me. I was driving back to Sacramento from a short trip to Antioch. It was about 11:15am when I called in my togo order. They open at 11:30am daily. The girl on the phone was super friendly, helpful, courteous and knowledgable because she's worked there for many, many years. Here's what I ordered: Garlic Fried Chicken - Two orders, one for me and one for my cousins. Super crispy with great garlic seasoning, but overcooked. House Special Chow Fun - Two orders, one for me and one for my cousins. Foil Wrapped Chicken - One order for myself. BBQ Pork - One order for myself. I ate this in the car while driving. It was obviously homemade, because it didn't look like BBQ Pork from a Chinese market and the texture was off a bit. It didn't have a lot of marinade, so the taste was lacking and it was dry inside. They serve it with hot mustard, but I didn't try it. I wouldn't order it again, but that's just my opinion. If you are wondering why I didn't describe the rest of the food, it's because my cousin and I both got sick from eating the Garlic Fried Chicken. My order was fried to Death. The pieces were on the smallish side and I determined it was because it was cooked to Death! It was super crispy and had the familiar texture and crunch of some Southern Fried Chicken I've had in the past, so I ate it. Apparently my cousin did too and we both had stomach aches and diarreah! It was horrible!! We knew it had to have been the chicken because that's the only thing my cousin ate that day, while I had that chicken and their BBQ Pork. So, I didn't eat the rest of the items I ordered and threw it out. My cousin called the next day to inform the restuarant. They were neither apologetic or caring and just said thanks for letting us know. IMO....I think they had a feeling the chicken was old and decided to fry it to Death and give it to someone with a togo order. The inside decor was old school Chinese with a mix of modern day....beer signs? I'll post some photos for you. I hope them well, but my experience was Simply Horrible!!!!

I am glad that this place is averaging 4 stars, meaning other people are having better experiences than we did. The food was.....average. While driving through Isleton, we wanted a good hometown feel meal. This was the only place seemingly open on Labor day, so in we went. It had the vibe of a 1980s Chinese food restaurant...with a random deer head on the wall. Maybe Chinese Americana? Anyway, no lunch specials, a rarity for Chinese food places. We each ordered a chicken dish, but what annoyed us was....$4 for a bowl of steamed rice...EACH! $8 for two bowls of steamed white rice. Talk about a profitable side dish.... The garlic chicken was overly fried and dry. So, yeah....not great Chinese food. Essentially, with tip, $40 for a "meh" lunch. My advice.....go to this sleepy water town on a non-holiday, and go somewhere else

Sesame chicken was the right amount of sweet and sesame. We also ordered the Hong Kong style chow main because we love the crunchy noodles, just the right amount of sauce and flavor and the chicken wing, very crunchy and the kids loved it! There is both indoor and outdoor seating. We chose to sit inside, and the indoor space is beautifully done with vaulted wood ceilings, exposed beams, warm lighting, and comfortable cushioned seating that makes it easy to settle in. The chairs were genuinely comfortable, which is not always a given. From what we could see, the outdoor seating looks equally inviting, especially with the string lights, open views, and waterfront setting. I can imagine it being especially nice at sunset or on a warm evening. We started with potstickers that tasted homemade and were excellent. They came out hot with a flavorful dipping sauce and disappeared quickly. For drinks, my partner ordered a lemon drop that was bright and well balanced. I asked for a whiskey sour, which wasn't on the menu, but they were happy to make one for me. It was decent, though not as memorable as the lemon drop. For dinner, we ordered General Tso's chicken, snow pea chicken, and rice. Both dishes were outstanding. The General Tso's sauce was perfectly executed, flavorful without being overly sweet, and the chicken was tender with a crisp coating. Even the broccoli was cooked just right, still slightly crunchy but fully done. The snow pea chicken had a lighter, savory sauce and was equally well prepared. Service was attentive throughout the evening. Our drinks were refreshed promptly, the food came out in good time, and a woman who appeared to be one of the partners stopped by our table to check on us personally. She was warm and engaging and mentioned they serve the best Chinese food in the Sacramento and Delta region. After the meal we had, that claim felt justified. Even the restrooms were clean and thoughtfully maintained, which is always a good sign. Between the quality of the food, the comfortable setting, and the inviting Delta atmosphere, this is absolutely a place we would return to. We don't give out five stars lightly, but this one earned it.

That said, this experience needs to be shared -- especially given the complete lack of concern for customer experience and food safety. I'm visiting the area for the weekend and decided to grab soup dumplings with a friend. It was our "cheat day," so we ordered about $60 worth of food, which wouldn't have been an issue if it had been edible. We ordered two lunch combo plates, pork bao buns, and pork and vegetable dumplings. Food review: I ordered the General Chicken lunch combo. It tasted nothing like expected and was mostly thick breading covered in an overly sweet sauce that was supposed to be spicy. The rice was honestly the highlight of my meal -- though rice is hard to mess up... or so I thought, considering how sick I am while writing this, and that was mostly what I ate. My friend ordered the orange chicken, which looked and tasted exactly like mine--again, mostly breading. Her chow mein was cold in the middle, which made it seem like it was microwaved. I'm not usually nitpicky, but this was already turning into a bad experience. The pork bao buns weren't as bad as the rest of the food, but once we got to the "dumplings," we stopped eating altogether and threw everything away. The dumplings we ordered came out as steamed potstickers. I wish I had taken a picture--they looked awful. We gave them the benefit of the doubt since this place is literally called Dumpling House. That was a mistake. I took one bite of the dumpling with the sauce provided (soy sauce with chili flakes), which masked the taste. On the next bite -- without sauce -- I immediately noticed a horrible flavor. I smelled the dumpling and it had a rotten odor. At that point, I was completely done. When I got up to wash my hands and walked toward the bathroom, I took a closer look around. I noticed tin serving dishes that staff appeared to be eating directly out of, and a "wrapping" station set up on a table with wrappers laid out and a container of wonton filling just sitting there at room temperature. I don't know how long it had been out, but my friend mentioned it was there when we first walked in and assumed it was fresh. We were seated for about 30 minutes, and the filling remained out the entire time. Pork should absolutely not be left out that long -- and clearly, based on what we experienced, it wasn't safe. I've now spent the last six hours sick in my hotel room. Not only do I feel awful, but I'm also missing out on activities I had planned for this mini trip. Dumpling House -- please do better. We debated our options for food before continuing our drive back home and d cided to find a Chinese food place. The Arnold Chinese Restaurant fit our requirements well. My litmus test for a new place is to order beef chow fun. I was pleasantly surprised when they had it on the menu. It's something that you have to have a constant fresh source for it to have a chance of being good. Secondly, even though I forgot to stipulate "dry-cooked", that's how they prepared it. (Proper chow fun is not served with goopy sauce). The seasoning of fermented black beans was perfect! Not something from a jar, but whole, fermented blacks beans full of taste. It was pretty good, overall. The server brought our food out very quickly, hot and fresh off the wok. I had to wait some minutes while it cooled down enough to eat. When I took my first bite, I was very pleased. The taste was spot-on. Their chef knows how to cook. Fortunately, the portion was fairly generous, too, as I realized how hungry I was. My friend had ordered a few different things stir fried, like garlic eggplant and tofu. It looked well-prepared, as well. It was quite a nice surprise that we found such a good Chinese restaurant in Little old Arnold.
