I've always brought people from out of town here because of the quality of food. However, today sent me a little bit over the edge. We had a group of 3 (same size as our group) behind us in line to order and by the time we got our food 45 minutes later, they were done with their food and leaving the restaurant. We ended up getting our sandwiches shortly after they finished and I was told my side of hash browns would be out shortly. Turns out they were out by the time my sandwich was finished plus another 5 minutes. A group then sat down next to us and got their food within about 5-10 minutes of sitting down. I'd understand this if we were at the Alberta location which is much busier than this location was but I won't be returning to this location. read more

Pine State Biscuit is the home of Southeastern breakfast soul food. Now with four locations in the Portland area with the NW being my favorite because of more seating. You can't go wrong here; the biscuits, fried chicken, eggs, gravy, bacon, Bloody Mary's are all excellent. read more

I only have incredible things to say about this place. My wife and I came here for a good breakfast and left so satisfied! The Bloody Mary was delicious, but the biscuits were incredible. The veggie Reggie will be in my dreams for a long time... that fake bacon was the best I've ever had. We loved watching the biscuits being made to precision in front of us. The place had a line the whole time, but service was quick and efficient. I don't like going to the same restaurant twice, but I fully plan to come back here next time we're in town. I have heard so much about this place I was excited to try it as breakfast is my favorite meal. I ordered the Reggie and it was fine. The chicken was a little tough for a sandwich type meal, and the rest tasted good/average. Maybe the tough part was that they aren't allowing indoor seating and it is 43 degrees outside with a breeze. My good went cold quickly. The service was friendly and tipped well as the cheating options aren't their decision. I would not necessarily recommend this place over another one. Pine state used to be a go to for me. Great biscuit sandwiches, great selection of hot sauces, personality, decent portion sizes for the price. Coming to this new location was a major disappointment. First, they were out of the biscuit special, the stacked club. That would be fine closer to close at 3pm or even noon, but I had ordered around 10:30. The staff could have crossed that option off of their chalk board. Second, they missed charging us on drinks, which is fine, but is still a mistake, we brought it up with the waitress and paid for it regardless. Third, they mistook our order of grits for a side instead of an entree. Outside of these issues with service/mismanagement. This location is big, but is clean to the point of feeling like a gentrified version of the original. Portion sizes are much, much smaller than I remember as well. Overall, I'm not a fan of the direction this restaurant has gone in. read more

Came here on a weekday during brunch time and was pleasantly surprised on how friendly the staff was despite being busy! The food came at a reasonable time and was fresh and well prepared. Food is good, service is god awful. Water was empty after 5 min and nobody came to refill it, mimosa took 25 min to come out, food took 40 min. Yet they ask you to tip the "service" up front by paying prior to getting your food. So, you're stuck with that tip regardless of the poor service received. read more

This was our first time here and I couldn't have asked for a better experience. Service was quick and the food was incredible. We had two Reggies and split an almond strawberry poptart. The sandwiches were filling but not too heavy, the biscuits were moist without being oily, and the poptart was the perfect crispy, sweet ending. The only thing warm about this place was the water they served. Then they gave one member of our party's food 15 minutes before anyone else.
