Matcha Latte with Vanilla(?) - (a little too frothed for my taste)
    Nicole S.

The café is actually attached to a small downtown hostel, so it's very quaint and cute. They have many offerings at very reasonable price points. The service and experience on getting our meals and beverages was excellent. But unfortunately the meal itself was about a 3.5. the Matcha Latte was good, I did ask for (and pay for) a little bit of vanilla syrup to be added but I didn't really taste a trace of it. And unfortunately the latte was mostly frothed up throughout the whole drink, so the latte wasn't as smooth as other baristas have made for me throughout Portland. The Créme Brulée French toast was a bit burnt on the sides from the carmalized sugar on the top that they flambéed and the portion was certainly significant. However I had hoped for there to be maybe a custard or creme to make it more like a Créme Brulée instead of just the crunchy sugar topping, so I was a bit disappointed. The staff was very friendly and welcoming, I will have to come back again to try some other dishes as the choices and price point are pretty great, I just hope they don't reflect the quality of the meals themselves

Lovely little cafe offering a solid breakfast menu. Early hours, which is nice as many places in the Nob Hill area don't open until later. Order at counter. Customer service was OK-ish, not super friendly, but efficient. The meal was good and so was the mimosa, but for $25.30, including tip the price was a little high for the meal. They do offer live music, and a variety of entertainment, which is awesome. But I'm not sure I would have a meal there again. Perhaps only a beverage. Pay to park on the street.

Lovely bright, airy, quiet coffee & cafe spot to chill on 18th/Glisan close to the park, away from the busy hubbub of Burnside, Pearl & NW 21st. Staff are attentive and friendly and barista offered with our hands full, to open doors & show us out to patio and turn additional heaters on if needed as it started to cool down on a gorgeous fall day. Americano 16oz $3 Cascadia Espresso akin to a Stumptown :/ brew, and Marsee iced Lemon Poppy Scone $3.50 needed warming to soften the dryness and corner ends esp. but overall enjoyable enough and loved the spaces. Water filter station is inside side dining room with glasses to help yourself. Space is very clean and in good repair and a calm vibe and maybe time of year with less visitors. If it's been a lifetime since your last hostel visit, Euro backpacking in youth lol it seems that all we've visited for sips around the globe have a definite uptown new gen appeal. Lots of events Open Mic, Music, that even locals can get in on and they show every Timbers game on Big screen. Got Taps for brews and vine + fresh cut fries, dirty or garlic thyme, to burger out on 100% grass fed patties. Seems to be a busy scratch made kitchen from Mac n cheese, hummus, marinated tofu, biscuits, etc and local purveyors for artisan breads, Marsee Baking scones, Bentley Bagels, real maple syrup... Putting HC breakfast and fries on my Next Eats!

My friend and I decided to check out the cafe for dinner to reignite our love for hostels + solo travel! We came on a Monday night where they had live music + an open mic night. The performers were great and really added to the sweet summer nights here in the city. It also was a packed house, which was great to see for the performers. My friend and I chose their burgers, I immediately ordered their house made veggie burger which I really enjoyed. Fries were an extra $3. Overall, large portions and worth it. We both will be back for another fun night!

Bad management system, every worker has their own rule to different people. They treated disabled people rude and badly...

Change the whole team so I went to there that day and I did not stay a night but they still wanna charge me because I only check in at 5:30. Check out at 8:30 but they still wanna charge me for no reason because I did not even touch the bed, but they still wanna charge me because of their business and I can count them as evil Business

The location and hours are super convenient when you are staying at this hostel. Wifi, good amount of outlets and seating. My enjoyment of the cafe (live music sand space) is why I'm rating 4. In terms of as a restaurant it's a 3. Standard food for a cafe. Service is friendly ordering but nothing further. Great place for the hostel convenience but definitely don't come out of your way to eat here

    Eggs Benedict
    Cami S.

The Eggs Benedict special was really good, the sauce was rich and the eggs were perfectly runny. The potatoes were not crunchy but rather soft and chewy. They have plenty of seating both inside and outside which is nice when the weather is warm!

    Baked Eggs. Very tasty!

Just had the Baked Eggs for breakfast. Oh so yummy!! Second time we've eaten here; we will be back!!

Their tap list is extensive but also includes non-standard options. We love to see non-alcoholic beers as well as gluten free beer, cider, cocktails, and other libations. The food menu is great too. There are several items that either come gluten free or can be modified to be. The servers are knowledgeable about the ingredients of the menu items and I feel confident and safe eating here when gluten free is a need for me. They can get pretty crowded, but have several seating options. It was nice out today so outdoor seating was even possible, though it looked like there was a wait. There are tvs in several spots that showcase local sports when possible. There is a kids area and you can sit close while the kids play. Everyone we come in contact with here from servers to hosts are super friendly and welcoming. The food is pretty good. This time around, we shared the garlic Parmesan fries and the chicken wings (buffalo and honey gojuchang sauces). The wings were smoked and moist with good flavor. The fries were alright. More of the aioli would have helped so maybe request extra sauce or get some on the side. The dessert menu has some non-traditional offerings. The highlight for me was the cheesecake. I was assured by a server one time that the chef creates a gluten free cheesecake that rotates on the seasonal dessert menu. The current offering is tiramisu. The coffee chocolate sauce is good and I appreciated the bonus chocolate chip biscotti. The actual cheesecake is decent and I would be excited to try other flavors in the future.

You can play board games here if no one's home is big enough for your group (their website says they no longer book the conference room for board games, but you can game there if it's not reserved). There's a few games in the upstairs green room closet. On a Sunday afternoon, there were plenty of spots open, but it is not dead either. Theres a variety of seating to suit all body types and preferences. First floor is wheelchair accessible. The upstairs bathroom has ducks on the ceiling so that's worth a visit alone. The blueberry rooibos iced tea is delicious and you add your own sweetener at the drink station. It literally feels like hanging out at a friend's house. Worth popping in if you haven't been. We got the pizza with artichoke hearts, mozzarella, ricotta, garlic, and basil. It was super flavorful and the dough was delicious, especially the crust. We also tried the catfish po' boy.
