Cool mural!

I've been here a few times since their opening. It's a beautifully cozy spot with an excellent tap list. All the staff are kind and super helpful. I like the broad range of indoor and outdoor seating as well as the solid cider options. Haven't ever gotten anything to-go, so not sure how that stuff is priced. Outside food is welcome, and I read they're starting to have food trucks on certain days. A welcome addition to the South Waterfront community!

Have you ever dreamed of a place where you could have a locally crafted drink with your canine friends and family? If so, you're in luck. It's here, tucked away in Portland's South Waterfront. SERVICE The owner was back there serving drinks. He's friendly, well informed on drinks and willing to answer all your questions. DRINKS Choose from a variety of local crafted beers, ciders and wines on tap. They also have a few coolers with cans of beer, hard ciders, non alcoholic beverages and more. You can take those to-go. But why when you can enjoy with your friends? Human and canine. FOOD In order to allow dogs here, they can't serve food. However, guests are free to bring their own food from home or any other establishment. We have some good food trucks down here Tue and Wed that would be perfect with a drink. INSIDE The atmosphere is chill, laid back and kind of modern. There are comfortable, seating areas in the corners, a specific area with a big screen TV and a few tables. They also have a long counter with tall stools and hooks for your dog's leash. This way they can be right there with you without worrying about holding the leash. They also have gender neutral restrooms, free wifi, outlets all over and a self-serve water station. OUTSIDE There are some tables and benches outside. Unfortunately, construction will begin soon. Still, it's a nice, traffic free throughway. All-in-all this is a nice addition to the area. My dog, Yoda, gives it two paws up!

Cozy, friendly place that's dog friendly. First, the service and craft beverage selection is excellent. There are 22 taps with rotating beers (some are gluten free even!), nitros, ciders and wine. If you can't find something you like on tap (which is impossible) there are 6 coolers of off-sale that you can select from. 2) The ambience is welcoming and aesthetically pleasing. The place is gorgeous! 3) The owner and staff are knowledgeable about the drinks they're serving. 4) The place attracts customers that are friendly and there for community. I came in alone with my dogs and struck up several conversations with different people. My dog also met a lot of new friends. They can't serve food because they allow dogs inside but you can bring your own or order carry out from one of the many nearby restaurants or visiting food trucks. I highly recommend this place and am confident you will enjoy it as much as I did. My dog also gives it two paws up!

Lone Wolf Watering Hole is the kind of place you want in your neighborhood. The ambiance is relaxed and unpretentious--perfect for catching up with friends or striking up a conversation with someone new. It feels like a local hangout in the best way. The owners are fantastic--super friendly, easy to talk to, and clearly passionate about what they do. They know their beer, and it shows in the tap list. I've seen selections from Other Half, Lost Abbey, and Pure Project--always impressive and rotating. Prices are fair, and I really appreciate the variety of non-alcoholic options too. Whether you're deep into craft beer or just looking for a chill spot to hang out, Lone Wolf hits all the right notes.

Their tap list is extensive but also includes non-standard options. We love to see non-alcoholic beers as well as gluten free beer, cider, cocktails, and other libations. The food menu is great too. There are several items that either come gluten free or can be modified to be. The servers are knowledgeable about the ingredients of the menu items and I feel confident and safe eating here when gluten free is a need for me. They can get pretty crowded, but have several seating options. It was nice out today so outdoor seating was even possible, though it looked like there was a wait. There are tvs in several spots that showcase local sports when possible. There is a kids area and you can sit close while the kids play. Everyone we come in contact with here from servers to hosts are super friendly and welcoming. The food is pretty good. This time around, we shared the garlic Parmesan fries and the chicken wings (buffalo and honey gojuchang sauces). The wings were smoked and moist with good flavor. The fries were alright. More of the aioli would have helped so maybe request extra sauce or get some on the side. The dessert menu has some non-traditional offerings. The highlight for me was the cheesecake. I was assured by a server one time that the chef creates a gluten free cheesecake that rotates on the seasonal dessert menu. The current offering is tiramisu. The coffee chocolate sauce is good and I appreciated the bonus chocolate chip biscotti. The actual cheesecake is decent and I would be excited to try other flavors in the future.

Having tucked away spaces lined with books to actually sit and read, talk, or hang out in is so rare in a bar setting. It makes it feel more like a community space than just another tap house. At the same time, it works really well for large groups, we've rolled in deep before and never had an issue finding room to spread out. The beer selection is excellent. Thoughtful and rotating enough to keep things interesting without being overwhelming. Whether you want something hoppy, something dark, or something easy drinking, they've got you. And the left wing vibe is the cherry on top. It's refreshing to spend time in a space that wears its politics on its sleeve, pro-labor, pro-community, unapologetically itself. It feels like a place built for the people who actually live in the neighborhood.

Outstanding! This space suits so many purposes: studying, catching up over a drink, planning/researching, etc. There's even a conference room with seating for 11 that you can reserve. You can play board games here if no one's home is big enough for your group (their website says they no longer book the conference room for board games, but you can game there if it's not reserved). There's a few games in the upstairs green room closet. On a Sunday afternoon, there were plenty of spots open, but it is not dead either. Theres a variety of seating to suit all body types and preferences. First floor is wheelchair accessible. The upstairs bathroom has ducks on the ceiling so that's worth a visit alone. The blueberry rooibos iced tea is delicious and you add your own sweetener at the drink station. It literally feels like hanging out at a friend's house. Worth popping in if you haven't been. You can check the current drink selection on their website. You order in the entryway and then carry your items to your seat. Bus your dishes back to the entryway when you leave.

That is not the case here as you will see by my pictures! There are so many records to choose from and they are constantly adding to their inventory. Today they have six beers on tap, one cider and they offer wine by the glass. I also have a case where you can pick up beard to go or drink it in house for a small corkage fee. Great rooftop vibe and a fun place to hang out for an afternoon. We ordered a beer flight, and as someone who's had quite a few brewery flights and is pretty open-minded when it comes to beer, this one unfortunately missed the mark for me. Out of the 10 beers, only about 3 were somewhat enjoyable and around 4 were honestly undrinkable. Thankfully, the food redeemed things a bit. We got the pizza with artichoke hearts, mozzarella, ricotta, garlic, and basil. It was super flavorful and the dough was delicious, especially the crust. We also tried the catfish po' boy. It was a little salty, but the fish itself was cooked really well and the sauce was tasty. The spring mix salad with cranberries, slivered almonds, and feta was good too, though I personally would've liked a better toppings-to-lettuce ratio. Overall, I'd come back for the rooftop and food, but probably know to expect mediocre brews.

Simple with pepitas, kale and raddicio. Cheese and dressing. Their beers are some of my favorite from a local brewery. Their Cloud Mentality is a good choice for IPAs. The line gets long for the bar and there's no way to close your tab if you leave it open unless you're willing to wait in the line again to pay. If you don't do that you will be automatically charged 20% gratuity which is a good deal to not have to line up just to close out.

To eat I got the tomato soup with a grilled cheese, which was absolutely fantastic. The soup was so creamy and flavorful, and I cannot imagine a better meal after spending all day walking outside in the rain. The fries were super crispy and I liked the batter. My partner and I shared some of their breadsticks, which were deliciously baked (fresh!) and came with a super refreshing basil crema and a nice tomato-y dip. Wonderful all. My partner ordered fish and chips, and was surprised to find that it is one large fillet of fish, not multiple pieces like you would typically expect. He said the fish was fine, but a little tough. My mom had special requests as usual, and this waitress was very nice as well, but the joint was not as accommodating as some others have been. They did have egg whites, but when she asked for more vegetables, the waitresses implied that the only vegetable they could provide was zucchini, and it could not be changed because......that's what the chef decided? After she got her entree (egg whites, cheese and zucchini?), my mom complained that her scramble was tiny, but got way too much toast. Looking at her plate, I feel like she had a point this time. I don't think this place is bad, but I've had a lot of good chicken and waffles in my time, and this falls slightly short imho.
