I called and everything seemed normal enough. Kinda had that family-business vibe, like maybe the "office" was the house and family answered the phone. The person who answered the phone had trouble with my last name, street name, city name, and zip. I was just repeating and repeating, but that happens, so no big deal. She then said she would text the info over to the tech "right away." I knew the tech couldn't be sitting around waiting to drive to my house, so I asked if I should expect a call back tomorrow, today, or later in the week. I'm having this entire conversation with my work persona, very laid back and curious, no pressure, but she bristled HARD at this question. Huh? "Well! Huh! Um, I said right away. He'll get it right away." What? I'm curious how busy he is and when he can fix my sink...I am in no way questioning your ability to send him a text. I'm sure he's busy. "Right away" is the same as 30 minutes or more if he's on a job, so I am good. We hung up with no ETA for a call or an appointment. That was 3 full business days ago and no sign of them yet. I'd go one star but they did come recommended by someone I trust completely. Overall, though, I'd look elsewhere for plumbing help.

My impression is that they will just throw out numbers to see what sticks and if you seem to live in a nicer home, they jack up the price. Again, good work and they're timely, but you're likely overpaying for their service. I would definitely price out any work you ask these guys to do. When I confronted Al about this, he basically told me, "good luck finding a new plumber." And this was after I've fed him business for over three years. Arrogant and expensive.

I needed the ENTIRE water line replaced all the way from the house to the street, which was going to be complicated because we live on a slope and have rocky landscaping. I asked Steve tough questions, including whether his team had ever drilled a brand new line in such rough terrain, which he assured me he had. I told Steve, "I want this done once, I want it done right, and I don't want to have to worry about it again." Steve and Done Right Plumbing delivered! They installed a brand new water line, a new pressure release valve, and managed to do the whole thing without digging a trench! Done Right is the ONLY company in the area that owns their OWN drilling equipment. I would have paid more than Done Right charged, but their total price was completely reasonable. This is an honest, decent, high quality company. I hope they flourish for a long, long time. I've paid a lot of plumbers over the years for subpar work. From now on, I'll hire Done Right and I will refer them to all my friends!

Then she was sent to the AI voicemail- clearly dodging our calls. I finally had to call from a 3rd phone and they said they would overnight the part. Didn't happen. Two weeks and 3 calls later, they got the part, but charged us $532 where the part should have been under warranty. He said it was because he had to pay for the part that should have been free. If they had ordered the part to them in the first place that wouldn't have happened. I would have just gone with someone else, but the part had to be ordered by the company that ordered it apparently. They are having me send the payment to someone's home instead of an office. Clearly that's because they don't have one and why they didn't have the parts sent to them. Be wary!

Once they had me in their system, they started contacting me in advance to schedule the test each year, which I really appreciate since the city notice doesn't usually give a lot of turnaround time. This year the city surprised me by sending the notice a month early, and I was on vacation when the notice came. This left me with just over a week before it was due. I contacted 5 Star Backflow Services and they were able to do the test just a couple days later. After the test they always send the report directly to the city within 24 hours. After the visit, I requested a basic written summary of what was inspected, what was observed, and what was recommended. The company refused to provide any written findings, technician notes, estimate, or service summary. The receptionist Kaitlyn said they would not provide a letter because they would then have to "back up" what the electrician said. She told me to submit my own audio recordings, video recordings, and text messages instead. She also refused to transfer me to the electrician, the owner. During the conversation, she was openly hostile, dismissive, and used profanity, including words such as "fuck" and "bitch." I also experienced her tone and comments as racist and discriminatory toward me as an Indian woman. I repeatedly explained that I was not asking the company to make up or certify an unsupported diagnosis. I was asking for a factual record of the visit: what the electrician checked, what he observed, what he told me, and whether further testing was needed. Instead of addressing the request professionally, the receptionist told me, in substance, that I could do whatever I wanted and that the company would not provide anything in writing. This raises a serious question: why send a licensed electrician, provide verbal opinions and recommendations, and then refuse to document the visit or allow the customer to speak with the technician or owner? The combination of refusing basic service documentation, blocking access to management, using profanity, and making me feel racially targeted was completely unacceptable. I would strongly advise customers to confirm in writing before hiring this company whether they will provide technician notes, findings, recommendations, estimates, and a professional escalation path if there is a dispute.

Instead of charging us, he explained to my husband how to fix the problem himself if he would rather choose that option. My husband was very appreciative as he would rather fix the issue himself. Unfortunately neither estimate was sent for over a week. The receptionist/PM Roxanne who I spoke to on the phone was very friendly and accommodating. She got the estimate emailed to me quickly after requesting it, but then I had to contact them again in order to get the additional estimate that didn't have the bbq line included. Of the 3, these guys were the most expensive estimate I received for the work. The cost was 2x more than the mid price option. They may do great work, but we didn't get that far. I guess there is a reason people tell you to shop around for plumbing work!
