After purchasing a new house we discovered some water that was getting into the basement. I reached out to Meraza's Sewer Svc's, a referral from the contractor who installed our gutters. Miguel showed up on time, and began pointing out a few issues with the exterior sewer line and some sketchy concrete cracks that could be causing the leak. After receiving their estimate, I hired them and got on their schedule. Both Miguel and Martine do not shy away from hard work! It was not an easy task but they worked methodically and got it done in a robust way. They discovered a sewer line that was completely blocked by clay and mud. Miguel and Martine also found a french drain in the basement that had been incorrectly installed by the previous homeowner. They pointed out that it was not allowing the water to drain into a sewer line which was causing additional problems. The french drain was removed and replaced with a couple of new sump pumps. They also scoped the sewer line. While inside the house, they protected their work space with painters plastic so as to prevent dust from traveling all over the house. At the end of each day, they lined up the buckets full of clay and dirt along a wall and kept their work area super clean. I was so impressed with these guys. Miguel showed up at 8 AM sharp, scoped the sewer line, and started digging. Sewer service was only interrupted for maybe an hour around lunchtime. By 4 PM, it was all done. I had some slow drain issue and I asked another company to do the job firstly, after spent hundreds of dollars, the issue became even worse and my kitchen was totally clogged. Great work. Very professional. We interviewed six sewer companies to fix an offset drain. Miguel reviewed the sewer video from the emergency sewer repair company and then did his own sewer scope. If you have a drain clog problem, you should look for Miguel. He's experienced expert in this area. I emailed Miguel to help with a drain clog problem at my kitchen. This is the second time I had this problem. Last time I got a big plumbing company to help. The work was well done but the price was high. So I found Miguel through Yelp. He came on time and did the inspection on the kitchen pipe line in the craw space first. That's first time I saw a plumber check in the craw space first. After finding the line is ok, he snaked the kitchen line from a 2" c/o located under the sink. He found the problem was the grease and food in the line. After cleaning the drain clog, he tested the sinks and made sure everything was flowing good and there's no leaking. By the end, he gave me very useful advice on how to avoid the drain clog in the future. The final price was very reasonable. He was also very knowledgeable and helpful throughout the whole process, not minding any questions I was asking. I will definitely use Miguel and his company for future service again. read more

Friendly weekend emergency help during Snowmageddon . . . at a fair price! I highly recommend Meraza's Sewer Services. Miguel Astudillo braved clogged and icy streets on a Sunday during Snowmageddon to check on our sewer pump which had stopped working (at the worst possible time, of course). He was able to put in a temporary solution that worked until I could order and have a replacement pump delivered from an online retailer on the East Coast (saving me hundreds), which took an extra week due to winter storms along the route. Miguel promptly came out with another workman after the pump arrived. Both were friendly, professional and efficient. Even though Miguel could have charged almost anything he wanted to help with my weekend emergency, in the end his overall labor fee was very reasonable. Miguel came out on possibly the coldest, rainiest day ever where it wasn't actually raining, to run a camera up my sewer line. Later he and his helper completely fixed the line to my satisfaction, at a price that was less than what other quoted as well. Miguel replaced a toilet for us recently. The toilet we had was old and was not placed on a flange to keep it from "rock and rolling". There was evidence of leaks around the base of the toilet. My daughter bought her originally built house during the 60's located in the Seatac area about 2 years ago and needed the sewer line connected to the city sewer line replaced. And she was referred to Meraza's Sewer Services by an acquaintance. Since she had just given birth, she understandably does not have the time to see what is going on during the work process. So I volunteered to do that task. I myself had hired contractors previously. In doing so, I make it a point to chat with those who do the work and see for myself how it's is done in the hopes of learning from them. The main bulk of the job was performed by Martin T. who I found out has 22 years of experience in that line of work. I also found out that he and Miguel A., the owner of the business, used to work with the same company before Miguel decided to form his own company taking Martin with him. Martin handled the bulk of the job because I found out that he specializes in sewer line connections outside of the house while Miguel specializes in plumbing work inside the house. Chatting with Martin revealed that his main goal is to always please and satisfy each customer. And he demonstrated that by the way he did an impressive job which I observed he took great pride in. In fact, during the time of inspection the Midway Sewer District inspector commented that they did a clean job. What I found remarkable was the way they refilled the excavation sites with dirt whereby as if nothing happened! I called Meraza's Sewer Services after hours and left a message. Miguel called me back before I could put the phone down and scheduled an appointment for 1:00 the next afternoon. Miguel called at 11:45 AM to say he had finished the morning job early and could come early. Martin and Miguel showed up right away and went to work to determine the cause of my problem and their course of action. Over the next two hours they demonstrated the range of their experience to access a very difficult clean-out inside my house and used all the tools at their disposal to remove tree roots that had invaded my side sewer near the house and verify full functionality of my sewer system. Additionally, Miguel quickly installed a surface access for the outside sewer clean-out. I also received advice for a permanent repair of the root compromised side-sewer.
