This place is home of the sizzling plate. Steaks come out on a flat hot iron plate. Great little secret in St. Charles. We had eight people in our group. The waitress was great. Got the orders down, always filling up the water, and checking on us. The food came out quick and all was delicious. Fried corn, mashed potatoes and gravy, pork tenderloin, NY Strip Steak, were some of the items my party ordered and were all pleased. The cook came out and made sure all was good too. Great Job! The reason I know the time because the rude bartender told a couple who just sat at the bar "lunch is over". Like she was talking to two 5 yr olds. In the meantime a table of 4 were served burgers. She had a total of one table (burgers) and a couple at bar and she told us she would be with us in a minute. Well a minute turned into 5 and she finally got around to us. We ordered and waited and waited while she got a beer for a guy who just walked in and sat at bar. Then she checked on table and checked them out including give them change before she brought 2 millers and a bucket of beer. She disappeared into kitchen and we were done with all drinks and we were waiting again. Well we had planned on hanging out for awhile but after the bad service we decided to go. We asked dor a bill and she came back with a total of $24 for 2 millers and a bucket of buds... domestic beer. R u kidding me!!! This was pricier than Ameristar casino. So not only did we put up with her being rude and bad service I'm pretty sure she purposely overcharged is to make up for lack of patrons. The service was outstanding. We all ordered ribeye steaks and they all were cooked perfectly to our liking. The atmosphere is non-smoking. Prices are the best you can find in St Charles. Both the food and the service were phenomenal. This place hand picks their own meat, grind their own burger meat and season the food to perfection. Both the burger and he fries came out steaming hot and the burger toppings were cold and fresh. I will be coming back with a larger group. read more

Great local spot. Relaxed, smoker-friendly environment. Since it's a family-run business, service can be a bit slow during peak hours, but they more than make up for that with the quality of the food and the friendly atmosphere. All their food is good, but I love the mushroom Swiss burger. They also have a good selection of alcoholic beverages, and I was very happy to discover they carry my drink of choice (Angry Orchard). If you're in the area, this one is definitely worth seeking out. read more

The Pine Room is exactly what it looks like; a neighborhood bar with great food. By far they have one of the best burgers I've had in the St. Louis/St. Charles area! They offer typical bar food and I've never had anything bad from there yet. It is a full bar so plenty of drinks to choose from and the bartenders are very knowledgeable in cocktails. The bathrooms are single bathrooms and not exactly the cleanest, but again, it is a bar. If you are looking for good cheap eats and to get some drinks, this is a great place to go to. read more

At first I was not sure. This is a smoking bar. I ordered pork tenderloin and it came out fried and like a shnitzle. It was terrible and could not eat. Ordered pulled pork and it was great. Slow smoked and very tasty with sauce made here. You do need to be ok if someone is smoking at lunch. read more

Went there on Thursday night for steak, got there at 6:15 tried to get a table for six waited for a hour with nothing coming up in site. A good friend turned my husband and I onto this spot and we fell in love with the food. We're both originally from other states, so we have a lot of visitors and the Pine Room is always one of the places we take them. Repeat visitors ask to go back everytime their in town. Order a steak and you can hear it sizzling on it's cast iron plate, as it's being delivered by your server. AND THE STEWED TOMATOS...OMG....THE BEST. They now have desserts and menus...I just hope that thye don't "fancy" the place up too much.....we like it just the way it is! read more

There's no other place to go besides the Pineroom if you want a good steak. We haven't been in long time & we miss it. We tried our old favorite place. Wasted $63.00 & the steak at this other place was disgusting. The Pineroom is the only place to eat a good steak in St. Charles. Family owned & operated with an awesome bartender. read more

Have eaten several times for lunch as it's close to office. Everyone was raving about the pork chop so I ordered it and was throughly disappointed. It was burned on one side, over cooked and dried out. The other items I've tried have been good though. The service has been horrible except on the last two visits a guy was our server. Stopped for lunch based on the reviews. While no doubt this is a great local bar, my husbands burger was nondescript, my marinara had an odd taste, and the fries/ravioli tasted like the oil used to fry them was old. A $21.20 lunch for two that was not satisfying at all. We won't be back. read more

A year ago a friend convinced me to give this place a try. I was less then impressed with cleanliness, food and the very snotty server. Again this same friend talked me into giving it a second try. If it's possible to feel filth I did as soon as I walked in. How the health department misses this place is a mystery. Side dishes all tasted canned and the service was once again horrible.
