Love this place! I highly recommend the blackened creole chicken sandwich and the Mississippi mud pie!

Lewis & Clark's has a great concept, beautiful venue, and a fun atmosphere that makes you excited to dine there. The service was excellent throughout our visit--friendly, attentive, and definitely the highlight of the experience. Unfortunately, the food didn't live up to the setting. In hindsight, we probably should have stopped at the appetizers, which were the most enjoyable part of the meal. The gumbo was especially disappointing--bland, overly thick, and chunky, lacking the depth of flavor you'd expect. The smoked ham and beans were equally underwhelming, with very little seasoning. In fact, nearly everything we ordered seemed overcooked and desperately needed salt and seasoning. The restaurant has a lot of potential because the atmosphere and service are so strong, but the kitchen needs to put much more focus on flavor and execution. We have only been here one other time and that was several, several years ago. Today, we decided to give it another try for lunch. We walked in and were seated immediately - in a back dining area. It was pretty dark and the decor could use some updating. I personally hate when tables are near the bathrooms and kitchen - and we were by both. They do have a decent menu with a variety of items. They do not serve draft beer, only cans and bottles. They do have a kids menu. I ordered the fettuccine and it was just fine, definitely lacked flavor, but was edible. My husband got the prime rib and he said his meal was good. I think overall it was a fine experience but there's tons of other places on Main Street I would probably choose first. The outdated decor and lack of lighting (at least in this one area) sort of made it a bleak experience. read more

My granddaughter and I were hunting for Jellycat stuffies and stopped at Lewis & Clark to refuel. She had chicken fingers and fries. I had white chili with bread pudding to go. Everything was delicious and the service was excellent. Loved the friendly staff and the ambience. read more

Back today for a warm meal on such a cold day. First of all, Saint Charles has done an amazing job of cleaning Main Street and the sidewalks. Entryway to the restaurant was completely clear. Inside warm and cozy. We did a salad sandwich lunch along with an appetizer, the spinach artichoke dip. Everything was tasty. Service was excellent . Can't wait to go back again!! read more

Visited old St. Charles and took a walk to Lewis and Clark's (L&C) restaurant. Located on 3 floors L&C offers a great experience for lunch or dinner with reasonable prices. We stopped for lunch and seated quickly. Our server was quick to greet us and take our order and provide the special of the day. It was St. Patrick's Day weekend and was full of patrons enjoying the upcoming celebration. We went with the Reuben and basic cheeseburger and both were very good. We were consistently topped off on beverages. Great service made our meal enjoyable. L&C can accommodate large groups but recommended calling ahead. Parking isn't a challenge and can enjoy a nice stroll window shopping on Main Street. Lewis and Clark's was a great time and look forward to visiting again in the near future. read more

Happy Hour visit and it was enjoyable. They have happy hour from 3-7 pm in the bar area and the beef nachos are tasty and plentiful, loaded with beef , beans and cheese. Spicy potato skins were loaded with shredded chicken which was just spicy enough and plentiful of cheese and enough to share.The bar area is a very comfy environment and the service was great. read more

Awesome views with great service for a bar/restaurant right on Main Street. My husband had a pretty good chicken sandwich with some stellar fries. I went with the soup of the day, a clam chowder that largely resembled Campbell's canned version and I got half of a eggplant sandwich, which was super misleading as they had two slivers of eggplant cleverly used as the bread and stuffed with 5 inches of spinach. I would call it a spinach sandwich not an eggplant sandwich. I would be open to other things, but my combo wasn't a winner. read more

One of our favorite restaurants !! My go to is the steamed veggie salad with grilled chicken. The veggies are perfectly steamed, nice crispness to them and hot. The chicken is juicy and flavorful all over a bed of lettuce. All the food is delicious, we"ve never had a bad dish!! The bloody Mary's are not thick and heavy, they are perfectly spiced and tasty!! Two story restaurant that I've always been wanting to try. Open for lunch and dinner, lots of menu options for every diet. Server was super friendly and happy to help. We just left the Lewis & Clark Restaurant in St. Charles, MO on May 24th at 3pm. We are a family of 5 who ordered 2 kids meals, 1 sandwich and 2 wraps. We waited well over 45 minutes for our food, that never arrived! When I told the manager that we needed to leave without our food, he did NOTHING to help our situation! But he definitely charged us for our one drink!!!! His behavior was beyond embarrassing. If you are the Owner, you should find a new Manager that's passionate about your restaurant and its visitors! This restaurant is on Main St. in St. Charles. It was nice to sit outdoors on the balcony. The venue displays a historic feel. The food was good and the service was fine. I had the blacken chicken with salad for lunch and a piece of cheesecake for dessert. We really enjoyed sitting outdoors which made our afternoon taking in some sun. Had lunch here with mom and daughter. We were seated on the open air porch. Our server was friendly and the atmosphere was nice. I had salad and 1/2 club sandwich, mom had salad and soup and my daughter had kids chicken tenders. The kids chicken tenders was a generous portion. Club sandwich was excellent as was the salad. Incredible service, always incredible food. You can't beat the location! Their menu is huge, you will always find something you like. If you're somebody who likes to try something different every time, this is your place! I return for the eggplant stack. It's always perfect, filling, and you can't beat that dill dip that it comes with. If you're OK with stairs, ask for the upper level balcony seating for an incredible view of downtown Main Street while you dine. read more

This is a nice little gem right in the heart of Main Street. This place is 3 stories tall with seating in all three levels. Both the second and first floor were inside seating while the third appeared to be only outside. Our waitress was extremely friendly and helpful. She was very personable and approachable. She was quick to assist us with everything we needed and I truly appreciate it. Now our food, I got the burger and it was filled with so many amazing flavors. For the price it was a steal. Honestly I would come back to have their burger again. Overall if you're looking for a unique dining experience while enjoying a beautiful view, then this is your place! We were able to walk there from our hotel but I'm not sure how difficult parking would be for this restaurant. Overall I would recommend this restaurant. read more

Group of 15 ladies & our server was Michael & he's amazing & kept all orders straight! For large group he provided excellent, prompt attention to all our orders! We all paid separately & no confusion on bills even skipped 18% tip to allow us to tip as we preferred. Food was great, I got white chili & half club sandwich both were excellent & filling! We called last minute for a reservation at 12 people. They were hesitant because they had a lot of reservations, but they were very easy-going and told me they would let me know after confirming if it was OK. They did end up calling as long as they would accommodate us, which I thought was great, because I really want above and beyond even though they were going to be busy that evening. They were more than accommodating and very nice. One of the employees let me put my friends birthday basket on an unused table. The customer service was superb and Clayton was our server. I will highly recommend Clayton and definitely coming back and specifically asking for him because he was so nice and making jokes the entire time. Clayton was also constantly checking on us and making sure we were good with everything. A few of our friends made changes to their order and he was super patient and understanding never once seemed frustrated. The food was excellent and everything came out as ordered. The wings are a little more on the spicy side but definitely great to order. The potato wedges were also incredible. The nachos were a huge hit and we're demolished in less than five minutes. The staff and the views are the best here. The vegetarian options are very limited but it was excellent for a nice lunch with my family. Overall this is a perfect spot to come if you are looking for a sweeping view with the river (sit up on the second floor!) and relax and have a chat with a quiet atmosphere. The food is good, very American and traditional, nothing super crazy but overall what we were looking for. The building has steps no elevator and I know the first floor does have seating so it is accessible but the options and views are limited. If only they had more vegetarian choices. read more

First time here and First of all, their Breckenridge Vanilla Stout is a rare gem! We arrived around 5pm friday, wanted to sit outside, balcony, waited only 5 minutes and our table was ready, great! I ordered eggplant parm. It was crunchy, I like it. But I think they could have made better tomato sauce. All food came a little too cold, not sure why. Alfredo sauce on the pasta was cold as well. Garlic bread was tasty though. Felt like they rushed a little. But I think they can do better next time. read more
