Pinchers rarely disappoints. Nice casual seafood joint. We go for the conch fritters which are great and not everyone can make them right. The only complaint I have is the way they make shrimp tacos. They top them like regular beef tacos instead of the slaw/cabbage style like at other establishments. Overall a great place plus bogo drinks and kids eat free! read more

You can ask the staff to sit in an isolated spot preferably near the left side if the restaurant when you walk in. Get the GARLIC BUTTER SAUCE it's $3 extra but totally worth it. Tonight I had the worst crab cake I've ever had. I ordered take out tonight; a crab cake sandwich with fries and slaw. I cut the crab cake in half and all I saw was filling; barely any crab. It was very disappointing. When I bit into it, it tasted like stove top stuffing. For nearly a $20 meal, I would expect some "meat" in my crab cake. I had to pick through my crab cake to find pieces of crab meat. This is not a place I would revisit nor recommend. read more

This restaurant is located in the Shoppes at Wiregrass. Most of the other Pinchers are in cities closer to the water but glad to have a Pinchers in Wesley Chapel. It's a spacious restaurant with a lot of seating. Good family friendly restaurant. They have a great deal though, from 3 to 6 on weekdays happy hour food specials. And 2 for 1 beers. Oysters, Clams, Shrimp, Wings Multiples of 6=$.99 each And their oysters are actually excellent, I'm a bit of an oyster snob, I like them salty and hearty and these oysters certainly didn't disappoint. Also had the hot shrimp which is peel and eat which was very tasty with a little kick. The crab Rangoon appetizer was delicious and you can tell they put a lot of crab in their Rangoon. The only thing was the grouper platter which was overcooked and a bit chewy in my opinion but you do get a good portion size. I ordered it grilled. I tried this place out on a late Friday night. The place is fairly big, so there wasn't a wait at all - which is great because it's hard to find a dine-in restaurant at Wiregrass mall where you don't have to wait for a table during weekend dinner times. When walking in, we were greeted by the hostess and she sat us right away. Once we sat down...we sat down for a longgg time (waiting for a server, waiting on server to come back to order, and waiting for the food). I don't know if they were short-staffed that night, but we waited for about 15 mins. for a server to even come greet our table. We almost walked out before the server came but we were super hungry so we stayed put. The server was very nice and gave me recommendations on what to try since it was my first time here. The menu has some good selections for seafood entrees and the portions are good but the food is pretty basic - there isn't anything that stands out to me as being a Pinchers specialty. The food is more on the greasy side but if you love fries, then you're in luck, because they load the entrees with a huge side of fries (if that's your side option). One of the entrees we ordered was the Grilled Gulf Grouper sandwich, which was instead brought out as a Fried Gulf Grouper dinner platter which the server nicely apologized and so we just requested to add a bun to the plate instead of having to take it back for a Grilled Grouper sandwich. I'm open to trying this place out again - but not anytime soon, especially on weekend nights. read more

I have been here a couple of times since it's in Wiregrass Mall which is close to my home. They have both indoor and outdoor seating plus a bar inside. The decor is nautical and Maryland themed with lots of quirky signs and beach things on the walls. They cover the tables in brown paper (get messy!). Like all of the restaurants at Wiregrass, this place can get busy on the weekends, especially when there is a Farmer's Market or special event. It is good for kids though because it's very casual, loud and there's no worry about spilling things. Also, there is plenty of room between tables for strollers or high chairs in most areas of the restaurant. The menu is loaded up with plenty of crabs, clams, shrimp. There are also several options with grouper (YUM!). Much of the menu features fried items, but there are some you can order blackened or grilled. I have not yet had the soft shell crab, but I think I need to try it next time I visit. Sounds like a pretty tasty dish. On my most recent visit, my friend and I enjoyed the cheesy crab dip as an appetizer. Very very very cheesy and super rich. I ordered the grouper nuggets which were very tasty and the sauce that came with it was flavorful. The grouper was super tender and the portion size was good for the price. My friend had the lump crab cake with slaw and garlic mashed potatoes. Just the right amount of food. What I will say about the food is that most of the options are fried and if you don't like seafood you will be limited to a chicken sandwich, burger or a salad. They do have coupons in the area Valpaks most of the time or when you sign up for their email club. The 2-4-1 all day happy hour is pretty good which includes drafts (includes Jai Alai!), wines, wells and margaritas. Oysters, clams, shrimp and wings are 75 cents each between 3-6pm. read more

While it might have a few locations in the Tampa area, this place feels like a Mom and Pop restaurant in the best possible ways. Beachy/Hooters-esque decor suits the area, but it's always inviting and never off-putting. Portions are large and cooked to order with fresh seafood being their specialty. This was our first time to eat at a Pinchers. They have multiple locations but, this one was closest to us. We went with friends and got a very nice table outside. Our server, Reed, was very attentive and came right away to get our drink order. Since drinks were 2 for 1 we couldn't resist. Ordered their private label draft. It's similar to my favorite, Blue Moon. They were iced cold and delicious. We passed on appetizers and ordered. I got the Oysters and my wife got the Mahi-Mahi sandwich. Our friends got the Grouper and Soft-shell Crab. Everything we got was fresh, hot and delicious. Our server keep checking to make sure everything was satisfactory and to get us refilled drinks. I was impressed that the Manager came to our table to ensure we were satisfied. If you like seafood you will really like this place. We can't wait to return. read more

We visited the Coral Springs location and we loved our meals. I had the broiled scallops with green beans and coleslaw. The scallops and green beans were so tasty and tender. Go here for the oysters. They're fresh, they're imperfect with size, but similar, perfect in salinity, sometimes with a little sand or a lot, but try them. As many times as I've come to Pinchers, the oysters, fresh, raw, on the half shell with lemon, horseradish, hot sauce or however you like them, are the draw. You will see numerous tables ordering them. Go here for the fresh fish. I like mine broiled to have it with the natural juices. I order Mahi Mahi and Grouper. The seasoning can be weak, but I prefer fresh fish like theirs with just salt anyway. As of right now, tilefish is a special and I plan on coming back to try that. You get a squeeze bottle each of tartar sauce and cocktail sauce when your server arrives. These are brought in and out from the refrigerators as they feel it need be. Both are good. The house hot sauce is spicy, a little thick, and good. Today I came for another visit-one of many, and came with my 16 year old daughter. Trey was our server, was very friendly, and on top of everything. I strongly recommend him. He explained the new menu items. The servers are allowed to try them on a regular basis. We ordered appetizers, and they came out in rapid speed by the kitchen and other servers, like a well oiled machine. I mentioned to Trey I may have eaten an item I'm allergic to, and he checked on me frequently. He also checked and double checked with the kitchen to see what ingredients were in the appetizer. My daughter and I ordered raw oysters, peel and eat shrimp, hot crab and cheese dip with no-fresh garlic bread and awesome muti-colored chips, and Pinchers Claws, which are blue crab claws made in garlic, seasonings, white wine. The oysters were their usual umami, the crab and cheese dip was okay but heavy. The sauce on the blue crab claws is so intensely heavy with oil and salt, you can barely taste the garlic. There isn't a whole lot at Pinchers that is consistent. Snow crab can be absolutely crap, especially for the $26 price tag, or be okay. Blue crabs can be very tiny to the point where you wonder why those crabs were plucked out of the ocean to begin with, but the Maryland blue crabs appear to be solid and good sellers, but super expensive. My hand is the size of an average 3rd grader's and on my wedding anniversary, the blue crabs were the same size. The shrimp can be nice and plump, but when I came in today, the shrimp were awful. Some tore apart and were mush. Fried fish on Fridays is just okay according to my relatives who have had it. The fried key lime pie can be super doughy or can be super fantastic. One exception is the hush puppies. They're always the same. My father in law's girlfriend says they're better than in New Orleans. I suggest the fresh fish, hush puppies, and oysters. read more

We love seafood and Pinchers is close for us, we have been their twice in the past year and we usually sit at the bar. The last two times we have been there , there is a musty/ like a old garbage smell around the bar area, and there were fruit flies around the bar well area. We went back hoping it was just one off occurrence, well it wasn't. It needs to be addressed. We won't be back for a bit , hoping it will be taken care of. The service was ok. However, the main purpose of visiting a restaurant, is the food. The crabcakes were mostly filler. Very little crab meat. The hush puppies were floury and doughy. No taste of cornmeal. The half order of grouper was overcooked to the point where it was not flaky, Almost like toast. The fries were the best part of the meal. To the restaurant's credit, a person who we assume was the manager came out to speak with us. He removed the crabcakes from our check and comped us some drink tickets.
