I was nervous at first because the last place I went to hit the nail on the head and it became a favorite of mine HOWEVER I can gladly say that the tacos were great and the staff was very friendly. Went there for a date with my wife and I was just blown away. My only two complaints were that I could smell a fowl odor nearby but it was made by an animal and that's out of their control, my other complaint is that I do wish refills were free especially with what I paid. When you open the to go box, the burritos appear quite large. But the main ingredient is coarsely chopped lettuce. There was no cheese, a few pieces of diced tomato, and a smattering of chicken chopped so finely that you'd be hard pressed to identify it as poultry. This place is my go to taco place for my wife, and my nacho place for me. The people here are very warm and friendly, as it's a family owned and operated business, and if you go on the weekend, this nice man plays the drums live while playing over a song (to raise money for charity). Initially, we had doubts about the place, but we decided to give it a try anyway. I approached the window to order and Bryan greeted me. He helped me choose the best tacos on the menu and I ended up ordering two Chicken Tacos, one Shrimp Taco, and one Fish Taco. While we waited for our order, we enjoyed the live music. When the food arrived, we started with the Chicken Tacos, and they were good. However, our favorite was the Fish Taco, which was absolutely delicious. The fish was cooked to perfection and it was the highlight of our meal. Overall, I would highly recommend Taco Amigo to anyone. Stopped here en route to Scream-a-geddon at the recommendation of a friend. It did not disappoint! It's a little kiosk off the road but there is parking where you can pull in and some tables to eat outside. It definitely looks like it's been there a long time. The person behind the counter had some recommendations that we tried boy was it delicious! Highly recommend popping over here if you want some real tacos. All of the different meats were juicy and seasoned perfectly. Not much else to say except go eat the food. It was tasty! The burrito was huge! Definitely shareable if you're not crazy hungry. Been wanting to try this place for a couple years and every time I go buy it on Gall Boulevard in Zephyrhills. I was in the area and decided to stop by and I wasn't disappointed. I got the 4 taco special with a free soda and got two steak, one fish and one shrimp and they were all pretty decent street tacos. I also got the Flautas meal which I are one, but I wanted to take it home for lunch tomorrow. That was also very good. My rating needs another visit to lock in exactly how I feel. Had takeout of a number of items. The fish taco was small, so you'll need more than one of those to actually get the flavor going. The steak burrito was really good...nice and large with plenty of filling and meat. Only recommendation is not to take it out of the wrapper because they don't cap the end, so everything started falling out. The soup was not good as a to-go item. First it was so hot that the lid melted. Then the top fell off in the car and the soup sloshed everywhere. Lastly it was much too salty. Ended up throwing it out after two spoon fulls. Luckily soup should never control the overall meal vibe and the main food was much better. This place usually packs em in, so I will need to visit a second time now that I know what's good. Taco Amigo now has a physical location in Zephyrhills. It's a really cute vibrant location with walk up order or call ahead and a good number of picnic tables that are outside. I did notice that the people working are not wearing masks. That was a bit concerning in this day and age. I ordered the queso birria tacos. That's the reason I came here. They did not disappoint, but they are sooo good. They are 2.75 each and two was filling for me. I also ordered two tamale. They were pretty good. I dipped them in the sauce that the birria tacos came with. My husband had the sopes which was pretty much tons of lettuce and the meat was a bit salty. After reading the reviews for this place, I was expecting a lot more than what I got. First of all, they only have corn tortillas, or at least when I went, that's what they said. I ordered two Pastor, one chicken, and one shrimp taco. The pastor was absolutely amazing! It tasted very authentic. As for the chicken, it tasted similar to a Taco Bell taco. The shrimp taco was not good either. The actual shrimp were good, but it has lettuce and tomato on top which make it taste dull. The Horchata here is also also not authentic. The service was great, and they have a lot of outdoor seating. With great consideration I am making this review. I ordered steak tacos. The corn tortillas they used were tough, hard to chew. The steak was full of grizzle/fat and the meat was overcooked. I had to use a ton of lime, hot sauce and sour cream to make it edible. My son had never ate there. I brought him because he said Taco Belle and I said Nooo. Let's go to an actual restaurant instead. Taco Amigo is an order at the window spot but they have a covered seating area with nice tables with bench seating to enjoy your food there if you can't wait to make it home. Staying in town for work and passed this place, had to try it! The food is phenomenal! Coming from Orlando we really don't have a lot of Mexican food, mostly Tex mex which is good but not amazing.
