The tacos really are that good. Everything is cooked to order and it is our go to place for tacos in Land O' Lakes.

She also had the strawberry margarita which was well made. With my soda, it came close to $60. The service was also excellent. They immediately gave us a large bowl of chips and salsa and the staff was very attentive. Ambiance was likewise great. There was a traveling mariachi band which would play your requests and a table side guacamole cart, which would make you a nice fresh bowl of guacamole! We even had some impromptu dancing brought about by the merry mariachi band. There was even a lady who will take a FREE souvenir photo for you. Some photos were extra but the free one wasn't bad at all. Overall, I would definitely come back. Highly recommended, 5 stars !

We arrived around 6:30 PM and weren't seated until well after 8:00. The restaurant had noted they weren't taking reservations due to the holiday, but you could join a waitlist upon arrival--which we did. What made it more frustrating was watching other large groups linger at their tables after finishing, leaving just one person behind to "hold" the spot while they went out to enjoy the festivities. Meanwhile, we saw smaller groups being seated, which made the wait feel even longer. Once we were finally seated, service started off a bit slow. It took some time for staff to come by, and when our food arrived, multiple servers were bringing out dishes without clear organization--walking around the table until someone claimed each plate. That said, the food itself was a highlight. I ordered the Chicken Quesadilla Fajita, which was delicious and a generous portion--enough for leftovers. I also tried the mango margarita; while it leaned more toward an orange flavor than mango, it was still enjoyable. The atmosphere was vibrant and fun, especially for Cinco de Mayo. There was lively music, colorful and creative wall art, and even a photo-op wall, which added to the experience. Parking, however, was another challenge--it was chaotic, with cars parked on curbs and anywhere they could fit. Overall, while the wait and initial service were frustrating, the food and atmosphere made it a memorable visit. I'd be willing to give it another try on a regular day to see how the experience compares--and to explore more of the menu, since everyone in our group enjoyed their meals.

Let me clarify first, our waiter deserves 5 stars and he was great…read more CHUY's: a Pathetic attempt at Mexican food The food is a 1 star though. Honestly, hands down the worst attempt at Mexican food I've ever had. This place honestly is a disgrace to Mexican food. The salsa was pathetic, no flavor and tasted like plain tomatoes. The second "salsa" we were told is a house favorite. It was literally a cold tomatillo ranch, gross. I got 2 ground beef enchiladas with Tex mex and a chili relleno. The enchiladas were not good but were also not the worst thing ever. The chili relleno however, tasted like a frozen pack of TGI Fridays mozzarella sticks from the store. No joke, you could taste the freezer burn on them. The beans were watery and had no flavor. The rice, you could easily tell has been sitting in a fridge at least over night. It was dry, hard, and also had no flavor. It amazes me these restaurant owners want to have a successful business, but insist on cutting corners and not making fresh food. Your food sucks and I won't be back. I wouldn't even let my dogs eat this food. Harsh huh? Simple solution, make your own food. If you want a successful restaurant, make your own tortillas, cook your own beef, make your sauce fresh everyday, shred fresh cheese, STOP CUTTING CORNERS. Any person with a good palette can clearly tell everything has either been sitting in a freezer or a fridge over night. The ambiance is also quirky and I'm not sure what themes they're going with. Woods, bricks, dogs on the wall, 90's color schemes, it's just not it. It takes me 5 minutes to make great food at home, I'll never understand why restaurants can't do the same. This is the type of place you see on a Gordon Ramsay show that he tries to save. My taste buds will never forgive me for eating here, don't make the same mistake.

You can order right at the restaurant, or you can use the kiosk, which was great because we didn't have to wait in line. After going through the menu, we ordered Tacos De Birria, Taco Gobernador, Chips and Salsa and Burrito De Polo. We took our seats after ordering. We got our chips and salsa first. We started with chips and salsa, and they were a good start to dinner both tasted good For the other food items we had to wait for 15-20 minutes before we got our dinner order. The Birria tacos were delicious! We all really enjoyed them. The burrito was also good, and it had a great amount of food, enough for one person. The Taco Gobernador with Shrimp was also delicious, and the tacos at the restaurant were great for dinner. We all loved our dinner at Los Chapos Tacos. There was a bit of a wait, maybe 20-25 minutes, but the food was great.
