Have been craving some Colombian food since in Georgia there is nothing and was excited to eat here while visiting family. We'll it did not disappoint at all. I don't know what happened here. Perhaps the owners are out of town. I really hope it didn't change owners because everything was noticeably different. The ladies working were not familiar at all. They also were not friendly and helpful. I was pretty sad. It did make me feel like the previous owners were gone bc either one were there. I hope they are still around and eventually when I come back, I can update this review. We ordered the Hawaiian hot dog and the arepa with beef and chicken. Something was missing. Also we ordered two empanadas. I like their green chimmichuri sauce with it, and as soon as I asked for it, she walked away and never came back. Even the pic on the outside sign shows them with that sauce, but nope never got it. They also have their usual Colombian drinks which are Postobon and Colombiana. The service was good everyone was super friendly and helpful. We had the beef empanadas- crispy and made to order. No soggy crust. For dinner we ordered the bandeja paisa - yum! I'm Colombian and those empanadas were a joke. They were full of potatoes and very little carne. The chorizo was bland and flavorless. The service was a struggle. The lady gave me a can of manzana when I asked for a Coke. The ambiance was a bit strange and off. I definitely won't be coming back to this place. What a waste of money. Oh by the way. The sodas are priced at $2.75 on their menu board inside the restaurant and the lady charges you 25 cents extra. I was not about to dispute 50 cents but I thought that was strange. Incredibly friendly and fast service. Got the Birria Tacos with their house sauce and salsa verde and they were outstanding. Only 3 tacos for $10.99 which is a little pricey when you break it down per taco but they were stuffed to the brim. There is also a sit down restaurant right next to the food truck. Rather tricky to find. As it's within the same footprint as the gas station, don't be discouraged by the location or perception. Restaurant was newly remodeled and clean, no greasy or off putting smells. Just the smell of delicious Colombian food wafting through the air. They are open very late so if you're passing through well after conventional hours, skip the convenience store and fast food and have a home cooked, well balanced meal! This place is incredible! The food is extremely delicious, tastes like I am in Colombia. The ingredients are fresh, and even though it's from a food truck, the food is not oily like most other food trucks. The Burgers are so satisfying, with a mix of flavors and the cheese + sauces they use really make the difference. The arepa rellena is also very good, it allows you to sample both their beef and chicken in one bite, the arepa is perfectly crispy as it should be and the fries in the side are equally as good The arepa with leche condensada (condensed milk) is amazing! It sounded weird at first but it was a surprisingly great mix of sweet and salty. They just renovated their seating area to include a roof and lights and it looks really nice. Eating here makes me feel like I am in Colombia. He speaks Spanish & apparently had asked staff on one of his many visits. Regardless of what you order, don't expect not to wait for your order; in this case waiting is good. Orders are individually prepared, not simply pre-packaged & awaiting a patron. There is no paper menu or menu printed on the side of the truck. You must scan the box on the truck to download the menu-- in Spanish & in English. (See pics.) I had some questions of staff, but neither friendly woman spoke English. I even had to point to the text of the food item I wanted on one woman's copy of the Spanish menu while I referred to the English menu on my phone. But it all worked out! This restaurant is located in the rear of a gas station property (it has its own entrance). However, don't be put off by that. The establishment is attractive, pretty new and very clean. The staff were very attentive and friendly. Most importantly, this was the best Colombian food my wife and I have had in the Tampa area. The place specializes in typical street food. I had the Arepa Rellena and my wife had the Arepa Montanera. Both were outstanding. We also got some empanadas which were also perfectly prepared with the perfect amount of flavor and crispiness. The rest of our party got the Colombian hamburgers which are very different than the typical American burger. They loved them. All of this washed down with ice-cold Colombian beer! This place has been open for over 3 months. It is on the side of a gas station on Sr54. It is small however there are about 6 tables indoor and a few more outdoor covered by umbrellas. The service was prompt, friendly and the ladies explained me some of the entrees I asked about. The restaurant is very clean and plenty of light. I ordered an Arepa with pork, chicken plantain, chorizo and of course queso. The arepa was a decent size, I really got full almost at the end but it was sooo good that I had to finished it! It comes with fries as a side dish but to be honest I don't think thats a good match. I didn't touch them. The order came with two small containers of sauce, I ordered the garlic one and the server suggested the House one, which at the end I preferred it. Kind of cilantro, mayo and garlic. Overcharged and deceptive pricing. The order was Special burger $12.50 extra French fries $2.50 Mango Juice $2.50 The order came to $21.50. Once our order was ready and I realized that the stated price totaled $17.50, and while I am new to living in Florida, I couldn't imagine a 23% tax. I inquired with the cashier. She smiled, turned the menu over to the Spanish language version and pointed that the same burger was $13.50. Which I can only assume that the unaccounted for $3 (or 17.3% surcharge ) is a restaurant and gringo tax. Asked for a cup of water with the order and didn't receive one. Also was not given a receipt.
