This week for my coffee shop Saturday, I chose Macondo because it was later in the day and they have empanadas. Macondo is located in the Grove at Wesley Chapel shopping center across from Old Navy. The service is wonderful and it's super cute inside. There is also outdoor seating. I ordered an Iced Coconut Latte, 3 empanadas and a pastry. The latte was perfect, I wanted a second one. We ordered two different types of Empanadas, 1 Argentine Ham & Cheese, 1 Colombian Chicken & 1 Colombian Beef. They were delicious!! We also ordered Alfajores, a delicious soft cookie. Came in for a quick visit with a friend. The inside was packed with customers which I love to see. The menu is full but for me a little overwhelming to order from. I decided to order a Spanish latte from a smaller menu also a bacon egg and cheese empanada to go. The latte I got was good, it was perfectly sweet but I wish I had more of it. Unfortunately they only have one size for iced and I felt like in 3 sips it was gone. The breakfast empanada was also pretty good I loved the verde salsa its paired with. Coffee shops like these just make my heart sing. A cozy, well-decorated and adorable Colombian coffee shop. They have a giant menu, which literally takes up a whole wall behind their coffee bar. So you can kind of get whatever you're in the mood for- a basic breakfast with eggs & sausage, açaí or mixed green bowls, paninis, wraps, salads, empanadas (of course), smoothies, avocado toast, and more. I got a simple breakfast plate that had eggs, potatoes, bacon, and sausage and it was divine. Something about that mix just worked so well. Along with my spanish latte, it was such a nice morning stop. It can get really busy here, and when it's busy it's quite loud. The food was really good, but unfortunately the customer service at the register did not match the experience. The cashier was rude, didn't greet us or make us feel welcome, and seemed to rush us while we were ordering. It was our first time there, and no one took the time to explain the menu or help us understand our options. We also ordered coffee to enjoy there, but it was served in a to-go cup without asking us. However, I do want to mention that the girl who brought our food to the table was very kind and attentive, which we really appreciated. This coffee shop is a good place a for doggie and friend dates. Their patio is a good size and it is covered for when it rains and you can be in the shade. I requested a mango cold brew bc I saw it on their Instagram. They had no clue what I was talking about so I showed them. They said it was not available. I ordered a coconut cold brew and then afterwards asked for more coconut syrup. It was ok. I ordered Colombian empanadas which are fried and made with corn. Argentinian ones are also available. Those are baked. I didn't like my chicken empanadas this time. Even with the green sauce, it didn't have much flavor. I've had these empanadas at Colombian restaurants. Coffee is wonderful and makes the wait worth it. Normally that is all we do is get coffee.. Today we decided to try a couple of the breakfast options, we had the Iron Man and Fabio's favorite. On the Iron Man the eggs were really good. The toast which is a partial piece of a baguette was very crispy. the potatoes while cooked right had no flavor whatsoever. The bacon was one of those that you could tell was cooked earlier and then sat and reheated, so the texture was a little weird and the sausage is like mini Polish sausages. On Fabio's favorite the eggs were cooked perfectly, they were a little much on the cheese you had to scrape it off to actually taste the pesto, which was a nice addition. The eggs were kind of flavorless, but they were cooked well which is hard to find anymore. It's kind of pricey for just okay food which is why the 3 stars read more

Stopped in this wonderful little breakfast place for the first time and was blown away by the yummy flavors! The staff is super friendly. You order at the counter. While seating is limited inside, just a few tables there are indoor and outdoor tables available. They make fresh squeezed orange juice. The avocado toast was a winner for me! Living in Wesley Chapel for the past 4 years, I felt it always lacked great restaurants and outings, which is a shame. However, this cozy little cafe sheds a little light. Despite many trips to Spectrum across the street and seeing this corner packed with customers, I never walked over until today when my neighbor wanted to get together over coffee. I googled "best cafes" and chose this location based on the reviews and pics. When we walked in, we were both taken aback by the cozy, cute decor and smart use of space that the owner put into this corner gem--and that was just the start. The taste of this coffee is wonderfully delicious, with so many different flavors hitting you at the same time. My friend had the cappuccino, and I had an Original Coldbrew with a drop of coconut milk. Wow. My friend was fixated on finding out what was in the coffee to give it such an amazing distinct taste, and I, who has never been impressed by coffee--whether it's Starbucks, Dunkin, Tim Hortons, Dutch Bros, Peets, etc.--was pretty impressed with its flavor. It was also less acidic than other brands. Since I was impressed with the coffee, I figured the food should be just as good--and it was. Warning for those doing carryout: -Online will allow you to order items and pay for them but may not be available at that location (make sure to check your order upon receiving it) -They did not have the guava pancakes, which online let us order and CHARGED us. We were not given any pancakes until we told them it was missing. They then informed us this location did not have those and offered to refund or give us GF pancakes. -Special Instructions also do NOT work (vegetarians/pescatarians or religious folk who do NOT eat pork, often ask that those items are not touching or are separated with parts of the order (so that other family members can still order and enjoy what they want) -Frustratingly, our side of bacon was lying on top of the omelette (the bacon was for another family member and we specifically asked to be put separate in the special instructions that apparently 'don't work'). We were really trying to communicate our order desires as kindly and clearly as possible. What really upset us (and put me over the edge) was, "per the lead cook" asked for the omelette back which was petty and made us feel like it was our fault. My anxiety also furrows... we worry that the bacon and omelette were separated and just returned back to us (which could make some of us really sick as we have not eaten these types of meat products in 15+ years). I am not saying that they did but it certainly makes you uneasy not knowing. We made the effort to communicate this in the instructions but then feel like we are to be blamed for their mistakes. -Positives: the blueberry pancakes, other food and coffee were good. -Tatiana and another gentleman were super nice (this is the ONLY reason for 2 stars as opposed to 1) , they did repeatedly apologize and ended up offering a gift card. WE GET IT but the lack of common courtesy with the cook was frustrating. The mistakes were on their side. The cook taking food back just didn't sit right; felt very petty and didn't allow us to have the reassurance that our food was remade rather than just separated. This place has the absolute greatest breakfast I've ever had in my life. My second day in a row here and i plan to make it a weekend tradition with my family. My only complaint is they better either get a bigger place or start making nasty food because this place is way too small to have food this delicious. once people catch on to this place the lines will be triple wrapped around the building. And the food came to our table quick. Oh and a side note, i absolutely love and appreciate that the music isn't obnoxiously loud and the place isn't freezing cold like every other restaurant in the entire Wesley chapel. Just north of the Container shopping and across from TJ Max and Old Navy, this is a perfect spot for a morning Joe, brunch or lunch. Today I enjoyed an indulgent iced vanilla latte with cinnamon as well as the avocado toast with eggs and prosciutto. My brunch was very fresh and I was happy with how everything was prepared. The eggs were over easy to medium. The avocado was sliced not mashed which I appreciated. The freshly made pesto was very bright and acidic. This little corner spot has the best coffee I've ever had!! Usually, coffee makes me jittery and then I crash after the initial energy boost ...but not here. Their coffee gives me steady energy without the crash, to the point I actually asked the owner what made it different. He explained that they source their beans from quality Colombian farms that don't overprocess the coffee, and you can really taste the difference. Their food is just as impressive, I love their egg sandwich on a croissant, and I recently tried their pistachio loaf bread, which was absolutely delicious.
