I came here for the first time on a Sunday afternoon, although there wasn't a lot of people my order took 25 mins to prepare. Seems like more people order for take out than to sit in. This establish has 4 tables inside and seating outside. Menu covers variety of Puerto Rican typical dishes. I will like to return and try something else from the menu. I'm not a fan of rice cooked with cumin or paprika so wasn't a fan of the arroz con guandule and The pork chops were salty.

So I tried this place months ago when they first opened and it wasn't bad but nothing to brag about. Tried it for the second time and I must say the actual food is pretty disappointing. Empanadas barely have any filling In them and the chicken filling is pretty bland. I tried the chicken empanadas previously which consisted more of a "pulled chicken," but this time around it was thick pieces of chopped chicken in an empanada which just isn't my preference for empanada filling. 3 stars though because the people working there are always so friendly and you cannot go wrong with their baked goods (pastries are actually delicious) Definitely would go back for pastries, not gonna try the empanadas and such anymore.

Wow! This place has some really good baked goods. The donut was perfect:donut to sugar ratio was spot on! The almond cake was VERY moist and smooth. It was lighter on sugar but still very flavorful. The chicken empanada had a good crunch and light flavors but still quite good. We enjoyed this visit and will definitely be back for the donuts!

For being a newly opened business at the Krates at the Grove, they were super unfriendly. I asked if they had any mallorca bread and or guava and cheese pastries in which they unpleasantly said no. It was on their Instagram, and which is why I came in the first place. I ordered the pan de sabao bread which is a sweet loaf bread to go. It wasn't anything special and what you buy at Winn Dixie and Walmart is better. Most likely won't be back.

All I got was a drink but it was fantastic. They were fast and friendly! Would be back.

Empty empanada. They forgot the filling!

Three stars mostly due to the pizza turnover (empanada) and the reaction of the representative when we called to request a refund. This is a pizza turnover that is supposed to be stuffed with the ingredients of a pizza. It's a pastry like shell that is stuffed. Ours came empty, with just the pastry shell and it seems that they brushed on a thin layer of pizza sauce. There was nothing else inside the pastry. When we called to request a refund the woman saidthat they had never had this happen before and then was defensive saying that she doesn't understand how that was possible because they come from the main store bakery in town and country. When asked if they were indeed going to refund us for the empty pastry she put us on hold and said she would have to check and see. In my mind this is unacceptable customer service. Wwe spent $45 on our order so why would I quibble over one item for $2.99 except for the absurdity that it was absolutely an empty pastry. Good customer service involves thanking the client for bringing it to their attention, apologizing, making it right with a refund, or offering to give you another one the next time you come to the store. In the end after she put us on the long hold and tried to defend the empty shell, she said we would see a refund on my credit card in a few days. Upon receipt of that refund I will update this review. If however, we do not get the refund I will also update read the review with a one star rating. It's a shame because the Pinchos were absolutely delicious as was the cheese pastry and the Graya doughnut! Had it not been for the empty pastry and the poor customer service I would've given this establishment five stars! Update: Update. They gave me a $2.51 credit for a refund in a $2.99 Pizza empanada that they gave us empty. I guess they figured we owe them $.48 for the pastry part of the empanada that they did give us! . They also didn't include my .20 tax. So they lost a client for .68 cents. Reducing to One star for terrible customer service.

Fried Pork Skewers / Pinchos de cardo frito BBQ SAUCE

So the 4 star is for the chicken skewers AKA ( PINCHOS) . That what I ordered along with pork skewers .. the PINCHOS , which are usually BBQ ON A GRILL. I believe we're fried as they tasted a bit fried crispy . The marinate on the chiken was more enjoyable then the pork , I'm supposed cause PR marinated pork usually TASTE wsy better . This one was ok not my favorite. It was a beautiful sunny day, so I decided to eat outside under the chairs and tables outside under an umbrella with some salsa music ambience. If you like, spicy food asked for hot sauce . The barbecue sauce was decent. It taste like something I bought a supermarket. But overall I give this experience and 8 out of 10.

Puerto Rican at the KRATE. This has to be one of the largest indoor seating options I've seen thus far at KRATE. I started with a nice pina colada to enjoy after getting out of that Florida heat. The perfect treat with a cherry on top. I tried a variety of empanadas which were nicely filled and freshly made to order. For my meal I had the fried pork chops. This brought back memories of what my Puerto Rican mom would make for dinner for my family. Nice and fried but not dried out. The arroz y gandules were fresh and not sticky. My favorite were the large tostones on the side. I do wish there was a garlic sauce to accompany them. I got the mayoketchup as a substitute.

Carne frita. Arroz con gandules. Tostones.

We had the empanadas. They were pretty good and, for food truck prices, were not too far off the mark.

First of I had no idea it's in a really nice food mall place where restaurants all are places in these large crates that offer outdoor dining for guests. They have parking available that surrounds all restaurants. They have indoor seating in Mojo Grill as well as outdoor. We decided to order a build your own bowl with steak, cilantro rice, slaw, and tostones. A kids meal with chicken tenders with rice and beans, a cubano, and a steak and shrimp sandwich with a side of fries with queso. My bowl was DELICIOUS and they portions are big! I've never had such a flavorful slaw that was balanced with lime and felt so fresh. The herbs in it was such a great combination with flavor I seriously could eat a huge bowl of that. The steak was cooked perfectly and had this almost chimichurri sauce on top made up of herbs that was delicious. On top of the steak they had pickled purple o ions which were wow! The bowl came with this light green sauce which I also could have a gallon of. That sauce was also very delicious with the tostones. The tostones were incredible and meaty and crispy. I can't say enough how delicious that bowl was. My daughter had the kids meal and that is a great value item. They get a lot of food and a drink of choice which was a passion fruit lemonade drink that had a punch with flavor. My son ended up devouring the steak and shrimp sandwich. He said it was the best sandwich he's had. (Coming from a 13 year old) The cubano was good I haven't had any other cubanos so it's tricky to compare it with something else but between both sandwiches the steak and shrimp was the winner. Service over all was great! They brought the food right out to us and I truly look forward to coming here again. Whoever lives near this restaurant is so lucky!
