    Cuban sandwiches

I met my daughter for lunch at Latin Twist Cafe. They are known for their Cuban fare and did not disappoint !! The staff behind the counter were very friendly and helpful. We both ordered Cuban Sandwiches - very tasty & tender pork, ham, Swiss cheese, pickle, and mustard pressed in Cuban bread with butter. One of the better Cuban sandwiches I've ever had.

What a happy accident! Driving home from Tampa and was looking for a place with açaí bowls. This place was next door and sounded good. Positive reviews and warm welcome made us stay and order. Plenty of seating with Latin music and self-serve drinks. They offer house made drinks as well as ethnic drinks. We split the Cuban sandwich which was quite possibly the best I've ever had. Perfect crunch on the bread and the meat was tender with lots of flavor. And it was HUGE! We both had plenty with our half. We shared empanadas - one chicken and one beef. The chicken filling was my favorite. Overall, great experience. Wish it was closer to home!

This place has the most amazing food. I am hooked on their pork, perfectly seasoned and tender. I also always get the plantains as well. And the rice and beans are perfectly cooked with so much flavor. I always have enough for 2-3 meals when I order this. It's located in a strip mall on Bruce B downs in Wesley Chapel. The restaurant itself is intimate, I usually get it to go and eat at home.

Pernil, white rice and red beans... absolutely horrible! Such in a rush to pack this and they forgot the plantains.

I ordered several meals from here. Pernil, rice, red beans, yuca, ham sandwich, not sure why, but food gave me and spouse straight up diarrhea! How disappointing!

    Combo fajitas

This is a really wonderful place. Not our first visit but it had been a while. We ordered a Cuban sandwich and some combo fajitas. The Cuban sandwich was perfectly presented, crispy outside and had very fresh ingredients. The combo fajitas came out super hot, fresh tortillas, and they also brought a side of very fresh sour cream. Perfectly cooked, seasoned and delicious. Drinks are self serve and that works fine. If you like Cuban food, definitely eat here!

A taste of pulled pork! Very delicious!

This place has a great Cuban sandwich. The best I have had in the Wesley Chapel area. Their empanadas have a well seasoned filling too.

Seriously hands down one of the best I've had in a while. The place has a line out the door for a reason. Weekends they have live DJ playing salsa and all the Latin music we all love. Check it out.

The sorrullito de maíz (fried corn fritter with cheese inside for my Anglo friends) is always a favorite. Just the right amount of sweet fried perfectly. As it was dinner time I couldn't get my favorite breakfast items so I went hardcore: Fried pork chops, white rice and Tostones. I was very pleasantly surprised at how nice the presentation was for essentially a non moving food truck. The food looked great and tasted even better. The rice was a bit hard but besides that all was perfect. My wife had grilled chicken with arroz con gandules (yellow rice with pigeon peas) and maduros. Also was a hit. And best part was there was more than enough for left overs. So happy to know we have really good PR food close by. The service was ok but I guess that's the express part. Courteous but quick. It's in Krate so seating is outside and depending on weather and crowd; could be crazy but always a good time.

I had the BEST Cuban sandwich I have ever had. I could tell the pork was freshly slow roasted and their homemade dill pickles were an excellent compliment to the sandwich. The Ropa Vieja was my go-to order, and I genuinely loved this place. Unfortunately, today's visit was a completely different experience & I damn near thought I went to an entirely different establishment. From the moment I walked in, something felt off. The atmosphere was noticeably different, and I don't even recall hearing music. The young man behind the counter seemed to be looking for ingredients, which should have been my first sign to turn around and choose somewhere else. Instead, I stayed because I trusted my previous experiences. This time, I ordered the Cuban nachos and 2 chicken empanadas. When I opened the tray in my car, I was honestly shocked. The nachos were simply chips, melted cheese, and cilantro aioli. There were no jalapeños, no pickled onions, and no fresh cilantro, which were all toppings that are supposed to come with the dish. I never asked for any of them to be excluded. The empanada was another disappointment. The small empanadas they used to serve were delicious. Now, they've been replaced with much larger empanadas containing a filling that tasted more like a generic "chicken-like" mixture than the quality I remembered. I'm genuinely saddened by this experience because this used to be my go-to spot whenever I was craving Ropa Vieja. After six previous visits, I had every reason to expect the same quality I had always enjoyed. I don't know if there has been a change in management, recipes, or staff, but something has definitely changed. Unfortunately, based on today's experience, I won't be returning. It's disappointing to lose a place I once rated five stars and happily recommended.
