Got 3 steak tacos, one nachos, two steak burritos and they gave me two salsas. I put in a Uber eats order and asked in the order for extra salsa. I would say that two salsas is barely enough for one burrito. Much less all the food tonight. Unfortunately I'm even more disappointed because the steak is not seasoned at all, it's so bland! It doesn't taste marinated at all, or seasoned. Not even salt. The pico they used in the burrito is mushy as if it's 4 days old. Nothing even tastes salted. Im really disappointed. The food here is basically Cuban food put in a burrito. This is not authentic at all. And...they forgot a lot of our food tonight. They left out a tostada, churro, chips and salsa but we paid $85 for everything. It took an hour for them to make our food and the crema was curdled. read more

Why 4 stars? Because I enjoyed my experience here overall. --- --- --- I was recently in the area and noticed that Azul Taco had great ratings. About a week later, I happened to be nearby again and wanted to stop by. I called ahead because it was Easter Sunday and confirmed that they were, indeed, open. We were happy that they were! I had my eyes on the steak burrito, but then that's what my wife ended up ordering. Because I knew I'd be getting a few bites of hers anyway, I changed it up and just tried a few tacos: steak, carnitas, shrimp and fish. I also ordered us the Azul fries, which my wife described as loaded nachos, but with fries. It was a very accurate description. My wife is smart. Also, those "loaded nachos, but with fries" were delicious. Maybe my favorite part of the meal. To be honest, I was not overly impressed with the tacos. They were just fine. But as is always the case, my wife couldn't finish her food so I got several bites of her burrito. I definitely enjoyed that. In retrospect, I wish I'd ordered that, or something other than the tacos. I'd happily return for a second visit to try something else. The guy who took my order was super friendly. I love this little taco truck. The parking lot is rather busy as it is one of the only gas stations in the area. They have a small tent with a few tables that you can wait while your food is being prepared. Service is always friendly and with a smile and the flavors are just great. Prices are right too. My favorite mini item so far is the azul taco with carnitas. Oh my goodness this is THE BEST pork carnitas I've ever had. The Azul taco comes with house-made corn tortillas, sour cream, guacamole and instead of shredded lettuce they use shredded cabbage which is a wonderful touch. The queso is not traditional but overall still flavorful. I enjoy the options of mild medium or hot salsa as well as hot sauces to accompany your meal. read more

If you've been reading my recent reviews you will notice I'm always in search of authentic Mexican. Very friendly staff, spoke about the towns and foods I had tried on my travels. They even had home made juice called Jamaica Juice which I had tried in México! The burritos were huge - the Azul Chicken Bowl will feed me for two days. Servings were very big with generous sides. 5 stars Best tacos in the Tampa Bay Area - and trust me I've tried almost all of them. This is a no frills taco truck in a gas station parking lot with high quality food and service. I've had their burritos, tacos, sopes, and tostadas. I recommend getting it to-go and eating it at home since there is not much seating. My only complaint is that they use mozzarella instead of a different cheese, but it's not a big deal when the rest of the food is so good. I've been here over a dozen times and it is always the same - excellent food, good prices, and quality service. read more

A good taco truck at the gas station at the corner of Lakeshore and Van Dyke with covered outdoor seating. The Buffalo Bowl with shrimp was my favorite ($8.99) with black beans, Mexican rice, cheese, pico and cabbage, and corn tortillas. Husband loved the MX and Azul tacos with steak ($2.99 each) and comes with guacamole, hot sauce and sour cream, "authentic, big, and tasty". We split the cheese quesadilla and it was good but it didn't have that stretchy string of cheese I like. Only wish they had elote! read more

I love this little taco truck. It's a hard working family business and they turn out great tacos at a great price. We've tried the Azul Tacos with every available meat, quesadillas and nachos. All were very good. I think the only place that really gives them competition is Capital Taco on US 41 in Land O' Lakes, but Azul is both closer and cheaper. Its a close and local option for well priced tacos and burritos. I've also had the fusion choice of the Azul Fries which is every taco topping piled high on French fried. (That's healthy right? With California Taco To Go closed, we were concerned we would not find great fried fish tacos . Thank goodness for Azul. Their fish taco was pretty close to on par with CTTG.
