We had an absolutely fantastic lunch for Mother's Day at Pinched! Our server was great, have good recommendations and spent the time to take a couple of great pics for us as well. I got the chicken kabob bowl. The chicken was well flavored and tender. The 2 dressing/sauces it came with were delicious. My dad had the salmon bowl, said it was cooked to perfection and the couscous was also great. My brother had the beef kabob bowl and also loved it. This was my least favorite of the 3 proteins. My mom had the falafel pita which was amazing. The falafel was fresh and the pita for all dishes seemed to have just been made! As for ambiance, we sat outside right on the river and the view was magnificent. Overall we had the perfect Mother's Day lunch!

I called Lanka? For a last minute catering order for work and she was beyond accommodating! She helped me pick the best food for the amount of people and was so flexible!!! The food arrived on time and was delicious! All of my coworkers asked where the food was from and wanted to order it again! I couldn't be happier with the service, food and price from Here! 12/10!!! We got the shawarma, falafel, and pita which came with salad and hummus and sauces! Be sure to ask for extra sauce as I will say those are pretty tiny! Delicious pita bread! They do delivery too!!

Summertime in Chicago is all about Al Fresco and having drinks and food at Pinched On The Riveris a must! Although Pinched By The River has a chic and elegant dining area with a big beautiful bar indoors for those cold winter days, summertime at Pinched On The River can't be beat. For my drink , I had the Watermelon Margarita, so refreshing! For an appetizer I had the mediterranean fish tacos, very delicious! For my main entree I had the poseidon bowl which was absolutely amazing! For dessert I had the benign shark cuttery and they were just like the ones we had in New Orleans (of course, east them while they're hot. The view, the food, the drinks, and the service here are amazing!

As the name implies , this restaurant is right on the Chicago river. The view is gorgeous and the food and drinks are heavenly. I started with a mingle maria cocktail and it was really delicious and refreshing! My appetizer was the mushroom pasta flat bread. It was plentiful and delectable. My main entree was the Chicken Mushroom Pesto Pasta, the pesto was so good, I wanted more of it. My dessert was the sea salt caramel cheesecake, it was really rich and decadent. It's gorgeous here, relaxing and comfortable, has great food and drinks with exceptional service! What more could you ask for?

I came to Pinched on the River after a work event and it was such a treat! The location is so special, and we were able to grab a seat right along the river and watch the boats go by. To drink I tried the watermelon margarita. This was so refreshing on a hot summer night! The food is fresh and yummy. My boss and I decided to start with some hummus and then we each built a BYO bowl. I really loved being able to customize it. I went with rice, chicken kabobs, spicy hummus, cabbage slaw, and feta. Pinched would be a great spot to bring out of towners or to go for a night date. I can't wait to come back!

This place only wins on location, location, location. Out for a stroll, decided to hang out by the river. The pizza place next door had a long wait so strolled further east to discover this spot. They seemed quite understaffed, food was average, and the prices were quite high. $50 per person for just one entree and one glass of house wine. But the charm of enjoying a Europe-style riverside patio makes it such that they don't have to put in any other effort to get people in or think about how much they get away with charging.

After buying tickets for the Chicago cruise architectural boat tour I decided to stop there to have some water and get some protein as it was pretty hot and humid out, and I felt like I was gonna pass out! Service was sketchy at First and I had to wander around inside to find someone and the lady seemed very bothered that I asked if I could sit outside. Once out there, it was a different server and I was thankful because she was great. Watch the storm roll in and listen to some thunder. There's a little view of a river inlet, which was great. I had a chicken Shawarma pita with some fries and ate every bit of it even though it was massive! Was able to see in an art studio and saw a gentleman starting to paint. With hands-down go back there. Really enjoyed the experience in the food.

I could eat this every day for lunch and never get tired of it. It was filling but not super heavy. The food was flavorful, the drinks were so pretty (peep the Chicago flag), service was quick and welcoming, and the location was amazing. It literally sits on the riverwalk, so if it's a nice day you can have your meal with a beautiful view. I cant wait to go back! Oh-- they also have a beignet charcuterie board, delicious!

Pinched on the River is one of my favorite mediterranean spots and it's the perfect place next to the river - The best patio for summertime and to see fireworks on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Their cocktails are delicious and I love the fresh ingredients and flavorful bowls. Service is great, would definitely go back!

I picked this restaurant for a nice lunch, not too far from the hotel and on the river. I did make a reservation, but arrived earlier than my time. I was seated and given time to look over the menu. I ordered from the "build your own" side of the menu with help from the waitress. I started with fries (handcut fries yummy), my lunch was brought out at the right moment. I really enjoyed my meal, wish I was in town longer, so I could try other items, but this was my last lunch meal while in the city of Chicago. If I were to visit again, I would not order the chicken, some pieces were too salty and I would order something else besides hummus. The hummus were a bit strong for my taste (mint perhaps, not sure). I loved the couscous and cucumber/tomato salad.

This place is amazing! It was our 2nd time here and we were so pleased both times! The food was SO fresh and delicious! The dessert was fantastic too! Highly recommend! We will be back anytime we are in this area of Chicago!

The entrance from Illinois is through a coffee shop and down the stairs. We were able to get a table on the water right away. The view is pretty and chill. The waitress was interesting and a little forgetful. The food though was fantastic. The chicken shawarma was really good with great flavor. I liked the black bean and corn mix and the slaw. The French fries were excellent. I would have liked the bowl mixed but it would lose something in the presentation. I got the lite garlic sauce and enjoyed it. I didn't leave feeling like a could slay a vampire with my breathe. The portion size was perfect and part of the price includes the view.

Service was friendly and top notch as expected from a nice Chicago restaurant. Props to the serving assistant/"busboy" who kept our waters full and table clean and set as we ate. As a former buss boy and server, I really appreciated his effort and attentiveness. Food was excellent! I got the chicken picatta with rigatoni added and both were on point. Homemade pasta and succulent chicken were really fantastic for an otherwise "boring" choice by me. We shared a side of the cauliflower that was seasoned impeccably with toasted almonds and white raisins. It might have been the best part of our entire meal which is saying a lot. I'll begin by mentioning the drinks tasted great & the ambiance/overall esthetic and setup of this space is really wonderful. Unfortunately, my low review is because of the obvious distastefulness of some staff who are serving & bartending here. My guests visiting from out of state wanted a stiff drink in the afternoon & from the website photos + reviews, Vol 39 seemed like an awesome place that could accommodate our party with the large sofa seating. I even called ahead to ask about walk-ins of our size to be extra considerate. We received shocking dagger glares from a few staff members which made all eight of us immediately uncomfortable before even being sat. Like we were committing a major crime for thinking we could step foot in here. Empty stack of glasses slammed on the table with a water pitcher placed beside them; "I'll be right back." In a sharp tone. Ok. But not if we're paying $20 per person per cocktail. We were rushed and this attitude persisted, it is lazy.. especially given it was extremely slow.. super surprising for such an elevated establishment. Then, after a long while, we were all asked what we wanted to drink, like a fast casual burger joint. No, "any questions about our selections" or, "may I give some suggestions?" Never came by to check on us once despite the three other two tops inside. We wrapped it up fast since we definitely could choose another location with more attentiveness & basic kindness. We paid, a hefty gratuity in small print on the check which.. you guessed it.. was automatically included but no mention of this tidbit by the server. Maybe this is why we revived all this mean girl energy from the jump? Because they'll still get paid really well regardless? All eight of us have been a part of the service industry and this one stuck out extra frustrating & annoying. Never leave a low review, I'm writing today to management because they will ruin your repeat clientele, seriously. People can find another fabulous cocktail with way better service & vibes in the city. Overall, it was a shame my friends experienced this gross behavior today in the fabulous city of Chicago. Hope the staff does better in the future and works on improving their outlook.
