Located inside Heathrow Airport, we stopped here for lunch on my first time at the airport. My wife and daughter shared the club sandwich (4/5) and very much enjoyed it. I ordered the twelve inch margarita pizza (4.5/5). The crust (5/5) was excellent, nice and crisp at the edges, bendy in the middle. The cheese was generous and lightly spiced with basil. Food was pretty good, although the bread crust was a little dry for me. The unfortunate part was the service I had asked for one of their desserts at the same time I ordered the meal. But the dessert never came. It took a long time to try and get somebody's attention after eating what happened to the dessert? Someone went to ask, and I still didn't get it after sitting there for over half an hour when it should've come with the rest of the meal. I gave up then had to wait for someone to show up so that I could pay so that I catch the last leg of my flight. I say don't waste your time. Shout out to Walter who made our jetlagged brunch/lunch/whatever-meal-it-was extremely memorable. Even though we were only at LHR for a short time, he made us feel at home. This is above average airport food. It's at the end of terminal 5 near a large seating section. While we were there it seemed more relaxed than the main part of the terminal, probably because it's a bit removed rom the shops and the other gates. It made for a relaxing dining experience. We each enjoyed our meals. My husband had the English breakfast and I had the Eggs Royale which consisted of two poached eggs on toasted English muffin halves with smoked salmon and hollandaise sauce. Plus--because we were at LHR--we each ordered tea which came in massive shiny pots and provided more than enough tea for a long sit-down brunch. Not sure this is a great place if you're in a rush since the food takes some time--but since we had a longer layover, I'm glad we chose to spend some time here. read more

However, the food is where we had the biggest complain, so let me explain. We know airport food is a hit or miss, not concerned with that, but my wife's Fish and chips were not good. We tried using lemon, ketchup, tartar sauce, and nothing helped it. Fish was just battered and fried, no seasoning whatsoever, and the batter was just bland, just lacked flavor. If you are in the Heathrow airport you have to stop here and try their fish and chips. Their fried are well seasoned and the fish was so light and perfectly flaky which tasted great with the lemon juice, tartar sauce and green peas. It was horrendous. It was like soup that had something which had disintegrated in it. The iced tea I referenced in my tip was floral and not what I was expecting. I ordered a club sandwich. It was ok but they brought it to me 10 minutes later after they served Larry. Weird. And the waiter seemed surprised, like you want to eat together? The problem is that there are two servers per table. One who takes the order and the other who delivers and it appears that they don't communicate. Stopped by this restaurant for a quick meal before my flight back to Paris; so this restaurant is located inside the London Heathrow Airport. It's all the way at the end of Terminal 5, but it's actually one of the few places that actually has a seat down area while serving food & alcohol at the same place. The décor is like any typical airport restaurant with its glossed tables black tabletops and booths and chairs surrounding the bar. I ordered a quick Margarita Flatbread Pizza to quickly down before catching my flight out since I hadn't had breakfast or lunch that day. When you walk up, the hostess will greet you and promptly seat you in an open table while your server arrives. Overall, my server was quite attentive and another server even accidentally brought me another cup of water when my original server already did as well. Very expensive, sub-par food with an unenthusiastic waitress who was bordering on inept. You are always going to pay a premium to eat at an airport, and even more so in somewhere like London, so I shouldn't have been surprised that a portion of fries, 3 desserts and 4 cocktails came to £55! We were going to get food on the plane, so there was no need for something huge, hence why we opted to go straight to the dessert menu, washed down with holiday mojitos'. The apple & rhubarb crumble and custard was pleasant enough, although I needed to ask for an extra portion of custard because the original 3 tablespoons of custard presented was inadequate to drench my crumble in. The raspberry mojitos used big cubes of ice rather than crushed, with one lonely mint leaf, and a token raspberry to garnish. At least they were quite strong! We ordered our drinks when we sat down and ten minutes later ordered food, then 15 minutes later our food arrived, followed 5 minutes later by our drinks. We shouldn't get our food before our drinks surely? The waitress gave us a knife and fork for our crumble, and a spoon for the wife's fries, and our pal was expected to eat his not-remotely-cold Chocobockerglory with his fingers... So this is a bar and restaurant in terminal 5 at Heathrow airport. Close to the south section of the terminal. The location is very good and surrounded by several other restaurants and shopping stores, including Harrods, and Rolex. The food is pretty much an average airport food. Not amazing, but good enough. The menus is diverse, however very simple and semi limited (see image if menu). The service was slightly below what I would like to experience. Mainly longer time for service than expected from an airport terminal spot. However, I will give the a credit because the restaurant was slammed busy at the time I was there. I didn't know if I wanted chips or sweet potato fries and so I order the chips and he also brought me the sweet potato fries and they were both to die for. A Superb Start to Our Holiday at Pilots Heathrow T5 This was my wife and I 's first time at Pilots and to be honest, was the best online review that we saw before we chose. We were very impressed. There was quite a queue, that the Waiting Staff" dealt with quickly and efficiently. Table service was fast and we soon had drinks and All Day Breakfasts, which were well cooked and tasty. The whole experience was impressive and we shall certainly go back to a Pilots again. We would particularly like to mention and commend Ioana, our waitress, who was attentive and quickly delivered food and drink to our table. Thank you Ioana for making so much effort and attention to detail, which made for a memorable visit to your restaurant.
