This is the original HARD ROCK CAFE established in 1971. Lots of great memorabilia in this location...artists include Eric Clapton, Paul McCartney, The Who and others. We try to hit Hard Rock wherever we go, so this was a must. Great service and great food. You even get refills on soda which is a rare thing to find at London area restaurants. The shop is across the street for your Hard Rock shirts, pins, hats and other HRC merch. Even better you can walk through Green Park that leads straight to Buckingham Palace. Located in Piccadilly next to all the hustle and bustle. This place is like 1995 was bottled up from my youth and transplanted here in London. It is classic Hard Rock. Music is hopping and thankfully I had a reservation. Food was delicious and service was spot on. I got the legendary smash burger. Flavor was amazing and the grilled onions were fantastic. As Americans from Louisiana in London, we were struggling to find food we liked in London after walking all day. The Original Hard Rock was just a few blocks from our hotel and we ended up eating here twice. We were so glad it was there even though we would never choose Hard Rock in the states. A complete miss. On my 3rd trip to London in 3 years, I was REALLY looking forward to visiting. Now I wish I hadn't. I've been an AVID HRC pin collector since before I started traveling, and have accumulated well over a hundred of their pins thru friends & family travels and visits of my own. It always means more to be there and remember the time you picked up that pin, or traded with someone in the shop. This trip to London was special, with The Mrs and our youngest, her first time out of the US and in a city known for the thing she's super passionate about: music. After a day of MILES seeing the sights and pounding the pavement, a treat was in order and we were close to the ORIGINAL HRC. It looked calm from the outside, patio was completely dead, and nobody at the outdoor podium, so optimistically we showed ourselves in. Enter the letdown. We were immediately met with two hostesses without a hello, just hostility. Just a "how many? Shocked, my wife answered, "we're hoping for drinks and dessert, is that ok?" One hostile hostess snapped "well, we've had a lot of walk-in's today, and are about to have live music." I said, "Great, we'd love to get a table, and look at the menu." She grabs three menus and says "you can sit at the bar, or outside on the patio unless you order more." We sit at a table adjoining the bar and open the menus. Order three bar drinks and a cheesecake to share. While waiting, I look around the restaurant and count 12+ open four top or more tables, two open seats at the bar, and the complete line of stools in front of the grill completely open. Our server is overtly short tempered with us during the visit, and doesn't even check back after we dig in to our dessert - just to collect the empty dish and glasses. We decide to get the check, keep the 12% added optional gratuity, pay and leave without a "take care" or even a casual or half-hearted "thanks." There was another customer there, also happening to be enjoying a dessert and drink from the bar - I hope they had a better experience than we did. When we returned to our hotel, I curiously check what reservations look for the rest of the evening and they have availability for a party of 3 every 15min until close. HRC London Management - this is a coachable opportunity for your front of house folks. Everyone that comes in your front door is an opportunity to meet expectations (which should be the bare minimum) or even go above and beyond when you have the ability when time and staffing allows - for a first timer, a casual tourist, or a lifetime HRC superfan - since they've ALL chosen your spot. To give zero and ready to turn away customers (midweek and with open tables all night) is bad business. read more

I was originally hired in 2002 at the Hard Rock Vault in Orlando Florida - they always said it was based after the 'one in London' thats this one, yo! When you land and check into your hotel make this Hard Rock a place you go first - you absolutely will be sitting in the very first one ever and had some of the oldest well loved servers work here - the memo department is next door where the Vault is and thats not to be missed so go here twice once to eat and once to do the tour next door! After a long and rainy day on a the Big Bus Tour-- we all worked up an appetite and I noticed this was one of the stops. I figured we could hop off and grab some lunch and continue or journey. Unfortunately, when we went inside, they informed us there was a 90 minute wait! Initially I said no, I would just find an alternate place, but we had to use the bathroom and I said let's just stick it out. As we decided to wait in front-- I discovered they had mulled wine, which I had been searching for since I arrived in London. I was in Paris previously and it had become my favorite thing to have. After about 50 minutes, our buzzer went off. The ambiance is the typical Hard Rock stuff you would see in any of their restaurants. The staff was friendly and someone came over and took our order. We all went with the cheeseburger and I had a side of their twisted Mac. All of our meals came out relatively quickly and we all enjoyed. I would say it was a good decision to wait it out. FYI-- if you have the go city pass-- you can use this as one of your trip options, but the Gold menu is very limited so it may be a better option to just order from the regular menu and save the pass for an attraction. read more

Great service! Attentive waitstaff and delicious food. Deducted a star because the allergy menu was out of date. I reviewed the menu and ordered nachos but was told that even though it was not marked as not having mustard (potentially trace of nuts) it actually had mustard in the queso! Mustard and potentially nuts in queso! I was horrified that the allergy menu needed to be updated to be accurate and that nachos had mustard let alone nuts! So disappointing. The OG got pretty and kept its spirit . My second time at this location and it will always have a special place in my heart. Our visit was to introduce our children to the original location but we ended up seeing lots of memorabilia and although we didn't collect any t-shirt, I had to add a hat to my collection. The Vault is located in the shop and The Back Room is a small bar (children allowed) that serves a limited amount of menu items, it's located behind the Cafe. Two weeks ago there was a private function from Sir Elton John to the owners of HRC where the matter of his credit card stored in The Vault was brought up, to which Sir Elton John replied "I can assure you it won't work". Of course we were not invited to that private event, we learned this in the tour of The Vault, where the most precious and coveted artifacts belonging to HRC are stored, for example: Slash's wardrobe when playing November Rain. David Bowie's guitar when he played at this HRC for the first time and then gave it to the first owners. Madonna's wardrobe and old credit card . John Lennon's glasses and military jacket used when playing in many concerts, the one he was gifted from a certain general. ... And many more. This Cafe is best enjoyed with live music , every Wednesday from 6:30pm to around 9:00pm. Of course, getting the Original Burger , the one that started it all, was necessary... And so I did. Cheese and onion and other flavors are easy to identify and make it a really good choice. Rodrigo, the Manager is AMAZING. He went above and beyond to ensure that the new points program (Unity) was working for every expense in the restaurant and in The Back Room. He is well versed in English, Spanish and we both agree that better than learning another language, LOVE and MUSIC are the universal languages that will ultimately make humans better. Last party admitted in the restaurant is at 9:30pm. Tours of The Vault run every 20 minutes. The shop closes at 10pm. We stopped in for dinner. That's what you do when you get in late in the day and you're starving and the Hardrock is a block away from your hotel. The food here is just mediocre. We ordered a burger and nachos. The burger was way over cooked and dry. The nachos were ok. They would have been better if they had queso instead of just shredded cheese on them. The wait was pretty long and not worth it. Next time we will just eat in the hotel. read more

The original! I finally made it to this original location! After the obligatory photos in front of the cafe, I went to the gift shop and got to go downstairs and see the vault (museum). Took some very cool photos and bought some merch here. Staff was super friendly and accommodating. Ranch dressing and free refills... need I say more?!!! I've been in Europe for 16 days and this was a much needed home like meal. I had a delicious salad with romaine lettuce, ranch, and grilled chicken. The last "ceasar salad" I had in europe was with arugula and cold chicken, so this was such a relief. They were so fun here and they stay open for a hot meal than other places in the area. Drinks were good, food was decent and it's a great place to check off your list when being a tourist. read more

I visited the original Hard Rock Cafe in London on Christmas Day {2025} with my Husband, during my Birthday/our Christmas Holiday trip to London. Wonderful and polite staff indeed. Very accommodating, to Persons with Disabilities and just went out of their way, to make sure my visit was Phenomenal and exciting. Five star experience and the food, cocktails and Hot Chocolate were magnificent. I would recommend this restaurant to any Disabled/Mobility Challenged traveler. Our lovely Waiter got the Hard Rock Retail Store across the street, to put down their Disability Ramp access, so I could easily get into the Merch store and purchase Hard Rock Cafe London items. He also stop the traffic, so I could get across the street safely. Top flight Customer Service and my total experience was just Excellent. Anyone traveling from the USA, should come by and check out this marvelous establishment. Again, 5 Star Customer Service from both the Restaurant staff and the Merchandise Store staff, across the street. read more

Because in their website its said open at 11.30 am but we went there 11am the store already open and if you only gonna buy their merchandise items you can just go a head to their store and buy it. The Hard Rock Cafe on Old Park Lane is where it first started, founded by two Americans back in 1971 who wanted to find a good burger in London, as a big HRC fan, I was excited to check out this location, which is now one of three Cafe's in London alone, it includes a standalone shop and a museum, so it is pretty large, on my visit I only tried out the restaurant. Despite being a little busy, I was able to get a seat straight away even as a walk-in, I presume they reserve some tables for walk-ins only, as it came up as no reservations. I do wish they had availability shown online, as I originally thought my visit here could be a wasted trip. The staff seemed pretty friendly, my biggest concern was that it seemed to be certain waiters serving certain tables, this meant I had to wait longer as only one waiter would serve me, now I have no problem with my server as he was friendly but the waiting times is what really annoyed me, including having to wait for ten-minutes for a take-away box, despite informing them I was in a rush for a train, which was pretty ridiculous. The prices here are reasonable, a little pricey but that's London, I ordered the gluten-free chicken burger, sadly they didn't have any of the gluten-free buns in stock but the food was still okay, the chicken was good quality and the lettuce and tomato was a nice addition. The chips, on the other hand, tasted lukewarm, it felt like they'd done them well before the burger meaning the temperature wasn't what I'd have liked, and they were also slightly overseasoned, which again was a real shame as I normally love HRC fries. 3* - I was slightly disappointed, I thought the original HRC would be much better than it actually was, let alone be one of my least favourite HRC locations I have visited, having to wait 10 minutes for a takeaway box, despite informing the staff that I was in a rush and then being charged a 10% service charge which was not even stated on my gluten-free menu, was rather insulting. read more

Coming from California, we have a lot of these at home but made a stop here because it's the original! We initially heard it was going to be crowded so we did the prepaid meal on Expedia but we felt cheated from Expedia so DON'T do that. The servers were nice, quick, and friendly. The atmosphere was great, with lots of music history! & the music was awesome! Our food was your typical American hard rock cafe food, but that wasn't the reason we visited. We visited because of the punk rock culture of London and we wanted to see some of their music artifacts! 5/5 only because it's worth going. Cool because it's the original Hard Rock Cafe. There is some cool memorabilia in the restaurant like The Rolling Stones first logo ever made. Make sure if you are a rock fan to go on the vault museum tour. This location is one of the smallest Hard Rock I've been in to. The tables are super close together and it's loud. By far the service was horrible and extremely slow but that's relatively common in London so I'm docking them just on that. The kitchen was slow took 20 minutes to get my order of nachos. As for the food it was good and consistent with the cafes other world locations. The proportions were very large. Two people could have shared the nachos for a meal. read more

One of the best Hard Rock cafes have ever been to. We went to the store first where a tour of the Vault was just starting. The Hard Rock gentleman let us in behind the bars and there was lots of memorabilia in there. He told us the story of the Beatles and Hendrix, it lasted about 30 minutes, he was very detailed. He even helped take pictures. It was a fun experience. We then headed to the restaurant which had an outdoor patio and two levels filled with memorabilia. There was a shirt from U2's Bono in the lower level amongst many other musicians clothing and guitars. I ordered a Burger and Fries. I told the sever to make sure the fries were fresh and they weren't. He got me new fries and they were perfect. The burger tasted really good. read more

We love the Hard Rock Cafe. Very dependable. The ambiance, the employees, the drinks the food! Also great value. My wife had a chopped salad I had a burger and fries. All was great one thing they and other restaurants use that drives me nuts. Those brioche buns on their burgers. They are so tough when you bite down the burger is squeezed out! I need to sharpen my teeth! Brioche buns are too tough. Look nice but a regular bun like those from in n out is better. We love HRC! read more

I'm not totally sure why I decided that I needed to come here while in London. I mean honestly, if you've seen one Hard Rock, you've basically seen them all. But for some weird reason I was drawn to this place. I came in to grab some lunch and was promptly seated at the bar area, or I guess whatever that area was called, it really wasn't a bar and it kind of overlooked the kitchen/serving area. The hostess that had seated me was informative of the place and had asked me where I was from. When I said Pittsburgh she automatically said Pennsylvania, then she second guessed herself, but then again came back to PA, it was a nice conversation and a welcoming gesture. Sitting at this bar area you got to see the food be prepared and watch the staff interact with one another. They were enthusiastic and entertaining for sure. After browsing the menu I finally decided on what I wanted. My server was right on top of things, like anytime I needed things he was magically there. I had placed my drink order, still water, and when he came back I placed my order. I decided on the Guinness bacon cheeseburger with a side of Guinness beer cheese fries. When this thing appeared it was massive. I now understand why so many places serve their burgers with steak knives. What drew me to this burger was the fact that it was combining Guinness and Jameson on a burger. The cheese contained the Guinness but what I was more interested in trying was the Jameson bacon jam. You would think this thing would be salty, but for some reason it did not have that overwhelming salt flavoring. In fact the flavors melded so well that I devoured that thing quickly, along with the Guinness cheese covered fries. After I finished and paid I decided to make my way to the store area, which is actually across the small street. Of course you want to buy a shirt or what not to let people know you went to a Hard Rock Cafe. I browsed and picked out a couple of shirts and paid. The original Hard Rock Cafe is worth going out of your way to visit. It is TINY and tables are close, but try and sit upstairs if at all possible. That is where it feels like an old school place. The sections downstairs have more room, but it feels like a more modern Hard Rock and a bit disconnected. Food and service were both great and I love the classic outfits on the waitresses. The local Legendary burger at this location features roast beef on top of the burger with a "gravy" on the side! It's different and a bit heavy, but good! The rock shop is located across the street and also features a small museum - although the tour times were very limited when I was there so I wasn't able to experience it. As always the greatest meals ever. A variety of american meals. With the surprise I had the new Messi Bruger. It is simply DELICIOSO!

Even for an early dinner, it was very crowded, but we got a small table for two near the front door. We enjoyed the music selections and videos as well as the rock and roll memorabilia on the walls (gold albums, electric and acoustic guitars, photos and a Jimmy Hendrix outfit). The menu was fairly simple, and we didn't expect much, but were pleasantly surprised by how much we enjoyed their "Coronation Salad" (that event coming up soon) and their Asian Noodle bowl. Another nice surprise was that, in the hallway downstairs by the bathrooms, there were other memorabilia on the wall, for example, a record of a court appearance for the Rolling Stones "following an incident at an all night filling station in East London," and also a note with an illustration of Jerry Garcia of the Grateful Dead about a "Cairo tour." Somewhat detracting from the ambience was being packed in like sardines and the difficulty of moving while standing. read more

Although I love your Hard Rock for its atmosphere, the food is not great. My kids like it because it's lots of cities we visit and that was their lunch selection. Our server was awesome and not only was she our server but she collected us from the desk and seated us. I started off my meal with the Boozy Cookies snd Cream Shake and all I can say is yum! It came in a glass coated with chocolate sprinkles. It was loaded with vanilla vodka, cookies and cream ice cream, topped with home made whipped cream, candy mini stars and a few drops of chocolate syrup. After this I didn't need my lunch. We had the Korean Bang Bang shrimp as an app and it was very tasty and plenty for the three of us. I had the original burger and not only was it way over salted, I ordered it medium and it was well done. In addition the fries was super salty. My little guy ordered the Mac and Cheese on the kids menu and it was super bland. My older son ordered the Twisted Mac and Cheese with chicken and that was the only thing that was good. I always enjoy the atmosphere and the memorabilia but honestly, the food is always meh! read more

But most importantly, we HAD to eat in the first restaurant of the chain! :) Atmosphere: It's the original. Bustling & cramped, but who cares! It's awesome.
