Hard Rock Cafe on Great Cumberland Place, just off Oxford Street is one of the coolest Hard Rock locations I've visited. It is styled as Hard Rock Cafe Oxford Street, due to its' close proximity to London's flagship and premier shopping street. It is on the Ground Floor of the Hard Rock Hotel, it has different vibes to the other HRC's I've been in, the area is modern, cool and felt like a great place "to rock", with amazing live music from Dylan Holloway.
The interior looked so good, across the entire building including the restaurant, hotel lobby area, stage and even the toilets.
The menu seemed to have more options than other HRC's, they had a lot more choices in terms of food and beverages, I opted for the BBQ Chicken dish, which I haven't seen on offer at a Hard Rock before.
I would advise pre-booking, as they do regularly seem to be fully booked here, especially during peak times, they do have limited availability for walk-ins, but I did feel if I would not have pre-booked, I wouldn't have got a table.
The service was a little slow, however, they were busy, so this has to be expected. My server did seem friendly, however, perhaps she was trying to justify the service charge being added onto the bill (This is something I HATE),
When my food arrived, I found it to taste really good, HRC's BBQ sauce really does go well with chicken, although I would have liked it to be a little hotter, as it was served lukewarm, all of my food still tasted good, and the chips were piping hot. Strangely, my friends said the opposite, they felt their chips were cold and their chicken tenders were too hot.
4* - I had a good time here, good vibes, good service, despite a couple of problems (service charge being added onto the bill, wait times, food temperature), I would return and I do much prefer this location to the original Hard Rock Cafe on Old Park Lane. read more
