We were seated quickly and the service was great. I ordered the pizza and it was amazing, definitely yummy.

When you eat in your meal comes in metal dishes with logo under your burger and chips! What I love about this place is the menu is simple, the ingredients are not so simple but mainly you chose what kind of burger ie chicken, beef then you can stop there or add other ingredients and then you can get fries which are not like your normal fries as they are freshly made and taste amazing as there's different toppings, then to top it off you could have a milkshake or an alcoholic milkshake! There are much more items on the menu as they have a brunch menu and dessert! But if your getting a takeaway they are nice enough to let you sit down drink some cold water and enjoy freshly made popcorn! So the beef burger is my favourite as the buns are nice and soft, the burger is a good thick portion which is very juicy - I'm starting to think they must steam the burger as when you bite into it it is just clear meat juice! The sweet potatoe fries are the best and I like to top it all off with a Reece's peanut butter milkshake which is so yummy you can drink the whole thing too quickly but the best bits is the chocolate at the bottom which I grab a spoon and enjoy the scrapings at the bottom of my milkshake! The staff are really friendly and you can place orders at 11.30am every day!

Staff were a little overwhelmed today somehow, but that didn't detract from the experience. A couple did leave before they got served as they had other things to do, it's not a fast food joint! Their chilli jam is a great companion, just the right amount of chilli. The rosemary chips are perfect. I'll be back.

Such a fun spot. I had heard a lot about The Plough and wanted to see it for myself. Even though I had come in on a slow night I was still treated better than I had ever been in any American pub. Plus it's on the Peep Show tour path in Croydon so had to make the special pilgrimage. Highly recommended!

After being here for four weeks, we stopped in yesterday afternoon to make it happen. I ordered the chicken/pork mix and my husband went with the beef. Each main came with sides of cooked veggies, Yorkshire pudding, golden roasties, all covered in a house-made gravy. Our portions were generous and the gravy, for me, was the highlight; the combination of the potato chunks dipped into the gravy, letting it soak into them, was divine! These two dishes, plus a beer for my husband, came to £26 total. The vibe was casual, with patrons just hanging out at tables, spread out throughout the place. There is a back patio, but we felt it was a bit chilly to dine outside, so we went with an indoor high table in-between the bar and one of the windows facing out front. We truly felt like we got a taste of a typical Sunday afternoon at the local pub. Note: We ordered and paid at the same time up at the bar.

So, we decided to get something for takeaway rather than wait. At the takeaway window the guy was disorganised and took a unnecessarily long time to take our order. Then when placing the order based on what was on the menu he said that changed. In this case a child's menu item that was supposed to come with hash browns. But it turns out it doesn't anymore. Then update your menu! So, he charged us for a side of hash browns. Then after getting the terrible service, from the dismissive guy working, they charged a service fee. Seriously? A 4.40 service fee for being slow and doing a terrible job. So my friend went to talk to the manager about the service charge and not providing items on the menu, the person he spoke to kept trying to dismiss him because they were "busy" and didn't have time to address his issue. Eventually he did get the service charge and hash browns refunded. After all this the breakfast burritos were ok at best. Large does not always equal good. And being busy is not an excuse for bad service.

If you are an expat, this will be your new comfort food craving after your first visit. Our group ordered three different sandwiches and shared many brunch dishes and they were all amazing. They serve their buttermilk pancakes topped with bacon and a generous helping of syrup on the side. The eggs benny came with fries and was delish as well. All of their amazing sandwiches come with an individual pickle that is made in-house. We shared a Chicken Cobb (Corn fed chicken, smoked bacon, avocado, blue cheese, boiled egg, tomato, red onion, lettuce & mayo on 3 slices of toasted white), The Toronto (Slow roasted topside beef, melted English cheddar, leaf lettuce, tomato, pickled hot peppers, red onion, & horseradish mayo on toasted sourdough), and The Medley (Roasted turkey breast, smoked ham, bacon, melted cheddar & emmental, lettuce, tomato, red onion, pickled hot peppers & basil mayo on toasted sourdough). This place is locally owned and the vibe is very laid back. We went around 12:30 on a Saturday and this place was packed. They take reservations so you might want to make some (we did). Overall, I will definitely come back.

There are few things in the world less appetizing to me than two pieces of pre-packaged soggy bread with one slice of ham drowning in a gallon of mayo that's been sitting on the Pret a Manger shelf all day. In America you only see stuff like that at gas stations, and even there they hold the mayo. In England, they put so much mayo on those sandwiches that it actually gets listed as an ingredient. So whereas you'd have a chicken sandwich with mayo in America, in England it becomes a chicken mayo sandwich. That's just wrong. And nasty. Enter Pickle & Rye. If this place were in Soho or South Kensington then there'd be lines out the door. True Mortlake is in London's upscale southwest and thus home to several affluent American ex-pats, but I feel like that this gem of a sandwich place is missing out on a golden opportunity by being stuck out in the middle of nowhere. It was a trek to get to even from Fulham, and I've got plenty of friends who think that Fulham is enough of a trek already. Or at least that's their excuse for never coming to visit us. This place would merely have to not completely suck to be one of the best sandwich places in London, but it's really taken the art of the sandwich to another level. The owner / head sandwich dude is a culinary school graduate who roasts all their meats, cures his own corned beef (known around these parts as salt beef), makes his own dill pickles (which are easily the best that I've ever had in England) and Russian dressing, with the result being the finest reuben this side of the Atlantic. I will gladly return to the middle of nowhere for another one.
