I was looking for A BBQ place that was near me and came across this little place . It's basically a house with parking spots in front . No big sign or anything . They have 3-4 pulled meats that can come on a sandwich for 5 bucks or add a side for 3 bucks more . I got the pulled Porto sandwich with a side , was like 8 and change . With baked beans which were really good . The sandwich was a bit small and had to get another one . Usually sandwiches like these are over stuffed but these were kind of skimpy for me . Why o needed another one . Dinner then came out to like 13 bucks . And doesn't show it . The pulled pork sandwiches were very good but could have used more meat . They have assorted sauces on the side and if you want a fountain drink , yup it's more . Over all the service was good and the restaurant was empty when I went but the dinner crowd was starting to flow in. Would try it again as I didn't have their ribs . But it's mostly ala cart and no real deals . read more

I took a trip up to Tullahoma last week for a change of pace after working in Belvidere. Piggy's Place wound up being my selection for lunch. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit! I arrived for a fairly late meal (~1:45) so it wasn't super crowded. The parking lot is easy to access. There were a few people eating inside and several carryout orders that occurred during my visit. The inside is adorably decorated in your usual southern bbq joint style -- fun pig memorabilia and whatnot. They have a pretty large selection of bbq and an even larger selection of desserts. In retrospect, I definitely regret not getting a slice of cake or pie to go! I am usually a pulled pork girl, but it is pretty unusual to see smoked pulled chicken -- most places only do half or quarter birds -- and I like pulled chicken a lot, so I ventured out and ordered that! I got the smaller sized plate lunch, which comes with a piece of Texas toast and two sides. I went with curly fries and corn on the cob. Overall, the food was good! The pulled chicken was nice and smoky and the perfect serving size. It was a teeny bit dry but that's typical bbq chicken territory and nothing a good dash of creamy, peppery white bbq sauce couldn't fix. Good sauce! My corn on the cob wasn't super sweet -- probably not quite in season yet -- but it was cooked nicely and very juicy. The fries gave strooooong Arby's vibes such that I think they might actually *be* Arby's fries lol, but there's nothing wrong with that. Especially when they were cooked so fresh and came out hot and crispy! The toast was a lovely buttery companion and my sweet tea was on point. The service here though...THAT gets a 5/5, or really a 10/5 if such a thing were possible. I sometimes feel like southern hospitality is a myth or at least an oversimplification of southern social norms, but at this place it's real and sincere. The woman who took my order -- the owner, I later learned, having purchased the restaurant after years as an employee -- treated me and everyone else who walked in the doors with such warmth, kindness, interest, and attentiveness that it made my entire day. Truly everyone was made to feel so welcome. She catered to some older ladies who came in for a birthday, checked in on me in a nonjudgmental but caring way since I was by myself, and greeted regulars with a smile and by their name. She made the place feel like joy! Definitely give this place a go and enjoy the tasty food and wonderful folks. I'd happily return. read more

After an overnight stay in Manchester, our cousin brought us here for a quick lunch before we had to get back on the road to Nashville. This is a cute little Southern BBQ place, pork was obviously their specialty, so we tried the BBQ pork plate with sweet potatoes fries and cole slaw. The large plate had a generous portion of shredded bbq pork, cole slaw, and fries. It came with 2 slices of buttered and toasted bread. They also gave us a small container of sweet cinnamon honey butter which was unique and unlike anything we've tasted before. We split it in two and shared. All the food tasted good. What I liked most was the decor inside. So cute! All the pig pictures, figures plus historic license plates, etc. It's worth the visit if you have time for a visit and the food is good! read more

Loaded potato: Pork was cold, slapped with 2 slices of American cheese, heated in the microwave considering there wasn't even aluminum foil on the darn thing... served on a styrofoam plate. Best thing about this meal was the coke, only thing they couldn't mess up. Combo plate: served cold "toasted bread" don't even know how that's possible. With a spoon full of pulled pork and 2 skinny rib bones and a quarter of chicken with BBQ beans straight out of a can. I got more bread than I got meat. With water because they didn't have any diet sodas. The lady's were very nice and cheerful probably to lure you in. Ambiance is very southern style not bad but is clean. read more

Good food bbq, sauce average, service poor. Don't ask to buy a cake, the owner or manager acts like you just asked for her first born child. But, by golly buy six pieces of cake and you're ok. Again, food was OK, but not worth the condescending, egotistical service that you get as a customer, which I believe is the only thing to keep their doors open, customers. read more

A great little barbecue spot. Is it the best in the world? No, but it's pretty good. And it comes with good sides, and good desserts, and is made with care. I got the Friday special, two meats and two side. I picked ribs and brisket, plus baked beans and coleslaw. The meats were smoky and slow cooked. The brisket was pulled, which I'm not used to (always seen it sliced or chopped.) It was kinda dry and not very flavorful, but not bad, and the sauce perked it up (they have three, I got hot and it was very good.) The ribs were better: more flavorful, more moist. The beans were good: savory, a little sweet. Coleslaw was very good. Finely chopped, with just a bit of mayo. I got sweet tea, of course- good not great. And chess pie. I have to get it when it's on the menu, along with buttermilk or sugar cream pies. It was also good. Friendly service. Very reasonable prices. A nice little dining area, nothing fancy, and most orders were to go. Good sized parking lot, on a corner. Wish this was in my neighborhood. read more

Passing thru and wanted to try some local BBQ. Good little spot. I got the pulled pork sandwich and it was good. The flavor of the BBQ was very mild and I like a strong smoke flavor but, it was good eating. The sauce seemed to have a hint of mustard and really had a nice flavor. The baked beans were good too. What I really should have done was get a big ol' slice of the strawberry cake they had under glass. Must be good as it was the first thing two people asked for when they walked in the door. Stopped by Piggy's BBQ today for lunch while working in Tullahoma. I've passed this place multiple times and wanted to check them out, but never hadtook the extra time. Glad I finally did today! For my first visit I chose the pulled brisket which was good. I still like the sliced brisket pieces better than the pulled brisket, but it still had good flavor. I was half tempted to order the pork ribs after reading a review on YELP where the reviewer said they were the best he'd ever had...I probably should have gone for those, but I guess it just gives me a good reason to come back again soon. Also, I've got to try that coconut cake next time...All of the deserts looked wonderful, but in all honesty, I could probably benefit from skipping a few meals...but oh well...great food and good times with the ones you love makes life worth living! read more

I tried this spot for the first time yesterday and ordered the BBQ sandwich lunch. The sandwich was huge and the sides were all so good as well. I have not been happy with the last few places I have ordered potato salad from, Piggy's has the best. I was so relieved. You can't find fruit tea many places anymore these days. When I walked in and saw the counter lined with 5-6 cake plates, I knew I had lucked into something pretty special. My only regret is I couldn't try every one. I settled on strawberry with strawberry pecan icing. Let me tell you what, it was just about to die for. The special today was pot roast. My husband had asked what I wanted for lunch. When I responded, "I'd really like to have an open faced roast beef sandwich!". He was like, "Well, good luck with that one, Honey!" Within 3 minutes of driving down the road, Piggy's appeared with the special advertised on the sign. It was just meant to be. My meal was delicious. Mashed potatoes with a rich brown gravy. Green beans cooked the right way. And a home made yeast roll. And the pot roast!! Lord help! So moist. So tasty. They offer a special every day. I can't wait to be back in town. I'm hoping to be here for turkey and dressing day. My hubby wants to be here for meatloaf day. I really would make the drive off the Interstate to eat at Piggy's. It was that good. I was really hopeful this would be amazing but, while the meats were decent, the sides missed all the marks.

Got some takeout here tonight, The owner Wanda is a doll and so likable. Soooo that goes a long way for me! I have to say my pulled pork sandwich was delicious, my husband also enjoyed his pulled pork and brisket combo platter. Here was the big surprise... The desserts! I got a lemon meringue pie and a German chocolate cake and both were over the top delicious! The German chocolate cake has a unique twist I want to say it cinnamon but I'm not sure it's so yummy!!!' Piggy's Place is ok at best. There are better options in Tullahoma. I found the pulled pork to be lacking flavor. It is not something that you can eat on its own. It seems the the pork is there to complement the sauce not the other way around. The baked beans taste like Canned beans. The slaw was amazing a combination of both vinegar and mayo. There fruit/spice tea was also on point. I just hope that this was just a bad batch of pork because I want to give them the benefit of the doubt. It was a pretty bad rainy day and maybe the wood was extra smoky and caused the flavor to be off. read more

They get a 5 star for service and value. The people at the counter were very friendly and the food was served hot a quick. The food was pretty good and you get a whole pile for like $13. Excellent value. I arrived 30 minutes before closing, and in my experience this means the meat is a little dry by then at any BBQ place. The ribs fell of the bone but were a touch dry. Same with the chicken. I'm sure if I came at a decent hour they would be great. read more
