The seafood was top notch, staff were so sweet, friendly and helpful. The young woman who was bussing tables and running orders went above and beyond to do a good job and it was just her 5th day. Keep this girl, she's wonderful! Shrimp tasted like no other shrimp I've had before. They melted in my mouth. If we lived local we'd be back regularly. read more

Easy to find and decent amount of parking even at lunch time. The staff was friendly and helpful. We ordered a dozen raw oysters, a dozen of the garlic cooked oysters, the crab shrimp corn chowder, potato salad and the Rockefeller oyster po boy. All of that came to 100 bucks including 2 drinks. For the price, you don't get alot of food due to lack of combos as everything is purchased separately. Nice seating areas but not good for groups of more than 4 people. The po boy wasn't good as it was small and was dry as can be. Potato salad wasn't good at all to much mustard and tasted more like a slaw than potato salad. The soup was the best thing. Two hours after eating here and we were both in the bathroom non stop for the rest of the day and night so we got some kind of food poisoning probably from the oysters they didnt seem very cold like they should be. Btw this was are only meal for the day. First time getting sick from eating oysters. read more

Seafood was not what I was thinking of getting the day after Christmas, but it was such a gem to find downtown. Parking was a breeze, food service was quick, and staff were attentive. The shrimp crab corn chowder was very delicious and creamy. A serving was enough to try between two people. The shrimp po boy was tasty and not overwhelming like other po boys I've tried. The only thing I wouldn't recommend are the tacos. The tortilla made the experience bland and hid the flavorful shrimp and cabbage topping. The honey fried shrimp weren't featured on my photos but I highly recommend trying them! read more

The Sea Food is fresh always. You can not find any Other spot in the area that has such a great Variety of options to eat. Just study the menu and Pick. Your choice . Most times I pick a couple and then make sure I finish With Ousters on the 1/2 shell. I put my favorite sauces on the ousters and then slowly savor each Oyster and just like Ernest Hemingway I let the juices and oyster slide down my tongue and chew it slowly. Hemingway knew HOW TO DO IT. Am sure he had a nice glass of wine later in the evening. read more

The Seafood Place - Oysters - Seafood Markets Near Me - Tullahoma, Tennessee

Man I wanted to like this place. Ordered the seafood boil with andouille sausage, boiled shrimp, corn and potatoes. The potatoes were parboiled at best. Some of the pieces were still borderline raw. The shrimp was over cooked causing the shells to stick to the soft meat inside. The corn was dry and the kernels lacked most moisture causing the corn to look "wrinkled" and taste likewise. However, the worst part is that they don't use real butter. They use a "liquid butter substitute" made with soybean or canola oil blended with butter flavoring...and it's poured over the entire dish. 3 people cost $137 for LUNCH. For the price, you're better off buying crab legs at Publix and steaming them at home. The crab claws were good as an appetizer but be ready to pay $21 for it. read more

My wife and I enjoyed a very nice dinner at The Seafood Place. The general manager, Caleb, introduced himself before we ordered and he was friendly and extremely helpful. My wife had lightly battered and fried cod. She was very pleased with it. I had garlic parmesan salmon on a bed of rice with asparagus. It was excellent. read more

Really great seafood! Ate there twice in 2 days! Fantastic service. Wish we had one where we live!

Fairly casual dining experience. With rustic walls and a shared outdoor courtyard. The food was excellent. Everything was finished without complaints. Portions are small so there were no leftovers. Order at the counter and pick your own table. The menu is full of choices. You'll be disappointed when you can't try them all. read more

Everything was killer good except the very, very sweet macaroni salad. The oysters are always amazing and the fresh fish also.

We've come twice to eat here and it has been good both times! There is a wait to order at the front counter and then short wait to get your food, so a great option if you aren't in a hurry and just want to enjoy something different for dinner! The boil options or platters are the best. Always go for the specials on the screen behind the counter! read more

This place charges premium restaurant prices but only offers counter service. And the entrees don't come with anything, you must choose and pay separately for any sides that you might want. After placing an order, they asked if I wanted to take my cold dessert with me, or come back to the counter when I wanted it. That was a self-serve step too far for me and I canceled my order and left. For the prices they are charging, they need to offer table service. read more

The staff was very friendly. The food value and the price were underwhelming. My partner ordered the shrimp and grits which we're pretty good but could have used a little more seasoning for our taste. Our other party ordered the shrimp boil but you couldn't tell that it was prepared as a boil. It also lacked seasoning. I ordered the seafood mac and cheese and I was surprised that for an entree it came out on a saucer plate. I ate that in all of 5 minutes. I'd say it was okay overall but the portion size was misleading. I also ordered a small order of Brussel sprouts and smashed potatoes which were also a very miniature portions for the price. If I were to go back it would only be for the shrimp and grits. I'm also interested in trying some of the fried shrimp as well. read more

Somewhere I read about this place and was intrigued. Was it a fish market, a butcher shop, a restaurant, or all three? Square footage allotment tells you this is a restaurant with a small market for seasonings and swag. The food was good, but there was no fish counter on display and the beef was in a freezer. So here goes. For lunch I had their shrimp, crab and corn chowder. Fresh fish of the day was limited to two options. It seems that the Mardi Gras celebrations interfered with their usual Tuesday/Thursday deliveries. I opted for sauteed grouper. The soup was one of the best I've had. The broth had a nice seafood flavor and there was a good amount of crab and shrimp. It was delicious. While the grouper was good, I usually cook mine on a slightly less well done. Overall, it was very good. Three stars were awarded because of two exceptions that were not met on the market side. Having grown up near the Atlantic Ocean, my expectation is to see all the fish displayed. I like to smell the place for freshness and I like to look into the eyes of the fin fish to partially determine its freshness. There was a small display cart that might have been used for display, but there was nothing in it. Also, I wanted to see a display of the beef but it was stashed in a freezer. The dining area was clean and simple. Storefront windows provided for enough light despite the constant on and off rain. Service was wonderful. Everyone I met checked in with me to see if I were satisfied. The lady who talked to me about the fish market was extremely helpful, explaining when they get their fish, where they get it from and many other details. I live an hour from here, so frequent visits are not likely. read more

We were in town for a few hours and my co-worker suggested that we go here. Boy was he right. Great place. Friendly folks and delicious food. I was so impressed that my wife and I had a little road trip so she could experience it. She was as impressed as I was. I can't say we will be regulars as it's over a 2.5 hour drive and to be slightly picky it's a bit pricey for the area. But the food is excellent and worth it. We will certainly be back on occasion when we want a little get away for the day. read more

Amazing food, even better service. Paige and Amelia were the best! They were so attentive and extremely kind. They answered a whole list of questions and were nothing but helpful. This is our first time visiting The Seafood Place. I must say that it's a no frills place to eat, but definitely worth it. The restaurant itself is very clean and decorated with a "seafood theme". In my opinion, it's definitely a blue jeans kind of place, and that's pretty much what people were wearing. You place your order at the counter, then seat yourself. There were no servers, and you didn't really need them. Our food was served in a plastic bowl, and we ate with plastic forks/spoons. The beverage is serve yourself, and by using a plastic cup. Actually, none of that mattered, because the food itself was worth it all. We had shrimp creole, which was amazing. We also had shrimp and grits, which was the best I've ever eaten! When you're in Tullahoma, go by and try out it out. I guarantee you'll go back again read more

AMAZING!!! Some of the best seafood I've ever had! A must go in Tullahoma! Great owners and staff too!

This is our first visit to the new location. Have to say it's very nice inside. Went to the counter and the nice lady said the daily special was the fried shrimp with two sides. I have to say I was a little disappointed with our dining experience. The shrimp were overcooked and the potatoes in the potato salad were undercooked. The baked beans were very good as well as the Brussel sprouts. I also didn't care for the entire meal being served in to-go type packages. If you're spending 20+ dollars for a meal, I would expect a little bit better. I wish the owners well in opening a sit-down restaurant. read more

Stopped in while visiting from out of town. The menu had so many amazing sounding choices, it was hard to choose what to get! I opted for the shrimp and grits and was not disappointed! The ladies working were super nice and stopped by to make sure everything was to my liking. I'm never a big fan of plastic dishes and utensils but understand the business decision. It did make it easy to take my leftovers home as it was a good size serving. Restaurant was very clean and looked new and fresh. My only disappointment is that I live so far away! read more

The Seafood Place - Tonight's special is a seafood stuffed bell pepper - Seafood Markets Near Me - Tullahoma, Tennessee

We were excited to try this place, as everyone was so friendly and made a big fuss about how fresh everything was, but unfortunately it was a disappointment. Here are a few reasons why: 1. The Po Boy was just so-so. The crab was overcooked. It was sitting on some iceberg lettuce, a bit of mayo and an entirely average bun. For the price, it should've come with a side dish, but it didn't. We had to purchase a side. 2. The side we purchased was brussel sprouts. These are something I love and order often... these were honestly awful. They were hard and it seemed like they had been reheated. They were drizzled with a disgusting mayo topping and simply weren't tasty. They were a far cry from the lusciousness of really well-made brussel sprouts. 3. More on the side that we had to purchase... the brussel sprouts that we ordered were served in one of those little mini plastic cups that you put ketchup or soy sauce in. If we have to pay for a side, we should at least receive a decent sized serving. 4. This is presented as a fine restaurant, but everything is served in plastic. Plastic forks, plastic bowls, plastic everything. This is fine for going to Taco Bell for take out, but not for a place that presents itself as a restaurant of some caliber. Firstly, if we wanted to eat with plastic, like we were picnicking, we would go to a cheaper restaurant, but more importantly, ecologically... this is ridiculous and ignorant. All day long they are throwing away plastic! Shameful. We need to move past this, as a culture. 5. In summary, it's all concept, but no substance. And it's overpriced for what it is. read more

Service was good. We ordered the smashed potatoes, seafood pasta, Brussel Sprouts, crisp salad, grouper first pan seared and then fried the second attempt. Was not impressed at all to the point of barely eating It and having to waste it. Employees were very kind, envolved, and even offered to remake and give seafood mac&cheese for free. Overall will not be back but service wise was impressive considering the food and how it was presented! read more

Meh. Cool to see fresh seafood, but S.L.O.W. process to stand in the LONG line to order and then hope there's a table available to sit down given the limited seating. Blackened cod was pretty bland. Lobster bisque was average at best. At least their prices are high. (Pardon the sarcasm.). Give it a try if you'd like, but not if you have limited time, especially since there are several MUCH better restaurants in Tullahoma. read more
