There were a few people eating inside and several carryout orders that occurred during my visit. The inside is adorably decorated in your usual southern bbq joint style -- fun pig memorabilia and whatnot. They have a pretty large selection of bbq and an even larger selection of desserts. In retrospect, I definitely regret not getting a slice of cake or pie to go! I am usually a pulled pork girl, but it is pretty unusual to see smoked pulled chicken -- most places only do half or quarter birds -- and I like pulled chicken a lot, so I ventured out and ordered that! I got the smaller sized plate lunch, which comes with a piece of Texas toast and two sides. I went with curly fries and corn on the cob. Overall, the food was good! The pulled chicken was nice and smoky and the perfect serving size. It was a teeny bit dry but that's typical bbq chicken territory and nothing a good dash of creamy, peppery white bbq sauce couldn't fix. Good sauce! My corn on the cob wasn't super sweet -- probably not quite in season yet -- but it was cooked nicely and very juicy. The fries gave strooooong Arby's vibes such that I think they might actually *be* Arby's fries lol, but there's nothing wrong with that. Especially when they were cooked so fresh and came out hot and crispy! The toast was a lovely buttery companion and my sweet tea was on point. The service here though...THAT gets a 5/5, or really a 10/5 if such a thing were possible. I sometimes feel like southern hospitality is a myth or at least an oversimplification of southern social norms, but at this place it's real and sincere. The woman who took my order -- the owner, I later learned, having purchased the restaurant after years as an employee -- treated me and everyone else who walked in the doors with such warmth, kindness, interest, and attentiveness that it made my entire day. Truly everyone was made to feel so welcome. She catered to some older ladies who came in for a birthday, checked in on me in a nonjudgmental but caring way since I was by myself, and greeted regulars with a smile and by their name. She made the place feel like joy! Definitely give this place a go and enjoy the tasty food and wonderful folks. I'd happily return.

You can grab a marker and sign the walls, which was a fun touch, and they also encourage guests to leave signed dollar bills that are donated to a charitable cause each year. From a beer standpoint, this is one of the top breweries in Tennessee. They are well known nationally, as well. The building is a warehouse looking structure on the outside, but they have nicely decorated the tap room. Ample seating both inside and out and they have bands on some weekends. I have tried the flatbreads, a couple of sandwiches, and the Dinosaur wings (only kidding, but they are the largest chicken wings they can buy, so ample sized). I prefer the wings most of the time - except their rendition of Nashville Hot - but this time opted for a meatball sandwich. If you are trying to be an Italian food afficianado, this might not be in, but the sauce works well with these meatballs and there is ample cheese. As one normally focusing on Keto, adding a fork meant I could eat the kibbles and bits and leave the bun. Two thumbs up. As for the beer, they have some of the best IPAs and I finally tried the porter this go around. Many of their beers are rated above 4.0 on untappd and it is not just a local bump kind of thing. The brewery, as a whole, is 3.92 and also well deserved. To my normal "Will I be back" question, I think the answer is already clear. I do return almost every time I pass by.

His distillery is about an hour and a half from Nashville. Once you're out of the city, it's a beautiful drive, but there is not much between the two. Except of course, Uncle Nearest. We'll get back to that in another review. I don't know what I was expecting, but this place definitely exceeded my expectations. They have a pretty largely laid out property. We parked across the street and a lot and had to walk over and bus back. Walking in. We were slightly early for the next tour time, so we went to there establishment aptly named Happy Hour, and pre-gamed. One thing you can learn in the lobby is that Jack Daniels was not a tall man. In fact, he was quite short, though it would seem that his presence exceeded his physical height greatly. The tour started us on a bus driving us to the top of a hill close to one of their warehouses and we walked our way down to see parts of the property before we got into some more buildings. Our guide, Danna, was excellent! A former navy instructor, she was both incredibly knowledgeable about the business and very passionate about working their and teaching the history of the distillery. On the way down we had a stop at a drink trailer. And had our tour beverages. We also got to see some of what they were doing out there making charcoal for their distilling process. As we moseyed along further, drinks in hand, we learned about the history. We passed by a really old fire brigade station. And landed in a cabin that had a lot of interesting pictures in it and quite a bit of history. I won't go word for word in my review, then you would have no reason to visit. I'll just add some tidbits as we go. Unbeknownst to myself and my companions, Uncle Nearest and Jack Daniels are very closely related. In fact, Jack's first master distiller was Nathan "Nearest" Green, and Jack Daniel distillery has continuously employed members of the nearest family ever since. Their relationship was not only unique, but that Bond has not broken since this distillery was put in place. Very cool things I did not know, and there's plenty more of that. If you go on the tour. Treat yoself to some knowledge. We then wandered through the distilling area, and barrel House. Our tour ended at The tasting area, where we got to try a number of things. Now. Jack Daniels, like Uncle nearest, is in a dry county and they can't serve things outright. So they have to come up with ways to do it and stay within the laws. So you might notice in my pictures that the tastings have just a wee bit in each glass. If you want more, you'll have to go to the bottle shop. And if you want to buy a barrel, or anything else, you have to go to the hardware shop. When you go on the tour you'll understand what that means and why it's important. At the conclusion of the tour, you can go to the happy hour bar, the bottle shop, or the hardware store. There's a shuttle to take you wherever you want to go on the property or back to your parking spot. It's a very interesting and enlightening tour. We weren't aware how much history was here and all the things we didn't know yet. Very cool tour. Highly recommend going!

I'd postponed it on my last visit to Tullahoma so I'd have something to look forward to on my NEXT inevitable visit, so safe to say anticipation had really built! I arrived around 2:45 and came into a moderately busy coffee house. The acoustics are such it's a little hard to hear if groups are visiting inside, so maybe not the best place to work or read quietly. That's fine, I was going to get my stuff to go anyway. The interior is very cute and thoughtfully decorated and even has a selection of Celtic themed gifts. Service was...surly. The barista spoke very softly and slowly in a very apathetic tone and did not seem interested in answering questions or sharing about the products. I got an iced bonfire mocha (I was very quickly and somewhat harshly corrected about the sizes available to order it in). The pastries looked absolutely amazing so I got a coconut cream scone and a hazelnut pastry to go. They did offer to warm the scone for me, which I accepted. My items took an average amount of time to come out to me. I headed out immediately since I wanted to get home and didn't feel that welcome anyway. So.... That bonfire mocha, yall. It's a spicy mocha, with a dusting of cayenne on top. Allegedly. I've had mochas like this before. They're often made spicy with cinnamon and/or cayenne. I've enjoyed the ones I've tried very much (the version of it at Gold Sprint in Huntsville is delicious!) so I was excited for this one. It had me completely convinced I'd somehow made the barista furious without knowing how. I am fairly heat-tolerant and like spicy stuff and it had me absolutely on FIRE. I thought maybe I'd accidentally gotten a sip of cayenne straight from the top, so I tried mixing it up and drinking from another spot with my straw. Nope. I tried multiple times, coughing up a storm the whole time. But the whole thing was crazy spicy. Inedibly (un-drinkably?) spicy. The cayenne went straight to the back of my throat and sat there scalding me for a long time. I was so sad. The only reason this isn't a 1 star is the coconut cream scone. It was supposed to be heated up...I can't say it was much more than a little above room temperature. But I munched on it in my car and thought it was pretty good. A little dry, as many scones tend to be, but the coconut glaze and cream was flavorful and silky. I enjoyed it. I planned on sharing the hazelnut pastry with my husband later. However, I examined it when I got home (mind you, I hadn't opened it since after leaving the restaurant) only to find...a short, slightly curly black hair attached (baked in?) to it. Facepalm. The performers were a real family--parents and their children--and their chemistry made the show especially charming. We attended the final night, complete with playful moments and laughter. A little long, but well-paced with the meal between acts. This could easily become a new Christmas tradition.
