I started a project through Yelp, and through the messages in the app, Andrea C. was able to help get us scheduled for a same-day appointment--which we truly appreciated, especially in 90+° weather! I'm sure they had many other clients dealing with similar HVAC issues, so it was such a relief not to have to suffer through the heat all day. Andrea was always quick to respond, easy to communicate with, and made the scheduling process seamless. They were also able to provide a diagnostic quote upfront, while many other companies would not give any estimate until they came out and saw the issue. I really appreciated that transparency. Even better, the diagnostic fee was applied toward the repair that was needed, which was another huge plus! Shortly before arrival, we received a text letting us know Marcelo was en route, including his photo, followed by a direct phone call with an estimated arrival time. Lemme start off by saying Marcelo was such an amazing technician! So now let's get into the meat our of experience. We were having an issue with our AC not blowing cold air, and after some quick troubleshooting, he already had a pretty good idea of what the problem was. Of course, he then followed up with his handy-dandy tools to confirm his suspicions! What really took the experience from good to exceptional was how helpful and thorough Marcelo was throughout the visit. While working, he shared lots of great tips with my husband about maintaining our AC unit, helping prevent future issues, and even reducing allergies in the home--which truly made a difference. He was also incredibly patient with all the questions my husband and I had, not only about the issue at hand but also about our other HVAC-related questions. We also really appreciated how respectful Marcelo was of our home. As an Asian household, we really value that extra consideration, and when he came back inside to check that the cold air was coming out after the repair, he immediately put on his own shoe covers without us even having to ask. That was a huge plus for us, because so many technicians forget or just don't care which was definitely not the case here! Marcelo did an excellent job repairing our air conditioner. We were having a problem with water leaking from our AC system, and he was very thorough in figuring out what was causing it. The drain pipes were badly clogged, and when the clog wasn't easy to clear, Marcelo took the time to trace the problem and make sure it was properly fixed rather than just doing a temporary repair. Piggies Air Conditioning did an excellent job with my new Daikin FIT inverter system installation. Ruben, the owner, was very patient in answering all my questions and gave me a very competitive price for a variable inverter system. On top of that, they offer a 12 year labor warranty with their installation. Angel, the Daikin Comfort Pro HVAC tech, who installed the system did a great job. Angel was very meticulous about the installation and would send me updates on the numbers on the vacuum test and pressure test. He also made sure that the installation aesthetics is super clean. So far, the system is working better than my expectations. My house feels cooler at a higher temperature than my old HVAC system at a lower temperature. The cost of my electricity per kWh is at least 10 kWh less per day on the Daikin system. The only hitch during the whole process was the install took longer than expected and our family had to endure the heat during one of the hottest days of the month. Not sure if it's possible, but in the future may I suggest offering customers a temporary complimentary portable air conditioning unit, if the install is going to go longer than expected. That would put the customer service above and beyond. Overall, I'm very satisfied with the quality of installation and how my new Daikin FIT system is working. I would highly recommend Piggies Air Conditioning for the quality of installation and the best deal for a Daikin FIT system. read more

Had to get a duct sealed due to the recent rains on a rooftop unit at a rental property of mine and was looking for a contractor that offered a good warranty on parts/labor. The work was satisfactory, with pictures shown of the repair. Quote process was fast and free. My reservations with Piggies involves the deposit and billing. I was told because it is a rental property that full payment of the work is required upfront. This was a bit of a red flag for me because 1) i'm the property owner so I'm not sure what difference it makes between a rental property and a primary residence. 2) This goes against the CA BPC aka illegal. The CA BPC 7159.5 states that downpayment of home improvement contracts should not exceed more than $1000 or 10% of the contract amount, whichever is less. When asked about this full up front payment (by the way, no estimate was signed or approved at this point), I was told there was some miscommunication about it and they no longer required the full payment upfront. After the contract was signed and work was completed, I ultimately just paid the full amount w/o a deposit in a one time payment. I considered not posting this review but I wanted to make sure other folks seeking home improvements are aware of the regulations surrounding deposits. Response to Ruben's response: I dont think the experience was flawless, hence not rating a 5 star. Everything was "OK" as a 3 star describes. The policy I was told regarding full, upfront payment on rentals had to come from somewhere (it's very specific language), and customers that do not know the law can easily be misled. Additionally, it was I that suggested we wait till after the rain stopped and the forecast was clear. Whomever I was working with offered to schedule it in between days of rain. When I asked, I was told it would take 24 hours for the sealant to set and I wanted to save Piggies from having a callback. All said and done, I'll raise this to a 4 star in good faith that this wont occur again. read more

Had someone come out 3 weeks ago because my HVAC fan was making a grinding sound when it was on. Turns out the fan and condenser needed to be replaced as it was old. Marcelo came out for the inspection and he was very nice! He informed me that since my HVAC was old they'd have to order directly from the manufacturer which does take some time. That's understandable. Fast forward to today I'm glad they sent the same tech back out because he was really nice! Ran into some issues during the install and it took 3.5hrs I felt so bad that he was out in this heat. He knew how to troubleshoot the issue and fixed my AC! I can't thank or recommend him enough! It's always nerve racking having a company come out to the house that I don't know anything about other than Yelp reviews. Mark came out to look at my furnace to troubleshoot the abnormal sounds that occasionally occur. He ran some tests and gave me some suggestions. He did not try to sell me on anything and based on what I know from watching lots of HVAC Youtube videos he was on point. He talked to me more like a friend than a sales person.
